Chapter 10

Hey there! Araina here again with a quick update 😅 Enjoy 😘😘😘

///////////////////////

'And I hate him! And you know what... I just can't bear seeing his face anymore. I don't know how he turns up with such smart ideas and creates a breach between me and Rahul every time I try to expose him.' I burst out my emotions in front of Kavya who just looked so indifferent despite everything.

For a week now, Kavya and I have become really friendly. She was a genuinely good-hearted bubbly girl who could make you smile even in your oddest moments. Initially, I couldn't or rather didn't open up to her as much as she did. But, now...I guess she's my only option.

'And is that the reason, you want to search a PG for you?' She asked sipping into her coffee.

'Of course! Why else? Look at me. I've got the dark circles and today, while treating that lady, I felt I was gonna fall asleep in the bed next to her. Can you imagine what his orgasmic phone sex has done to my sleep? I have to mop the table every time he decides to feed snacks to it alongside himself. I have to sort the living room for two straight hours on every alternate days just to find that jerk's jacket, T-shirt or even his socks hidden somewhere there. He's such a....Ugh! I just hate him, Kavya. I really do.' I banged the table hard, forgetting the increasing attention of others in the canteen in our conversation.

'Hush!' Kavya placed her fingers on her lips looking around, visibly embarrassed. 'Relax Eshaanvi! We are at a public place, remember? And worst of all, you are a doctor in here..' she reminded.

A sense of embarrassment hit me instantly and I looked down sighing. 'I'm sorry but the guy just gets under my skin and I want to live peace at a place far far away from him. I...I just hate him so much!' I shared my decision.

Kavya frowned. 'You got to be kidding me, girl! Hardik Pandya! The hottest thing in Indian cricket right now. He lives the wall next to you. You got to hear his manly voice everyday, you got to admire his hunky looks from so near and damn! you could even catch a glimpse his toned sexy...'

'Enough!' I stopped Kavya before she could break all barriers of her midnight fancies. 'Here I am trying to find a solution to my problem and there you are blurting your school girl fancies about the man that is the root of my problem. I..I came to you because I thought you could be the only 9ne I could confide in while I'm in Mumbai. But, look at you.. I guess it's my mistake that..' I attempted to stand up but Kavya held my hand.

'Mmm...' she urged me to stay while trying hard to swallow down the pakodas filled in her mouth. 'Mmwait.' She gulped some water.

I looked at her distressed and finally set down.

'Eshaanvi! I'm sorry for my letting my romantic self out in front of you this way but..' Kavya paused. 'He's Hardik fucking Pandya and he isn't actually harming you in any way. How could you just hate him? If I were at your place...'

'Oh please, come at my place..' I couldn't help myself blurt. 'Get up in the morning, see his dumbass smile, clench your fist in silence while he taunts you with his double meaning jokes, hear him boast about his girlfriends, be a silent audience to his sexcapades over phone, remain calm at every messy and manner less acts of his pretending you lost your eyes and ears at the battle of Panipat.' I narrated my situation.

Kavya's jaw hung open. She gave me a pitiful look and pushed the bottle of water towards me.

'I got it.' Kavya said as I drank. 'You are quite different from girls your age and that's probably the reason you couldn't find Hardik appealing and...' she stopped as I glared at her with wrath after putting the bottle down.

'Um..I mean, Eshaanvi! I think you are giving too much of your attention to the stress in your life.' She said as if changing the topic.

Not working!

'So, you can't help me find a place to lodge in?' I tried to get the conclusion.

Kavya shook her head. 'Oh no..no no..Eshaanvi, you're getting it all wrong. I can definitely help you find a place but I only feel that it could turn up as an impulsive decision you'd regret later. Just think about your brother! What's his fault? Moreover, every time I see him in TV, it seems he's gonna cry out a river of his agonies. So, to ...'

'Wait! Are you making fun of my brother, now?' I asked losing my calm. 'Listen Kavya, my brother might be suffering the affects of a bad company right now, but he's a gem of a person. He's not a show-off like some idiots and he's a person anybody would love to have by his or her side.' I said.

True. No matter how much Rahul annoys me, at the end of the day, he's my brother. My sweet, innocent, protective big brother and I love him so so much.

'That's the point.' Kavya said with a smirk. 'See...how defensive you went for your brother, you're sure you can leave his side and reside anywhere else in Mumbai?' She asked, making my heart jump.

Mumbai! Without Rahul by my side! No! No way! But, that jerk Hardik...He seems to have planning to stay at Rahul's place forever and that's what my problem is!

Instantly, his arrogant face with that stupid smirk flashed in front of me.

The day we met, the day I first saw him in a towel with a girl, the day he caught hold of me and I dropped my towel and ..Ugh! I HATE HIM.

But, Rahul...Why doesn't he understand that Hardik is the worst friend in this world?

'What? Did you make up your mind?' Kavya said waving a hand before my unmindful face.

I bit my lips and looked down. 'Uh...I'm gonna drag Rahul with me in that case. Hardik may have the house.' I said preserving both my enotion and my ego.

Kavya chuckled. 'Aww! You're such a cutie! Don't worry! I know exactly what your problem is and I've got a solution for this as well.' She said getting up from her chair and standing by me.

'And that would be?' I asked bored.

'That'd be taking momentary breaks from your monotonous life. Work-Home, Home-Work...that's what you have been doing ever since you came to Mumbai and that's what has frustrated you. So...I suggest you to get some fun into your boring life.' She said.

I gave her a cross look. 'Does that mean alcohol and bar in here? In that case, I belong to a very orthodox Kannad family and I'm off the limit.' I said looking with disgust.

Kavya frowned as well. 'Woah! What do you mean by in here? You think, people in Mumbai has their fun only through bars and pubs?' She asked getting a little defensive. 'No sunshine! I too belong to an orthodox Brahmin family and even I'm prohibited to go there. But, guess what? One's lifestyle is one's own choice and we never judge them for that! That's what the spirit of Mumbai is all about.' She raised her hands in air with a proud smile.
'But to know about that, you are to get down from the shell of your monotony life and explore our beauty in the truest form.' She said.

I looked at her surprised. I knew her city spirit foreshadowed me at this moment and I felt a little insecure about my last comment.

'So, what do you suggest? Explore Mumbai and forget Pandya?' I turned to the lighter topic.

'Yep. And that'll start with us going shopping tomorrow. You're ready?' She asked leaning down with her bubbly smile.

'Okay. Let's try the distraction technique...' I smile and sighed.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

'....Maami I never seen a type of girl wey do me like you do
No be game I dey play no be shooby dooby doo
O girl I'm so into you
Nothing wey no baga fit to do..'

I heard the jerk sing out loud with the headphones on. That's coming from the living room.

Ugh! I'm trying to read a book for god sake!

I rolled out of my bed and rushed out of my room.

'Hardik!' I shouted reaching the living room. 'Hardik! Stop barking! I already told you DO NOT DISTURB. I'm trying to read something.' I spat loudly in anger.

'She go show
Yea she go show
Yea she go show..' Hardik continued grooving himself with the beats; his eyes closed and ears closed for me.

'Hardik, are you listening?' I screamed leaning to the couch he sat on.

The same reaction..

My blood was definitely boiling bad. I decided to snaych his iPod but then, something else hit my ears. I looked around to see the TV turned on as well. A certain Hollywood movie was turned on and nobody cared how long it's been played.

'This guy!' I muttered and switched off the TV.

'Hardik! Listen...' I shouted and finally took the decision to touch his unholy headphones and snatch them off his ears.

This made the jerk open his eyes abruptly. 'Dafuk Esh!' He said in dissatisfaction. 'The song was just going to get be finished.!'

My teeth gritted and I threw him the dirtiest look possible. 'Song, eh? I've been calling you for last five minutes and all you could hear were songs! Shame on you! And...what's with the TV? You seriously left it on? Do you have any idea about electricity conservation? No. Of course not...You don't even have an idea on the person around you for last five minutes. What else can I expect?' I burst.

'Woah! You seriously need some therapy, tweety..' Hardik frowned leaning himself more on the couch. 'The thing is, I did feel your presence and your voice kinda reached my ears too. But, I just thought you weren't saying anything important, as usual..' he shrugged smugly.

My fists clenched.

'Oh! So, you mean it's fine to be consumed in your iPod with the TV on and without caring if someone around is getting disturbed?' I fumed.

He smirked. 'Just look at your face tweety! I'm sure somebody had a bad day. Everything okay at work?' He questioned trying to blame it all on my mood.

I scoffed in annoyance.

'Of course, not. I almost fell asleep while treating a patient, because you..Mr. Pandya didn't let me sleep last night.' I pointed my index finger at him.

Hardik looked at my face confused and then at my finger and then stretched his arms and suddenly, stood up on his feet leaving not even an inch between us.

'What the...?'

Suddenly, I felt his arms wrap around me. 'Oh really babe? I didn't let you sleep last night, huh?' He smirked. 'But, we sure had some good time.' He winked.

My eyes were about to bulge out of the sockets as I realized his innuendo. 'You little leach...' I shrugged his hands off and took the remote from the nearby table hitting Hardik hard on his arm.

'Woah! Esh....Didn't you yourself say I didn't let you sleep..woah..stop!' I hit him again and again..

'How dare you? Not even in creepiest joke ever include me in your dirty deeds...' I burst the remote on his back as he tried to escape.

'...uhh..and I was referring to me and Nattie, when I said we. It's you who's taking everything wrong.' He retained his lies even at this time.

'Oh..really..? Huh? Don't you have guys to accept the truth?' I pulled on his T-shirt from behind, majorly aiming to toss him to the floor.

'Woah! Esh..let me go....my queen..' he continued his awful sense of humor. I pulled on to him hard, not caring the considerable amount of weight difference between us.

'Relax! You're going to heart yourse...' He turned around hastily and just then I heard the door knob twist that distracted me momentarily, letting the idiot slip away but I caught hold off him immediately, making him lose his balance and fall on the couch, unfortunately, taking me with him. Ugh!

'You got to be crazy, Esh..' he murmured through the 'intense' pain he pretended to have being fallen on the couch.

'Crazy! Now, I'm the one crazy, huh!' I now got hold of his T-shirt from the front as I laid over him. 'You bloody nymphomaniac..'

'What's going on here?' The third voice emerged from nowhere, making both of us shift our gazes to see an utterly confused Rahul eyeing us in awe.

I followed his gaze and realized Hardik's hand still had a firm grip on my waist and my hands clutching and detaching Hardik's T-shirt off his skin.

Shit! I guess Hardik realized the same because soon, I felt him moving his hands off me. I too released my hold off his T-shirt almost immediately.

Rahul walked nearer as I managed to sit up. 'What are you two doing here? Harry! Esh..what's all about the shouts and screams I came hearing from the ground floor?' He asked.

I stood up about to give my explanation but before my mouth could open, someone else's did.

'Why don't you ask your dumb-head sister about it, Rahul?' Hardik spoke sitting up. 'Not being able to stand her monotonous life, she's now after the lives of every other man in India. Do you know, she tried to..' Hardik winced holding the place on his arm where I hit him with the remote.

'Rahul! Don't listen to him. I'll tell you what happened.' I said walking near my brother.

Rahul's eyes now roamed all over the room. 'Yes but...who broke the remote?' He asked looking at the carnage on the floor.

Shit!

I almost broke into tears.
LOOK WHAT YOU MADE ME DO.

'Kōpagoḷḷabēḍi Anna..' I ran to hug Rahul as my tears rolled. 'I'll tell you everything. The remote...'

'Yah...tell him. Tell him the truth now. Rahul, not just the man, even the inanimate objects are feeling threatened in this house for your sister.' Hardik picked up his headphones from the floor, still wincing in pain which of course, was exaggerated.

'I tell you, no guy would ever agree to even date her, let alone marry.' He finally said sparing me a distasteful glance before walking to 'his' room.

'Harry! What are you..?' Rahul tried to call him but I hugged him tighter. 'Let him go. Please, don't leave me.' I said desperately trying to hold on to my brother.

'Yeah..uh...okay fine. Please, don't cry Esh..' Rahul patted my head affectionately. I wailed out loud letting out my agonies.
