It was impossible.
And yet, here she stood silent. Hands beginning to sweat even as they laid pressed against the two things that beat in obvious syncs of a heart... or two hearts, as it would seem. Her eyes widened from true realization, her lips quivering in a state of disbelief.
Just moments ago he had helped settle in her mind that she was in fact, awake; meaning none of this had been a dream. And if that were true, that honestly meant one of three things: one, being that she had truly slept with him. She'd actually slept with Eric Havok. It wasn't a dream, though she was still shaking from just that thought. And of course she realized the fact that she had imagined it all to be a dream was.. strange to say the least. Two, she was without a doubt pregnant. The morning sickness was evidence enough of that. And three, this glorious man before her had two-fudging heart beats!
That wasn't right. Two hearts?! There wasn't a person on this planet that had two hearts; it was unheard of. Though there were some extreme cases of people claiming they did. But you'd only hear about those if you were the type to stay up late nights, binge watching YouTube videos and eating cheeto-puffs.
And of course there was also one other possibility that could offer an explanation as to his two hearts. But that possibility was fictional.
Or at least she hoped so...
Separating herself from him, she stuttered out the question she wanted answered. "W-Why do you have two heart beats?"
His eyes widen for a moment before his facial features settled like a hard mask. "I-I-"
Fear of the unknown clouded her mind as he stuttered over his words and backed away from her. More questions collapsed inside her, continuously flowing from her lips in the same process. "The other night, when we, you know, your body.. It glowed. What the heck is that about?" She paused as she took a step closer to him. "Y-You actually glowed like a freaking glow stick. And that is in no type of way normal," Once again her eyes found his as he backed up into a dark corner, his breathing being heard loudly, his eyes showing a bit of fear as he stared back at her silently panicked. "And the fact that all of this felt like a dream. I mean if it wasn't for the fact that I'm-" For the third time Iris paused, afraid to say she was 'pregnant.' Taking a deep breathe, she continued talking..
"None of this makes any sense, Eric. I mean, why'd you come to me? How'd you even know where I live? We've barely spoken two words while at school and yet here we are... I can't help but feel like something is not right about this, about you. Starting with the fact that you glowed and just now, I've felt two freaking hearts beating in your chest!" By this time Iris had stepped into the dark side of her room with him.
"Iris," Eric shook his head as he breathed through his nose. His brain trying to find a way to explain himself. "You wouldn't be able to fully comprehend it." He stated simply.
"Then tell me I'm crazy. Because none of this is making sense! For crying out loud, I'm-"
"Iris? Why are you talking to yourself?" Her father's voice traveled through the area of the room just as her words finished. "-pregnant."
Iris paused in panic while her father's eyes widened as her words soaked into his mind. "Dad, I can explain." Tears pulled at her eyes as her father took another step into the room, his hands raised as if she were a animal that would scurry away. "Iris, honey who were you talking to?"
As if she'd just been slapped, Iris spun around only to come face to face with the wall. No. No.
"No, he was j-just here. He was standing right here! I know this may seem crazy dad, but I swear he was right here!" She cried as she frantically touched her wall as if it would reveal a secret door or something.
"Who Iris? Honey, you've been here by yourself the whole time. Nobody's been up here with you." He explained carefully, confused by his daughters crazed behavior. He knew something was wrong with her but he'd never would have guessed that she was losing her ever-loving mind.
