After getting to the Command Center, Alpha-5 scanned Ryan’s vitals. "Seriously, I'm fine." Ryan tried to assure everyone. Rebecca shook her head in response. "Deker obviously affected you in some way," She  stated. "Why was he only after you anyway?" She questioned. Ryan shrugged. "I'm the Samurai Ranger now," He replied. "Nighlok have always been at war with them." He explained.

Alpha-5 finished the scan and looked at the results. "That's odd," He stated. Tommy turned to Alpha and walked over. "What is it?" He questioned. "It seems that Deker partly drained Ryan of his energy." Alpha explained. Rebecca looked at Ryan, noticing he still looked bad. "If it's just his energy," She questioned. "Shouldn't he have some of it back by now?" She asked. Tommy shook his head as he looked at the results. "That's the weird part," He replied. "Instead of regaining his energy, he's actually getting worse." He explained. "Worse how?" Rebecca asked. Tommy showed her the results. "Basically instead of just fighting off the effects," He explained as Rebecca looked at the results. "Ryan’s cells are deconstructing at a rate that could kill him." He warned.

"Okay we need to get Ryan to a hospital," Rebecca commented. She began to inform Ryan to find that he was gone. "Uh guys," She said in alarm. "Where'd he go?" She questioned. Jen and Zeke walked in at that same moment. "We'll find him," Jen replied. "You guys see if we can get anything about Deker." She added. Rebecca agreed, allowing Jen and Zeke to track down Ryan.

Meanwhile, back in the city, Ryan was walking around as he felt himself weakening. "Ryan, what happened to you?" A voice questioned him. Ryan looked to see Meka coming towards him with a worried expression. "Deker, how is he still alive?" He asked in response. Meka looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean," She questioned. "Deker was struck down years ago." She stated. "Yeah well, he seemed pretty alive to me." Ryan said as he struggled to keep his balance. Meka knelt down and helped him to his feet. "We need to get you to the Sanzu River." She claimed. Ryan agreed, but a group of Nighlok surrounded them.

Ryan looked around, he knew that they were after Meka. "You need to go," He stated. "I'll hold them off." He added. Before Meka could respond, Ryan had already morphed into his ranger suit and began fighting. Meka shook her head before transforming into her Nighlok form and joining him. "What are you  doing?!" Ryan exclaimed. "Once Xandred finds out you let me go he'd kill you too," She stated. "You're  better off with me and the others." She added. Ryan was frustrated but knew Meka was right, now they'd both have a target on their backs.

In another area of the city, Jen and Zeke were searching for Ryan. "How far could he get?" Zeke asked. Jen looked around. "From what Tommy said," She replied. "We'll be lucky if he's not dead when we do find him." She added. Just then, three other forms of creatures surrounded them. The Morlocks, Lava Lizards, and Chillers had revealed themselves. Jen and Zeke both immediately morphed and began fighting off the intruders.

As all of this was going on, Rebecca and Tommy were trying to figure out how to help Ryan. They had run different diagnostics for ways to treat him, to no avail for success. Tommy then noticed something with one of the scans. "Wait a minute," He said. "Rebecca, come check this out." He spoke. Rebecca walked over to see what he had found. "You found a cure?" She questioned with a hopeful tone. "No, but I did find something." Tommy responded.

Tommy then pulled up two separate DNA images. "This first image is how DNA typically looks on a regular scan, showing us the plausible resources that could be used to cure someone," He explained. "The other one though, that's Ryan’s." He stated. Rebecca looked at the scan and agreed it looked off. "None of our options are resulting in anything because he's not human," She added. Tommy hesitated before stating anything else. "Some of his DNA is human," He assured Rebecca. "However, he does seem to be some kind of cross-species." He explained. "Which could be why the Nighlok were chasing him when we first got here,"  Rebecca commented. "What do we know about Deker?"

Alpha-5 explained that Deker was once a human/Nighlok hybrid who served under Serrator as part of a curse placed upon him. After some time, he himself turned on Serrator and nearly killed him. He was struck down by one of the Samurai Rangers some time afterwards. "Wait, Deker was a hybrid too," Rebecca asked. "That can't be a coincidence." She stated as she looked to Tommy. The two of them had seen Deker only go after Ryan when they had fought. "If that's true," Tommy said. "You’re saying he may have known this all along?" He questioned.

Both Ryan and Meka continued fighting the Nighlok until they were all defeated. Ryan demorphed and fell to the ground panting. Meka remained in her Nighlok form as she knelt towards him. "Ryan, you okay?" She questioned, worriedly. Ryan suddenly passed out as he was nearly drained completely of his energy. "You're gonna be okay." Meka assured Ryan as she picked him up. She nearly made it to a nearby crack in the wall before seeing Jen and Zeke in their ranger uniforms. She knew how thus would look, but there was no other way to save Ryan. "Ryan!" Zeke shouted as he and Jen watched Meka vanish into the glowing red crack in the wall. Both her and Ryan were gone and had entered the Netherworld.

"What are we going to do?" Zeke asked in panic. Jen looked around and thought about their next move. "We need to get back and tell the others." She responded. "Okay right, yeah." Zeke replied. The two of them teleported back to the Command Center and demorphed before looking for the others. "Ryan’s gone, a Nighlok took him somewhere." Jen stated. Rebecca looked at them. "Was it Deker?" She questioned. Jen shook her head explaining it was something else. "The Nighlok have been after him this entire time," She stated, leaving everyone lost in thought. "What is their deal with him?" She questioned. Rebecca became silent as she thought about what Tommy had said before, afraid that she might have an idea. "Whatever it is," She replied. "We need to get Ryan back."
