The Beginning Part 2
It was just another routine evening for Liv as her soccer team, Inazuma Japan, practiced for their upcoming match against The Knights of Queen. During their break, Liv idly scrolled through her phone when a text message from Legolas flashed across her screen. Surprised by the unexpected contact, Liv's curiosity was instantly piqued, wondering what he could possibly want at this hour.
Legolas: Liv, we need to talk urgently. Please come alone.
Liv: What's in it for me?
Legolas: You'd be helping out some old friends in a critical moment. Trust me, it's crucial.
Liv: Alright, I'll hear you out. Where do you want to meet?
Legolas: Meet me in the alleyway near the Cineplex. I'll explain everything once you arrive.
Liv tucked her phone into her pocket and pulled her hoodie over her head, making sure she wouldn't be followed. She started to stride towards the alleyway, eyes scanning for any sign of Legolas. Suddenly, a hand landed on her shoulder, causing her to whirl around, a kunai knife poised for action.
"Liv, it's me," Legolas said, his voice calming her nerves.
"You startled me," she admitted, lowering the knife.
"Apologies for that," Legolas replied. "And be careful with that weapon, someone could get hurt."
"Were you followed?" he asked, concern evident in his tone.
"No, don't worry," Liv reassured him.
"What's going on?" she inquired.
"There's trouble in Rohan, and we need your assistance," Legolas explained.
"Alright, I'll help. But I'll bring some backup," Liv decided firmly.
"But I have to get back to soccer practice; my team will be worried," she added.
"I'll text you the location," Legolas promised.
"It was good to see you. Too bad we couldn't chat longer," Liv remarked wistfully.
"Will you be fine getting back?" Legolas inquired.
"Yeah, the soccer field isn't far," Liv replied confidently.
"Take care. See you soon, little sister," said Legolas, pulling Liv in for a hug before they parted ways.
Liv returned to practice and spotted David waiting for her with a concerned expression etched on his face.
"Babe, where have you been?" David's voice cut through the air, filled with worry.
Liv offered him a reassuring smile. "There was something I had to take care of," she replied, her tone cryptic yet determined.
David's brow furrowed in curiosity. "What was it?" he prodded, his concern deepening.
Liv took a deep breath, knowing she had to be honest with him. "An old friend reached out to me for help. There's trouble brewing in the kingdom of Rohan, and they need assistance. I've agreed to go, but only if I can bring backup," she explained, her eyes meeting David's with conviction.
A mix of emotions flickered across David's face before determination settled in. "I want to come with you," he declared, his voice firm.
Liv's heart swelled with gratitude. "I was hoping you'd say that," she said, relieved.
David nodded, his mind already shifting to logistics. "Who else is joining us?" he asked, practical as ever.
"Saya and Lily," Liv replied, her expression faltering as she mentioned their daughter.
David's eyes widened in alarm. "Honey, we can't bring Lily along. She's only three, and don't forget, you're one month pregnant," he reminded her gently, concern evident in his voice as he placed a hand on her still-flat stomach.
Liv's determination flared, her resolve unyielding. "We can't afford a babysitter, and besides, I can handle myself in combat. You don't need to worry about me," she insisted, her voice unwavering.
Before David could respond, the coach's voice boomed across the field. "Hey, Samford, Uchiha, get back on the field!" she commanded, interrupting their conversation.
Liv exchanged a quick glance with David, a silent agreement passing between them. They would discuss their plans further after practice, but for now, they had to focus on the task at hand. With newfound determination, they turned back to the field, ready to tackle whatever challenges awaited them, both on the soccer field and beyond.
Time skip
After their practice, Liv and David made their way home, the evening air carrying a sense of urgency as they discussed their impending departure.
"So, are we leaving right now?" David inquired, his voice reflecting a mixture of excitement and readiness.
"Yeah, let's pack up our gear and get moving," Liv affirmed, her stride purposeful as she led the way into their home.
Their plans were momentarily interrupted by the sight of Lily, their young daughter, standing in the hallway, her eyes wide with sleepiness and curiosity.
"Mommy, daddy, where were you?" Lily's voice held a note of concern as she peered up at them.
"Sorry, sweetie, did we wake you up?" Liv asked gently, bending down to Lily's eye level.
Lily nodded, rubbing her eyes with tiny fists. "Listen, Lily, I need you to go pack your stuff," Liv instructed, her tone loving but firm.
"Why, mommy? Are we leaving?" Lily's brow furrowed in confusion as she looked up at her parents.
"Yes, we are," Liv replied, her voice tinged with determination as she met Lily's gaze.
Turning to David, Liv made a quick request. "Babe, can you call Saya and let her know about the mission?"
"Yeah, I got it," David replied, already reaching for his phone to make the necessary arrangements.
As Liv hurried upstairs after Lily to help her pack, David followed behind, talking on the phone with Saya ready to assist in any way he could. Together, they gathered their gear and essentials, ensuring they were prepared for the journey ahead.
Once packed, they made their way down to the garage, where Jazz, their trusty autobot companion, awaited.
"Hey, Jazz," Liv greeted warmly.
"Yo, Liv, what's up?" Jazz responded, transforming into his robot form.
"Are you up for an adventure?" Liv asked with a grin, knowing Jazz's enthusiasm for excitement.
"Of course I am," Jazz replied eagerly, transforming back into his vehicle form and opening the doors for them.
David slid comfortably into the driver's seat, adjusting the mirrors and steering wheel to his preference, while Liv carefully secured Lily into her car seat with practiced precision. Once satisfied, Liv settled into the passenger seat beside David, a sense of anticipation tingling in the air.
"So, where are we headed, you guys?" Jazz's voice crackled through the car's radio system, a hint of curiosity lacing his words.
"Saya's place," Liv replied promptly, a grin spreading across her face as she glanced at David.
"Got it," Jazz responded cheerfully, his voice filtering through the speakers as he skillfully reversed the car out of the garage, the engine purring smoothly as they embarked on their journey towards Saya's house.
Time seemed to slip away as they navigated the familiar streets, the hum of conversation and the soft sound of Lily's laughter filling the car with warmth. Before they knew it, Jazz expertly pulled into Saya's driveway, where Saya stood waiting with a welcoming smile.
"Hey, Liv," Saya greeted with a wide smile as she slid into the car, her excitement palpable and contagious.
"Hey," Liv returned the greeting, her own excitement bubbling beneath the surface as she exchanged a quick glance with David.
As the engine roared to life, Saya's curiosity couldn't be contained any longer. "Liv, why is Lily coming with us?" she asked, her brow furrowing with puzzlement.
Liv shrugged, offering a sheepish grin. "We couldn't get a babysitter on such short notice," she confessed, knowing that Saya would understand the unpredictability of their situation.
Saya chuckled, shaking her head in amusement. "Well, she'll certainly make the adventure more interesting," she remarked, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
"Jazz, let's kick it into high gear," Liv added with a mischievous twinkle in her eye, prompting a chuckle from their trusty autobot companion.
With a nod of agreement, Jazz revved the engine, the car vibrating with energy as it surged forward onto the open road. The wind rushed past them, carrying with it a sense of exhilaration and anticipation for the journey ahead.
As they drove, Liv couldn't resist the urge to check her phone, her fingers tapping away at the screen as she navigated through her messages. When she noticed the location sent by Legolas, her heart skipped a beat with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
With practiced ease, Liv inputted the coordinates into Jazz's GPS system, ensuring they were on track for their next adventure.
As the landscape blurred past them, Liv couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement coursing through her veins. Whatever awaited them at their destination, she was ready to face it head-on, fuelled by the camaraderie of her friends and the thrill of the unknown.
As the car came to a halt at their destination, Jazz's voice crackled through the speakers, breaking the silence of the night. "I have to let you guys off here," he announced, his tone tinged with a hint of reluctance.
"Thanks for the lift, Jazz," Liv chimed in with gratitude, stepping out of the car followed by David and Saya. The cool night air greeted them as they emerged from the vehicle, wrapping them in its embrace as they prepared to embark on the next leg of their journey.
David walked around to the back seat and gently lifted Lily out of her car seat, her sleepy eyes blinking in confusion as she looked around. "Mommy, where are we?" she asked, her voice filled with innocence and curiosity.
"We'll find out soon enough, sweetheart," Liv replied with a reassuring smile, taking Lily's hand in hers as they ventured towards the looming shadows of the nearby woods. David and Saya followed closely behind, their footsteps echoing softly against the forest floor as they ventured deeper into the unknown.
The dense canopy of trees stretched overhead, casting eerie shadows that danced in the moonlight. The air was thick with anticipation, each rustle of leaves and crackle of twigs sending a shiver down their spines.
