Chapter 8

Hey friends! It's Araina ! 👋🙋‍♀️How's it going? Due to the ongoing pandemic situation, I had to attend a whole bunch of online classes and download a number of applications on my phone. Due to lack of storage space, I had to uninstall Wattpad for a while. But, now the problem is solved and I'm back in Wattpad 💃. So many things has happened in between. RIP Sushant Singh Rajput 😟 and I pray for justice to the deceased. Are you all excited for 'Dil Bechara?'

Also, is there anyone missing Tiktok? 🤣 or Like?

Also, Amitabh Bachhan is the national patient of India, according to some people 😂 Hope he recovers soon and leaves some space for other news. I also pray for the people of Assam who are affected by the flood. May things get back to normal soon. 🙏🏻

Anyway, with all stories pending for the comments section, let me move on to my story. This small chapter is almost like a filler since I have lost the pace of this story which I hope to regain soon.Hope you have a good read 😚

Everything went pretty smooth after Hardik and I made our new deal for the period both of us are gonna share the house. My mission was not to get Rahul's blood pressure increase by even one mmHg and it better be Hardik's too.  Rahul was happy and apparently, so was I. Hardik and I would only cross paths while having the dinner. Hardik, being Hardik would go on cracking distasteful jokes on women and sexuality and I had to digest that while grabbing hard onto my fork. He's sometimes wish me 'good night' and I would reluctantly do the same.

As for the work life, the hospital was really good. Dr. Ambolkar, in, particular was amazing to work with. He was disciplined yet not strict. From the last ten days of service, what I realized was that Dr. Ambolkar was even bigger than what I heard of him. He's diagnose the severe cases just by having a look. 'A walking x-ray machine' was what they called him. Dr. Niyati and Dr. Rajnish were the other doctors in his team. Dr. Rajnish barely spoke with people and maintained a formal relationship with all. But, whenever, I needed a help, he was always there. Dr. Niyati, too, was a charming person. In these ten days, I've learnt a lot from her about how to boost a reluctant patient for undergoing a therapy. Truly saying, they all were amazing. Dr. Chandrashekhar often calls and asks me about my new workplace. I could say he has already sang a lot of praise for me to his friend Dr. Ambolkar.

My parents were slightly relaxed knowing I was doing well in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. But, then again, daily at 9:30 I would have a video call with my family where my mom would start crying a river pointing out the 0.000000000025 gms of weight I appear to have lost.

All was well but I missed the fun I had in Mangaluru, the familiar shops, vadas, arguing with Bhavna, playing chess with Dad, mom sharing her emotional marriage plans for me and Bhavna. I sighed. I miss them. Here, I was happy but there was a certain gap that needed to be felt. Rahul would remain outside the house most of the time and evn though it doesn't matter, so does Hardik....thanks to the promotion of their respected IPL teams. Yes, I was alone. My colleagues were supportive but there was nobody I could hang out with in break. I remember Suzi, Joy and Vandana from Mangaluru. Suzi was a nurse and Joy and Vandana were young interns like me. We used to get along a lot. Sometimes we would go out in a restaurant or even watch a movie together. Whenever they felt I was sad, they'd always ask me questions and even if I didn't answer, they'd always find away to make me smile. Joy even messaged me last night. Poor guy heard some harsh words from Dr. Samundara yesterday.

I had a break and I decided to get something to eat in the cafeteria, once again alone. I ordered a cheese sandwich and a can of sprite. That'd do since I'm not much addicted to outside food.

'May I sit here?' I heard a certain female voice. I looked up from my sandwich and saw a girl around my age holding a beautiful smile. She was wearing a simple top with a contrasting jacket. Have I seen her somewhere before? (pic ^)

'Sure.' I said and she took across me. She seemed to have brought lunch from her house.

She opened the hot-case and a certain homely aroma spread across, which of couse, wasn't welcomed by many.

'I've got poha. My aai never lets me out without my lunch.' she  explained before I could ask.

'That's good.' I said with a smile. At least she's got her mother near her to make her lunch.

'You want some?' she said lifting her spoon up.

Well, that was unexpected. I shook my head. 'No. May be some other day. I'm full today.' I said pointing to my half eaten sandwich.

The girl nodded. 'Okay..she said taking her first spoon. You may think I should feel annoyed but trust me, this was the first time anyone has ever acted friendly with me ever since I came here.

'By the way, I'm Kavya. Kavya Dixit, one of the receptionists of this block.' she said with a mouth full.

I looked at her and recalled. Oh! That's the reason I felt I saw her.

'Oh! wow! I'm...'

'I know who you are. You are KL Eshaanvi, the new physiotherapist in Dr. Ambolkar's team.' she said with a smile.

I smiled. 'Oh...I know. You all keep records of everything.' I said sipping into my sprite can.

'We do but your case is different. Like, I know a lot about you. Apart from the fact that you are KL Rahul's younger sister, I know that you are a quite and tolerant person who is true to her ethics and often hides her emotions to herself so that others aren't bothered. You previously worked in  Mangaluru City Hospital and you were one of the best physiotherapists over there. In fact, it was one of the doctors from the hospital who recommended you to Dr. Ambolkar.' she said charmingly.

Now, I was feeling a little creepy about her.

'Wow! That's a good....observation, if I may say not knowing your source for that..' I said with an awkward smile.

Kavya giggled. 'Not actually. Okay...let me be honest. My aunt is a senior physiotherapist in Mangaluru city hospital and it's her who told me all these stuffs. You know she was all so praises about you that she asked me to learn some discipline from you when I meet you.' she said continuing with her poha.

'Really? Who's your aunt?' I asked curiously.

Kavya giggled again. 'The lady of the ocean...now guess..' she said.

My jaw hung.

'Dr. Samundara! No way! She praised me!' I asked amazed.

'Yepp and also she said that she has never ever got a junior doctor under her in her career. By the way, she also said you are a kind of girl any boy would like to marry. I must take notes from you.' she winked.

I chuckled. 'Oh my gosh! Dr. Samundara did say she had a niece in this hospital but I can never imagine her saying those stuffs.' I said in disbelief.

'That might be because some people are very good at showing what they are not and very bad at showing what they actually are.' Kavya shrugged.

I scoffed. 'You're right.' I said finishing my sprite and sandwich. 'By the way, the lunch time is over and I'm  afraid I must go.' I said . 'It was really nice knowing you Kavya.' I said genuinely.

'Same here. And I guess you should hang out more. In this way, it'll be easy for me to pick out your follies and present them to my aunt.' she winked with a big smile.

I chuckled. 'Sure. And good luck with that.' I said before starting to walk towards the elevator.

She seems like a nice and light hearted girl. I guess we could be friends. I looked back at her again to see she was waving at me. I waved too with a smile.
