You were floating. Weightless. Among an endless ocean against a clear blue sky. You stared into the beautiful blue with one eye. Your other caused blurry vision. Your left arm felt numb. You couldn't move it.
What happened? You used your power to fling that monster into the sun, but what came after? Where were you?
???: Oh my. You look a bit unwell.
You looked up and suddenly found yourself looking at a familiar face.
???: Now, what are you doing here so early?
You blinked, confused. Your eye then went wide.
Y/N: Grandma?
Muriel: Well, who else would I be?
How? How was she here?
You sat up and stared at her in disbelief.
Y/N: It hurts.
Muriel kneeled down and placed a hand on your head. You were just a child. Too young to understand why your parents weren't coming home. Why you couldn't see them again.
Your body still hurt. It was apparently a miracle that you had survived. It was even more of a miracle that your injuries were minimal. The worst you had was a cut up arm and damage to your eye. It was why it was bandaged as it was.
Liz had been quiet since you got here. You didn't know what to say to her. You wanted to apologize. Was the accident your fault? Maybe. You didn't know. It felt like it was. Why else did you survive?
You sat with your back against the chicken pin. You had your knees pulled up and you were staring out at the nothing that laid before you. Desert as far as the eye could see. This was just life in Nowhere. A life you'll have to become accustomed to.
Muriel: Come inside. I'll make some pancakes.
You didn't say anything. You just sat there. You didn't want to go inside. You just wanted to be left alone.
Your grandma seemed to realize this. She gently brushed some hair out of your eye and smiled sweetly.
Muriel: Okay. Try not to stay out here for too long. You have people waiting for you.
People waiting for you.
You were sure your grandpa would complain about being hungry when you got back, but you would cross that bridge when you got there. Right now, you kept your head down as you walked alongside your grandma.
People stared at you like you were some kind of freak. Like you were a literal ghost. A walking corpse. You honestly felt like it sometimes.
Muriel: Wait here. I'll be but a moment.
You stopped walking and watched as your grandma entered a store. You looked around at some of the people who was going about their day. Some looked at you. Some ignored you. Some didn't even know you were there.
You lowered your head again, scared. You were a freak. Never to have a place in the world anymore.
Then, you heard a sound.
You looked up and found yourself looking at the alley beside you. You peeked in and noticed some movement in a trashcan. Some kind of small animal.
You walked into the alley and stopped innfront of a dumpster. It was a dog? A pink one. He was shaking and scared. Just a puppy.
He had no place, just like you. He seemed frightened by your appearance. You looked like a mummy with all your bandages. Still, you were no danger.
You reached out and gently began to pet the pup.
Muriel: What are you doing out here all alone?
You looked back as your grandma walked over. She looked at the dog and then looked to you.
Muriel: He's a courageous little pup, isn't he?
You nodded. You picked him up and cradled the dog.
Muriel: I suppose every boy needs a dog. What should we call him?
You thought about it before you nodded.
Y/N: Courage.
You then looked at the dog.
Y/N: We can be outcasts together.
You closed your eye and took a breath.
You then lifted.
Your hands clenched the bottom pipes of the tractor that felt much lighter than it should have. Your eye was wide in surpise as you looked down at your grandpa. He was astonished at the sight of his 13 year old grandson holding a whole tractor over your head.
Your bandage even fell off to reveal that your eye had fully healed. Not even a scar remained.
You were 12 years old, and yet you were stronger than any man in the world. At least to Liz's knowledge.
Liz: Y/N?
You looked down at her and slowly smiled.
Y/N: Hey, Liz. So, uh, I think I started puberty.
Liz couldn't help but smile as well. Not because of the amazing feat of strength, nor for you saving your grandpa.
You hadn't smiled since the accident two years ago.
And that was just the start. You began to fly, using your ability to now find peace ontop of the windmill that your grandmother always lectured you about. Still, your eye acted up every now and then.
You found it easier to cover it. Especially since it would raise suspicion. You were still an outcast among your peers, but you held a secret. If they knew, they would be much kinder. But, you'll have to deal with their constant cutting down.
At least you weren't entirely alone.
Zak: Yo!
Y/N: What's up?!
You chatted with your only friend over a computer screen. While he was off having amazing adventures with his family, you were here. Stuck in the middle of the desert.
Zak: Dude, guess where I am.
You thought back on your last conversation. It was honestly hard to guess where the Saturdays were. Especially when so much mystery filled the world.
Y/N: Is it somewhere cold?
Zak: Not even close. We're in the Amazon!
You were happy for your friend. Really, you were. But you couldn't help but feel jealous. You wanted to see the world. To explore. To be more.
Muriel: You are more.
You looked to your left where your grandma was standing. You were once again back on the water. The nothingness around you wasn't unnerving. It was actually peaceful.
But, maybe that was just because of the woman standing beside you. The woman who you loved and missed.
Y/N: I'm not. I'm still just the same scared kid I was. Nothing has changed.
Muriel: You're wrong.
Buttercup: You're strong.
You looked forward to see others standing there.
Blossom: You're smart.
Bubbles: And brave.
Mitch: And a bit crazy.
Brat: Seriously, something isn't wired right in your head.
Zak: You're so unpredictable it's kinda scary.
You looked at your friends who all stood there, smiling and laughing. Not at you. Because of you. The joy they felt when they recalled their time with you was undeniable.
Brat stepped forward with a nervous smile. She placed her hands in her hoodie pocket.
Brat: Honestly, I wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for you. You saved my life, in more ways than one. You never even used it against me either. You did it because, because you believed in me.
Mitch threw an arm around her with a grin.
Mitch: And you took me along on all these crazy adventures. You trusted me to have your back, and you became something more than a friend to me. You became my brother.
He gave you a thumbs up before Brat elbowed his gut. Zak chuckled.
Zak: You made some interesting friends, dude. Honestly, I couldn't be happier. Now we can explore the world together.
Bubbles: And we can go watch more shows! You're my drama buddy after all. We still have a play to do!
Buttercup formed a fist and held it up.
Buttercup: And we still have some unsolved business to take care of. After that, I wanna have a fight. No hold bars. We gotta see who's stronger!
Blossom folded her hands in front of herself and stepped forward.
Blossom: You came into our lives and changed them forever. You're our friend and we need you.
She held her hand out.
Blossom: You have a place in the world. And we have a place with you.
You blinked and you suddenly found everyone standing there. The Rowdyruffs, the TND, the Eds, even Mandy, Dutchess, and Jr. where there. Courage smiled and waved while Liz and the Professor hung back. Both looking at you with proud smiles.
Muriel: You have people waiting for you.
You looked to your grandma who was smiling as sweetly as ever.
Muriel: You may not see it, but I do. You're not the same child you once were.
You looked back to your friends, and you smiled. You slowly reached out and took Blossom's hand.
Muriel: You were always more. You were always a.....
Power Up
Chapter 63: Hero
You opened your eyes and found yourself staring at a bright light. You groaned and tried to lift your arm, but you couldn't move it. Not only that, but your eyesight was blurry in one eye. You lifted your good arm and held it in front of your left eye, trying to see if you could see anything.
You pushed the light away and sat up. You then touched your eye. You looked around the medical bay you found yourself in to see that it was empty.
You got to your feet and noticed a change of clothes on a nearby seat. You looked at the hospital gown you were currently wearing and decided to take the clothes.
After changing, you stepped out of the room and immediately found yourself looking at the familiar logo of the Saturday family. So, you were in Townsville still. That was at least good news.
You walked around the airship for a while before you found the exit. You were now standing in the backyard of your house. It was quiet. Peaceful. A complete contrast to the battle that knocked you out.
Y/N: Hello?
No answer. At least, not right away.
The backdoor suddenly opened and a few people rushed out. Super hearing was just another power to the girls and Brat. Though no one else would've heard you, they did.
You suddenly found everyone rushing to you, coming to check on your condition. Though you may be blind in one eye and your arm was dead, you couldn't help but smile.
This was your place in the world.
