Chapter Thirty Four

I don't know what the hell went on last night but I know something is wrong. Luca isn't usually this skittish about things and suddenly I can't seem to get him to calm down. He always has this worried look on his face but when he notices me staring, he pushes it away with a smile.

He's fast asleep in my arms. His head is buried in my neck as I hold him close to my chest.

I love having him like this. I love him being in my bed.

My hand roams over his back, a t-shirt sitting on his body. I listen to his calm breathing as his fingers are gently resting on my shoulders, lips tickling the skin on my neck. I feel my eyes flutter shut for a moment, I could definitely get used to this.

Waking up on Sunday morning with the one person who makes you truly happy in your arms. Knowing that they are so comfortable in your space and company that they put their complete trust in you.

It's a warming feeling. It can never be replaced.

I brush back strands of blonde hair from Luca's face so I can look at him for a few moments. He's so peaceful when he sleeps, lips slightly parted and his fair lashes twitch every so often but he is like an angel.

My head leans in and I press a kiss to his forehead. I don't want to wake him but I can't help touching him, kissing him. It's inevitable when he's laying down beside me like this tucked into my embrace.

I can't help myself. Of course he wakes up.

Luca stirs from his sleep and grunts gently. His eyes are still shut but he squeezes them together. He's probably exhausted from leaving the house in the middle of the night and fretting about whatever is on his mind.

Slowly he cracks those light blue eyes open. He groans, groggy from his comatose sleep.

"What time is it?" He grunts.

I kiss the top of his head again, letting it linger for a few moments. He sighs and nuzzles his head back into my shoulder. "Just past nine," I whisper deeply.

"Mmmm," Luca smiles into my collarbone. "I love your morning voice."

Laugh rumbles from my chest. "You do?"

He peeks those blue eyes up at me unexpectedly. "Yeah, it's sexy."

Then of course he blushes. He has no filter on what he says but the way his body reacts is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. We've been dating for a while now and he still becomes flustered over the smallest things.

"Do you want to talk about whatever is going on with you?" I ask.

Luca avoids my gaze, placing his head against my shoulder and tucking his face under my jaw. He shakes his head and I sigh quietly. "It's nothing," he murmurs.

I chew on my lip for a second. It's clearly not nothing. I'm not stupid. I open my mouth to speak when I'm cut off by Luca's stomach rumbling. My head pulls back slowly and we share a glance, then Luca laughs.

"Are you always hungry?" I narrow my eyes playfully.

"When I'm around you, yes," he clarifies, which makes me smile. "Because you always feed me and I never leave here without being full."

We stare at each other for a moment before Luca widens his eyes. "That sounds really wrong," he states hesitantly but I laugh anyway and wrap my arms around him again, pulling his body on top of mine.

"I'll leave you full if you want me to," I whisper in his ear as our cocks brush one another through the material of our boxers.

Luca shudders in my arms and relaxes into me but when his stomach growls again–clearly not reading the room–I roll him onto his side. "It's trying to cock block us," he jokes and I raise my brows.

"I can see that," I laugh. "Come on, let's get some breakfast."

I roll out of bed and grab a pair of grey tracksuit bottoms before sliding into them and keeping my chest bare. Luca steps into the en-suite with his t-shirt and boxers, we both brush our teeth and he stares back at me in the mirror with a smile and toothpaste dripping down his chin.

Once we get downstairs, I glance in the fridge to find something that we could make. I hum and take out eggs and bacon. "What do you think about breakfast burritos?" I suggest.

Luca hums in approval and I find him rubbing his stomach. I bite back a laugh and nod. "We can put eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns and avocado," I state. "What do you think?"

"Hell yes," he hisses.

We work together to get breakfast running smoothly. He places the sausages and hash browns in the oven whilst I prepare the bacon and eggs for when everything else is ready.

I twist my head and take this moment to admire Luca. His feet are bare and his t-shirt resting just over his semi-tight boxers. He's reading the back of the hash brown packet carefully, those brows pinching to make sure he got the timings right. The smile on my face is imminent. God, he belongs here.

Something clicks in my mind. Pieces fitting together. This is it. This is everything I have ever wanted and I've never felt so content.

Luca catches me staring and tilts his head. "What?"

"I love having you here, in my kitchen," I take two steps towards him and he flicks those big curious eyes up at me. "It feels right. Like you were always meant to be here."

"Really?"

I bite down on my bottom lip, sucking it into my mouth. "Yeah," I rasp as I grab his hips and hoist him up onto the counter so his legs dangle over the edge. I settle myself between his knees, our faces merely inches apart. My hand rests on his cheek gently and he nuzzles his face into it. "You know you can tell me anything, right? I don't like it when I know something is wrong and you're trying to mask it."

We both know I won't let it go. I'm a very stubborn man. I will find out everything.

Luca glances down, his eyes faltering for a moment. I dip my head to catch his face but he cowers away from me.

"I don't like knowing my boyfriend is sad and doesn't want to confide in me."

He flicks his gaze to mine quicker than a flash of lightning. "D-Did you just call me your boyfriend?"

I grin because I did. I'm not even sure if I meant to say it but I certainly meant it. I don't want him dating anyone else, I most definitely don't want to be dating anyone else. "Yeah... you are, aren't you?"

"I guess you never asked me," he says shakily. "Or I never asked you."

My lips press together and I hum. "Well I guess that's true," I nod, sliding my thumb across his soft cheekbone for a moment. "Maybe I'm too old fashioned."

Luca rolls his eyes. "You're only ten years older than me."

"Only," I snort.

I try not to think about it. Not because the idea disgusts me but because I know Luca could be off having fun with someone the same age as him, someone who is still enjoying their lively twenties.

My finger flicks under his chin and I tilt his eyes. "I suppose this isn't very sentimental in our story," I find myself admitting. "But the time will come when I ask you but you're still my boyfriend."

Luca's eyes light up and he laughs quietly. "I'd like that," he nods. "A lot. Unconventional but cute."

I press my lips to his, settling between his thighs as I clutch the back of his neck. My fingers bury themselves into the strands of his hair as we taste one another, we breathe the same air and we feel the same things. I can't get enough of him. I don't want to take my hands off him. I want this to last forever.

Until the timer starts blasting and I curse in my mind because I don't want to burn the kitchen down.

When we pull apart we catch eyes, breathing heavily. His lips are slightly red from the bruising of the kiss but I like the look of it–my possession. "I mean it," I warn him. "When I say that you can tell me anything. Whatever is on your mind. I can see when those cogs are turning and you plaster one of those fake smiles across your face."

He blinks knowing he's been caught out. "It's nothing, I promise." He covers my hand with his in an attempt to reassure me. "Let's get the food out before it burns."

I nod and step away from his body, allowing him to jump down from the counter. "So that means it's something?"

"Declan," he looks at me over his shoulder. "It's fine. Please believe me."

"Okay," I say before we get the food out of the oven and I turn off the stoves cooking the eggs and bacon. We stand beside each other filling up the wraps to the extreme with everything I could find in my kitchen. "This is going to be delicious."

Luca nods in agreement. "My stomach is gurgling."

I puff out a laugh. "Thank God I'm here to feed you."

We take our foot and sip opposite each other at the table, I watch Luca as he takes his first bite and his eyes roll back into his head. I've made him feel like that before. But I push it to the side and let the food take the limelight right now.

"How is it?" I ask before taking a bite myself.

"Mmmm," he chews and then holds up both of his hands flashing me a 'ten'.

My eyebrows raise. "That good, huh?"

"The best. The taste is fucking delicious."

"Oh? I bet I know something that tastes more delicious." My eyes catch Luca's and I offer him a sly smirk.

His mouth falls open and I laugh. Always shamelessly flirting. I have no lock on my mouth and I don't even care. "Stop flirting with me over breakfast."

"Why?" I lean back in the chair and he watches me take a stance, filling up the space. "Does it make you think about me bending you over my bed and finally claiming that ass?"

Trust me, I've been thinking about it. A lot.

I haven't initiated it because I want things to go at Luca's pace. I want him comfortable, I want him thinking he's in control–when really I've got a bunch of tricks up my sleeve that I can't fucking wait to use.

Luca's eyes widen so much that I can't even hide my subtle laugh. It's out in the open now. "You do this on purpose," he shakes his head and then hides his eyes, along with his pink tinted cheeks.

"But when do I ever not go through with my words?" I raise a brow.

He pauses for a moment. "Never."

"Exactly," I say deeply. "Never."

Luca opens his mouth, only to shut it a few moments later. I bite into my burrito, still amused from the conversation. I shouldn't like seeing him squirm but I like knowing I'm affecting him, placing inappropriate thoughts into his brain because I can.

Because I want to.

"D-Do you want to fuck me?" Luca finally drags those dilated eyes up to me.

I chew on the inside of my cheek, enjoying this far too much. "Do I want to fuck you?" I repeat. Then I lean forward and he blinks, watching my lips. "Luca, I've been dreaming about fucking you for weeks. I haven't stopped thinking about pinning you down by the neck, mounting your body and making you beg me to come."

His mouth quivers, I'm sure a moan escapes those lips. "Jesus," he hisses under his breath.

"How about that for an answer?" I change my tone and dig into my burrito again.

Luca looks beyond flustered, his breakfast still between his hands but he hasn't taken a bite again. He's watching me–in shock?

"Eat up, it'll get cold," I drop him a wink.

He shakes his head. "You're pure evil."

"Trust me you'll thank me one day," I say.

"What do you mean?"

My eyes glitter in his direction. Oh I'm going to make you thank me alright. "Eat." I order him and he does.

I notice that he keeps glancing at me every so often. He's turned on, it's obvious. I have every intention of sticking to my word but I want him to eat first, that's my priority. His health before any sexual activity.

The doorbell to my house rings and I furrow my brows. Who is here on a Sunday?

I check my watch and click on my outside camera to find Nick and Elodie standing on the other side. "Shit," I curse.

"What?"

"I forgot that I invited Nick and Elodie over."

Luca offers me a smile. "It's okay." He says as he stands from the table and begins to place everything into the dishwasher. "I need to get home anyway."

I stand up beside him and grab his waist. "You don't have to go," I reassure him. "You can stay, spend time with us."

"It's okay," he kisses my jaw. "I should probably get back to see mum anyway."

My heart sinks. I don't want him to leave. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah," he smiles.

"I can't convince you to stay?"

"I doubt your brother wants visuals of you bending me over your bed." He shoots back.

I bark out a laugh. "True."

"I'll go get my things," he says before heading upstairs.

As I approach the front door and open it, I glance down at my beautiful niece. "Uncle Declan!" She yells which makes my smile hurt.

"What took you so long?" Nick huffs. Always such a grump.

I roll my eyes. "I have company, actually."

"Is that why you're shirtless?"

"Yes, it's Sunday."

"Sundays are shirt days, you know this, Dec."

I snort. "Every day is a shirt day."

As I step aside and let them in, Luca walks down the stairs now dressed in yesterday's clothes. Elodie recognises him instantly and she says 'hello'. She's too cute for her own good. I force Nick and Elodie into the kitchen so I can say goodbye to Luca properly.

"How are you getting home?" I ask.

"I'll walk," he shrugs.

I shake my head. "No, let me call you a cab."

"Unnecessary."

"Never for you."

"Declan–"

I've already pulled out my phone and got Uber up, it takes two seconds to click on his address and select a ride. Due in one minute. Perfect. "You didn't need to do that."

"Yeah, I did," I whisper, swiping my thumb down the edge of his jaw gently.

His eyes flutter shut. "You're too kind to me."

"I'll see you tomorrow?" I say lingering by the door.

"Yeah," he smiles and pushes up onto his toes. "Thanks for last night and breakfast."

I clasp my hands over his cheeks and smile, bringing his mouth to mine. "Don't thank me, I'd do absolutely anything for you."

His lips part and he takes a shallow breath. I notice something in his eyes but it's gone before I can think about it. "Me too." He responds.

"Bye," I kiss him gently. "Text me when you get home, alright?"

"Bye."

I wait for him to get in the Uber before I shut the door. I don't bother going to grab a shirt, I'm in the comfort of my own home. I can dress how I want.

I walk towards the kitchen where Nick has Elodie picking something to put on the TV. My brother turns to glance at me, then he smirks. "Your little toy boy, huh?"

"Shut up," I exhale with a laugh.
