Bella's POV

After Ivan thought he was done exploring the new century, he met up with us the night before so he could see the base. Kendall suggested that we all should get some sleep and rest up for the night. Now, we are here in base the next morning, while Kendall was transmuting the gold energem to make Ptera chargers for Ivan with his gold energem. 

We were all observing Kendall, as she did her thing with Riley and Shelby, who were standing near her and Ivan. Chase was with Koda, were fixing up Ivan's room so he would have a more permanent place to stay. I was leaning back on the lab table opposite from Kendall, next to Tyler who was writing in his journal. Ivan was observing Kendall's advanced equipment in awe. He looked up when Kendall started talking to him. 

"The transmuter will refine the power from your gold energem so I can create dino chargers." Kendall informed Ivan and gave him his energem and the new Ptera chargers back. Koda passed him a string for his energem and showed Ivan how to work it, after he and Chase joined us.

"Now the dino chargers will power your morpher or your gold Ptera saber." Riley informed Ivan, while taking the charger out of his hand gently and loading it to Ivan's Ptera saber.

"Truly magical." Ivan commented, taking his saber from Riley's hands.

"Now over here are the crystal beds, bring your energem." Kendall said, walking over towards the small caverns in the wall. "Riley, Chase and Shelby will show you how they work." Kendall said, calling over the three rangers to her and Ivan. 

I peered over Tyler's shoulder and caught the words 'wish, dad, escaping Fury' and I instantly knew that he was writing about his dad, plus he's been pretty quiet since yesterday, I don't particularly like it. My eye caught a spelling mistake. I put my hands on the edge of the counter and jumped up to boost me up to sit on the lab table next to Tyler.

"You misspelled surprise." I pointed out to Tyler. He reacted quickly and shut his journal as fast as possible.

"Hey!" He said, not expecting me to read his journal over his shoulder. "Not cool, Bella."

"Well... You haven't said much since last night when Ivan arrived which isn't like you." I pointed out to my friend and Koda joined us as well, who picked up Tyler's journal and flipped through the pages.

"We know you hoping for your father." Koda started and Tyler took his journal from Koda's hands.

"But you saw what Ivan can do. He's going to make an already pretty strong team even stronger." I added. "Find energems faster." Koda said, causing Tyler to smile a bit.

"Then, we're all going to help you find out what happened to your dad." I reassured Tyler that our friends will definitely be there for him. Tyler nodded, smiling even wider now.

"You guys are right. Thanks." Tyler thanked us and Koda patted his back and I hopped off of the lab counter just as Tyler got up from his chair. We walked towards the 4 rangers and the scientist, who were still by the caverns. Just as we joined the others, Ivan picked up his energem and turned towards us.

"Well, it has been a thoroughly entertaining afternoon, but perhaps we'll see each other soon." Ivan said and started to leave. We all glanced at each other confused.

"Wait, where are you going? You're part of our team now." Riley pointed out to the knight. This time, Ivan looked at us confused.

"I have not joined your team." Ivan said, as if it was the most obvious thing. "I am a knight of Zandar. When I pledge my loyalty, it is for life. I'm sorry, I cannot make such a decision so hastily." He apologized and turned to leave and went up the elevator back up to the loading dock.

"Wait what? Decision? He doesn't have a choice, he is the gold ranger." Shelby said, facing us seconds after Ivan left. We all shrugged, not knowing what to do. Our alarms went off and we all rushed to the computer and Kendall pulled up the map a fast as possible.

"Alien bio-signs at the boat docks." Kendall informed us while putting up the location on the holographic map.

"We'll have to worry about Ivan later. Let's go." Tyler stated and ran out. The rest of us followed him out after we got our energems and dino chargers. We all morphed on our way to the docks and got into position only to see Curio, Poisandra, vivix and another monster in the group.

"Right on cue. Time to take away their bravery Bones." Poisandra ordered the monsters.

"Don't get your hopes up." Tyler shouted back at her as we all took our stances and got ready for a fight.

"Vivix attack!" Poisandra commanded. We all jumped into battle. I ducked an attack that was directed towards me and punched that vivix in the stomach. It fell back. Another one came to attack me and I grabbed it's hand and did a flip to throw it to the ground as well. I did a backspring to avoid an attack and ended up kicking another one down. I kicked one more as a few more ran towards me. I ducked down and kicked out the legs from underneath a few vivix. They all fell to the ground and I continued my way through them. 

I glanced over to my side and saw Tyler starting to fight Bones. From the side of my vision, I was able to duck an attack from a vivix and I sent a powerful kick to the vivix and sent it towards some of the other vivix. They all fell down, like the domino effect. I sprinted away from them and toward Tyler to aid him off of the ground as Chase continued to Bones. As soon as Chase was kicked back, Riley joined in. "Raptor Slash!" Riley summoned and tried attacking Bones but that only got Riley flying into a few plastics chairs and tables. 

I stood up from the ground and ran towards Bones. He tried landing an attack on me, but using my agility I managed to duck down just in time and get a kick in his torso. I flipped back onto my other foot to send another roundhouse kick at Bones, but he was fast and grabbed my leg. He threw me back and I rolled against the ground and into Tyler.

"Flying Kick!" Shelby tried to attack Bones, but she was soon taken down by the monster as well. Koda went up against Bones, but Bones was able to match his strength and throw Koda back. We all tried recollecting ourselves to attack Bones once more and attempt to take him down.

"Skeletons are so in right now." Poisandra made a snarky comment.

"Time to lose some backbones!" Bones claimed and started making his way towards us. Suddenly, a gold and blue sword flew in and landed in between us and Bones.

"It's Ivan!" Tyler exclaimed as the lightning generated from the sword and attacked the three monsters in front of us. Ivan's gold suit jumped over us and started attacking Bones with rapid blasts. The monsters screamed in pain and shock from the sudden ranger appearing to battle them.

"Hey! I'm the hot shot!" Chase said, slightly jealous from the accuracy that Ivan was shooting at the monsters. Ivan swivelled on his foot to send a powerful kick to Bone's torso. Bones stumbled back and I knew that had to be one powerful kick.

"Nice!" Shelby commented from next to me.

"Ptera saber!" Ivan summoned the attack. He skillfully slashed Bones 3 times, causing him to stumble back into Poisandra.

"Whoa!" Riley said in awe.

"You better watch your backs!" Poisandra sneered and they teleported out.

"Good riddance." Ivan said and we all got up off of the ground. We demorphed and recollected ourselves.

"You guys okay?" I asked everyone, knowing that we were all thrown around a bit by Bones before Ivan showed up. Everyone nodded. "You?" Tyler asked, I nodded to confirm that I was okay.

"Ivan's got to join us. I'm going to go talk to him." Shelby said, while looking at the spot where Ivan disappeared to.

"Wait, I'm coming with you. Maybe we'll both be able to convince him to join our team." I added and followed Shelby to where Ivan retreated moments ago. We ran down the block and found Ivan's silhouette easily, it was hard to miss the knight who was getting strange looks from people and the way he walked briskly and stiffly down the street. "Wait, Ivan!" I shouted, once Shelby and I got an earshot away. Ivan stopped walking and looked back at the two of us. We both slowed down to a walk as we approached Ivan.

"What's with you? You're a..." I started and lowered my voice. "Power ranger now." "There are responsibilities that come with that." Shelby told Ivan, trying to level with him.

"Indeed. I am a ranger, but I am also a knight. I cannot join your band unless they prove their worth." Ivan replied.

"Proof?" Shelby asked, a little bit in disbelief. "If it wasn't for us, you would still be stuck inside of Fury." She pointed out to Ivan.

"If that isn't proof, then we don't know what is."  she said and we both turned around and walked away from Ivan and back towards the others.

"My lady." Ivan stopped us and we both stopped walking and faced Ivan. He approached us. "You make a valid point, perhaps I should reconsider." Shelby and I smiled at each other then at Ivan. "Lead me to your friends." Ivan told us. Shelby grinned and took his outstretched hand and yanked him back in the direction of our friends. We got to the docks and walked against the wind. The wind blew my hair backwards, causing it to become more tangled. I didn't do anything about it, there's no point when I know we are going to go fight a monster while Bones is still out there on Earth.

"You won't be disappointed, they are brave like any knight of Zandar." Shelby boasted about our friends then I stopped as I felt something. "Usually they are but I feel like something is happening to them." I said as we went to find out. We rounded the corner, only to see Bones, Posionarda and Curio approaching the others, who were huddled against one another and quivering in fear. My eyes widened as Bones approached Tyler and was about to attack him while Curio approached the others, mocking them. I acted quickly, walking away from Shelby and Ivan, I pulled my dino morpher blaster out. I've learned well from Chase and I shot Bones, causing him to scramble back from the sudden attack of my yellow lasters.

"Get away from him!" I shouted at him as I walked furiously towards him.

"What have you done to them?" Shelby asked Curio, just as angry. Curio backed away from Shelby, frightened from her anger. "This isn't normal." Shelby informed Ivan as I kept my dino morpher blaster in hand, just in case.

"It's the gold ranger, we can't risk losing again." Posionandra told Bones as she saw who Shelby was talking to.

"You're right, let's get out of here." Bones said and the three of them ran away from us.

"Brave as a knight of Zandar, mmhmm." Ivan commented sarcastically. "At least take some time to think about it. Ok?" I asked. Ivan nodded and and walked away from us. Shelby tries to stop him, but I know that it's useless with what Ivan just witnessed.

"I'll bring Tyler's jeep around, get them to calm down and find out what happened. This is definitely not normal." Shelby instructed me and I nodded and put my dino morpher blaster away. I turned towards the others and approached them slowly.

"Are you guys okay?" I asked in the most calming voice I could manage, not wanting to frighten them even more. They all merely nodded. I managed to get some words out of them and pieced it together to figure out that Bones has the ability to take away anyone's bravery and courage. This is going to be a tough monster to defeat if he can take away our bravery and courage. Shelby got Tyler's jeep and we managed to get the boys into the car and we headed towards the museum and Shelby pulled the jeep to a stop once we got to the loading dock. Once we got them out of the jeep, we crowded around the hidden elevator and I lifted a rock up to push the button to take us all down to base quickly. After a few minutes of the elevator not coming up, Shelby called Kendall.

"Miss Morgan, why isn't the elevator coming up?" Shelby asked her.

"We can't really take the slide down because Bones did something to the boys and made them really scared." I informed her as well, walking into the calling frame.

"Well, the elevator has some glitches so I'm working on fixing them. But you two are going to have to force the boys down the slide so we can track Ivan and Bones." Kendall told us. I sighed and we motioned the boys to the T-Rex head after Kendall hung up the call. Shelby and I dragged Koda up the crates and towards the base entrance. Koda was trying his best to resist us. I tickled his side and Koda stopped resisting us and started laughing. Shelby pushed him into the T-Rex head and I twisted the tooth and Koda went down the slide into base.

"Koda!" Chase exclaimed fearfully. Shelby and I let out exasperated sighs and hopped down the crates.

"Come on Chase, you're next." Shelby said to the black ranger. Chase scrambled off of the crates and Tyler carried him off of the crates and set Chase on his feet, away from us.

"No way!" Chase shouted and hid behind Tyler and Riley.

"There's a girl waiting for you downstairs." I half lied to Chase. Kendall was waiting for Shelby and I to get everyone downstairs as she frantically worked on fixing the elevator, so there technically was a girl waiting for him downstairs.

"Really?" Chase asked, making it easier to grab his arm and pull him up the crates. "No wait, talking to girls is scary!" I let out an exasperated sigh and Shelby shoved him into the entrance of the base. I glanced over at Riley and Tyler, who were about to run away.

"No way. You both aren't going anywhere." I said, grabbing Riley's arm and Tyler's shirt sleeve just in time. I pushed Riley up the crates by pushing my body weight on his back, forcing him up. Shelby pulled Riley up off of me and into the base and helped me get Tyler down to base as well. We both sighed and went down to join the others.

"Please tell me that you got the elevator fixed." Shelby begged Kendall.

"Just as you both got down here." Kendall informed us. "It's up and running again."

"Thank god." Shelby muttered. We both walked towards Kendall in the middle of the lab and the 3D map of the city popped up on the circular table.

"Have you tracked Ivan yet?" I asked.

"No, not yet." Kendall answered and the three of us started working to try and track Ivan. "If Sledge's monsters attack now, you two are going to have to fight with the boys whether they're ready or not." I groaned and collapsed into a chair. I leaned back in the chair

"I doubt they're gonna be much help." Shelby commented and suddenly there was a sharp scream that echoed in the base. I sat straighter in my chair and saw Koda ran out of his cave.

"Mouse!" He shouted fearful of the small animal.

"Where!" The other boys echoed, equally as scared from the small white animal that decided to scramble onto a rock near the entrance of Koda's cave. "There it is!" Tyler shouted, pointing out it's location. The boys screamed and scrambled on top of something to keep them away from the mouse. I sighed and stood up from the chair.

"Alright, I'm going to have some fun with this while Kendall continues to track Ivan." I said, and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I tossed it at Shelby and she caught it. "Record it please." I told her and she nodded, smiling at my evil plan. I grab a small bit of food and walk towards the small mouse. I lay the food on the palm of my hand and bent down in front of the mouse, offering it to her. The mouse scrambled onto my hand after eating the small amount of food on my hand. I smile and stand up slowly. "She's not that bad, guys." I told the boys. I walked towards them steadily. The boys kept screaming quietly as I walked closer with the small mammal in my hands. "Come on guys. You can't be scared of an itty bitty mouse." I said as they all scrambled behind Tyler.

"Bella. Please don't come near me with that." Tyler squeaked in fear. I felt an ounce of guilt from the face he gave me. I glanced over at Shelby and she motioned to me that I could go release the mouse outside.

"Okay." I told Tyler and I back away from the boys and head upstairs. Once I was back up at the loading dock, I let the mouse go and she scrambled off. I climbed up the crates and slid back into base, after making sure that the coast was clear. As soon as I get down there, the alarms go off.

"That doesn't sound good." Shelby commented and the three of us rushed to the 3D holographic map.

"Bones is back, and he's got company." Kendall informed us, as she pulled up his location. I push a couple buttons to find a trace of Ivan's Dino com.

"There's Ivan." I said, when I got a trace of his Dino com signal.

"He's heading straight towards Bones..." Kendall says, when she realizes where he is heading. Shelby and I glance at each other then back at Kendall.

"We've got to help him." Shelby said and I nodded, agreeing.

"We're gonna need to take the bikes to get there in time." I told Kendall and she nodded. She grabbed two dino cycle chargers and handed them to us. Shelby and I went up to the loading dock. Once we were out of the public eye, we both morphed and summoned the dino cycles. We climb on and race towards Ivan's location with our dino coms leading the way. Once we were near the meadow, I realized that we're going to have to jump off of the mini cliff thing to get to the meadow below. "We're gonna have to jump." I told Shelby.

"You think I can do this?" Shelby asked, referring to jumping the bike off of an upcoming cliff.

"Sure you can." I encouraged her. "Just don't let go of the handles till you hit the ground."

"Time for you to lose your backbone!" We heard Bones shout at Ivan and we both sped up to get down to the meadow faster to help aid our friend.

"Think again!" Shelby shouted just as we both jumped off of the edge. Vivix jumped upwards towards us to attack us from the side, but we both reacted quickly. We let go of the grip that our legs had on the bike and kicked the vivix back with force that when it fell back down to the ground, it knocked into some other vivix.

"Energize! Dino morpher blast!" Shelby and I summoned our attack and we both shoot at the vivix on the ground just as we land. Shelby splits her bike to continue to attack the vivix with lasers, I pull my weight back and cause the back to do a wheelie. The front wheel of the bike that is in the air, destroyed the vivix before I land back down in a normal position. I jump off of the bike to go confront Bones.

"Back off Bonehead!" I shout and do a backflip to flip Bones over my head to an awaiting Shelby, who punches him. What we didn't know was that Ivan was watching the two of us with admiration, with our courage to help him out of this situation.

"Get rid of that pink and yellow nunsense." Poisandra ordered Bones. Unexpectedly, Bones attack the two of us with a very strong attack and Shelby and I are thrown back. We both hit the ground and roll a bit, causing us to demorph out of battle mode.

"Shelby! Bella!" Ivan shouted as he was helpless and unable to escape from the vivix whom were holding him back. I groan in pain. "I'll deal with the pink and yellow rangers later. Right now, your courage is mine!" Bones and approached Ivan. I struggled back into a sitting position to try and help Ivan out of this situation.

"Not so fast!" I hear Tyler's voice. My head whips around to see the boys running in our direction. Tyler jumped up over me and kicked Bones in the back. Bones went flying to the ground. "You forgot about us, you bag of bones." Tyler commented and the others came jumping in. Koda and Chase took down the vivix that were holding Ivan. Shelby was helped up by Riley and Tyler rushed back to aid me up off of the ground. I twisted my back, causing it to pop and I felt better.

I smiled to myself. "What? They're gone, you've regained your bravery." Bones shouted, angry at how this could be possible.

"We've lost ours!" Poisandra shouts and she and Curio run off to a pod to go back to Sledge's ship.

"Thank you rangers, perhaps I shouldn't have doubted your courage." Ivan said as he regained his posture in the middle of all of us.

"No worries mate." Chase told him, reassuring him that we have his back.

"Now, it is morphing time." Ivan led us. "Dino charger!"

"Ready!" We all shouted and pushed the buttons on our Dino chargers to activate them. "Energize, unleash the power!" The dinosaur heads encased our bodies and we all morphed. "Dinosaur might, ready to fight!" We take our final stances and run into battle. I punched a vivix and ducked another one's attack to make my way towards Bones.

"Vivix like eggs, easy to smash" Koda commented. I ducked a laser attack from a vivix and the laser hit another one, causing the second one to disintegrate. I knocked the first vivix off of its feet.

"And even easier to slash!" Riley added. I broke away from the fight with the vivix to aid Ivan in his battle against Bones, and Shelby joined me. Ivan slashed Bones with his Ptera saber, causing the monster to roll away from him.

"Alright!" I cheered Ivan on.

"So, it looks like you've found your knights." Shelby commented, once we were by his side.

"Indeed. Thanks to the both of you." Ivan thanked us. "Try these." Ivan said and handed both of us a gold Ptera charger. We took them from his hands.

"You should try ours as well." I told Ivan and handed him a yellow Brachi charger and Shelby gave him a pink Tricera charger. Shelby and I loaded the Ptera chargers into our Dino morpher and Ivan loaded the Tricera charger and the Brachi charger into his Ptera saber.

Dino chargers Engaged

"Energize!" The three of us said together, getting ready to attack.

"Dino morpher final blast!" Shelby and I both said together. The combined attack hit Bones.

"Ptera saber final strike!" Ivan attacked right after us. Bones falls and blows up from the combined powers of the attacks. "Now that's knight worthy!" Shelby said as we turned away from the explosion behind us. A blue magna-beam rains down from the sky and to the spot where Bones previously was. Bones grows into Mega-Bones.

"Summon Ptera zord." Ivan starts and summons his zord on instinct. The Ptera zord transforms into the Ptera charge megazord.

"Summon zords!" Koda, Tyler and Shelby say and summon our prime megazord. We all transport to the cockpit of our megazord.

"Dino drive mode activate." We all said, activating our Dino drive. "Summon Stego saber." We took our stances ready to fight.

"Power rangers..." Ivan started.

"Together." Tyler finished.

"I'll break your bones!" Bones threatened us. Ivan attacked first by slashing Bones first.

"Like this?" Ivan questioned, mockingly.

"Stego slash!" Koda summoned the attack, to block the one that Bones launched at us. The force of the attack pushed us back, but opened up a spot for Ivan to fly down.

"Follow me, rangers." Ivan told us in our common link after calling us. We quickly agreed. He gets in the lead and flies in front of us and towards Bones. "Ptera lightning slash!" Bones shouts in agony as he can't protect himself. The Ptera charge megazord turns into a zord and attacks bones with lighting to give us an opening.

"Combine our forces!" Tyler instructed us.

"Stego saber, final slash!" We summoned, spinning our own sabers around us and striking Bones and destroying him once more.

"Monster vanquished" Ivan claimed our victory after Bone exploded.

Back at the Dino Bite Cafe

We were all gathered around a table, urging Ivan to tell us how he bonded to the gold energem, as we all told him short versions of ours. He finally agreed. "I was riding with the young prince. It was a day like so many before and a day like none that would follow." Ivan started to tell the story. "When the prince became thirsty, we stopped beside a creek for a drink. There it was, glistening in the water, the gold energem." Ivan paused for dramatic effect. "Then that's when Fury attacked us. My instincts took over and I pushed the prince aside to protect him and I drew my sword to block an attack from the monster. I was able to keep the monster upon me to keep the young prince safe. When he blasted us with his lightning, the energem was knocked free the powerful beast revealed himself to be Fury. I was certain he was destroy me." We were all on the edge of our seats, waiting to hear what happened next. "The energem sent a bolt of power up Fury's sword and across mine, bonding me with the spirit of the pterodactyl. That's when Fury became angry and sucked me into his body with his power. I struggled, I struggled mightily and he dragged me into his dark and evil body. The energem fell into the creek where I thought it was lost forever. But luckily, it was found by-" Ivan cut himself off. "Oh what is that?" As a waitress placed a burger in front of Ivan.

"Bronto burger." Koda answered and showed Ivan how to eat it. Ivan took a big bite out of it and enjoyed the food from this century. "You want get fires?" Koda asked. Ivan nodded and they both stood from their seats to head to the window to order more food.

"Wait!" I stopped them, before they could go far.

"How does it end?" Tyler asked the question that is on all of our minds.

"Oh you know, 800 years of darkness then you save me and here I am." Ivan answered quickly. I slump in my chair and dropped my head on Tyler's shoulder because of the bland ending to the story Ivan was great at telling. "Oh, and as I said, a knight's loyalty is forever, I'm honored to be a part of your team." Ivan told us and we all perked up.

This is going to be an adventure.

"Mom, what's all that wood and tools for?" I caught her attention, pointing at the pile of wood planks and power tools. Sarah's posture became rigid, and she bit her lip nervously.

"Oh, just a project we're having the guys work on. Don't you worry about it. Actually, why don't you take the day off, sweetie? Go have fun." She encouraged. Okay, now I was really suspicious. What was she hiding from me?

"Mom, just tell me what it is." Normally, I wouldn't take such a demanding tone, but I'd had a tough night. I really didn't want to do any of this walking around each other with words bullshit. She straightened, brushing off her clothes and giving me a stern look.

"Don't take that tone-"

"You're not my real mom," I cut her off, crossing my arms and scowling at her openly.

"Young lady!-"

"Fine. I'll just stick around till I find out." I gave her a dead serious look. Sarah seemed to realize she wasn't going to win this argument, and she sighed loudly.

"That vampire in the basement? We're building the cross he's gonna burn on. Steve is having the recruits work on it today." My whole world froze. The earth might've very well stopped spinning. Godric. They were going to burn Godric. I'd known that, but, it was real now. This was really happening. Sarah stared at me, and I visibly tried to compose myself.

"I thought that was two weeks away? Why build it now?" I asked.

"Steve is worried other vampires will come looking for him soon enough, so we're holding the lock in on saturday, and burning the vampire on sunday morning. It'll be quite the sight." Sarah seemed...excited. Excited, while I felt like I was going to throw up. Actually, I was for sure going to throw up. I placed a hand over my mouth and clutched at my stomach, gagging and hunching over.

I frozen suddenly, all sickness vanishing as resolve took its place. I had to stop it. We had to have more time together. It wasn't right. I stood up straight, facing Sarah with a steely resolve. "God would be disappointed in you." My words were meant to cut deep, and I could see that they did. Her face went slack, her eyes widening in disbelief.

"W-what?" It was the first I'd seen Sarah become unhinged. She started to tremble, and I almost felt bad for saying it. Almost.

"God doesn't hate, Sarah. God loves. Vampires may be 'unnatural' but then, so are we. We ruin the natural balance of ecosystems, we've started global warming, and we tore a literal hole in our atmosphere. Vampires kill humans, but so do humans! We don't get to decide whose existence is wrong. That's not humility, that's not compassion, and it's not love-all of the things Jesus taught. So yeah, God would be disappointed in you, and so am I." I ran off after that, Steve calls out from behind me. I stop and turn, pursing my lips as I face him. He's in one of his suits, his chipmunk smile set perfectly in place. Gabe walks beside him, looking as grim and mean as ever.

"You're supposed to be out watching the training, Bella." He spoke like he wasn't angry with me at all, but I could see the glint of fury in his eyes. Steve was normally so calm and composed around others, but that didn't apply to me. "Go back to the training, slave." Gabe said. I was done, with him and Sarah, and this entire church. This wasn't a place of worship, this was a place of hate, and I wouldn't let them kill Godric for their own means. I refused to allow it.
