Shortly after they went to market, Natalie and Missy returned to their home with a saddening feeling, witnessing the death of the Homolocephale was indeed recalling but also quite disturbing. But it reminded them that dinosaurs are just like modern animals now, they're out in the wild facing every danger deer or bears face, in this case, a small dinosaur could compare to a raccoon or a possum, considering they are most likely to be run over and killed by a high-speed vehicle, however, one thing that wasn't mentioned before is the fact that it was Thanksgiving and family members were set to visit.

Missy helped Natalie carry the groceries in, feeling bad for her demeanor with her guardian just a few moments earlier she then looked into her eyes saying, "I have to say, Natalie, you are strong." She proceeded to give her a comforting hug, but it didn't quite feel like there was a linking bond between them.

Even so, Natalie was grateful that the girl acknowledged the pty she felt for the roadkill, "Thank you, Melissa, I really needed that."

"Of course." Missy rolled a few steps back stating, "You know even if I shut myself out from the world, it does not mean I want to."

"That's totally plausible." Natalie nodded her head as she began sorting vegetables.

Missy then proceeded to head for her room, "Just remember, change is inevitable, we just have to move on and adapt."

Natalie observed the girl shutting the door flinching with the strength she used to do so. She dropped the knife caressing her cheeks with a lot of weight. In spite of the somewhat peace they've had for the last three years, Natalie would sometimes feel like she was experiencing all those life-threatening scenarios again, she could feel the wind blowing through her hair, the chills, and even the scars left on her body felt like they were fresh, luckily the people around her made her forget about all the bad things in life.

Her contemplating would be interrupted by the stiff footsteps coming from Everett and Alice, Roosters runs in right after as Alice secures him inside a tiny enclosure. Natalie soon zones back in chopping carrots on a wooden board, "Hey, where were you guys?"

"On a hike." Alice removed her hiking boots leaving them on the floor, "It was beautiful."

"Oh?" Natalie became interested in what she had to say, "What was that you saw that was so magnificent."

Everett joined her I'm in the kitchen assisting in the making of the Thanksgiving  dishes, "A family of Magyasaruses."

 The woman dropped her jaw entirely, "Holy shit, what?" She laughed out of complete surprise, "Where? Do you mean like by the creek? Near our house?"

"Yes." Alice responded as she drank an entire cylinder of water, "They went the opposite way though."

"Wish I could be that lucky." Natalie responded while disposing of the carrot slices inside a bowl, "Missy and I, we Uhm, we saw a dinosaur roadkill, yeah."

Everett gave her a side look, "Nat that must've been horrible."

"It was." Natalie sighed once more, "But what can we do about it? They're animals and when do animals get the right to be safe?"

Everett pondered about her statement, realizing how true it is even if it's considered to be the darkest of them all. He approached her with a sad look, "This is the world we live in, it's cruel, humans do undescribable actions. Never forget that even the smallest of changes can be considered the largest of deeds."

Suddenly Missy rolled out of her bedroom with a frightened look on her face, "Someone's here." She said as if she had been on an exhilarating adrenaline-taking dinosaur adventure once more, she took a deep breath saying with more clarity, "They are here."

The four individuals step out of the house standing on the porch as they observe two cars parked next to each other by the garage. Inside the smaller car came Everetts's parents, Mindy and Montgomery Carter riding directly from Kentucky, Mindy had a stronger build with light ginger hair with pearl necklaces running down her chest, and Montgomery had the simplest outfits of all, a flannel shirt, jeans, a belt and most importantly a classic Southern hat.

In the larger car, the Young family was coming off the board. He Young the father appeared to be in his late 50s, with a strong Chinese accent and the sweetest looks on his face, next to him was his girlfriend Sasha Chen who appeared to be quite younger in her late 40s,  and the most surprising of them all, Natalie's stepsister, Hannah Chen.
