Chapter 6
Hey people! I like bread and I'm currently dreaming about it as I write!
Bread is good.
I sound like an idiot right now, so I'll just... erm. Yeah. I haven't written a prediction chapter in a while now, and yeah. I'll get... right to it.
Read on by the glare of your phone in the darkness of midnight!!! Or daylight. Or... you know, I think I'll just get on with the story.
P.S.
I have a Tumblr.
*pause for dramatic effect*
You should check it out..
If you want. But only if you want.

Cinder lept back, her muscles aching with fatigue. Her hair was pulled back into its normal messy ponytail, and her cheek had a streak of grease on it. She looked terrible, she knew, and she self consciously swiped at her cheek as she watched Kai out of the corner of her eye, his arms crossed and his lips twitching with words he was trying to hold back.
Wolf held out his hand calmly, his expression unreadable. "Again."
Cinder's fist collided with his palm, sending a shivering impact through her whole body, but Wolf didn't even flinch. "Again."
"That was good enough!" Cinder retorted, her patience spent after hours of training with an overly calm wolf man and an emperor watching amused on the sidelines. "That was definitely my best one yet."
"So it's not good enough," Wolf replied, frowning at her as if she were a child and he had to watch her,"Again. This time with more impact from your arm, not your fist. Your fist is the weapon, you are the wielder-"
"Okay," Cinder cut off, before he could start a whole talk about fighting and strategies,"I get it. I'll try harder next time, okay? But for now, can we please do some more important things? Like, I don't know, starting a rebellion?"
"She's right," Kai cut in from where he stood,"we kind of have to... Defeat an evil queen. Stop a deadly disease. Put all to justice."
Wolf glared at him, his green eyes sharp. "Cinder still has a lot to learn in the area of combat,"he growled, his voice itself almost wolflike,"and you're not helping."
"Right," Kai replied calmly,"I'll be helpful. And what I'm saying is, our best chance right now isn't making Cinder an athletic person... no offense, Cinder. We're lucky Levana's on Earth right now. But at any sign of us here, she'll come back. We need to work fast."
"You should listen, Wolf." A lazy voice accompanied Thorne as he entered the room. "Kai's being smart. It's a rare occurrence." He was holding a gun, tucked in his belt and right below his shirt. Occasionally, his fingers would brush the cold metal. His hair was tousled messily on one side.
Kai scowled at him. "Thanks, I guess. Anyways, Wolf, my point is that this isn't helping our cause right now."
Wolf looked like he was holding back a snarl, and he glared at the three of them. "Are you three holding some sort of resistance against me?"
Thorne looked like he was trying to hold back a smile, and he raised his arms in mock defeat. "Okay, you caught us. All right? We're just messing with you while our planet is under the threat of the very force we've been struggling to fight. We've obviously all got nothing better to do."
Cinder glared at him. "Not the time, Thorne. Really."
He shrugged carelessly.
She turned back to Wolf. "Come on, Wolf. Be honest. Is this training really helping at all?"
Wolf avoided her gaze, his eyes roaming the room at anywhere but hers, and she could sense his discomfort. "Well, it's-" He began, then paused. He seemed to be internally struggling with himself as he looked down at the ground and muttered,"Well, it certainly isn't."

The moon dust enveloped the air around her as Cinder jumped from the side of the ramp, her footprints creating marks on the soft ground. She had to wait for a while so the air would clear, and then she ran.
They were in an abandoned section of Luna, where the flat inhabited environment had not yet given way to society's demands. As Cinder's boots drew nearer and nearer to the line of city buildings she could see far away, she grew ever more tired. But she kept on. Saturn City was not as far as it seemed from this distance, and after a while she could see the buildings more clearly, able to mark every individual building and the smaller ones surrounding it.
The Rampion had landed about 10 miles away from Saturn City-a long run for her, but probably not for someone like Wolf. She had been practicing, though, and visited the city every day. The only problem was, it had been harder to gain a following than she had previously thought.
Once Cinder neared the city gates, she pulled the hoodie over her head, a pang resonating through her as the mere piece of clothing arose a memory of Scarlet. They still hadn't found her, yet, and with every day Cinder found time to seem more surreal and bleak. With every day, Scarlet could die. If she hadn't already.
She slipped past the guard that was posted at this very gate every afternoon, his eyes gleaming with recognition when he saw her familiar slumping, hooded figure. As she stepped onto the busy street, Cinder was nearly bowled over by a couple of Lunars rushing past, chasing what seemed to be a large hover. Upon closer inspection, a large, silver, war hover.
The sinking feeling in her stomach started up again, and her conscience told her to stay where she was. But Cinder ignored it, weaving through the crowd to follow the war ship.
The ship was hovering around the streets, passing street after street with no intention of stopping. There was already a crowd bunched around it, the Lunars peering curiously over heads as they watched it continue its path. They seemed to be waiting for something... something, but what?
Cinder stopped by a pedestrian on the sidewalk, his almost-golden eyes watching the surroundings, his eyes wide in anticipation. He was handsome, but in a warm, friendly-looking way, and she paused next to his booth. His small vehicle had several shiny, silver gadgets on them, all new technology no doubt previously procured from somewhere high-tech. "Excuse me, do you know what this is about?"
He turned to her, the orbs squinting as he took her in. Scruffy boots, hair escaping from her hood. Pale brown eyes, and gloves covering up her skin by habit. He smirked. "Notices have been up since this morning. Where have you been, under a rock?"
Not really, Cinder wanted to say. Just with a bounty over my head, and the threat of the evil Lunar queen destroying my only home. No big deal. Instead, she grumbled,"What's going on?"
He held up a finger and crouched behind his cart, rustling noises coming from inside as he looked through it. Finally, he stood and held out a plain silver portscreen, opening it up and swiping for a few seconds before stopping at the right page. He showed it to her.

"It's like an advertisement," Cinder muttered in disgust, reading the mass comm over and over again. Whoever had made this, they really wanted the people to care about finding them. And it had obviously worked. That, or the people were just too curious.
She couldn't help but notice that they didn't have a picture for any of them. Perhaps they would assume that Cinder would have glamoured all of them once reaching Luna. It would be the most obvious choice.
Clasping the hoodie tightly around her head, Cinder felt, once again, relieved that she had decided to wear the hood instead of glamour. This way, it wasn't foolproof. She couldn't lose hold of the disguise when her composure was lost.
She smiled grimly. Strange that, with a power to deceive even the powerful, she couldn't use it. Instead, she had to resolve to otherwise weak disguises.
Then again, nothing was particularly strange anymore. Strange in her old world, the world of falling in love with the prince and fixing up dresses, was now the usual in her new life.
For Cinder, everything had fallen apart.
