Brae's POV

I fight to stay alive as I can only see black around me. I know my eyes are closed, but they feel like my eyelids weight a ton. I panic slightly as I feel the darkness trying to pull me farther in and I fight it as much as I can.

Noctis?

Yes?

Can you tell Zane that I am sorry and I don't want to go, but I can't hold on longer. Tell him that I am sorry.

Okay.

I feel Noctis take over my body, but I can only see darkness and I can't hear anything. I know Noctis is telling Zane what I asked and I feel myself weaken. I fall deeper into the darkness and I soon feel myself leave my body.

When I wake up I am in my clearing in the woods. I look at all the beautiful flowers that once brought me peace, but now they bring me sorrow. I see a log cabin at the edge of the clearing that was never there before.

"It's because we aren't going back," I turn to see Noctis.

"At least I'm not alone here. I want to go back Noctis. I want to live out a life with Zane."

"I know, I do too. Blade seemed so nice and I really do love him."

We fall into a silence before I feel Pera appear behind me. All I can feel is anger towards her for taking me away from my mate. My chance at happiness.

"What happened to having happiness after my pain, Pera, why don't I get happiness?"

"I'm sorry Brae, but your time on earth is up. There was many ways this could have gone and you chose one of the paths that lead here."

"What do you mean one of the paths? What else could I have done? Let the who pack die?"

"Yes, or you could have stayed at the battle to fight instead of looking for Albert and Cassius."

"What would have happened if I didn't go after to Albert and Cassius? Would they have died?"

"No. They would have lived and then come back at another time."

"Okay," I say while thinking.

I guess this was the right thing to do. I died so that many others didn't have to. I would be selfish to be mad about that.

"Thanks," I say to Pera.

"What?" She asks, confused.

"Thank you for letting me go back last time, for letting me meet my second chance, and letting me save them."

"I'm sorry it had to turn out this way."

"That's okay. I will come to terms with it eventually."

Pera nods and leaves me and Noctis alone. I walk to the cabin with Noctis beside me and I must say that it is beautiful inside. There is a kitchen filled with food, a cozy living room, two bedrooms and lots of windows.

"I could get used to this," Noctis says in awe.

"Yeah, me too."

I grab some chips and Noctis does the same. We sit on the comfy couch and we watch some comedy tv show about detectives in New York.

Later That Night

Noctis wants to go on a run in her wolf and I don't want her to leave me. She is my wolf so I can't shift. I watch Noctis shift into her beautiful black wolf and I get a feeling in me to do the same.

Shift, Noctis tells me.

How? You are my wolf, I tell her and she rolls her eyes.

You are still a werewolf, now shift to run with me, Noctis pouts.

I take a step back away from Noctis and focus on shifting. A few seconds later I am standing face to face with Noctis in my wolf.

We're twinsies! Noctis giggles.

Our wolves are both the exact same. We could be twins if we weren't technically the same person. We start running and we run for hours in the forest without the fear of being hunted or hurt. It felt amazing. We fine a crystal clear lake to go swimming in both wolf and human forms. We find out that if you imagine what you want, it will appear. So I imagine myself wearing a bathing suit and BAM! I am wearing a bathing suit. We eventually make it back to the cabin and we head to our separate rooms to fall asleep.

That is how the next few weeks go. Noctis and I hang out, go on runs, and laugh with each other. I have never felt this carefree in my life and it feels amazing. In a way, I am glad that I am here with Noctis and I am not alone. I am sad that I am no longer with my friends, but maybe when it is time, I will meet them again.

I am awaken in my sleep by knocking at the door of the cabin. I'm my half asleep state I make my way to the front door and open it as another knock was about to ring. My eyes are still closed because I am on the verge of falling asleep again.

"Yeah?" I ask groggily.

"Brae?" I hear a mans voice asks.

"Yup," I reply with my eyes still closed.

It takes me a solid minute before I remember I am dead and there is someone knocking on my door in heaven.

I open my eyes to see Zane and another man standing in front of me. Without even thinking I jump into Zane's arms and squeeze him into a tight hug. I can feel the sparks from his touch.

"Noctis!" I shout.

I hear Noctis' sleepy footsteps walk across the hardwood floor before stopping just behind me. I haven't let Zane go, I feel like I can't. I have missed him so much.

"Blade?" I hear Noctis ask the other man. That must be Zane's wolf.

"Noctis," Blade smiles and embraces Noctis in a tight hug.

"What happened? Why are you guys here?" I ask Zane.

"It has been over a hundred years Brae. It was my time to go during a battle and it was worth it. I can't believe I am standing in front of you right now," Zane has a huge smile on his face.

"A hundred years?!"

"Yeah, why?"

"It has only been a couple weeks for us. I guess time works differently here," I explain.

"I don't care how the time works, I am just glad I get to see you again!"

Zane finally kisses me. I have finally gotten my true mate to kiss me. I am so happy right now and I can tell Noctis is as well. I finally feel completely content.

I am finally free with my handsome mate by my side for the rest of eternity.
