❤️️❤️️26 - Real Problems❤️️❤️️
Vikram was tired by the time he left the party. He was now driving back a now, sobered Jaanvi. Surprisingly, she was quiet this time. Vikram knew that everything inside was a little too much for her to take in. Yet, she was commendable today.
Vikram never revealed to her his status yet. She didn't know anything about him except he was a psychiatrist. She didn't know what else he did. The other part of his job was really confidential and he wasn't sure if he should reveal it to Jaanvi yet. He never revealed it to anyone. Even Shree didn't know his profession and he was thankful to that.
He made it his mission to only let his partner know about him after the marriage. At least there would be lesser dramas that way.
Knowing Jaanvi, she looked like she despised powerful people for many reasons. Maybe Arjun was one... But still, he didn't know why she disliked his persona. If anything, girls only liked that, he thought.
"How long more?" she asked quietly and Vikram checked his watch.
"Fifteen minutes." He replied dryly and took a quick gaze at her. She seemed to be in deep thoughts. It was as though her mouth was being tied from asking questions.
"Is your dad going to be mad if you return late?" he asked. He didn't know why he asked this question. Maybe he had these feeling that she was going to be in trouble. Or he just wanted to keep talking to her?
The funny thing about the whole day was, Vikram never questioned Jaanvi about their conversation at the table with his mother. It was like, they already had a silent agreement on things.
His mother really put him off mood. He didn't expect her to go such extents to put a girl down. Jaanvi was young and innocent. His mother stooping so low was the last thing he ever expected. If it was any other girl who was in that position, they would have broken into bits by his mother's harsh words. But Satan didn't.
That's the reason he wanted...no NEEDED a strong woman. Vikram always needed a strong woman to pull off a life with him. He wasn't the kind of man who would speak up for every single problem they had to face. He wanted his lady to fight her own battles. Vikram had too many things on hand to deal with and he himself wasn't an easy man.
Today, if anything, Jaanvi proved herself to him. She proved more worthy than any other woman he had ever met. He was impressed.
Vikram could see the internal battles that were running on her head. She was too silent and it was unnerving. He couldn't understand what was so hard. Just a few minutes ago, she was creating a ruckus in his life. But now, she looked like a cute little puppy who was cornered in the car. Well, knowing Jaanvi, her time was over.
Three, two, one...
"How are you so rich?" she easily ignored his question and asked him. Vikram almost felt his heartbeat stop. This was a sensitive topic for him.
"How's that important?"
"Well, how about you don't give me anymore stupid surprises like how your mum threw at me today?" she said and Vikram smiled. How? How the hell was she so sassy all the damn time?
"What's the surprise?" he feigned innocence once again.
"Vikram, it's not funny any longer. How about you stop doing this to me. I don't want to know about you. She speaks to me as if I am with you for your money. When I was designing a suite for you, you told me that you were on a budget. You know, I feel like a loser today? I need to know at least how rich you are!" she frowned and Vikram sighed heavily.
"Hmm, about a few billions?" he shrugged and she opened her eyes like she couldn't believe it.
"Are you doing some illegal business?" she asked quietly and Vikram shrugged.
"Would it bother you if I did?"
"Well, it won't. But I still have to know it." She looked at him with a suspicious look. He found her really cute when she gave him that 'I know you' look.
"I am doing nothing illegal... It's just that, I work under criminology department. I go to the prison and join the officers during interrogation, mostly to detect whenever they are lying. Apart from that, I am also a full time psychiatrist. I take charge of world mental health organisation from last year, which earns me quite a sum. That's about it... Oh, and I also help my dad with his catering. But that's his earning to be honest. I don't really care how much he earns." Vikram was casually explaining. He noticed how Jaanvi's face was filled with worry.
It was as though her brains muscles were all clamped together with the amount of problems.
"Jaan, are you there?" He suddenly parked the car in a corner and faced her. Her face was just worrying him now.
"VI. Jaanvi." She corrected and glared at him.
"Okay, so Jaanvi, what's your problem?"
"How about you ask me how much I earn?" she folded her arms and looked at him as though she wasn't happy with his statement. Vikram rolled his eyes and forced her hands out.
Once her right hand was out, he pulled it towards him and kissed the back of her palms softly.
"I don't fucking care how much you earn or how huge your family is. I don't even care if you are a billionaire's daughter. All I know is....You have my heart and I am working towards having yours." He replied which took her off-guard.
Jaanvi didn't know how to react. She didn't really expect Vikram to become so romantic like this. It was as though he a hidden side to him all of the sudden. Seeing him this way, made her so uneasy. She pulled her hands away and watched him gazing at her with a raised brow. She preferred it when he called her Satan.
"What if I don't work tomorrow? Like.... What if I can't get a job? What if I am really dependant on you?" she asked, fearing her life. It took her so much of guts to actually ask something like that.
"Then what? Then you have all of you, to all of me." He answered and Jaanvi's eyes flickered like she expected that answer. She was shocked, but she didn't let him see that.
Jaanvi kind of knew how his mind work. It was as though she was figuring out what kind of person he was. Jaanvi was smarter than what many people thought her of. She was too cluey of things.
"Will you be okay if I worked as a waitress in a club?" she asked and Vikram's eyes suddenly hardened. She so knew it....
"Over my dead body." he answered and it was chilling to hear him speak that way.
Jaanvi knew that Vikram had a possessive bone in him. The way he handled her and took care of her was sweet. But there was a constant danger lurking around him. It was as though she could feel it inside her mind. He had this dominant vibe whenever he became angry. The way he held her, kissed her or even spoke to her was daunting. It was like he owned her.
"Why not?"
"Because I said so." He said and she just nodded. Nice...
"Hmm, how about just a normal waitress?" she asked and Vikram's face was one of pure terror. She knew she should stop. But marrying a man who was this possessive wasn't a joke.
"How about you stop talking about waitressing?" he said dangerously and Jaanvi bit her lips. This was not what she was expecting.
"Can you tell me what type of jobs am I allowed to do?" she asked and his face changed.
"The type where you only look nice for me. Are your questions over now?" he asked with a blank face.
"Vikram, why do I feel that you are kind of the controlling types?" she asked and Vikram silently tapped his steering. It was as though he was having an internal count. Jaanvi frowned. She didn't even try to piss him off this time.
Vikram was really thinking of how to answer that. He was on his edge when she asked such questions. She was really smart in the sense, she asked him the right questions. She could be a better psychologist at times.
"What if I am the controlling type?" he made an eye-contact and asked her. He wanted to know this now and then. It was better if she knew it anyways.
Jaanvi bit her lips and moved a bit closer.
"How controlling?" she whispered and Vikram's blue eyes got her attention all over again. He was so intrigued with this lady that no one was going to match it for another hundred years.
"Very controlling.... It's not as fairytale-like as it sounds, Jaanvi. I hate it when you flirt with guys or guys flirt with you, even if it's for a joke. I dislike the idea of sharing even when it comes to being close-friends. There's a time and limit for everything and I do not like the idea of going against it. I can become a crazy man if I find out that you do any of these things against my will. When I come to know that my time is being shared with useless things, I can go to crazy extents. I can become really mad and trust me, you would never want to be under my bad side." He warned and Jaanvi could feel her tremors.
Jaanvi had seen a glimpse of his bad side and knew that it was out of the world. If he was mad, then he would turn into a selfish monster all in a second. She had gone through the worst in life and didn't want her rest of the life to run in sufferings too. This was a harder decision than what she expected. This was so bad. How could she work this one out?
"You sound like a obsessive person..." she stated quietly.
"Yeah, what if I am really one?"
"I will have to rethink my decisions one more time, Vikram." She mumbled nervously and Vikram gave her a quick laughter. A laughter with no humour. He was just as mad as hell.
Without saying a word, he quickly started his car again and headed towards her house. Vikram kept very silent and Jaanvi was getting uneasy. She was really afraid of his mood-swings. He was one hell of a guy with a shit-load amount of mood swings. He was worse than a girl on periods. One minute, he could be the sweetest guy and another minute, he could be a total jerk.
When they reached her house, the car was still locked. Jaanvi felt a little light-headed when Vikram didn't even look at her side.
"Vikram, don't be mad-"
"Leave." He said, quickly unlocking the door.
For the first time in her life, Jaanvi didn't want to leave this arrogant asshole. She felt like she was bounded to him. Along the journey of knowing him, Vikram wormed his way into her heart. She could feel it. She didn't even feel good when she thought about leaving him.
It was so hard to leave him there with his idiotic expressions. She felt guilty as though she did a crime by making him mad. Wasn't this toxic already? Jaanvi didn't know what was bad anymore. She was feeling conflicted. Why did she feel so attached to him? He was sitting there oblivious to her feelings. Yet, she still felt like kissing him and making up to him.
She took in a deep breath and calmed herself down. She should just leave.
"Okay bye." She replied and opened the door with a heavy heart. The minute she stepped out, she heard him speak.
"Jaanvi, come here." He said quietly. It was like the silence before the storm. Jaanvi hesitated to answer. He really looked horrifying to turn back to.
"How about we talk later?" she negotiated.
"How about you just fucking come here already?" he snapped and Jaanvi inhaled a deep breath. Why was he scaring here?
Without much choice, Jaanvi found herself automatically walking to the other side of the car door. She could have said no. Could. But she didn't and she did not know why. When she reached there, she leaned down and gave him the biggest frown that she could ever afford. When his blue eyes found its way to hers, she shivered. Intimidating jerk.
He slowly took his hands out and immediately held the first button of her blouse. Jaanvi flinched, but when she realised that he was actually buttoning up her shirt, she relaxed. Gosh, this was more embarrassing than she ever expected. He leisurely took all the time in the world and buttoned her up while watching her eyes keenly.
He did not even look down at her buttons or anything below like a pervert. He just gazed at her eyes intensely and buttoned up as slow as possible. She could see every single detail on his face.
But the next second, she was so unprepared when he pulled her closer by her collars. Before she could decipher what was going on, she was placed a gun to her neck. Jaanvi's breathing hitched and she froze in her position.
"Vi-Vikram?"
"Next time someone else sees what's mine, I will literally kill you. Don't risk your life due to carelessness like this. I don't appreciate it. Understood?" he whispered and Jaanvi's breath was stolen. She couldn't even breathe. She was shocked and dumbstruck at the same time. Was this a punishment for pissing him off?
Jaanvi couldn't understand him at all. He literally placed the gun and dragged it down the length of the neck. Jaanvi felt like vomiting. She felt so sick.
"Understood?" he asked again and she just nodded her head. But Vikram did not seem satisfied.
"I need words, Jaanvi." He growled.
"Yes" she quickly said. She wanted him to leave already.
"Good." He replied and packed his gun away. Holding her jaws firmly, he kissed her cheeks and tapped her to say goodbye.
Jaanvi felt her tears brimming. What he did was too intense. She couldn't believe that he actually did that. Was he threatening her or showing her a demo of what could happen in future? She didn't understand anything at all.
It suddenly felt like a dream. The whole deal with Vikram was too intense for her to handle.
Dating Arjun seemed like a child's play when she started seeing Vikram's intimidation. Vikram was more than what he showed. Nobody knew how bad he could be. He just looked like an ordinary guy who could be so much fun to get along with. But that unpredictability was the most deceiving things about him. That was his strength.
The unknowingness about Vikram, made Jaanvi feel terrified. At least with Arjun, he was always constant with his behaviour. You could see when he was worried and when he was happy. He could be a police officer for all she cared, but still... he was who he was.
However, Vikram was not like that. One wouldn't know if he was happy, angry, sad or uneasy. He would just switch emotions like they switched the lights. He was capable of killing people. She could feel it. How easily he took his gun out and aimed it at her neck? Was he doing some other illegal works?
Her brain couldn't comprehend everything. She felt like sitting in one corner and crying. But her tears suddenly felt dried up. She was shook out of reality. She had no energy to mourn any longer. If Vikram was carrying a gun, then he couldn't be a normal psychiatrist. He had to be more....
She walked in like a zombie and entered her house. Her now dark house... Nobody seemed to care about her anymore and Jaanvi was kind of relieved with that. She could not afford anymore judgements and questions.
Without much thinking, Jaanvi rested on her bed and closed her eyes. She no longer anticipated the sun for the next day.
Because in Jaanvi's life, tomorrow would always bring more surprises.
---------
Vikram's POV
Okay... like fuck my life!
What the hell did that shit come from? That anger that came out from me was something else. Just another few more words and it could have killed her. Already one fucking murder and I still couldn't wrap the shit around my head. Now if something happens to Jaanvi, I will never fucking forgive myself for that.
I know I should have controlled myself when she was speaking her usual nonsense. After all, it was Jaanvi, the queen of devils. But her words wasn't what made me lose my shit. It was her appearance. Well, the fact that her button on her blouse was open for the world to see, made my brains run crazy. How???
When it came to Jaanvi, everything seemed to worked different. I wanted Jaanvi a lot more crazily than how I wanted Shree. It wasn't just toxic, but it was also too overwhelming. I never had such feelings for any woman for a long time. It was daunting to think how she was now having second thoughts. Did she think I would let her go that easily? Funny shithead!
Now dealing with Jaanvi was emotionally stabbing me. If I didn't have her, then I would bring her by force.... Even if it costs my life. That was final and no one was changing my decision. Not even Jaanvi.
I could already sense the potential fights that could occur in future. No way in world, I would lose any opportunity to be with Jaanvi. Even if it was one second to be with her, I would choose that oppose to anything in the world. She was becoming everything in my life. Anything I saw in the day or night reminded me of that Satan.
In all of this, it was her fault that she came looking for me again and again! I avoided her all the time. I knew that the amber-brown eyes girl was very dangerous and I was protecting my damn-stupid heart from the hurt. But she forcefully wormed her way into my heart and my fucking heart just betrayed me. Like what the fuck?
It was something about her unapologetic ways that pulled me towards her. The way she just brushed off her problems and stood strong was one hell of a scene. Her attitude was such a turn-on if anything. Honestly, my Jaanvi is a queen.. Period!
No girl would stand equal to Jaanvi. She was a fire sorts of person. She had confidence, sass and elegance all blended together.
The moment I placed the gun on her neck, she froze. Smartass didn't comment anything sassy at that time. I could see the unadulterated panic in her eyes. Not so smart anymore, huh?
She was frozen and her body shivered. The fear was real and so was my anger. But the fear in her eyes was what I fed upon. That was the one thing which turned me on. As sick as it sounded, I lived off that shit. Yeap that right...
Yeah, you can call me an asshole, dickhead or bad guy for whatever reasons. I am not denying who I am. This is me and this is what I lived off.
When I say I am difficult to live with, this is what I meant. I didn't just narrate like I was saying a fucking fairytale. I was a guy whom you only admired from the far. When you come near, I burn like a fire. It may either strengthen you or burn you into ashes.
But like all times, my mum did not understand a single word that I always tell her. She lived in her own stupid world where woman was just married off to look and stay pretty at homes. Nope, that's not what I wanted.
She just wanted to play the high-class savage mother in-law. Well, you should never play such games with the she-devil. Now where did these games bring her to? All her efforts inside the fucking trash.
When I walked inside my house, I was already getting the feeling of irritation.
"So, you are back now? Where have you been for so long?" my mother started the minute I came face to face with her. She was really a headache these days.
"Hello to you too" I said and kept my pace. Don't stop walking Vikram...
"I asked about where you were???"
"In hell." I replied and quickly tried to get away.
"So, still sleeping with that uneducated bitch, hai?" she asked and my anger shot up. Why, like why?????
Now she couldn't blame me, could she? This was her fault. She asked for it.
"One more word about Jaanvi, I will get you arrested for assault and make sure you never get released for three solid days. I swear this is the last warning for you maa. If you want me to talk about the list of girls I slept with, then I can gladly do that. Are you ready to listen and count with me?" I yelled and my mother stoned in her place.
Soon my dad and brother also joined the fun. Great, just great.
"Viki, what's wrong son?" my dad asked and I glared at him.
"Next time dad.... Know how to control your wife's tongue. She gets out of control and I can't fucking deal with that. If you can't do that, then I will have to resort to desperate measures. Don't let me shame you among the family members. MY private life in fucking MINE!" I uttered and everyone's face paled. Yeap, that's right.
"Viki-"
"Jaanvi is MY woman and no one has the rights to talk about her in this house. I want to marry Jaanvi and that's final. If you guys want to support me, then you may happily do that. Else, I will happily marry her and move out of this house. Understood?" I asked everyone and thankfully, my mother got the warning well. Thank fucking god.
This was the last thing on my mind. Now, if anyone was protesting to my wedding, then I had to deal with more dramas. This wasn't the time, really!
I had bigger battles to fight for.
--------------
"Strip..." Vikram hushed and Jaanvi stood unmoved. She stuck her back against the bed like a lizard and refused to move. This was exhausting.
"No."
"If you do not listen, then the next second I would forcefully strip you out of it." He warned and Jaanvi's legs tightened. She felt cramps on her lower abdomen and put it to the fear she was experiencing. This man was heaven and hell put together. There was no escape.
With no other choice, she really stood there and removed the buttons one by one. Despite the dear she felt, there was a tingle of excitement running inside her veins. She felt it... Yes, there was a tiny little joy mixed with thrill and anticipation. The way his eyes swooned her gave her some sort of power. Only she had the power to make him crave her.
When her sleeves had come of, Vikram lifted the penknife and walked closer to her. He raised it till he held it below her abdomen and slowly pulled it down so that he reached her bottoms. Jaanvi inhaled strongly and refused to let out her breath. One wrong move and she would bleed to death.
"Please..." she whispered.
"Touch me..." he whispered with the same intensity while watching her eyes all these times. He didn't even blink for a second. Does this man have a heart?
Taking her fragile hands, he placed it on top of his protruding bulge of his pants and pushed himself deeper into her hands. Jaanvi felt frightened when she saw the colour of his eyes change. She was carried away when her hands started moving itself.
His uneven breathing fanning at her face, brought her some kind of confidence. She slowly felt his penknife tearing away whatever leftover clothing she had. When all her clothes were off, his eyes finally lowered down to take in her figure.
Jaanvi felt the chills running over her body. He didn't even touch her, but she felt electricity running past her naked skin. He made her feel it.
The minute he looked back at her, his lips crashed with hers fiercely.
His blue eyes were the last thing she saw before the alarm went off.
Jaanvi jolted from her sleep and looked around. The fuck?
Such a sick dream? Why? Like why???? What world was she from? Why did she see such a weird dream? And that too with Vikram... Why?
She convulsed with fear and want for what seemed like an hour. That dream was disturbing on so many levels. She still couldn't come out of the images that her brain had memorised. The way he commanded her seemed so real. It was the dominant Vikram that she had always seen. It felt so damn real.
She felt more sickening when she felt the pool of arousal in her underwear. This was so damn toxic. How could she even get turned on by this kind of weirdness. Was she weird?
Brushing away her thoughts, she forced herself to wake up and showered. She changed to a decent outfit and quickly wore her overcoat. Today, she was going to put a full-stop to this madness. She wanted to speak to Vikram and clear her thoughts. She would ask him about her rights before going into conclusion.
She couldn't go blindly into this relationship. This was more dangerous, knowing how his family already was. Especially his mother.
"Maa, I am leaving." Jaanvi shouted while she was walking down the stairs. She had applied her lip gloss and covered the weariness on her face with a little powder. She
Instead of her mother, Jaanvi bumped into Riya. This little prick.
"Jaanvi? Where are you going?" she asked and Jaanvi resisted to roll her eyes.
"Why do you care?"
"Despite what you think, I still care Jaanvi. I mean...... if you are not offended, I would like to tell you something." Riya said, trying to force out a smile.
"I mean, after everything you said all these days, I don't think anything else can be offensive. So don't waste my time and spit it out." Jaanvi shrugged.
"Hmm.... Actually, Sid was telling me-"
"If you are going to waste time about Sid, then I am leaving." Jaanvi announced. Honestly Sid's topic irritated her the most.
"Wait, just listen... Sid said that he has this cousin called Gowtham. He saw your picture recently, I think. I mean... I think Sid showed him your picture. Good news is that, it seems....that Gowtham is interested in dating you."
The minute Riya uttered that, Jaanvi brushed past her and walked away like she didn't even listen to that. Jaanvi's blood boiled like a lava from the erupted volcanos. How dare this Riya and Sid start matchmaking her? Did she ask for their help?
"Wait Jaanvi-"
"Fuck off before I throw my bag at you!!" Jaanvi snapped and turned around angrily.
"I was just trying to redeem myself-"
"This is not how you redeem. First of all, become worthy of your own self. Stop trying to show off that you always settle with the best. Try to be understanding towards what the other person is feeling. BE CONSIDERATE! That's all I am asking. Is that too much to ask?" Jaanvi shouted and everyone came running outside.
Veena was baffled at the scene between the sisters. She had never seen Jaanvi so angry before.
"Jaanvi stop shouting." Veena was afraid that Ram would witness this scene and yet again, insult Jaanvi.
"I am not shouting. You know your second daughter has started to become a matchmaking broker? She should stop it before I do some real damage on her life." Jaanvi yelled and everyone gasped.
Riya stared at her sister dumbfoundedly. She was shocked that Jaanvi used such a tone on her. She was just trying to set her sister with someone to remove the guilt at the back of her mind. But Jaanvi's rage was something she didn't expect at all.
"Real damage? What else are you planning to do? Take drugs again?" Riya asked and Veena glared at her.
"Riya??? What the hell are you speaking? Go and apologise..." she asked while Jaanvi just rolled her eyes.
"Where's the slap, maa? I was thinking you would have slapped her. Didn't you slap me at Riya's proposal that day for speaking out of line? So, is this all she gets? A few words of advise?" Jaanvi mocked and Riya sneered in anger.
"Yeah, you deserved the slap because you can't keep your attitude up."
"That goes for you too Riya! Understand one thing... From today onwards, you are not my sister whom I love.... You are my enemy whom I am out to destroy. Any chance I get to give it back to you, I will take it. Understand?" she asked and a loud voice was heard behind her.
"Really? What are you planning to do?" Ram's voice reverberated in the hall, making everyone stunned.
Jaanvi didn't expect her father to make a sudden appearance there. This was so messed up.
"I will do what exactly she did to me. Hurt her where it pains the most... She plays with my weakness everytime she gets a chance, right? I will know what to do." With that, Jaanvi stormed out of the house.
But before she could exit, her father stopped her.
"Since you are out of leash, I suggest you think twice before stepping out." Ram said and Jaanvi halted in her steps.
"What?" she snapped her neck back and looked at him with hatred.
"Yes, go to your room now. Or else, you can forget about coming back home." He stated, making everyone dumbfounded.
Jaanvi stoned at her place. She needed to leave this house as soon as possible. Even the rehabilitation centre was much better place. Even Hashim was not so mean towards her. He only annoyed her because she was being difficult. But here, even her own parents didn't support her.
Without much choice, she turned her steps back and headed inside her room.
-----------
Vikram heard his phone bing again. This was the twelfth time.
Today was a busy day at his office. His workload was increasing and he couldn't really concentrate on anything else apart from his patients. Vikram was always a person who's ahead of his schedule. But ever since the Satan drove her way inside his heart, he seemed to lag in his pace. He had so many undone cases.
He didn't even have the time to look at his phone. He pinched his temples while looking at a job that needed him to be in Canada for a few days. His head ached at the thought of staying away from Jaanvi. She was completely becoming his addiction these days.
"Dr Vikram, any suggestions for the previous patient?" Joe asked and Vikram quickly penned down his notes.
He prescribed some anti-depressant pills and then sent Joe away from his office. He needed some air to breathe. So, when the door opened again, he was shocked to see his annoying neighbour, Jessica standing there.
"Jess, what are you doing here? Do you have an appointment?" he asked and she just gave him a shameless smile.
"Hi Vikram... Yes, I got my appointment with great difficulty you know? Finally, now I am here." She took her appointment card and showed him with glee. Vikram clamped his hands shut and tried to calm himself down.
"Okay, so how may I help you?" he asked professionally, and Jessica blinked at him dramatically.
"Seemed like my heartrate is going up so fast whenever I see this guy. It's becoming so painful, because he ignores me like I am a wall. What shall I do, doctor?" she asked seductively and Vikram exhaled a tired sigh. He was so done with the mental patients in life.
"I think you are having a 'shameless' disorder. When a guy ignores you, you should avoid him and look for a different guy to woo at. Not stuck to him like a leech." He exclaimed.
"But he's hard to ignore. He always runs in my mind. I can't seem to get my mind off him." She said and Vikram looked at her hardly.
He was really thinking hard on how to answer this. He looked at her features and instantly knew that she was talking about him. It was not a big deal for him to find that out. But to chase her out, he needed a solid reason.
"Hmm, seems like a complicated case. Let me schedule the next appointment for you, where you can tell me the details of the guy. But I am afraid it has to be delayed for some time." Vikram said and quickly took the pen from the stand.
"Why?" Jessica sighed and Vikram smirked.
"Well, I am quite busy with my marriage preparations right now. In case you need another psychiatrist, I am more than willing to recommend one for you. Is that okay?" he asked and Jessica's face paled.
"Marriage? With who?"
Just at that moment, Vikram received a call from Jaanvi. Phew, what a joy.
"Hello Jaan..." he casually picked up and answered while ignoring the woman infront of him.
"VI.... JaanVIII. Complete it, okay? No more jaan for you. Anyways, do you understand that you are doing a bad job at playing the boyfriend? You didn't even see my text this morning, didn't send any hello or good morning and lastly, didn't even care to check if I came back home safely last night. How do I marry you and stay with you safely? Is this how you are going to treat me when I am at your house? Or are you going to come back home and put a gun to my head, saying that you are busy and I shouldn't be calling you?" she asked everything in a single breath.
Vikram smiled and shook his head. He couldn't understand how her brain handled so many questions at once.
"May I know which question to answer first?"
"Don't answer anything. How about we just break up?" she asked and he wanted to smack her mouth.
"I was busy Jaan... I mean, even now, I am busy with a mental patient sweetheart." He tried coaxing, but all he heard was her huff and puff.
"I am cutting the call Vikram... I really don't feel like talking to you." She said and all Vikram did was smile. She was really ironic in the sense that she was the one who wasn't putting the call down.
"Okay, where are you now?" he asked and she rolled her eyes.
"Why do you care? Aren't you busy already?" she sassed.
"I thought it was a boyfriend's duty to care?" Vikram fake gasped.
"Yeah, my foot. I am under house arrest. So I have planned out my perfect schedule.... I am going to wear this sexy dress while Sid comes home to woo Riya. How does that sound? Perfect revenge plan, huh?" she asked and Vikram instantly coughed.
He felt like his throat was clogged with a chunk of water suddenly.
"Fuck my life..." he muttered silently and all he heard was Jaanvi's laughter.
"Yes, keep fucking your life dude. It's not going to get any better." She had the audacity to say.
"Can we speak later?" Vikram was still patient. But Jaanvi had other ideas.
"Anyways, why the hell is it, that you are always around a female patient?" she asked and Vikram's eyes widened. He looked around to check if Jaanvi was spying around him. With satan, anything was possible.
Meanwhile he also noticed how uncomfortable Jessica was. Good, serves her right.
"How do you know that I have a female patient with me?" Vikram asked, extremely amused.
"Well, I know that much about you, okay. It's not rocket science... Stop harassing your patients and see to others needs." She huffed, making Vikram smile.
"Who's needs exactly?"
"People who need you. Example, your mother-"
"I just called my mother few minutes ago." Vikram stopped her.
"Ouh wow... like WOW. And I messaged you twelve times and you didn't even reply. You said you were busy. But you had time for your mother? Really?" she asked, completely cornering him.
Vikram scratched his head. What to answer for that?
"Jaanvi, I can explain-"
"Bye!" Jaanvi said and immediately ended the call. Vikram wanted to laugh. Honestly the day couldn't have brightened up. After last night, he expected a war to happen between them.
However, with Jaanvi, everything was different. She reacts differently to every situation. Living with her was by far the best thing Vikram ever experienced.
Looking at Jessica, he just shrugged carelessly.
"Sorry, I am a bit caught up with my fiancée... You see, she's actually very demanding." He gave her a sorry face while internally laughing.
Jessica's expressions were purely hilarious. She was angry and upset on a different level. Her tongue was tied and she found it hard to accept that Vikram could be lovey-dovey with another female. She was so confident that she would lure him one day. But seeing him slip off, became her biggest nightmare.
"Vikram stop... Who's she? Are you serious about this or are you saying this just to chase me away?" she exclaimed defeatedly.
"Why do you give yourself so much importance Jess? I mean... Haven't I been clear to you? We are not a couple, so there's no reason for you to be upset. Now, go and start your life by dating other men who's really into you." Vikram said and left the office without turning back.

Jaanvi was really bored and angry. The worst combination possible.
She didn't know why, but she eventually decided to vent it out on Vikram. He was the only guy who took in all her nonsense and never complained. She loved that feeling she felt when she would talk to him. His voice would hold a little amusement and humour that no one, but she would catch.
He would always talk to her like she was a pest around him. But the love his voice held was something she always treasured. It was like an annoying sibling type of care.
After she put down the call with Vikram, she removed her winter clothes and changed to the ordinary pyjama that she would normally wear at home. She tied her hair up into a messy ponytail and sat down on her bed with her legs crossed.
Suddenly the dream which she had that morning, crossed by her mind. She clenched her eyes shut to brush it off, but those memories were persistence.
She laid down and looked at the bed lazily. He laid her in this same bed and did the unimaginable.
Her breathing came ragged, when the phone rang again. Jaanvi jolted into attention and sat upright. To her horror, Vikram was actually calling her.
"What?" she snapped when she received the call. But Vikram's voice was calm.
"Could you open the door?" he asked softly and Jaanvi inhaled a sharp breath. Her room was on the second floor, so she could see who was at the gate from her balcony. Rushing to her windows, she opened and saw no one there.
"What door?"
"Why don't you just listen?" Vikram asked.
"Where are you? I can't see you outside?" Jaanvi replied, totally ignoring the shock about how he even reached here within a few minutes.
"Because I am outside your room."
