Brae's POV

Chris and I ended up sleeping in the Jeep overnight and now we are sitting in the forest in a clearing, waiting for Jack to show up. I hear footstep and I stand up on high alert.

I see Jack step through the tree line and I relax slightly. You can never be too careful on no man's land.

"Jack," I smile and give him a hug.

"How they hell are you standing here right now? And who is this?" He points to Chris.

"This is Chris. The Moon Goddess has other plans for me apparently so the bitch brought me back."

"Woah, woah. Why are you talking about Pera like that?"

"She won't let me be. I just wanted to be in peace in the clearing I have in heaven. She then came in saying I wasn't done on earth and I have more pain and suffering to go through."

"She said that?"

"Pretty much."

"Great, now the Moon Goddess is being a bitch to people who don't deserve it instead of the people who do."

"I know right!" I exclaim.

Jack nods his head and walks up to Chris with his hand outstretched.

"Nice to meet you, Chris. I am Jack."

"It is so nice to meet you sir. Truly an honour," Chris shakes Jack's hand and bows his head.

I roll my eyes and Jack sighs. I have learned that he doesn't like the formalities.

"How is Riggs doing?" I carefully ask.

"Not great," Jack shakes his head, "Losing another mate has really taken a toll on him."

"Wait, he doesn't know?" I wonder.

"No, we figured Peter would tell him, but he has kept his mouth shut."

"Huh," is all I say.

"Why did you ask Jack to come?" Chris asks.

"Right. My powers are starting to show and I need help trying to uncover the rest. There is something coming and I need to be prepared."

"Sure, I could use the practice as well."

"While we are at it, we are going to train this one," I gesture to Chris.

"Sounds like fun," Jack smirks and Chris looks slightly terrified. Jack and I laugh before talking about what to work on.

"What powers have you figured out?" Jack asks me.

"Well, I can create a mindlink with anyone like you, I can remove a mate's mark as you already know and the newest and most annoying on yet...I can't die!" I dramatically say.

"Really? That is an awesome gift," Jack states.

"No, it isn't. If it weren't for that curse, I would be back in heaven right now."

"What happened?"

I snort, "Came across a rogue when I came back. They took me down and bit my throat. I could feel the pain, but no injuries stayed. I healed immediately."

"I hope you too down that rogue, Brae."

"Actually..." I look at Chris.

"You have got to be kidding me. He could be planning on killing you."

"On come on, Jack. I found out why he was a rogue and what happened. He was telling the truth, trust me. Anyway, if he wanted to kill me, he would have done it last night or the night before."

"True," Chris agrees and I glare at him since he isn't helping his case. "Sorry."

Want to test this invincible theory?" Jack grins and I give him an odd look.

"You want to kill me?" I ask.

"I mean, if you are needed on this earth so bad, Pera will just bring you back."

I chuckle, "Let's do it."

Jack grins and walks into the forest, probably to his car. He comes back two minutes later with a duffle bag. He throws it in front of me and I unzip it. Inside are a whole bunch of different weapons from knives to guns.

"Start small, work our way to big?" I suggest.

Jack nods and Chris is just stares with wide eyes at the thought of what we are about to do. I take off my jacket and my tank top so I am just in a sports bra and jeans.

"Hit me with your best shot," I smirk.

Jack throws a throwing knife at the centre of my chest. I stumble back a bit and groan in pain. I grab the handle of the knife and pull it out of my chest.

"Hurts like a bitch, but no death."

"How about this?" He holds up a long sword. I shrug my shoulder and he launches it into my chest.

I glare Jack and he smiles before removing the sword. He walks back over to his bag, thinking before pulling out a black 9mm gun. He shoots a bullet in my chest. I look down and dig my fingers into my chest and my nail grab the bullet, pulling it out. Before I have time to react I hear another loud shot and I get a throbbing headache.

"You son of a bitch," I sigh before grabbing the bullet out of my head.

"Okay, this one may hurt...really bad," Jack warns.

"Give it to me," I smirk.

Another throwing knife is thrown at my chest and Jack wasn't lying, that really hurt.

"What the hell?" I ask as I pull out the knife and inspect it. "Silver?"

"Yup. Last deathly thing to a werewolf," he pulls out a syringe that has a green-grey tint.

"Wolfsbane?"

He nods and walks up to me, "Ready?" I nod in response.

He injects me me with the serum and it burns like fire as it spreads throughout my body. I grimace as it gets hotter until it suddenly stops hurting.

"I feel fine," I shrug.

"Wow, I guess you really are invincible," Jack states.

"Guess so," I grumble.

"Why don't we start on training?" Jack suggests.

We begin by showing Chris how fast attack moves can be and how much you have to think about what your next move will be. We do this by Jack and I battling. We decide to fight first in wolves and then in humans. We shift and I hear a gasp. I look over to Chris who is staring at Jack's wolf. I forgot to tell him that Jack was also a black wolf.

I look at Jack and notice the height difference, 'Noctis? Have you gotten bigger?'

'Yes.'

I am at least a foot taller than Jack which is impressive considering he is a male and the former Alpha King.

We start circling each other and I wait for him to strike first. He seems to be doing the same, but I refuse to attack before I see a weak spot and I bet he is doing the same.

I mentally smirk and fake a weakness, I shift my weight my one hind leg. I see him look at the spot and jumps, aiming for my left hind leg. I quickly jump out of the way.

I turn towards him quickly to see his paw coming towards my face. I try to jump out of the way but he catches my back. That'll leave a mark. When he thinks I am wounded, I bite his right shoulder causing him to let out a growl and shove me off.

I unintentionally stumble and Jack takes that as an opportunity. He jumps and lands on top of me. He goes for the final bite, but I get my hind legs under his belly and I push hard. He flies away from me and I rush over to him biting him in the neck, not hard enough to kill him.

Jack let's out a grunt in surrender and I let go, taking a few steps back. We both shift back into our human forms. I hold out my fist and Jack chuckles before bumping it with his fist.

"That was incredible!" Chris exclaims.

"Yeah, Jack is a good fighter," I state.

"You aren't too bad yourself," Jack smiles.

"You really to start your training Chris?"

"Hell yeah!"

I get Chris to shift into his blonde wolf and I shift into my black wolf. I open a link between Chris, Jack, and I.

You want to always look for weaknesses in your opponent. Never attack first if you don't have to. If you are going to attack first, you better find a weak spot first, I tell Chris and turn my head to Jack to see if he has anything to add.

"Sometimes it is hard to tell if the weakness is real or if the opponent is faking, as you could see during our fight," Jack adds.

People who are less experienced fighters will be very obvious with their weaknesses when faking so be careful if you chose to go for one, I inform Chris and he nods his wolf head.

"Let's get this started," Jack smirks.
