5.0 Nothing Is Happening

Kennedy Addams opened her eyes the next morning as she felt someone tracing shapes across her back. She looked behind her and saw Stiles Stilinski, and she instantly smiled. "Good morning." Stiles spoke softly as Kennedy faced him. "How'd you sleep?"

"Pretty good." Kennedy nodded before she looked down at her phone. "We need to get ready for school." She sat up after reading the time.

Stiles shook his head, groaning. "But I'm comfortable."

"I don't care." Kennedy giggled, pulling Stiles off of the bed. "We told everyone we'd meet them in thirty minutes."

The boy's eyes widened in realization. "Shit, you're right." He stood up, looking down at his clothes. "Fuck, I have nothing clean to wear." Kennedy chuckled, making her way towards her closet. She grabbed a hoodie that Stiles had let her borrow a few months earlier. "Thanks." Stiles smiled as he took off his shirt. Kennedy quickly looked away, not expecting him to change right in front of her. Stiles let out a breathy laugh as he pulled the hoodie over his body. "You're so funny, Kenn."

Kennedy furrowed her eyebrows as she looked back up at him. "Why do you say that?"

"We just slept in the same bed last night." Stiles stated, motioning to Kennedy's bed. "But you get flustered seeing me shirtless."

The girl shrugged, looking down at her hands. "I don't know. It's different."

"I think sleeping in the same bed is worse than seeing me shirtless, but that's just my opinion."

"Shut up." Kennedy laughed at her best friend, shaking her head. "Let's get to the school."

Kennedy and Stiles had made their way to Beacon Hills High School, and were now standing near the parked school busses with Lydia Martin, Malia Tate, Kira Yukimura, Scott McCall, Liam Dunbar, and Liam's friend, Mason Hewitt. Liam had just revealed to Mason everything about the supernatural world. "Tracy wasn't just having trouble sleeping. It was a real disorder. It was night terrors." Lydia revealed to the group.

"Well, now she's the nigh terror." Stiles rolled his eyes, causing Kennedy to send him a glare. "Especially since no one can find her."

"Okay." Scott sighed, stepping forwards. "I know we're all tired and miserable..." He glanced down at Mason, who was enjoying their conversation way to much. "Except for you."

Mason's eyes widened as he leaned his elbow against the bus. "Oh, I'm sorry. This is all just mind-blowing." All of the teenagers around him frowned. "You're a kitsune." He motioned towards Kira. "I don't even know what that it."

Kira shrugged, clearly uncomfortable. "I'm still learning."

"Liam, we said you could tell him." Stiles crossed his arms over his chest. "Not invite him to the inner circle."

"Uh- I'm in the inner circle?"

"No." Both Liam and Stiles responded to Mason at the same time.

Kennedy patted Stiles's shoulder. "Can we get back to Tracy, please?"

Scott nodded. "She's just one lone wolf. We can find her."

"One lone serial-killing wolf." Malia spoke with a mono-toned voice.

"Uh, no, actually." Kennedy shook her head. "She only killed one person, so she's not a serial-killing wolf. Just a killing wolf."

Stiles furrowed his eyebrows down at Kennedy. "Well, what do we do when we catch her?"

Malia leaned her elbows on the bus. "I say we put her down." Kennedy sighed, shaking her head.

Mason looked between all of the teenagers standing around him. "Intense."

"Guys, let's concentrate on catching her first." Scott stated. "We'll figure out the rest later."

The students sat at their lab tables for their AP Biology class as Mrs. Finch was passing out their tests from the previous class. Kennedy received a 90, and was very proud of it. Lydia got a 95, but thought her grade needed some work. Kennedy turned to Theo Raeken, who was sitting behind her, and he held up his test for her to see. It was an eighty. He smiled widely.

"Nice to see where your priorities are, Scott." Mrs. Finch spoke as she handed Scott the last paper in her pile. Kennedy leaned over to read what he got, and it was an 86. She sent him a congratulatory smile, which he returned back to her. "Since you have such a good grasp of the subject, how about you lead us in a review of last night's reading."

The smile on Scott's face faded. He had not read the chapter for the previous night because he was too busy helping the sheriff try to find Tracy. "Uh, sure..." He spoke as he clumsily opened his biology textbook.

Scott's eyes went to the open doorway, which caused Kennedy to look over there as well. Liam was standing there, trying to motion for Scott to follow him. "Scott?" Mrs. Finch crossed her arms over her chest.

"Sorry, just looking for the page." Scott nodded as he continuously flipped the pages of the book.

He looked back at Liam, who was pointing to his ear. "Scott." Mrs. Finch repeated.

"Yeah, one sec. Sorry." Scott furrowed his eyebrows before pointing to his ear. Kennedy watched as Scott's expression changed as he listened to Liam, and she wished she could hear what he was telling him. After reading the chapter to the class, Scott excused himself, and left the room.

Kennedy raised her hand. "Can I go to the nurses office, Mrs. Finch? It's an emergency." Mrs. Finch shook her head, allowing Kennedy to leave.

She rushed into Mr. Yukimura's classroom and found Scott and Liam standing in front of Tracy Stewart, who was sitting at a desk. Tracy's hand was wrapped around Hayden Romero's wrist. Hayden was gasping in pain. "Tracy." Scott spoke cautiously as he moved closer towards Tracy very slowly. Tracy looked up at Scott and slowly stood up from the desk, with Hayden's wrist still in her grasp. She was breathing very heavily. "Tracy." Scott repeated, moving closer towards the girl. Her grip tightened on Hayden's wrist. "Tracy, let her go."

"Hey, you're hurting me." Hayden whimpered as blood began to flow from underneath Tracy's hand.

"Tracy, let go." Scott repeated.

Tracy took in a deep breath. "They're coming." She let go of Hayden's wrist. "They're coming for all of us." She fell to the ground, and a strange silvery liquid began flowing from her mouth.

Scott grabbed a hold of Tracy and brought her into the hallway, followed by Kennedy, Liam, Hayden, and Kira's father. Stiles and Malia ran into the hallway, seeing them. Stiles rushed to open the door for Scott. Kennedy and her friends left the school, leaving Liam and Hayden in the hallway alone.

They had driven Tracy to the Veterinary office where Scott worked that was run by a Druid, Dr. Deaton. Deaton examined Tracy. "Pupils dilate under normal conditions. Heart rate is 250." He moved her turtleneck to the side, revealing some kind of rash. "Evidence of an allogeneic skin graft on the right shoulder." He shown his flashlight on the girl's lips. "Now, this silvery substance at her lips is not something I've seen. It almost looks like mercury."

Tracy's body contorted, causing Stiles to let out an audible gasp, grabbing onto Kennedy's hand. Kennedy's eyes widened as she looked down at Stiles's hand. He hadn't even realized he had done that, so she did not say anything. "Can't you just give her a shot of something?" Malia questioned Deaton.

"She doesn't look to be in any pain." Deaton shook his head, continuing to watch Tracy carefully.

"I meant a shot to kill her."

Kennedy's mouth opened slightly as she looked up at Malia. She rubbed her temples, shaking her head. "I generally prescribe to a code of ethics that frowns upon such measures."

"Malia, you know we're not going to do that." Scott spoke to his friend.

Malia let out a scoff. "How do you know she's not going to kill us?"

Stiles pointed back at Malia. "She makes a decent point. Either way, eventually, I'm going to have to let my dad know she's here."

"Agreed." Deaton nodded. "And while I may argue against euthanasia, I'm not opposed to a little extra security." He grabbed a vile filled with Mountain Ash and flung it across the doorway of the office.

Stiles stared down at the line of Mountain Ash, and Deaton noticed. "Don't worry, Stiles. Tracy won't be able to cross a line of Mountain Ash. She's not going anywhere."

The boy nodded. "Yeah, that's kind of what I'm afraid of."

"Well, you, Kennedy, and I will be able to get out of here no problem." Deaton shrugged, glancing down at the line before up at Scott and Malia. "You two. Not so much."

Malia frowned before pressing her hand up against the line, and a purplish forcefield appeared, blocking her from exiting. "Weird."

"Scott, would you mind holding her down." Deaton asked his apprentice. "I'm going to be trying a few more invasive tests." He picked up a scalpel, and Scott sent Stiles a look, trying to get him to help hold Tracy down. Stiles let out a sigh before grabbing onto Tracy's other arm. Deaton began to cut into Tracy's arm, but everywhere he cut immediately healed back up. He tried to push farther in, but the scalpel snapped.

"I think you're going to need a bigger blade." Stiles frowned, causing Kennedy to push against his shoulder.

As the night went on, Stiles and Kennedy were sitting against the wall. "This is kind of terrifying." Kennedy spoke, looking up at the ceiling.

"Tell me about it." Stiles chuckled. "But, our day to day life is kind of terrifying as well."

"You're right." Kennedy nodded, making eye contact with the boy sitting next to her. "It's kind of crazy that this is what our lives have become. I mean, when I was growing up, I would never have thought that one of my best friends would be a werewolf."

Stiles sent her a small smile as he took her hand in his. "I mean, I think it kind of brought us closer."

"Yeah, our friend group is really close now, isn't it." Kennedy giggled, glancing over towards Malia, who was watching the two of them very closely, trying to figure out what they were say.

The boy began to shake his head. "No, uh- I actually just meant you and-"

"Now, this is interesting." Deaton spoke, cutting Stiles off. Kennedy and Malia moved to Deaton, who was standing over Tracy's unconscious body. He went to touch a large vein in Tracy's neck, but it moved. "Malia, help me turn her over." Malia nodded, moving Tracy over.

"I think I know what she is."

"Do you care to enlighten the rest of us, because this doesn't look good." Deaton questioned Stiles, before him and Scott moved towards the table. Deaton moved Tracy's shirt up to they could see her back, and all of her muscles were moving around under her skin. The doctor pressed at her back, and suddenly a large gash appeared through the skin on her back. Blood splattered on Scott and Deaton before a tail came rushing out of the gash. It slashed Stiles, causing him to let out a yelp as he fell to the ground. Tracy jumped up on the table, hitting both Deaton and Malia with her tail. They both fell to the ground.

Stiles watched as Kennedy moved backwards. "Kenn, watch out!" He screamed as he watched Tracy's tail slash through the fabric covering Kennedy's shoulders. Kennedy fell to the ground. Tracy turned to face Scott, and cut his face with her claws, sending him to the ground as well. She jumped off of the table and rushed through the line of Mountain Ash and out of the Veterinary office. "It wasn't a werewolf." Stiles exclaimed.

"Kanima." Scott sighed.

"How'd she get through the Mountain Ash?" Kennedy frowned.

"I don't know." Deaton responded to her. "It's a barrier no supernatural creature should be able to cross."

Kennedy tried to look towards her friend. "But Scott did it."

"Once, but it almost killed me."

Malia let out a growl. "We should have killed her."

"Meanwhile, she's probably on her way to kill someone else." Stiles spoke with his face almost completely against the ground.

"Listen, everyone." Deaton spoke, trying to clam the others down. "We need to concentrate. Scott and Malia, you two will probably be able to move long before the rest of us can. But you need to focus."

"Focus on what?" Malia frowned, not understanding what she had to do.

Scott made eye contact with her. "Healing."

Malia let out an audible breath, obviously panicking, "I don't know how to tell my body to heal."

"Mal, you just need to calm down." Kennedy spoke in a soothing tone. "It's going to be alright."

"I can't calm down." Malia exclaimed. "I can't move."

"It won't last long." Scott was trying his best to help her through it. "We're going to be okay. Doc, how do we focus?"

Deaton made eye contact with Scott. "Think of a body part." He explained to them. "Your hands, your feet, even just the tips of your fingers. Imagine them moving. See it in your mind, and your body will follow."

It had been ten minutes of silence, with everyone in the room trying to focus on healing their bodies. "Okay, I'm pretty sure I just felt my right leg move." Stiles grunted. "Uh- yep. Definitely felt it. Like a twinge, spasm, something."

He let out a groan as Kennedy rolled her eyes. She caught his legs in her line of sight, and saw that absolutely nothing was happening. "Stiles, honey. You're not moving."

"I think you're just trying to bring me down, Kenn."

"I'm literally watching your leg. Nothing is happening."

"Okay, but you don't have to be mean about it."

"I wasn't being mean. I was being honest."

While listening to Kennedy and Stiles bicker, Scott noticed Malia moving her fingers slightly. "Malia."

Malia breathed in and out very slowly. "I don't think she cut me that deep."

"Keep going." Deaton smiled, watching her. "Keep moving."

Malia moved her entire hand, and then her leg moved slightly. She brought her hands to the rack behind her to try and push herself off of the ground. "What's happening? I cam't see." Stiles questioned everyone in the room. Malia let out a grunt as she began to stand up. "What's happening?" She grabbed onto the table in front of her, pulling herself fully into a standing position. "Malia? Malia, wait for us."

"There's no time." Malia shook her head.

"Mal, she's not a werewolf." Kennedy pleaded to her best friend.

"But she has a scent." Malia growled softly. "I can find her."

"Malia." She looked over at Scott. "Save her." She frowned before rushing out of the building.

About thirty minutes later, Theo showed up at the Vetrinary office, and pulled Scott off of the ground. "How'd you find us?" Scott asked him, holding onto the table in front of him for support.

"You work here." Theo explained. "I heard about Tracy, I've been looking for you."

Theo grabbed Stiles, and pulled him up, even though he was complaining. When he went for Kennedy, Stiles frowned. "I can help her up."

"Oh really?" Theo raised an eyebrow, backing away. "Have at it." Stiles let a grunt, trying to move off the table, but he failed. Theo let out a chuckle before helping Kennedy up.

"We lost her." Scott explained to Theo.

Kennedy looked down at the table. "And Malia."

"I can help." Theo nodded before helping Deaton up.

Deaton looked Theo up and down before turning to Scott. "This is Theo?"

Kennedy nodded. "Let me help." Theo crossed his arms over his chest as he stood behind Kennedy. "It doesn't have to mean that I'm part of the pack, or like you've accepted me or anything like that." Stiles rolled his eyes. "It just means I can help catch this girl." Scott looked over at Stiles, who sighed before shrugging. "Scott, I can help you."
