Back at the tropical treetops of Nosy Lehibe, the crew was getting equipped for their long yet short expedition around the island. The sunlight shined on the humid pavement which caused the volunteers to prevent themselves from getting sunburnt and bitten by mosquitoes with sprays. The base camp was getting loaded back into the cargo plane as their intention was to get the information and leave as soon as possible since this is no place to sleep in or have a short vacation, even though it is considered to be a tropical paradise, its not material for a dwelling system.
Waden changed from his formal attire to a more field-appropriate fit, including a fishing hat which presumably caught the other's attention. Yvelisse borrowed some equipment from the team as she was caught unprepared by her unexpected ally. The team's commander fixed his very handy vest as he traced the steps to the trail the exploring team was going to follow. Madden picked up the tablet and spoke out to the recruits, "Alright we're leaving in two minutes, our first destination is the watering hole located East, then we will be heading Northeast where the feline lurks, that leads us Southwest to avoid a stone forest, when we get past the forest we head North to the Terror Birds territory, Northwest will take us to the bay and as we head West we can spot some of the displaced animals on the island."
"Wow, that sounds extensive." Yvelisse commented, "Judging by the distance between each of these points? Wouldnt it takes at least an entire day? Considering this is the morning and we reach the loading docks at night, a raptor-filled territory, how is that considerably safe?"
"Ms. Mora." Madden approached the young woman placing his hand on her shoulder, "I'm aware of your expertise but we are also professionals we trained to be in this position, my guys have all encountered dinosaurs before."
"Nasutoceratops herd." Susan exclaimed as she revealed a huge scar on her gut, "Wasnt easy but wasn't hard."
"Carnotaurus and Allosaurus." Mica lifted his pants and revealed a prosthetic leg, "If you insist."
Yvelisse then motioned her head to the pilot sleeping inside the cargo plane, "What about him."
"One of his eyes got mauled by a group of displaced compies and juvenile Moros." Madden told her attempting to give the woman a lesson, "Now that you see, we all lost something from these creatures. But that's no reason to blame them all."
"What exactly are you people." Yvelisse dodged his hand and stepped back.
Madden took a big sigh and licked his lips in a neurotic way, "It doesn't matter who we work for, what matters is what we're fighting for."
Waden gulped his concerns and stepped into the conversion, "Alright, she understands it now thank you for the clarification, Mr. Madden."
"Good to know." The man clocked his oversize gun and motioned his hands to the trail, "Follow behind me."
The team followed the man as he led them through the thick African jungle there were bugs and creatures lurking around every corner. Unexpectedly a couple of Diplocaulus rushed out of a shrub into a swamp located on the opposite side of the foliage. Madden looked back at the team signaling for them to stay calm, however, Yvelisse still thought there was something shady about these people she just couldn't put her finger on it yet.
"Fascinating." Mica observed the surroundings, "These plants are millions of years old and fit just right into the environment."
"Silence." Madden charged at the recruit, "We are approaching the primary location. Prepare the cameras and let's get some proof."
The group began to kneel down to foliage level as they stood on a hill tall enough to have a good view of the watering hole and the species drinking from it. A small community of Giganotospinosauruses bathing in the watering hole. A Styracosaurus family grazing from some prehistoric herb along with smaller Cerapsiasian like Protoceratops.
"Microceratus?" Mica wondered as he prepared his GoPro.
Madden shook his head no, "That one ain't on the list, that's a Protoceratops."
A large herd of Struthiomimus flocked around the spacious field while some larger startled Diplodocus ran from something much larger and threatening, the Terror Birds had migrated from the North to the very East of the island.
"Uh oh." Susan complained as she lowered her camera equipment, "This is really bad."
The Alpha Terror Bird proceeded to snatch a Struthiomimus from the floor and rip it to pieces with the help of its mate, later dropping the corpse off the floor for its offspring to feed. The remaining herbivores fled from the watering hole back into hiding estimating that something would occur to them.
"What do we do now?" Waden asked concerned about the looks of this situation.
Madden stood up and turned his back from the sight, "We move on to the bay, we can simply follow Northwest this way."
Yvelisse glared at the man before taking a final look at the Terror Birds, Waden was paralyzed by those creatures they had done much to his mental health and now he was glad he wouldn't have to deal with them up and close so he simply followed the rules. As the team lost time with this, they focused on locations that seemed to be the best for the proof.
