Oaths Fulfilled
Outside the walls of the city, Gandalf, Pippin, and the rest of the group approached the vast Army of the Dead, their ghostly figures looming ominously in the distance. Aragorn stood resolutely in front of them, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword.
The King of the Dead, tall and foreboding, spoke with an eerie voice that echoed through the stillness. "Release us," he commanded, his eyes glowing with an ethereal light.
"Bad idea," said Gimli, crossing his arms over his chest as he glanced toward the King. "These lads are useful in a tight spot, despite the fact they're dead."
"Yes, I must agree with Gimli," added Liv, her eyes narrowing as she studied the army. "They're definitely an asset in battle."
"I second that," said David, his arms folded. "We'd be foolish to send them away so soon."
The King of the Dead's eyes flashed with anger at the objections. "You gave us your word," he insisted.
Aragorn, standing tall and unwavering, met the King's gaze. "I hold your oath fulfilled," he declared. "Go. Be at peace."
A tense silence hung in the air before the King of the Dead smiled, his sharp teeth glinting. With a sudden gust of wind, the army vanished into the ether, leaving only the echoes of their departure.
Aragorn turned to Gandalf, a tired but satisfied smile on his face. "Well, that was certainly an adventure."
Gimli let out a low whistle, still in disbelief. "I never thought I'd see the day. A whole army of ghosts just... poof!" He gestured wildly. "And gone."
Pippin, ever the curious one, stepped forward with a smile, "That was incredible! They just disappeared like smoke."
"Indeed," Gandalf said, his eyes twinkling. "It's not every day one has a conversation with the King of the Dead."
Aragorn chuckled, looking around at his companions. "I suppose we've all had our share of strange encounters. But let's not waste time standing around."
"Damn, this was such a drag," muttered Shikamaru from the back of the group, stretching his arms lazily as he gazed up at the sky.
"Oh, shut up, you lazy bum!" Temari snapped, glaring at him. "You've been complaining the whole time. I'm still mad at you for that last mission."
Shikamaru sighed, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Can't win with you, can I?"
Legolas, overhearing the exchange, turned to his sister, Liv, a bemused look on his face. "Are they always like this?"
Liv, rolling her eyes, nodded. "Yeah, pretty much. I still don't know why they're even together."
"You get used to being around these guys," David chimed in, shaking his head with a smile. "I've learned to just accept it."
"I still don't understand how my cousin ended up with someone like you," Sasuke remarked, casting a sidelong glance at David, his tone dry.
Liv raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "Sasuke, do I have to Lightning Blade you?"
Sasuke smirked, uncrossing his arms and stepping forward. "You do realize we both know that jutsu, right?"
"That may be true," Liv said, grinning, "but I'm still ranked above you."
"Oh really?" Sasuke replied, the edge of challenge in his voice.
Itachi, who had been standing silently by, shook his head. "Don't get involved, Sasuke. This is between them."
Liv turned to Itachi with a mock pout. "Itachi, I thought you were the older sibling. Shouldn't you be the one to stop this?"
Itachi merely shrugged. "Don't look at me."
Naruto, who had been watching the exchange with amusement, stepped forward, hands on his hips. "Maybe I need to Rasengan him," he said with a grin.
"Don't even think about it," Liv warned, pointing a finger at him. "He may be annoying as hell, but he's still my cousin."
Gimli, who had been quietly listening, looked at the group with a raised eyebrow. "Wait, Liv is related to that guy?" he asked, his voice filled with surprise.
"Yes, his mother was somehow related to my mom," Liv replied with a sigh, crossing her arms. "Don't remind me."
Sasuke's face darkened slightly at the mention of his family. "I don't want to talk about it."
Sakura, standing a little behind Sasuke, sighed and gave him a gentle nudge. "Sasuke, you do realize that our daughter is best friends with Liv and David's girls, right?"
Sasuke narrowed his eyes, clearly still not thrilled with the idea of family connections being brought up. "I don't know how you ended up with all of them," he muttered.
David smiled, looking over at his friends. "You get used to it. Trust me."
"Alright, that's enough," Tsunade interjected, her voice rising as she stepped forward. "You guys need to stop bickering, or do I need to punch all of you into the ground?"
Shikamaru grinned lazily. "That's the thing with Tsunade—always the threat of violence."
"It's not a threat, it's a promise," Tsunade shot back, her eyes glinting dangerously.
Temari leaned over to Shikamaru, whispering, "I don't think she was joking."
"Yeah, I figured," Shikamaru muttered, hands in his pockets, looking unbothered but clearly prepared to dodge if necessary.
Haldir, who had been observing the group with mild amusement, finally spoke up. "I must say, I've never seen such an odd combination of warriors before. But there's no doubt you are all powerful."
Legolas chuckled softly. "You get used to them, eventually."
Haldir gave a small smile. "I suppose one must."
David leaned toward Legolas and whispered, "Do you think Aragorn's really done with them now?"
Legolas nodded. "I believe so. But with this lot, who can ever be sure?"
Gimli, overhearing the conversation, let out a loud laugh. "Aye, that's the truth. But if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that I'm glad we're all on the same side."
