Whenever a hero was called to save the world from a tyrant, they were always considered to be powerful and with talents that could help them succeed. The hero had to be, or they would lose the battle between good and evil.

They also never had a choice.

But I could not relate to any of that. I was not powerful, nor did I have any talents that would help me and I had a choice. Maybe I chose wrong, but I like to think that I did not.

I chose to save someone who shouldn't have been sent off to the execution block, and in doing so, I sealed my own fate. 

Maybe that was how I was similar to the heroes of old.
