"Isaac please." Noah pleaded at his brother but the latter only glared at him.
"Are you changing too?" Isaac mumbled and crossed his arms. He was getting frustrated with all of Isaac's question and stubbornness.
"Changing?" Noah repeated, his anger bubbling up. "Oh, you see that as change? Fine. Can you please remove your damn pride and let's make a plan to get our sister back?"
"She left." Jayden mumbled. "She decided on that. Let her come back. She'll find her way back to us."
What the actual hell?
Noah wanted to just rip Jayden's face off. He's sure that the kid's in some sort of phase.
He wanted to help Lucas and Tyler after what they said to them. Those moments with Sam wasn't them pretending that Sam's Lydia.
They're having fun with Samantha herself.
That's their sister and not some dead girl.
That's their little girl and he saw what they did to her. They were so stupid. They pushed her away and let her go without any struggles or any damn efforts to stop her!
Noah couldn't do that. Not now. He wants Sam. He wants to hang out with her. He wants to see her at school. He wants to tuck her in. He wants to tease her. He wants to see her smile again
He wants her by their side again as his little baby sister.
And they threw that away like trash.
They fucking threw that opportunity of finally being a happy family away.
How shitty of a brother could they really be?
And he knows that those memories weren't trash. They were gold. They were priceless. Nothing could ever be described to what he felt when Sam was by their sides. She filled up that empty void inside of his heart. She gave him a reason to do something good out of his grief that came out of Lydia's death. Those memories were unchangeable. They were perfect and lovely and their memories of Sam will never be changed or forgotten.
But they're pretending that it was forgotten.
They pretended for a little while that Sam was Lydia.
They pretended that everything was normal.
That Sam will get back to normal.
She didn't.
And it was their fault.
And they were too damn prideful to admit it.
Now, look at what happened!
Look at what happened to Sam! To them!
"You... " Noah couldn't even get find any words to describe at how mad he was right now.
That's not even the annoying part. It's their parents. They think that working will make everything better. The hell, what kind of parents were they? Because he's sure as f*ck that they're much worse than Xendrix and Daniel's parents.
Because they're just killing them on the inside.
"Fuck you!" Noah shouted, earning their glares. Noah lifted his middle finger and waved it around with a lopsided grin. "Yeah, see this? I'm tired, we all are, and I just want my sister back but you just wanna be stubborn, don't you?"
Isaac stood up from his chair, glaring daggers at Noah. He looks intimidating. Scary even. But Noah stood firm. He stood tall as well, glaring at him as well.
"Then go after her!" Isaac shouted, pushing Noah away, making him stumble. "This isn't some fairytale, Noah. Don't pull us into the mess! It's my choice if I want to save her and I don't want that!"
"This mess that you're talking about is the mess that we created!" He pushed him again and Noah couldn't help but see darkness surrounding his vision.
Noah pushed Isaac well, making the man stumble back with a surprised look on his face. Jayden wanted to interfere but Noah spoke before he could even open his mouth.
"Who are you?" Noah muttered, walking back with a disgusted look on his face. "Where's my brother? Was he even there in the first place?"
Isaac huffed angrily at him. "Why do you guys eagerly want to have her back."
Why?
"Because she's our sister!" Noah cried as he remembered their little bundle of joy when they were little. He remembered the time where they introduced themselves to her and promised her that they'll be the nicest most amazing brothers for her. He remembered the way she smiled at them. How she called out for them when she needed help.
This is Samantha.
And without her in the house, without her by their side.
It doesn't sit well with him.
It feels like something's missing.
He wakes up everyday, realizing that he won't get to talk to their little sister, he won't get to make her breakfast or to reprimand her about watching those stupid horror movies.
He won't get to see her grow up.
They promised something and they broke it.
"Why are you pushing her?" Jayden also stood up from his chair. "Give her space, Noah, she needs it!"
"Time's wasting." Noah stated, his voice breaking apart when he said those words.
She won't come back and they all know that. He can't pretend forever. He can't pretend that everything will be back to normal because they've done it once and the consequences were shown.
What ifs immediately swarmed his mind and he couldn't stop the loud beating of his heart as he thought of the many scenarios that Sam could be in without them.
What if she graduated high school without them? They won't be there to cheer her on? They won't be there to give her hugs and congratulate her on graduating it?
What if she got into college without them? They won't be there to see the joy of celebrating it!
What if they weren't there to witness her first boyfriend?
Her wedding?
What if they don't get to be uncles to her kids?
"just because she wants to be alone doesn't necessarily mean it's okay to leave her alone."
Isaac didn't say anything but Jayden looked mad for some reason.
"She left us! She's still mad at us, Noah!" Jayden shouted, tears coming out from his eyes as he clenched his fist. "Why can't anyone see that?"
"And it's our fault that she left us." Noah said with a small smile plastered on his lips.
It hurts to smile.
There was no happiness anymore.
There was no one to make him happy anymore.
His family was shattering like some glass.
Isaac clenched his jaw as he looked at the ground in anger and in anguish.
"Just leave her be." Isaac whispered, glaring at him. "She decided on that, she wants her space. She wants us to stay the hell away from her."
That was true.
Sam wanted them to stay away but they're hurt. She's hurt.
That's all not fair.
Noah nodded, accepting the chances that maybe, she'll reject them but he still wants her to know, for one last time, that he loves her. No matter what.
"I'm going to bring her back. With or without you."
He then turned his back on them and ignored the throbbing pain inside of his heart. He wants this.
He must do this.
"Why?" Isaac whispered and Noah caught the word and he looked back at him.
Isaac wore a sad look on his face as he stared at him. Noah couldn't understand his question. Why?
Why what?
"Why must we go through this?" Isaac whispered. "She'll bring more pain to us. We'll bring more pain to her as well. It's better to leave her alone than to bring her back. Can't you see that? She'll get hurt if she's with us, Noah. She'll just get hurt and I don't want that for her... I want her to live a life without us. You can see our family, right? They're breaking apart. I also don't want to happen to what happened before. Lydia and Sam was almost the same and looking at her... It hurts. It hurts so much and everytime I revive a memory of Sam, it brings me back to thinking that maybe we're just not good enough for her. Maybe... Maybe I'll bring her pain and might never be there to save her."
Noah was surprised at the sudden confession. It was a surprise because Isaac was always silent about his feelings. He would always be angry at anyone who would bring up Sam.
Why?
Why was he being like this?
"I know... " Noah have the same fear as Isaac. "I know but I'm more scared of not seeing her life go on without us. I'm scared that maybe she'll live on a life with a heavy burden on her shoulders. I know that you're scared of thinking that maybe we're not good enough for her but I'm more scared of her thinking that we were not there for her. I'm more scared of what Sam would think of us. Maybe she'll think that we didn't love her. I, at least, want to apologize for all of the things I've done. If I apologized and she still wants us gone in her life... Then I'll leave. For good."
He looked down at the floor and imagining the life they'll have without Sam.
It looks sad.
Ugly.
Gloomy.
"If that's what she wants then I'll leave but now, she's my little sister... " He looked at Jayden and Isaac with determination set in his eyes. "And I want to be with her every step of the way. For real this time."
And with that, he walked away.
He wants to go to her and tell her how sorry he was.
He wants to save her.
"Noah!"
The said man stopped in his tracks and looked back.
He saw Kyle.
Kyle smiled softly at him. "Let me join..."
"This isn't some club, Kyle." Noah frowned. "I want to do all that I could do to atleast apologize to her."
"And you think that I also don't want that?" Kyle frowned. "I want to bring her back. Look, I'm not gonna lie but I eavesdropped and what you've said was true. I'm scared of not being in her life. Imagining it, it was... Dim. Our lives would be dim without her because she's this ball of energy that I've come to like and I've come to like seeing her be that ball of energy."
Noah nodded, understanding him and how he feels about all of this. He's right. Sam's a ball of energy and without her, life would be dim. She's their sister. Their little sun, their little small bean.
Most importantly, their sister.
"I know... "
oOo
"Do you mean those words?" Jayden whispered at Isaac and the man nodded.
"I do... " Isaac sat back down with a tired look on his face. His eyes were filled with tears as he clenched his jaw in frustration. "I really do..."
"What now?" Jayden asked and Isaac chuckled. It was strained and humorless.
"Sooner or later you'll join them too."
Jayden looked at him for a moment and sighed. "I won't..."
"Why?" He demanded. "I'm not your leader, Jayden! Just leave!"
Everyone does.
"I won't!" Jayden loyally said. "Besides... I want to realize my mistake... I want to see it... I just... Is that normal? I can't see anything wrong in what I did. I kept secrets from Sam, not because I wanted to cover up for my mistakes. We kept secrets from her because we know that she'll get hurt. Those were her nightmares, her traumatizing memories of the past and we kept that from her because it'll just make things more... Complicated. I just... I know that it'll hurt when she gets to know all about Lydia but we were gonna tell her. It's not a secret that we were going to keep it forever. She was just... not ready to know it yet."
Isaac sighed and nodded.
He knows that.
