Chapter 2

After a short walk through some narrow and dark streets, he arrived at the main street. The bright light from the neon signs illuminated the pavement. He could hear shouts coming from every direction. There were mainly two types of people strolling these streets. Firstly, there were the young people, those in their late twenties or thirties, who left one club to join the next one; and secondly, there were the regulars, those you always saw hanging around this place, the locals. Were part of this second group mostly the drunkards, the junkies and the homeless; and often, they were all of this at the same time.

But then again, this part of town was the place to be if you were looking for some fun. Any kind of fun. Parties, drugs, sex... you could get all of this here.

Of course, this part of the town was always lively; but at night one could say that it truly came to live.

It is paradise, but a rather dark paradise, the young man thought as he walked down the street. Some neon light reflected upon the blond hair strands that curled around his face, making it shimmer from time to time purple, pink or golden red.

As he was about to reach his workplace, he heard a familiar voice."Hi, baby!", the voice shouted shouting after a yellow cabriolet, desperately trying to get the driver's and the front passenger's attention.

The voice belonged to a short man, dressed in a pair of leather pants, not unlike the once the young man wore himself. But the second man had matched the pants with a white sleeveless shirt, which, as he waved after the car, flashed his pink nipples. Around his well-formed hips he had fixed a small black leather bag.

The passenger of the cabriolet turned around, fixing with some interest the man that had waved and shouted after them. The driver slowed down, and the passenger ogled the short man. Even though the man was still young his hair was a shiny tone of silver. Most people who worked in this job dyed their hair. It made them stand out of the crowd. And this man's hair was just stunning. The silver reflected the streetlights and made his clear brown eyes look ablaze.

"How about a free ride? It is my birthday today!", the passenger shouted back after getting a good look at him.

"Keep on dreaming, darling!", the silver haired boy yelled back and turned around. Hereby, he nearly bumped into the young man in his leopard printed coat.

"It looks like there isn't much work tonight, Jimin", he only said to the silver haired boy, shrugging.

"Tae, you are late! Where have you been? James and Will came around, trying to claim our spot. I had to fight them off on my own!", Jimin said with a little reproach in his voice.

"Sorry. I worked late yesterday. He kept me busy until this afternoon", Tae explained as he took of his coat.

"One of your regulars?", Jimin inquired.

"Yeah...", Tae replied, trying to cut the conversation short.

"Anyway! There are no customers around today. I have been walking this street for about twenty minutes now. And damn, I look fine as hell tonight. It cannot be because of me... I mean look at this shirt, look at this bum. No... It isn't my fault. Maybe we should ask Johnny for help. He could find us customers", Jimin sulked while he inspected his back side in the reflection of the shop window.

Satisfied with his own looks, he slapped his butt and turned to Tae.

"That's a bad idea Chim. You know exactly that Johnny would want a part of the money that we earn. It is not always easily earned money. And he would want to run our lives and take all our money. No, Chim. Johnny is clearly not the answer", Tae insisted, patting his friend's shoulder comfortingly.

"You are right: WE say who, WE say when and WE say how much!", Jimin looked up at his friend and gave him a bright smile.

Tae nodded satisfied. It was a hard business and it was only getting harder by the day. Therefore, it was important to stay true to oneself and not to sell away the last bit of freedom and selflove one possessed.

"Don't I look too much like a young version of Di Caprio?", Tae asked his friend, pulling at one strand of his recently dyed hair.

Jimin moved closer to Tae, inspecting his face and hair. "Now that you mention it, you might look a little like Jack from Titanic. Which means that you look stunning! I love your hair. It is always so smooth", he ran his fingers through Tae's hair and gave him a light kiss on his cheek, "You look all glamor--".

Jimin never finished his sentence. His brown eyes left Tae's features and wandered, like seduced, to something situated behind the young man. Jimin's jaw dropped and he started fumbling wildly with Tae's fingers. "Capture this! Capture this!", Jimin repeatedly told Tae, his eyes still fixated on something further down the alley.

Then there came this loud and distinguished sound of the engine. The sudden noise made Tae turn around, trying to see what had captivated his best friend. That was when he first lay eyes on the latest model of the Maserati.

Jeon felt more and more lost in this big unknown city. And with every passing minute, he got himself lost even more in it. There was no use in waiting around, it was better to ask for directions soon.

Now that he was passing some vivacious part of the town, it was better to take this opportunity. And Jeon surely was a man who knew when and how to take opportunities and not only because it was part of his job.

As he was driving though this bright and loud part of town, he noticed at the sidewalk two outstanding figures. Their outfits clearly made some fashion statement. They were both wearing leather pants and some rather risky shirts. One of the two men, he had some shining silver hair and fierce eyes, was looking straight at him. No. Not at him. He was looking at the car.

In that instant, the other man turned around. And as he turned around, he made his blond hair fly. The streetlight illuminated his face. Jeon had to swallow hard. This man looked even more stunning than the first one. Never had he seen such a handsome man. Not just his face, with this beautifully curled hair, but also his body looked unearthly beneath the transparent shirt. The directions!

He had to ask for directions, Jeon suddenly remembered and hit the brakes of his car. With a loud jar, the Maserati came to a halt only a few feet away from the two unusually handsome men.

If he had to ask for directions, why not do it now?

"Boy that is the latest Maserati!", Jimin squeaked.

"And oooh, wow! Am I dreaming? The car just halted! He saw us, Tae. I am a hundred percent sure that he saw us!", he squeezed Tae's fingers and he started bouncing a little bit on his spot, all excited.

"Are you sure he saw us?", Tae asked skeptically, while he side-eyed the car.

"I am positive!", Jimin replied in a high tone, "You should go for him! You look so fine tonight!", he squeezed Tae's fingers even harder.

Tae looked from Jimin to the car, not yet convinced what to do.

"Don't take less than two hundred! And call me when you're through!", Jimin babbled on.

He released Tae's hands and pushed him towards the car, making the decision for him. Tae sighed but then nodded at his friend. He gave Jimin a quick hug and then he walked graciously towards the Maserati. "Take care of you!", he heard Jimin shout behind him.

There was a look Tae used whenever he had to face his clients. It was more than a look, it was a facade, a mask he put on to hide his true feelings and to give him confidence and the strength to go through with what he was about to do.

And that night, as he approached Jeon's car, he was wearing his mask.
