1.0 It's Not The Right Time

"I love you, Stiles. I think I always have, but I didn't realize it until you almost died. You not being in my life made me afraid, and then I started thinking even more. You make me the happiest I have ever been. Sometimes I can barely figure out what to say when I'm with you because you make my mind go blank. That's a good thing. I mean that in the best way possible."

Malia Tate furrowed her eyebrows as she shook her head. "That wasn't good, was it?" Kennedy Addams let out a sigh as he laid her head back on her bed. "Why is it so hard for me to talk about my feelings?"

"It's hard for me too, Kenn, but I have the excuse of being trapped in a coyote's body for ten years." Malia let out a chuckle as she propped herself up next to Kennedy. "You, on the other hand, have no excuse. You just need to fucking tell him already."

"You know I can't do that." Kennedy closed her eyes as she cupped her cheeks with her hands. "I'm too scared that I'm just going to ruin our entire friendship."

The brunette nodded, looking down at Kennedy's phone as a text from Stiles Stilinski popped up, saying he was there to pick the two girls up. "I could always tell him."

Kennedy sat straight up, narrowing her eyes. "You wouldn't."

"I would." Malia sent Kennedy a wink as she stood up. "Get your shit, they're here."

The blonde girl let out a groan, throwing her head back. "I know I made a promise to myself at the end of the school year that I would tell him tonight, but I really don't want to."

"You have to." Malia growled, trying to pull her best friend off of the bed.

Kennedy lifted herself off the bed and grabbed her phone. "I really don't think I can."

Malia rolled her eyes before placing her hand on Kennedy's cheeks. "I know you're shy as shit, but when you want to be, you are a real badass."

"I'm not though."

"Oh my god, Kennedy."

"We're going to leave without you if you don't come downstairs now!"

Kennedy's eyes widened as she looked over at her open window. "Could they hear everything we've been saying?"

"Who cares?" Malia let out a laugh, finding this hilarious. "Everyone already knows that you two are in love with each other."

A smile appeared across Kennedy's lips as she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "Wait, really?"

"Yes. You are hopeless."

Malia grabbed onto Kennedy's hand, dragging her down the stairs and out of the Addams residence. Kennedy's smile grew wider when she saw Stiles standing outside of his blue jeep. "Hey, Kenn."

"Hi, Stiles."

The were-coyote watched as the pair stared at each other for a full minute in awkward silence. "God, please let me know when my misery will be over." She opened the door to the backseat of Stiles' jeep and hopped inside.

"How was your summer?"

"You saw me yesterday, Stiles." Kennedy let out a giggle as Stiles nodded awkwardly.

Stiles let out a sigh as he continued nodding. "Yeah, uh- I don't really know why I said that." He watched as Kennedy stepped into the jeep, and then he got into the jeep himself, sitting in the driver's side.

As soon as Stiles closed his door, he shared a look with Scott McCall before they stared back at Kennedy and Malia. "What?" Malia furrowed her eyebrows.

"Did you find out yet?" Stiles questioned her.

"Find out what?" Liam Dunbar, who was sitting in the back with Kennedy and Malia asked, leaning his elbow against the window of the Jeep.

Malia shook her head, trying not to seem disappointed. "They're going to email me."

"Is this about summer school?" Liam took his headphone out of his ear as he spoke, actually interested in the conversation.

Kennedy's eyes widened as she looked between all three of the boys. "Did you actually tell him?"

Stiles shook his head and opened his mouth to speak, but he was cut off by Liam. "Oh, no. All they said was you had to go to summer school because the principal said your test scores weren't good enough and you might have to repeat junior year."

Malia sunk in her seat as Kennedy sent Stiles a death. Stiles let out a sigh, glancing over at his best friend sitting next to him. "We should have left him chained to the tree."

*

"Tell him!" Malia whined as she stood at the front desk of Beacon Hills Hospital. "I'm just getting annoyed at this point." Scott had needed to drop Liam off with his dad at the hospital, but it was overcrowded by accidents from the storm.

Kennedy shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "It's not the right time."

"At this point, it is never going to be the right time." Malia leaned her head against the front desk.

"Are you girls talking about Stiles?" Kennedy's eyes widened as she heard Melissa McCall, Scott's mother, speak from her seat at the front desk.

"No." "Yes." Kennedy sent Malia a dirty look after the two of them answered at the same time.

Melissa let out a chuckle. "Honey, I hear those two talking about you all of the time, and it is basically the same conversation you girls are having."

"Really?" Kennedy smiled as she looked down at her feet.

"You have nothing to be worried about, sweetheart. Just let it happen."

Malia nodded, clapping her hands together. "This is what I have been telling you for three months."

"Actually, it's the opposite of what you've been saying." Kennedy crinkled her nose as she spoke. "Melissa is saying let it happen naturally. You want me to force it."

"No, Malia's right. You need to tell him."

"Thank you, Melissa."

Kennedy stood there dumbfounded as she stared at the two people in front of her, and then heard Stiles and Scott appear behind her. "Kennedy?"

"Yeah?" Kennedy asked, turning to face the two boys.

"Say the two of us were dating."

"What?" Kennedy jaw dropped as Malia let out a snort.

Stiles's eyes widened as he frantically began to shake his head. "Hypothetically." Kennedy's expression dropped as her mouth formed an 'O'. "And you were going away, and I told you, 'Don't worry, go have fun.' What would you think I was talking about?"

"Um- I don't know." Kennedy was still confused about what was going on.

Malia leaned towards her ear and cupped her fingers around her mouth. "He's talking about having sex with other guys."

Kennedy looked over at her best friend, her eyes widening. "Uh- I- um- Well..."

"She's a bad example." Malia patted Kennedy's back before making eye contact with Scott. "Sex with other guys."

"Okay, yeah." Scott nodded as he looked down at the ground. "Now, I'm worried." His girlfriend, Kira Yukimura, had been in New York all summer.

A young man on a stretcher was wheeled by the group of teenagers. "Twenty-five year old male, unrestrained driver involved in..."

"Hey, mom. Where is all this coming from?" Scott questioned his mother, who was walking behind the stretcher, following the other doctors.

"A jackknifed tractor-trailer on 115, caused a major pile up." Melissa explained to her son before turning the corner to help the doctors.

Stiles frowned. "Okay, there is only one way back into Beacon Hills from the airport."

"115." Scott let out a sigh from realization.

"Kira's not going to make it tonight, is she?" Kennedy questioned, looking down at her feet.

"I can get her." Scott began to walk towards the exit of the hospital, and turned back to his friends, walking backwards. "You guys head to the school. Lydia's probably already there. We'll meet you by midnight."

Stiles shook his head. "How are you going to get to her in the middle of a traffic jam?"

Scott stopped as he reached the door. "We'll make it. Trust me."

When Stiles, Kennedy, and Malia had reached Beacon Hills High School, they were all staring down at their phones as they walked through the rain. "Nothing from Scott or Kira." Stiles spoke, shuffling through her notifications.

"Nothing from Lydia either." Kennedy shoved her phone into her back pocket.

Malia stopped walking as she reached safety from the rain under the entrance to the high school. "And I still don't know if I passed."

Kennedy stopped walking and turned to her best friend. "Mal, you know you passed."

"I don't want to do this unless I'm actually a senior." Malia shook her head, watching all of the seniors run into the school. Stiles nodded, staring off. Malia sent Kennedy a look before walking up behind the boy, scaring him. "What's wrong with you?" She questioned as he turned around. "You smell terrible." She looked back at Kennedy. "Actually both of you do, but Kenn has smelled like that all fucking night."

"Yeah, it's called anxiety. It should be a familiar scent for you by now, since it's pretty much a constant state for me." Stiles spoke, crossing his arms over his chest.

Kennedy stepped forwards. "Why is tonight so important to you."

"It's not."

"It is." Kennedy took Stiles's hand in her. "I know you. Tonight is important, but why?"

Stiles let out a sigh, scratching the back of his neck with his free hand. "I asked my dad the other day about his high school friends. Guess how many he still talks to? None. Not a single one." Stiles scoffed, glancing at the ground before making eye contact with Kennedy. "These were his best friends, and he just says he lost touch with them, you know. So I started thinking about things, like I always do." Kennedy let out a giggle as she nodded, listening to him. "So, I'm thinking, what if Scott's my best friend now, but he's not my best friend for life?"

"Stiles, that happens."

"I know, Kenn, but only if we let it happen." Stiles slightly tightened his grip on Kennedy's hand. "That's what I'm saying. How come when we graduate, we're just expected to go our separate ways? If I've already found the best people in my life, why aren't I not trying to stay with them, you know?"

A smiled creeped upon Kennedy's face, and she looked down at their intertwined hands. "That's the vision you're always talking about, right?"

"Yeah." Stiles nodded, furrowing his eyebrows.

"I like the vision." Kennedy looked back up at Stiles, noticing that they were inches apart. "And I just want to be a part of it." Stiles smiled as his eyes drifted down to Kennedy's lips.

The two jumped a part as Malia spoke up from behind them. "So that is why you wanted everyone here tonight. Because you don't want to lose all your friends after senior year."

"Shit, Mal. I forgot you were here." Stiles let out a laugh as he took his hand away from Kennedy's.

Malia's expression dropped. "Mal?" Kennedy furrowed her eyebrows, stepping closer towards her best friend.

"Someone's coming. Someone fast."

The were-coyote jumped around as pressed her palm against someone's chest, throwing them to the ground. Kennedy let out a gasp when she saw Liam laying beneath them. "Honey, are you okay?"

Liam shook his head as Kennedy helped him up. "Scott's in trouble."

The three teenagers followed Liam to a tunnel where they saw a werewolf that had never seen before with its claws in Scott's chest. Kira and another werewolf Kennedy did not recognize stood behind them. Scott looked as if he were getting the life sucked out of him. Kennedy let out a yelp, trying to run to help, but Stiles held her back, pulling her into his arms. Scott's head perked up, his eyes turned red and he let out a growl. He began to stand back up, and he gripped the werewolf's forearm, snapping it. The werewolf fell to the ground, wailing in pain. Scott grabbed the werewolves broken off claws from his chest and threw them to the ground. "I don't know who you are." Scott spoke to the werewolf below him. "Or what you thought you were going to do, but I'll give you a choice. You can stay and I'll break something else, or you can run."

The werewolf looked back at Stiles, Malia, Kennedy and Liam. "I'd run." Stiles raised an eyebrow, causing the werewolf to stand up and run into the rain.

The teenagers moved together and turned to the other werewolf. He looked familiar to Kennedy. He smirked, moving closer to the group. "You don't remember me, do you?" Kennedy furrowed her eyebrows, trying to figure out who the boy was. "I guess I look a little different from the fourth grade."

Kennedy's eyes widened as she smiled. "Theo?" Theo Raeken. Her childhood best friend who had moved away from Beacon Hills after fourth grade.

"Hi, Kenn." Theo returned the smile, stepping closer towards her. Stiles automatically moved in front of Kennedy. Theo raised an eyebrow, moving back.

"You know him?" Malia moved to Kennedy's side.

"We all do." Stiles spoke, continuing to stare at Theo.

Theo nodded. "They used to." He let out a chuckle. "Trust me, I never thought I'd see you all again. A couple months ago, I heard of an Alpha in Beacon Hills. When I found out his name was Scott McCall, I just couldn't believe it." Kennedy nodded, glancing over at Scott. "Not just an Alpha, but a True Alpha."

"What do you want?" Scott asked his former friend.

"I came back to Beacon Hills." Theo shrugged, smiling. "Back home with my family. Because I want to be a part of your pack."

Stiles opened the doors to Beacon Hills High School, leading his friends inside. "We haven't seen this kid in years. You don't find that highly suspicious?"

"I'm kind of more concerned about the guy who just tried to kill me." Scott answered his best friend.

Malia's phone buzzed, and she opened it, reading the email sent to her by the school. She let out a sigh of relief. "I'm in."

"I knew you could do it!" Kennedy hugged Malia, happy that her and her best friend would be able to graduate high school together.

"I passed?" Malia furrowed her eyebrows as she hugged Kennedy back. She pulled away from the hug to speak to the rest of her friends. "I'm officially a senior."

"Thank god." Kennedy turned to see Lydia Martin rushing towards them through the hallway. "Where have you guys been? The whole senior class is here." She stopped in front of the group, biting her lip. "Are we doing this or not?"

Kennedy let out a giggle, nodding. She wrapped her arm around Lydia, and the group of teenagers made their way to the library. They all stood in line, each waiting for their chance to write their initials on a book shelf. Stiles stepped up first, writing 'MS' down. Stiles was only a nickname. His real name was Mieczyslaw. He looked down to Kennedy, handing her the pen. He turned to walk away, but pressed a kiss against her forehead first. Kennedy felt her cheeks heat up as she looked up at him. "Don't fuck it up." Stiles wiggled his eyebrows, watching as the girl he loved stepped up to the book shelf.

The pen in Kennedy's hand shook. She had been waiting for this moment her entire high school career. She brought the pen next to Stiles's initials and wrote her own. 'KA'. She smiled, handing the pen to Lydia. She turned from the book shelf and brought her fists to the air, celebrating. Stiles let out a chuckle as he watched Kennedy move next to him. Lydia wrote her initials down and placed the pen in Kira's hand. "This isn't vandalism, is it?" Kira questioned her.

"Not technically." Lydia shrugged, moving back to her friends.

Kennedy felt a hand touch her own, and looked up. Stiles was staring down at her, and she cocked an eyebrow. "Hold my hand?" Kennedy let out a giggle, nodding, taking Stiles's hand in her own. She knew her face was completely red as she watched Malia write down her own initials and move to stand with the rest of the group.

Scott was the last one to go. He stepped forward, writing down 'SM' with the sharpie. He paused before writing 'AA' beneath his initials. Allison Argent had been Scott's first love and died the previous year. Scott walked back to his friends after handing the sharpie off. "She would have been with us." Stiles spoke, looking down at the initials.

"Yeah." Scott nodded, wrapping his arm around Kira.

"She still is." A small smile appeared across Lydia's face as she spoke.

Authors Note -
I have always fricken loved this plot that I made, but every time I've tried to write it, it never ends up getting done. So I'm determined.
I don't know what has sparked me to start up a teen wolf fanfic again, but it happened and I kind of hate myself for it, but it's fine. Everything's fine.
Please comment what you want to see in future chapters, and don't forget to vote!
Have a nice day, lovelies 💕
