39. Trip
Seokjin's point of view
I opened my eyes and found myself amid the black void. My head tilted, eyebrows creased and I looked here and there, trying to find so many answers.
Where am I? How did I get here? Why am I here? What the fuck is this place? And-
My thoughts halted when I saw a bright light forming in front of me, and soon a familiar figure came out of that bright light.
"Sunhee?" I called out her name and tried to reach her but I couldn't. As if my legs were glued to the spot I was standing. I looked down at my feet and tried to move them but it was all in vain. "Sunhee-" I once again called her and looked at her but words halted at the tip of my tongue when I saw her face morphed into disgust; tears streaming down from her cheeks. Seeing her like this made my heart clench and I wanted to embrace her and wipe away her tears- but I couldn't do it.
"How could you!?" She yelled, making me confused.
"What?" I asked, genuinely confused about what she was talking about.
"You're married!" She cried.
My face lost its color and my heart hammered in my chest. As if the world around me stopped- Sunhee stood there motionless, as if she had no soul; as if she was a mere statue. I opened my mouth to speak to her, but before words could leave my mouth my surroundings changed; altered into another
place and time.
Serene music played, and the perfect harmony of the piano and the violin filled the atmosphere; along with some hushed whispers of the guest. I looked at myself, I was in a crisp black suit, and shiny leather shoes.
An attire, very accurately similar to my wedd-
"Kim Seokjin," a gruff voice called out my name. I looked up and stared at the old priest. "Do you take Kim Hayoon to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?"
I slowly shook my head, I didn't want this. I peeked beside me and saw Hayoon who was standing there. I looked back to the priest and gasped, taking a few steps back because the way he was staring at me made my skin crawl, and goosebumps spread all over my body.
"Do you take Kim Hayoon to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?" He yelled, taking steps toward me whereas I took steps backward until I felt a dark presence behind me. I turned around, my face twisted into utter horror when I saw my parents looking at me the same way the priest was looking at me. I slowly moved away from them, even though my legs were shaking. My knees buckled when more people joined my parents and priest. I could see the familiar faces; Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hoseok.
My eyes searched for Hayoon, she was the only one who was normal here and who could save me but my heart fell when I saw her figure running away with a man. Now I was all alone-
"Do you take Kim Hayoon to be your wife? Do you promise to be faithful to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and to honor her all the days of your life?" I shut my eyes tightly and covered my ears with my hand, as they all began to chant this.
"No!"
My eyes jolt open, looking at the familiar ceiling. The sound of my alarm was getting irritating as the second passed. I groaned and looked around me, finding myself in the living room sitting on the sofa. I reached out for my phone and quickly turned off the alarm. I sighed once I turned it off, taking deep breaths and trying to calm myself down.
My heart was pounding inside my rib cage, beads of sweat rolling from my forehead to my neck.
It was nothing new, having this nightmare was common for me. But seeing her in my nightmares was something new. For the past few days- since I realized what I feel for her,
I have been dreaming about her; and not in a good way at all. And these dreams are the reason why I have developed this fear, fear of her knowing I'm married.
"Fuck." I whispered, I was in a truly fucked up situation. I slowly stood up, hissing when pain shot through my body. Of course, it was the perks of falling asleep while sitting on the sofa. I stretched my stiff body and walked to my bedroom. On my way to my bedroom, I saw some housekeepers who bowed to me.
Those pathetic cunts.
Whenever I see them I feel like firing each of them and making sure they live the rest of their existence in misery. But sadly, I can't do that because each of them is hired by my dad and if I do any harm to his sources of information it will create more problems for me... and Hayoon.
Fuck, why did I think of someone like her in the morning? As if my morning was not already ruined. I clicked my tongue, removed my t-shirt, threw it somewhere, and proceeded to remove my pants. I entered the bathroom and turned on the shower, standing under the warm water. I sighed as the water fell on every inch of my skin, soothing my aching muscles. Once I was done, I walked out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my hips, and with another towel, I was drying my hair.
I looked around my closet, contemplating what to wear today. Keeping the travel in mind, I chose to wear a plain white t-shirt, denim pants, and a Louis Vuitton denim jacket along with white boots. After getting ready I put on some skincare and picked up my bag I prepared for my trip to Paris. I climbed down the stairs and walked to the dining room, and saw Hayoon sitting at the dining table. Her eyes fall on me, and she looked at me from top to bottom, guess she didn't know I was going to Paris too.
"What's the occasion hubby, you're not in your usual attire." She asked, that obnoxious word leaving her mouth as the maid put various dishes in front of her. It wasn't that she wanted to call me that, but she had to.
"I'm having some meetings in Paris, as well as Fashion week to attend." I uninterested replied to her and sat in front of her.
"You're attending Fashion Week?" She asked. It was a surprise for her. "But you never attend these kinds of gatherings."
"Well, true." I picked up chopsticks. "But father asked me to, and I can't deny it." She nodded and went back to eating her breakfast.
"Do want anything else, sir?" One of the maids asked after she was done putting my breakfast on the table.
"Leave." She shut her mouth and scurried away.
"Someone's in bad mood today." I ignored her. "Did sleeping on the sofa put you in the worst mood?" She snickered.
"Shut up and eat your food otherwise you will be in one too." She immediately closed her mouth and began to eat her food in silence.
"What's the time of your flight?" I asked once I was done with my meal.
"It's night thirty."
"Fuck, why?" I tched.
"Don't tell me-"
"We are sharing the same flight. Did your manager book business-"
"Yes."
"Wonderful."
"Hey, it's not like we are gonna sit next to each other. Our seats might differ."
"I hope so." I sighed.
"I hope so too because I don't wanna sit next to some moody grown-ass man." I rolled my eyes when I heard her.
"Now if you excuse me. I will leave first." I walked out of the house, where my driver was waiting for me. Once I sat in the car, we drove off to the airport. Within half an hour I reached the airport. A bunch of reporters and fans were waiting for Namgihope and Hayoon. Their eyes fell on me as I walked into the airport, some reporters' cameras flashed, indicating they took pictures of me but expect from this they didn't do anything.
Last time some reporter tried to chase me, let's say I haven't seen them ever since they went bankrupt.
I expected Ms. Park to be waiting for me in the waiting area but I didn't. My eyebrows creased and my head tilted, she should be here by now. I checked my watch, it was six and by now she should be here. I waited for her for a few minutes and finally decided to call her. I tapped my feet in irritation, in a minute those dorks will be here and the entire airport will be filled with fans and reporters. All I wanted was to pass all security checks and stay at the airport lounge until boarding time.
After a couple of rings, Ms. Park finally answered the call.
"Ms. Park, where are you?" I asked as soon as she picked up.
"Sir-" her voice got cut off by some noise, my face churned into disgust when I heard her puking her guts out. Great. Just plain amazingly great. "I'm sorry sir, I will be-" her voice cut as she once again puked. I pulled away the phone and waited for her to come back to the line. "I'm so sorry sir." She apologized.
"Don't be Ms. Park." I sighed, pinching my nose bridge.
"Just give me half an hour-"
"No need." I cut her. "Take some medicines and rest. You don't have to be on this trip, stay at home and rest well. Consider this as a paid medical leave. Just send me my schedule."
"But sir- this is not a big deal."
"I don't want you puking your guts out for the entire plain ride. That would be one hell of embarrassment."
"A-Alright sir, I'm sorry, and thank you."
"Yeah, whatever." I hung up the call and stared at the blank phone screen for a solid minute.
Can this day be any worse?
Suddenly I heard screams and shouts from behind, along with the obnoxious sound of the camera shutter. I sighed, they were here. I turned around and saw them entering the airport, surrounded by bodyguards. They stood at the entrance, waving at reporters and fans. And as soon they entered the airport, their eyes fell on me who was standing in the waiting area.
"Seokjin!" Hoseok's eyes lit up, he ran to me- so did Namgi and their bodyguards. I thought Hayoon was not dumb but she proved me wrong by joining them. "Oh my god, what are you doing here." Hoseok enthusiastically asked.
"Just wonder what the airport looks like, so decided to visit it." Hoseok's smile dropped.
"So you have never seen an airport before. Dude even after being freaking rich." I exhaled deeply and looked at Namjoon.
"Hoseok, I was being sarcastic. I'm attending Paris Fashion Week."
His eyes widened. "Oh my god, so you're going to Paris too?" My eyes twitched. I didn't know if he was genuinely dumb or just trying to annoy me.
Either way, my urge to kill him was increasing with the passing minute.
"Namjoon." I put my hand on his shoulder. "I trust you to keep Hoseok safe and take him away from here before I do something I might regret." Immediately Yoongi pulled Hoseok away from me.
"What are you doing right now, should you be going for a security check?" Hayoon asked.
"Nothing." I kept the reply short.
"Then when-"
"Go, I will join soon." She shrugged her shoulder and started to walk away with her bodyguards.
"See you soon." After that Yoongi left and so did Namjoon and Hoseok. I took a deep breath once I was alone again.
I took out my phone and once again contemplated. To be honest, I thought about this so many times but dropped the idea because I began to have such dreams and Ms. Park already booked the tickets.
I don't think it will be a good idea.
But imagine, spending a week with her in Paris. Just me and her, we could spend so much time in the name of a business trip.
Okay, that's it!
I clicked on her contact, calling her. And I'm the first ring she picked up the call.
"Hello?" Her voice was groggy, indicating she was in deep sleep.
"Hurry up, I want you at Seoul International Airport in one hour."
"W-What?"
"We are having a trip together Sunhee."
