Chapter Fifty-three: Last Hero Standing
Sammy couldn't believe what was happening, here he was working with Colby and trying his best to help figure out how to save his ranger buddies as well as his brother. While the two worked long and hard, Lucifer was busy admiring everything that had happened. By creating a monster, he could bring about the ranger's downfall, there was no way the rangers could find their way out unless they made it to the end of the book.
"I got to hand it to you, Morgana," says Lucifer. "Without your magic we'd probably be stuck with the rangers defeating us once again,"
"I'm glad I could help my lord," says Morgana. Though, recently Morgana had been questioning her allegiance, she felt as though Lucifer was only a small part of the problem, why with his obsession of the colt and all. She wanted more, she wanted Lucifer's throne, if her magic was still this powerful then once Lucifer was out of the picture she could happily take the throne. "What if the rangers attempt to break free?"
"Then we shall see to it that the rangers don't," responds Lucifer. "Send the dark angels to each world now,"
Sean hated that he was stuck in a book he hated that he was considered a reboot. Whatever that meant, but he did wish he had his ring. The girl's eyes looked at him questionably it was like she did not trust him.
"Isn't he an adult?" says the girl. "Shouldn't you kill him?" Sean's heart dropped to his stomach as he looked at a tray next to him, his morpher was right on the tray and he needed to get it he wasn't sure when he would return back to his world but he sure as hell was not going to leave without his ring.
"Please don't do that," says Sean. "I don't even belong here,"
"I'm sorry but adult reboots aren't allowed here," says the girl. Sean got off the hospital bed as he quickly reached over and grabbed his ring. The doctor stepped back in shock however the girl got in a fighting stance ready for a fight if need be. Sean placed the ring on his finger as he looked around at everyone.
"You've got to trust me," says Sean trying his best to stay alive. The girl seemed to hesitant but reluctantly agreed.
"First things first," says the girl. "We need to embed something into your wrist,"
"My wrist?" on cue, the doctor grabbed a cattle prod, grabbed Sean's wrist, and twisted it to a point where he winced in pain. Suddenly, the pain got stronger as the hot cattle prod struck Sean's bare skin on his wrist. He cried out as his skin was seared as the doctor pulled the prod away and Sean held his wrist to his chest. "Ow! What is that?!"
"It's your numbers," says the girl. "Now come with me," not long after they had left med bay did the dark angels appear in the hallways. The girl gasped as she looked at the creatures in shock.
"What are these things?!" yells the girl. "Are they friends of yours? And how did they get in?!"
"They aren't friends of mine,"
"I hope you're really good at fighting," says the girl.
"You'll see," says Sean as the dark angels attacked Sean and the girl. Sean started fighting against them knocking them down and making sure to keep them down. But the more he fought the more the dark angels appeared which left one thing. It was time for him to morph. Twisting his ring, Sean morphed into the green ranger directly in front of the girl and called on his weapons. The dark angels fought as much as they could until they were destroyed.
Mark still hated that a gun was pointed at him, he crossed his arms as he sat against the tree. The young girl in front of him really didn't trust him and he wished that she would set the gun down.
"Do you mind putting that gun down?" he said. "I don't mind telling you who I am, but I'd feel safer if you put it away," Mark continued. "You don't even know how to use it,"
"First tell me who you are then I'll put the gun down,"
"Fine," says Mark. "My name is Mark Edward Fischbach, I don't mean to alarm you, but I've literally been plucked into this world of yours and I need your help to get out," before the girl could say anything dark angels appeared behind her as his eyes widened. Somehow the dark angels had appeared in the world he was in with help. The girl in front of him seemed confused as she turned around and screamed, she was staring at creatures she had never seen before. Standing from his spot, Mark got in front of the girl in an attempt to protect her.
"Stay back," he said.
"You don't have to tell me twice," says the girl as she stayed behind Mark. "But what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to fight them," responds Mark.
"Are you crazy?!" yelled the girl. "You don't even know what they are!"
"I do, they're dark angels and trust me, that gun will not help you," responds Mark. Before the girl could question anything else, Mark transformed into the red ranger making the girl gasp. Dark angels had also appeared to four other rangers in the different books they were sent to. Each one was not happy with what they were witnessing. But it seemed that no matter where they went, Lucifer knew exactly what was going on and was trying to stop them before they could find their way out. Morphed and ready for a fight, the rangers attacked the dark angels, striking them at all angles and calling on their weapons. Katrina had been in the club when the dark angels attacked her, she fought against them. Tara who had just gotten used to South Carolina found herself protecting the four kids who were hiding in their own bunker. Dean got stuck fighting the dark angels on the roof of the dauntless entrance. Even the fellow dauntless were fighting alongside him.
Sam found himself fighting against the dark angels in the middle of a graveyard where three young children were hiding behind a large headstone. In the real world, it seemed that Colby and Sammy were struggling to save their friends. They were about to lose hope when Bookworm reappeared in Los Angeles park, the alarm in the bunker went off causing Sammy and Colby to jump in fright. Turning their attention to the cameras they saw that Bookworm had reappeared.
"Sammy, this is your only chance, if you destroy that book," says Colby. "Then you'll be able to free the others,"
"Right," agrees Sammy.
"Good luck, while you're out there battling Bookworm," said Colby. "I'm going to try to find another way to free the rangers,"
"Okay," says Sammy. Without another word, he left the bunker and morphed into action. Sammy ran to the park at the same time Bookworm was about to send an innocent civilian into another world. "Thunderlight Saber!" yells Sammy "Strike!" using his weapon, he struck at Bookworm causing her to fly back and hit a tree.
"What the in the blazes!" yells Bookworm as she looked around to see the grey ranger standing just a few feet away from her. "Grey Ranger!" she exclaimed. "I've been waiting for you,"
"And I've been waiting for you," responds Sammy as he pointed his saber at the monster. "Release my brother and my friends and I'll spare your life,"
"Never!" says Bookworm as she stood and attacked the gray ranger. He dodged each attack as she tried to send Sammy into one of the book worlds. Sammy had to look for a way to get his hands on the book and destroy it before he was hit with the beam. "Quit moving!"
"Not happening bookworm!" he says as he kicked Bookworm in the chest, she stumbled back as Sammy kicked the book out of her hand it flew through the air he did a back hand spring and grabbed the book midair.
"No! My book!" she exclaimed.
"This ends now!" throwing the book into the air one more time, Sammy charged his saber and struck downward slicing the book in half.
"NO!" sparks flew around Bookworm as she stumbled back.
"Time for you to go to the firepit!" says Sammy. "Thunderlight Saber, final strike!" Sammy struck Bookworm in the chest as she yelled and fell onto the ground exploding into many pieces. Back at the bunker, Colby was just about to give up when the rangers reappeared in the living room dimorphed. Colby gasped as he approached his friends, Sammy must have freed the rangers and defeated bookworm. "You guys are okay!" says Colby. "I thought we were never going to bring you back,"
"I thought we wouldn't get out of that," says Sam.
"Easy for you to say," says Mark. "At least you didn't have a gun pointed at your head. "Nor did you have a barcode burned into your skin!" agrees Sean.
"Don't forget you did not get stuck in a world with five factions," responds Dean. The doors to the bunker slid open revealing Sammy dimorphed, he walked into the living room to see his friends and brother. Happy that they were back, Sammy raced over to his team and gave them a hug.
