some of us have to make mistakes, some of us are human
AS the Winchester's and Hope walked into Pop's diner, the blonde smiled at the owner who knew her pretty well.
Since the diner was only about fifteen minutes away from her house, she had been going there since she was little.
"Hey, Hope," Pop's, the owner called out, waving at the girl who waved back.
Her blonde hair was up in a messy bun, she was wearing sweatpants, a hoodie, and slip on shoes. She didn't care what she looked like, especially after having the day she did yesterday. Within twenty-four hours, she had an outburst and almost got killed by an assassin.
Hope slid into a seat beside Dean, smiling at Sam and Cas who sat opposite of them. "What are we doing here, guys?"
"We told you," Sam said, giving her a look. "After the time you've had since you got back here, you need a break."
"Just because you guys showed up, it's not going to stop the fact that there is assassin's out there after my pack and after those like me," Hope told them, leaning back in the seat, sighing. "I appreciate you guys coming out here, I do, but you're in danger, too. If that one assassin knew that you are associated with me, that means so does others. They could use you to get to me or the other way around."
Dean smirked. "Honey, people have tried to kill us, but we just keep coming back stronger. They ain't gonna do shit to us. And they ain't gonna do shit to you either; apparently you're a fucking tribrid according to Scott and Stiles."
Hope let out a groan, running a hand through her hair. "Of course they told you everything." She glanced around the table at all three of them. "Guys, I'm fine."
"Hope... you just found out that your parents or one of your parents is a friggin' vampire," Dean whisper-shouted, giving her a hard look. "I didn't even know that vampires could procreate."
Hope shrugged. "I didn't either." She cleared her throat. "We're here to eat, not talk about my messed up life." She grabbed the menu and started looking through it.
"Hey, Hope!"
The blonde in question turned around to see Rebekah, the girl she has ran into in the hallway yesterday. Right beside her was a boy not that much older than her with brown hair and mischief in his dark eyes. He was very cute, in her opinion.
"Hey." Hope smiled, raising an eyebrow at Rebekah.
"Oh," Rebekah muttered. "This is my older brother, Kol," She introduced.
Kol smirked and looked down at his niece. "My sister told me so much about you."
Hope looked to Rebekah. "All good things I hope?" Dean cleared his throat and nudged the small girl who turned to give him an amused look. She rolled her eyes and looked back to Rebekah and Kol. "These big, lumbering idiots are my brothers Dean, Sam, and Cas."
"Oh, I didn't know you had more brothers. I heard that Scott McCall was your only brother," Rebekah stated, looking at the three much older men, raising an eyebrow.
Hope smiled lightly. "Scott is my adoptive brother," She said. "These idjit's aren't really my brothers or adoptive, but I love them and consider them family."
"Oh, shucks, sweetheart," Dean said sarcastically, wrapping an around around the blonde, grinning. "I didn't know you loved us that much." He ruffled her hair and she glared and elbowed him in the stomach which sent him flinching back, wheezing. "I hate you."
"You love me," Hope shot back at him. She fixed her hair and narrowed her eyes. Dean stuck his tongue out at her and she retaliated by doing the same.
"I'm so sorry for their behavior, they act like they're five," Sam apologized, sending the siblings a small smile, though, he caught the fond looks they were giving Hope.
"It's fine," Rebekah stated. "We all have our childish sides. Especially this one." She gestured to Kol who sucked in a breath and held a hand up to his chest.
"You wound me, sister," he said sarcastically which made Hope chuckle.
"I think I will like you, Kol," Hope said, smiling up at him. They were definitely going to be the best of friends.
"Awe, she likes me more than you, sister." Kol smirked at his sister who slapped him upside the head. "Ow!" He exclaimed, rubbing his head, and glaring at Hope who laughed out loud.
"You guys can join if you want," Hope said, gesturing to the table they say at. "Pop's won't care if you pull a seat up and sit with us."
"Is that right?" The man in question walled over to the bunch, smiling at the girl he considered a daughter. Hope was a very nice and well-behaved kid, and she would always end up helping if the diner is too busy for him to handle. "The usual?"
Hope grinned and nodded. "Get Rebekah and Kol one, too. I think they'll like it."
Pop's nodded and looked to the three older men who had come in with Hope. "I haven't seen you guys for a while, same with Hope. Did something happen?"
Hope gulped and entwined her hands together. "You remember the guy -- Bobby -- I was telling you about?" The older man nodded. "He, um, he passed away." She had to force the words out. She missed Bobby so much. He was always there when she needed a shoulder to cry on or when she needed to learn some new spell or, well, anything she ever needed.
"I'm sorry to hear that, sweetie," the old man sympathized, seeing how messed up she truly was over the man's death. "It'll get better, trust me."
"It was just so close after Alli... it hurts a lot," She admitted, not feeling embarrassed or ashamed that Rebekah and Kol was hearing her right now. "I miss them."
"You know what? Your food is on the house today," Pop's said, shaking his head when the blonde went to speak. "It's the best thing I could do after the year you've had."
"You don't have to, Pop's," She told him. "But, I appreciate it," She added, giving the old man a kind smile. "Thank you." She knew that if she were to argue, he would win anyway, even if she was hella stubborn.
"Anything for you, Hope." The older man then walked away.
"I'm so sorry to hear about your friends," Rebekah said, breaking the silence as both her and her brother grabbed a seat and sat down at the edge. "If you need anything, we're here for you."
Hope sniffled. "You barely even know me."
"I don't care," Rebekah said, giving her a smile. "I already like you more than anybody else in this town."
Hope chuckled. "I guess that's good."
Kol laughed. "Of course it is. I just met you and I already know that you and I will be the best partners in crime."
"Hell yeah!" Hope cheered, holding her hand up for a high-five. Kol slapped his hand against hers, which sent a shock down Hope's arm, making her gasp.
"What's wrong?" Dean asked, worried.
Hope smiled. "Nothing, just a shock, that's all." She eyed the siblings. That shock she had just got from Kol was not normal, but she liked it. It was like, even her powers knew that these siblings were going to be part of her life whether she liked it or not.
The rest of the night, they ate fries, sipped their milkshakes, and laughed and told stories. Surprisingly, even Dean, Sam, and Cas had gotten along with the siblings, even if they were a little suspicious, but they loved how they made Hope smile and laugh like nothing bad had ever happened to her.
Then, all of a sudden, Hope got a gut wrenching feeling that told her one of her pack mates were in trouble.
She got up from her seats, ignored the looks that the others gave her and ran out of the diner, into the woods, and followed where her magic sent her, which was to a well.
She looked down the well and saw Liam, hurt, bleeding, and about to fall down into the water. She threw out her hand and muttered a spell, levitating Liam out of the well, not aware of the six originals that were watching her.
Rebekah and Kol had called them and told them that something was wrong with Hope, that she had ran out on them, so they all met up and searched for her.
Meanwhile, Dean, Sam, and Cas were also looking for her.
Hope gently placed Liam on the ground and went to check to see if he was okay when she was roughly grabbed by the hair. She grunted and twisted her body around, kicking the legs out from underneath the person who grabbed her. She then pressed her foot down on his chest. "Garrett?" She breathed out, narrowing her eyes. "You're an assassin?"
Garrett smirked. "And you're the highest on the list." He went to get something out of his pocket when she bent down and muttered a spell, making him go unconscious.
"Liam!"
The familiar voice of Scott and Chris made Hope tense up before smiling. She turned around and saw Chris before she bolted towards him, jumping into his arm. "I didn't know you were back!" She exclaimed, looking at the older man who was Allison's dad. "Is Isaac...?"
Chris shook his head. "He stayed back in Paris. He couldn't bare to come back here. He says he misses you, though," he told her, lowering her to the ground.
Hope nodded and turned to her brother who was checking Liam out. They all three knew that they needed to get him to Deaton's and fast.
LATER on that night, Garrett was kept in a cell at the sheriff station when Hayley, an angry mother, compelled her way in.
She approached his cell and grinned at his sleeping figure. She opened the door with a key she had took from a guard and waltzed in. She attacked, fast and stealthily.
She made his death look like a suicide.
