love
I saw you for the first time at school.
It was recess and you were in one of the classrooms talking to a teacher.
With two friends with you.
I recognized one of them and waved hello through the window, but stopped when I saw you.
For I was shocked at your beauty.
Your dark raven hair and your caramel colored skin that shined in the light through the window.
You were the most stunning person I had ever seen.
I needed to get to know you. I had to.
If not, I would go insane.
As soon as you left the classroom, I marched right up to you and said hello and introduced myself.
You seemed a bit hesitant at first, probably questioning why a random girl came up to talk to you.
I complimented your long, shiny hair, that was tied back in a long braid that cascaded down your back.
I said it was lovely and I wished I had such hair.
You smiled and thanked me and we began to talk.
Three years later we were best friends.
You were the closest friend I ever had.
Talking and texting everyday.
Laughing and smiling.
I told you all my secrets.
My hopes.
My dreams.
My fears.
Everything.
I was an open book for you.
Your smile made me smile.
When you were happy, I basked in your glow and was ecstatic at your mood.
And when you were sad, I was there.
I would cheer you up and make you laugh.
Comfort you in anyway I could.
Help you in every way possible.
I love you.
More than you know.
We say I love you as friends, but you don't know I mean more.
I wish I had the courage to tell you, but I am scared.
Scared that you would push me away and never see me again.
Scared that I would never see you smile.
And the way your dimples shown as you laughed.
You lovely eyes that glowed when you spoke with such animation about things you are passionate about.
I will forever be your friend.
But one day, I hope I can be more.
