Return to Edoras
On the wide, sweeping plains of Rohan, a determined company of riders surged forward, their horses galloping in formation, led by Gandalf the White. The sunlight glinted off their armor as they rode swiftly toward Edoras, the seat of Rohan's power and the home of King Théoden. Their mission was urgent: to rally and strategize for a battle that would shake Middle-earth to its core. In the distance, the Golden Hall of Meduseld loomed, its mighty pillars reaching towards the sky, sheltering those who awaited the riders' arrival. Within the hall, beneath the glow of torchlight, friends and allies gathered, discussing their plan with a shared intensity.
Liv sat quietly on a bench in the corner, cradling her daughter Gabby in her arms, softly humming as she nursed her. Around her, Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Théoden, Éomer, David, and Haldir debated the next steps to draw out Sauron's armies. Their voices mingled with the hum of the hall, each voice carrying a unique weight.
"We need to draw out Sauron's armies," Gandalf declared, his wise eyes gleaming with the urgency of his vision. "If we do not force his hand, he will choose the time and place, and Middle-earth will pay the price."
"And how exactly do you suggest we do that?" Aragorn asked, his brow furrowed as he met Gandalf's gaze. "Sauron is not easily baited, nor is he a fool."
Liv shifted slightly, glancing at Gabby as the conversation caught her attention. "We need some kind of distraction," she chimed in softly but firmly.
David, standing near her, rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Smoke bombs," he suggested. "If we create enough chaos, it could draw his forces out, make them think they're under attack from multiple fronts."
Théoden nodded slowly. "Smoke could be effective... a dark shroud to keep the enemy guessing."
"Smoke bombs could work," Liv agreed, "but we would need a massive supply—more than a few hundred, maybe thousands. I'd have to ask Tenten to help create them."
At the mention of "Tenten," Haldir raised an eyebrow. "And who, may I ask, is this Tenten?"
"She's a weapons expert from my homeland," Liv explained. "Crafty and skilled in creating various explosives. She could outfit us with enough devices to give Sauron's forces quite a surprise."
"And what about numbers?" Haldir continued. "We can create all the smoke we want, but Sauron's army is vast. We'll need soldiers—many more than Rohan can offer alone."
Liv considered the question carefully, then spoke up. "I could reach out to the Hidden Leaf Village. Lady Fifth might be willing to lend us some of her shinobi for this fight."
Gimli looked up, curious but skeptical. "The Hidden Leaf Village? What's that, some mysterious elf refuge?"
Liv chuckled. "Not quite, Gimli. The Hidden Leaf Village is home to skilled ninja warriors—shinobi who possess unique abilities and powerful techniques. They're highly trained and would give us a serious advantage."
Aragorn, his gaze focused, leaned in closer. "And you think this 'Lady Fifth' would help us?"
"She might, especially if I'm the one to ask her," Liv replied confidently. "She was my teacher after all."
Gandalf nodded approvingly. "If you have that connection, Liv, it could make all the difference."
"And how long would it take to get them here?" Théoden asked, his voice weighted with concern. "Time is not on our side."
"Well," Liv replied, "I could use my Rinnegan to teleport them here, but that takes a lot of chakra. It would drain me, but if it means the difference between victory and defeat..."
Théoden nodded solemnly. "And how many would come?"
"Every available Chunin and Jonin," Liv replied confidently. "We'd have more than enough reinforcements to match Sauron's forces."
David looked at her with an encouraging smile. "And what about the Autobots?"
"The Autobots?" Gimli interrupted, bewildered. "Who—or what—are these Autobots?"
Liv chuckled at Gimli's confusion. "They're giant robots from another world called Cybertron. They can transform into vehicles and are incredibly powerful. Trust me, they're on our side. Though I must warn you, Crosshairs has... a unique personality."
"Imagine Ironhide taking on an entire battalion of orcs," David added with a grin. "He's a weapon specialist, kind of like Legolas, but... metal. And he has a knack for firearms."
Gimli laughed heartily. "A metal warrior? Now that, I'd like to see."
Éomer, still doubtful, asked, "And how can we be sure that the Hidden Leaf's shinobi and these 'Autobots' will be enough to make a difference?"
Liv nodded, acknowledging his concern. "They'll bolster our numbers, giving us a chance against Sauron's forces."
As they discussed, Gimli glanced over and noticed Liv breastfeeding Gabby. His gaze lingered in quiet curiosity, but Legolas caught the look and immediately shot Gimli a sharp side-eye.
"Gimli," Legolas said, his tone almost warning, "eyes off my sister."
With a smirk, Legolas tossed Liv a cloak. "Liv, cover up. You don't want that perverted dwarf staring at you."
Liv chuckled as she draped the cloak over herself. "Legolas, really," she said, rolling her eyes. "Gimli's just curious. It's not like I haven't seen dwarves before."
Nearby, Lily tried not to laugh, stifling her giggles with her hand.
"Don't encourage him, Lily," Liv chided, smiling down at her daughter.
"Sorry, Mommy," Lily replied with a grin. "Can I have my iPad?"
Liv nodded, chuckling. "Sure, it's in my bag. Bring it here, and I'll put in the passcode."
Lily quickly darted over to the bag, pulling out the iPad and handing it to Liv. Once Liv unlocked it, she smiled at her daughter. "Stay here while you use it, alright?"
"Okay, Mommy," Lily said, settling beside her mother.
David came over, offering to help. "Do you want me to take Gabby for a while?"
"Thanks, hon," Liv replied, carefully handing their youngest daughter to David.
Legolas watched them with a slightly suspicious look, but Liv noticed and shot him a withering glare. "Legolas, stop it. David is the father of my children. Do I need to remind you of that?"
With a sigh, Legolas raised his hands defensively. "Alright, alright... no need to slap me again."
Theoden, watching this exchange, raised an eyebrow. "Am I to understand there is some... history here?"
Liv laughed. "You could say that. My brother here has always been a bit overprotective, to put it mildly."
"Overprotective bozo is more like it," she added, smirking at Legolas.
"Who are you calling a bozo?" Legolas retorted.
David chuckled, shaking his head. "Where's Saya when you need her?" he asked, half-joking.
Liv grinned. "Oh, she'd knock some sense into Legolas, alright."
Gimli chuckled, joining the banter. "I don't know who's worse—Liv or her cousin."
David grinned, leaning in closer. "I'd have to say Liv. She can be quite... intense."
Lily piped up proudly, "My dad's right! My mom once beat up a whole group of rogue ninjas."
Liv waved her hand dismissively. "I had help with that mission, Lily."
David nodded, leaning back. "True, but I'm pretty sure you could've handled it on your own with a Genjutsu."
Aragorn's curiosity was piqued. "Genjutsu? You've mentioned shinobi before... but what exactly is Genjutsu?"
"Genjutsu," Liv explained, "is one of the three main shinobi battle techniques. It's essentially an illusion technique used to manipulate the opponent's senses."
Aragorn nodded thoughtfully. "Fascinating. It seems your homeland holds many mysteries."
Liv nodded. "And if Legolas gets out of line again, I'll be happy to give him a demonstration," she said with a wink.
Legolas's face paled. "Please, no... anything but that."
Liv laughed, rolling her eyes. "Relax, Legolas. Gale Palm doesn't even do that much damage."
"Not much damage?" Legolas retorted. "You nearly took my head off last time!"
Liv smirked, crossing her arms. "You're being dramatic. Besides, that was because you tried to take down David, remember?"
Aragorn looked puzzled. "Legolas tried to kill David? Why?"
Liv sighed. "When he asked me to help at the Battle of Helm's Deep, I was secretly pregnant with Gabby. We decided to keep it a secret... but Legolas found out after the battle and went into overprotective mode."
She shot her brother a glare. "If he keeps this up, I'll ban him from seeing the kids," she said with mock seriousness. "And he'll be lucky if Ironhide doesn't turn him into scrap."
David chuckled, nodding. "Ironhide wouldn't hesitate if Legolas crossed a line."
With that, the company shared a laugh, the camaraderie among them growing as they prepared for the impending battle. And amid the planning and the good-natured teasing, they found a moment of light, each of them understanding that they were not just warriors but a family.
