Red Racer
Cassie left her dad's office to see Rosa and Trevor waiting for her. "Guessing your old man isn't taking things well?" Rosa asked. Cassie couldn't make an argument with that. "No more than usual," She replied. "I'm sorry you had to be dragged into this." She apologized to Trevor. "Yeah, about that," Trevor questioned. "What exactly is all this?" He asked. "It's a long story," Cassie replied. "But basically, my parents built this place in case monsters like those Negawatt's ever came to our world." She explained before catching him up on what they already knew. Afterward, Rosa felt like something was off. "Why would he tell you to leave and not Jakob?" She questioned. Cassie shrugged. "Guess we'll have to figure it out ourselves." She said.
Trevor looked behind Cassie to notice Jakob exiting the office and walking towards them. "Speaking of which." He said before motioning towards Jakob. Cassie turned to look at Jakob before speaking. "Did he say anything about the bracelet?" She questioned. Jakob shook his head. "As far as we can tell, there's no reason it should react to anyone," He stated. "Besides, he's not thrilled of your need for outsiders." He added. Trevor didn't take kindly to his response and scowled at him. "In case you forgot, Ortega," He told Jakob. "You were the one who suggested I put it on." He claimed.
Rosa noticed Jakob give a smile at that response. "Something tells me you didn’t bother to share that information." She added as she stepped closer. Jakob's expression changed as he made eye contact with Rosa. Her eyes were dark and cold, sending a shiver down his spine. "Look, it doesn't matter anyway," He told them, looking away from her gaze. "There's no need for Trevor to keep it." He told Cassie, who shook her head in disbelief. "Rosa had gone through the exact same process," She stated in response. "Besides, his powers have already formed." She added.
As Cassie and Jakob continued to argue among themselves, Trevor saw the case that contained the bracelets but noticed something off. "Uh, Jakob?" He said in an effort to get his attention. "Jakob," He repeated after not getting a response. "Ortega!" He shouted, alerting Jakob. "You have another problem!" He warned as he pointed to the case. Jakob walked over to the case, immediately noticing that the red bracelet was missing. "What did you do with it?!" He snapped at Trevor. "Me? It's your suitcase!" Trevor fired back.
Cassie shook her head before getting between the two boys. "Enough, you can kill each other later," She told them. "Is there any chance you can track it?" She asked Jakob. "Not unless it gets activated," Jakob replied. "Guessing this strange heat signature this system is detecting has a connection?" Rosa questioned as she sat by one of the computers nearby. "How'd you get into my account?" Jakob asked. "Don't worry about it," Rosa replied. "Scans are showing a similar energy to our powers racing around the campus." She added.
Cassie nodded and looked to the group. "Then we'd better go and find them before they start causing problems." She stated. Jakob began to argue but stopped when Cassie gave him a look, signaling him not to bother. "Let's go," He stated after hearing the seriousness of Cassie’s tone.
The team quickly made their way out of the facility and into the campus. Everyone was rushing around as a red blur raced throughout the hallways. "Maybe if we use our abilities, we can catch them." Cassie suggested to the group. Trevor agreed, but Rosa and Jakob seemed a bit cautious. "We should hold off for now." Rosa stated in response. "For once we agree," Jakob replied. "There's too many people around," He explained. "It's too risky." He warned. Using their powers would reveal themselves as the identities of the Undercover Rangers.
"There's got to be an alternative." Cassie said to the team. The group thought for a moment as they tried to think of a plan. "There's a construction area for the new gym a couple rooms down," Trevor told her. "The cameras aren't installed yet, so we can morph and teleport back." He added. "Good thinking, let's go!" Cassie replied as she, Trevor, and Rosa began to hurry over. "Wait, student can't access that area!" Jakob exclaimed. Rosa paused and turned to him. "Look, Brainy, there is a red blur screwing around the campus," She told Jakob. "Are you with us or not?" She questioned. Jakob reluctantly agreed and followed the group into the construction zone.
The team entered the area and made sure the coast was clear before circling up. "I have a plan," Cassie told the group. "Rosa and I will try to block the speedsters pathway before they cause anymore damage," She explained. "Trevor, you use your strength to put a stop to them and allow Jakob to create a firewall barrier around them." Everyone looked to one another and agreed with the plan. "Let's do this!" Cassie said before the team activated their morphers. "Undercover Initiate!" The called out in unison. They then morphed into their suits and teleported to the hallway.
Cassie and Rosa immediately darted off to different areas of the hallway while Jakob and Trevor remained behind and on guard. Rosa used her abilities to dissappear from view, giving her an advantage to get past the speedster. Cassie looked around, pausing as she heard quick footsteps. Before being able to dodge, however, she was hit from the side. "Sorry," the speedster told her. "I can't stop!" He shouted in warning, his voice distorted. Meanwhile, Rosa had managed to close and lock one of the doors and was starting to lose control over her invisibility.
"Not a great time for this!" Jakob exclaimed to Rosa. Rosa shifted her attention to him and shook her head. "It's not that easy, brainiac!" She snapped back as the speedster was suddenly coming towards them. "Can you guys banter later?" Trevor asked as he noticed the speedster. He then crossed his arms in front of him to block the speedster. The speedster bounced back from the impact, as if he had hit a boulder. Jakob took the opportunity and generated a firewall barrier around the speedster, leaving him phasing in place.
Cassie and Rosa came to the area to see the speedster. After a little while of scanning the speedster, it ended up revealing that the speedster was Lorenzo. The bracelet had given him super speed but was unstable due to how quickly it kicked in. "Let's get him back to FIREWALL." Cassie suggested. Everyone agreed and teleported away, not realizing they were being watched. The figure walked over to where the team was and created a glowing orb. "I figured you'd prefer to be aware, Dark Oracle," They said into the orb. "It seems the Undercover Rangers have completed their count." They warned. "On the contrary, they are weakened by inexperience of their abilities," They continued. "How do you wish to proceed?" They questioned. "Observe for the time being," Dark Oracle replied on the other end of communication. "All will fall into place soon enough." She stated before ending the call, dissipating the orb. Around the corner, Lyla was eyeing the person in suspicion, being sure to walk off before she could be spotted.
