Day One
Night - Occult Shop
The time was 11:55.
Parker and Poppy were shopping.
Parker was wearing a Native American hat that had feathers and beads. She was wearing a large red beads.
Poppy was picking out a necklace with a good luck charm.
The owner, Tanjella, was standing behind the counter. "Excuse me, but I'm getting ready to close now."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Poppy told her. "I thought that you were open until 1:00."
"Normally I am, but not on the eve of Friday the 13th," Tanjella told them. "In fact, I kinda wanna be closed by midnight."
"All right, well, we won't be much longer will we, Parker?" Poppy asked.
Parker walked closer. "No, Poppy, we won't. Just give me your input. What do you think?"
"Those are ancient artifacts," Poppy told her.
"Whatever," Parker told her. "What are you getting?"
Poppy held up the necklace. "Lucky charm. Come on."
They walked up to the counter.
Parker took off the hat and the beads off, placing them on the counter.
Poppy placed the necklace onto the counter.
"Okay, you want me to put this on your sister's order?" Tanjella asked.
"Yeah," Poppy answered.
"Well, your sister won't be so irritated with you two using her tab again, because you get 10% if you sign the mailing list," Tanjella told them.
Poppy picked up her necklace and a pen, looking at Parker, smiling. "See? Good luck already." She looked at the list. "Hey, Parker, Lucia's name is on here."
Parker had to look for herself. "Really? Lucia?"
"Yes," Tanjella answered. "Lucia Alizon was one of my best customers. Go ahead and sign."
Poppy wrote down her name.
Poppy Halliwell
Tanjella put the hat and the beads into a large bag. "If you're interested, we're having a wicca gathering for the Summer Equinox."
Tanjella handed them the flyer with the address.
"What makes you think that we would be interested?" Parker asked.
"Most witches are," Tanjella told them.
Poppy and Parker exchanged a look, looking at Tanjella.
"We never said that we were witches," Parker told her.
Tanjella turned to get the receipt.
Poppy and Parker looked at each other, whispering.
"You think she knows?" Poppy asked.
Parker shook her head. "How could she?"
Tanjella turned back, with the bag.
Parker took it, putting the flyer into it.
The clock stroke twelve.
Poppy continued to write.
"Could you please hurry?" Tanjella asked.
"Is there a problem?" Poppy asked.
"I told you, I just, I want to be closed by midnight," Tanjella told them.
"Wow, you really take this Friday the 13th stuff seriously," Parker told her.
"Yeah, you should, too," Tanjella told them. "Especially this one."
"And why is that?" Poppy asked.
"Because once every 1,300 years, there's a universal convergence of negative energy on Friday the 13th and this is the year," Tanjella answered.
Parker nodded. "Of course it is."
Poppy finished writing Parker's name.
Parker Halliwell
There was a thirteenth toll from the clock instead of only twelve.
"Did you hear that?" Tanjella asked. "The clock struck 13. It's starting already."
"Good night, Tanjella," Poppy told her, putting the necklace around her neck.
Parker picked up the bag.
Poppy and Parker walked out, leaving, not knowing that that was the last time they were ever see her.

Poppy and Parker got into a car, driving off. Smoke rose out of the sewer, and Barbas appeared, watching Poppy and Parker drive away.

Inside
Tanjella was blowing out the candles. She turned off the light. Barbas knocked on the door.
"Sorry, we're closed," Tanjella called. Barbas knocked again. "I said, we're closed."
Barbas walked through the door like a ghost. "Not to me, witch."
"Oh, my God," Tanjella said, picking up an amulet.
"Amulets don't work with this demon," Barbas mocked. He passed his hand in front of her face. "Your greatest fear is being buried alive in an earthquake." The room started to shake, and things fell from the shelves. Tanjella screamed as shelves fell down around here. "Yes. You can't run, you're frozen in fear."
Tanjella stopped screaming, falling to the floor, dead, and her hair had turned white. Barbas walked over to the mailing list, passing his hand above it, and half of the names disappeared. Barbas left with Tanjella dead on the floor in terror.

Halliwell Manor - Conservatory
Piper was sitting on the sofa, going through a box, pulling out some necklaces, looking at them, trying to choose one.
(Song Ends)
Phoebe, Parker and Poppy walked in.
"Think about it," Parker told them. "When has she ever said it to you?"
"I don't remember, exactly, but I'm sure she must have," Phoebe told them.
"Yeah?" Parker asked. "Okay, try to think of a time, just one. Whenever I say it to her, she says something like, 'Oh, me, too', or 'same here'."
"You know, you're right," Poppy told her.
Piper looked up in confusion. "What are you guys talking about.
"About the fact that Prue cannot say the words 'I love you'," Poppy answered. "It's like some weird..."
Prue walked in. "Morning."
"Oh, good morning," Phoebe told her.
Poppy and Phoebe sat down.
Prue looked at Poppy. "Oh, that outfit looks great on you."
Poppy smiled. "Thank you for giving it to me." She showed them the necklace she had gotten the night before. "Looks great with my new good luck charm."
Parker looked at Prue in surprise. "Wait, you gave her that outfit?"
"Yeah," Prue answered.
Parker put a hand to Prue's head. "Are you feeling okay?"
Prue chuckled. "I am fine. In fact, I had a wonderful dream about Mom."
"Oh, how great," Piper told her. "What about?"
"Um, I was a little kid, like four or five, and I was reaching up, holding her hand, and she was taking me some place," Prue answered. "I don't know where, but it felt so safe."
"I wish I had dreams like that," Phoebe told them.
"Mom would have to knock before she came into your dreams," Parker told her.
Poppy smiled.
Phoebe pointed at Parker teasingly. "Ooh!"
"Oh, speaking of Mom, you remember her old best friend?" Parker asked.
"Yeah, how can we forget?" Prue asked. "Lucia Alizon's mom. Lucia's aunt was best friends with Grams before she died. Lucia's mom was best friends with our mom before they both died."
"We haven't really spoken to Lucia in a long time, though," Phoebe told them. "Damn. Lucia was always fun to hang around. Alizons are, period. In fact, I think Parker and Poppy are the same age as Lucia?"
"Yeah," Poppy answered. She yawned. Piper covered her mouth. Poppy pushed her hand away. "What are you doing?"
"You have to cover you mouth when you yawn, or you might let the devil in," Piper told them. Parker and Prue laughed. "Especially on Friday the 13th."
Poppy looked at the amulet Piper was holding. "Is that amulet one of the things we picked up for you last night?"
"Yes," Piper answered. "And this." She picked up a stone from her lap, showing them. "And this." She picked up the other necklaces, amulets, from her lap, showing them. "And these. We're having a superstition theme fundraiser at the restaurant today. I'm going to need all the help I can get."
"Don't you think that you're over doing it just a little bit?" Prue asked.
"With all the warlocks and demons we've seen, I don't think so," Piper answered.
"Piper, those things are real," Phoebe told her. "Okay, superstitions are like old wives tales invented to explain somebody's misfortune."
"Statistics show more bad things happen on Friday the 13th than any other day," Piper told them.
Parker shrugged. "I met Jeremy on Friday the 13th."
"Really?" Phoebe asked.
"Yeah," Parker answered.
"And he tried to kill all of us," Piper told them. "Afterwards, I find out there's a superstition that any relationship started on Friday the 13th is doomed."
"More bad things happen on Friday the 13th because people put energy in believing bad things will happen," Prue told them.
"Actually, I prefer the upside of superstition," Phoebe told them. "Good fortune, is is what I hope my job interview with the real estate agency brings me." She looked at Piper and Prue. "Will you give me a lift? I'm running late."
"Okay," Prue told them.
Piper, Phoebe and Parker turned toward the door.
"Okay, well, have a great day, guys," Parker told them. "Phoebe, Piper, and Prue, I love you."
"Yeah, me, too," Prue told them, walking out of the room.
The other four sisters exchanged a look as if this confirmed their earlier point.
Phoebe and Piper followed Prue out of the room.
Poppy looked at Parker. "I wonder if she knows she does that."
Parker shrugged.

Foyer
Phoebe, Piper and Prue walked toward the door.
Prue opened the door, revealing that Andy was outside and about to knock. "Hey, Andy."
"Hi, Prue," Andy told her. "Are Poppy and Parker in?"
Piper called out. "Parker, Poppy, there's a policeman here to see you."
"See you later, Andy," Phoebe told him. "We're running late."
Piper and Phoebe walked out, leaving.
Andy walked in.
Prue looked concerned. "Is there a reason why you want to talk to Poppy and Parker?"
"They're not in trouble, trust me," Andy told her. "I just want to ask them a few questions. If you're running late, too, then you should go, too."
Parker and Poppy walked into the foyer, walking toward them.
"It's okay, Prue," Poppy told her. "Go."
Prue hesitated, walking out, leaving.
Parker looked at Andy. "This must be bad news."
"You're right," Andy told them. "We've had three suspicious deaths since midnight. All single females, all under 30. One was an occult bookstore owner. Her log records show you two were her last customers."
Poppy was in shock. "Oh, my God."
"You remember anything out of the ordinary?" Andy asked. "Suspicious characters hanging around?"
"No," Parker answered. "We were the only ones in there. In fact, she was locking up when we left."
"Was the place in order?" Andy asked.
"Yeah," Parker answered. "Why?"
"When we found her, her body was half buried in debris," Andy answered. "But the coroner said it wasn't her injuries that killed her. It was a heart attack."
"A heart attack?" Poppy repeated.
"Yeah," Andy answered. "Her hair had turned chalk white. Her face was contorted in terror just like all the others. If I didn't know any better, I'd say literally scared to death. Do you two visit occult book stores at midnight often?"
"No, of course not," Poppy answered. "Piper has a superstition-themed thing going on at Quake today, and she needed some amulets and a stone for decoration, and Phoebe needed a good luck charm for her job interview today. It was very last minute."
"His killings look like some weird ritualistic thing," Andy told them. "The victims all had ties with the occult."
"Meaning?" Parker asked.
"Just be careful," Andy told them, walking out, leaving.
Poppy closed the door behind him, turning to face Parker.
Parker and Poppy were confused, but knowing something was up more than what the police could handle, walked upstairs.

Attic
Parker and Poppy walked upstairs into the attic, going through the Book of Shadows.
Parker looked from page to page. "Friday the 13th. Friday the 13th." She found a page. "'The Demon of Fear appears once every 1,300 years on Friday the 13th. He feeds on the fears of young witches for his survival'."
"It's just like Tanjella said last night," Poppy told her.
Parker looked from the book to Poppy. "It's in Mom's handwriting."
Poppy looked at her in confusion. She walked closer to stand next to Parker.
They both looked at the entry in the Book of Shadows from their mother.

(Song:) Enchanted - Chasing Furies
Parker and Poppy went to tell Piper about what they had found at Quake.
Piper was looking at a man.
"Who's the guy?" Poppy asked.
Piper jumped, turning to face them. "Lucas Devane. He's chairing the fundraiser for the children's hospital."
"Oh, right," Poppy told them. "I saw his picture in the magazine. Wasn't he named the Bay Area's most eligible bachelor?"
"Don't rub it in," Piper told her.
"Hey, you're the one who's letting a silly superstition run her life," Poppy told her.
"Is he still looking over here?" Piper asked.
"Yeah," Parker answered. She looked at Piper teasingly. "He's undressing you with his mind. And he's down to white cotton."
They started to walk.
"I haven't worn white cotton since high school," Piper told them. They approached a ladder. "Whoa." Piper pulled the twins around the ladder, continuing to walk. "Humor me. Sorry, I had to rush off the phone. What's with the Demon of Fear?"
"Well, we found a page about him in the Book of Shadows in Mom's handwriting," Parker told her.
"Mom's?" Piper repeated. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, we're sure," Parker answered. "We checked it against the handwriting on the back of the spirit board."
They sat down at a table.
"Wow," Piper told them. "This is the first time we've found anything Mom's written in the Book."
"Well, she must have known that this demon would appear in our lifetime, and she wanted to warn us against him," Poppy told them.
"I don't like the sound of that," Piper told them.
"Well, if he can kill 13 unmarried witches by midnight, he'll be free from the Underworld to wreck his terror every single day," Poppy told her.
Parker sighed. "Unmarried. Like being single doesn't have enough problems."
"So how can we stop him?" Piper asked.
"We don't know, but he does kill by turning a witch's greatest fear against her," Parker told her.
"Meaning?" Piper asked.
"The Book doesn't say," Parker told her. "But Mom wrote that in the face of our greatest fear, our powers are paralyzed."
"Wait a minute," Piper told them. "We're on the most wanted list, and we're defenseless? Didn't Mom say anything about how to get rid of him?"
"Just to release our fear," Parker answered.
"How do we do that?" Piper asked.
"We don't know," Poppy told her. "That's all she wrote. Look, Piper, I know that you're afraid of flying."
"That's not really a fear," Piper told them. "I just prefer buses."
"Well, as long as you stay in a crowded restaurant, you'll be fine," Poppy told her. "And since Phoebe's afraid of being trapped in an elevator, I'll tell her to take the stairs. And tell Prue to stay away from water. Ever since Mom and Lucia's mom died, she's been terrified of drowning. And since I'm scared of heights, I'll stay on the ground or first floors. I mean, when Dream Sorcerer almost threw me off of that building in the dreamscape, I was petrified."
Poppy and Piper looked at Parker.
"What?" Parker asked. "I honestly can say that this guy is not gonna get to be because I'm not scared of anything. You two both said that."
"Yeah, except for that thing in the basement," Piper told her.
"Okay, well, then I'll stay out of the house," Parker told them.
"What are you gonna do, then?" Piper asked.
"Tanjella gave us this flyer for a wicca gathering, and there's a woman named Zoe listed as a contact," Parker explained. "I'm hoping that she can help. Poppy, just pay Phoebe and Prue a visit, or call them and let them know what's up. Piper, stay here, stay safe."
"Okay," Poppy told her. "Good luck."
Parker nodded. "Yep."
Parker turned around, walking away, under the ladder, leaving.
Piper made an exasperated sound and gesture because Parker had walked under the ladder. "Parker!"
Poppy chuckled in amusement.

Phoebe was in her interview.
The lady interviewing her was named Susan. "As you can see, we're a small firm, but we've built a very successful business."
"Oh, well, size doesn't matter to me," Phoebe told her. "What does excite me, though, is the chance to work with successful women. I mean, if I want to be a success, who better to learn from, right?"
"Oh, I like that," Susan told her. "I've heard all I need to hear. When can you start?"
Phoebe smiled. "Are you serious? I got the job?"
"I can spot talent when I see it," Susan told her. "Um, can you start today?"
"Uh, yeah, yes, of course," Phoebe answered.
A guy walked in.
"Hi, honey," Susan told her. "Give me a second." The guy walked back out. "Here are the keys. Louise is out of town, and I've got... I'll be in Calistoga for the day, so all you have to do is answer the phones."
"Taking a romantic midweek break?" Phoebe asked.
"Well, yeah," Susan answered. "Um, which reminds me, there is one special task I'll need you to handle from time to time. If my husband calls, I'll need you to cover for me."
Phoebe's eyes widened, as she laughed nervously. "Oh, uh, sure."
"Our little secret?" Susan asked.
Phoebe nodded. "Oh, of course."
"Well, you have my pager number. Have fun."
"Okay," Phoebe told her. Susan left. "You too."

"Oh, you couldn't be more wrong, witch," Barbas told her. "You're all alone. That's all I need."
"You have no power over me," Zoe told him. "I have evolved to a place where I have released all mortal fears. My inner strength will destroy you."
Barbas passed his hand across her face, making the flame from a candle fall on the carpet. Zoe tried to stomp it out with her foot.
Barbas smirked. "You didn't release your fear of fire, you only repressed it."
The fire spread, and flames surrounded Zoe.
Zoe was now terrified. "No, please."
"Save it for another life time," Barbas mocked. "You're frozen... in fear!"

She slowly moved her hand from one side of the room to the other, conjuring water as she used water to put out all of the fire in the room.
Smoke rose, the only evidence of the fire that had just started.
Zoe was on the floor, dead, with white hair.

"The coroner said there are no burn marks on the body," Darryl answered. "She didn't die of smoke inhalation, her heart gave up just like the others." He looked at Andy's shoes. "And I can't believe you're wearing the serial shoes again."
"They're my good luck charms," Andy told him.
"They're embarrassing," Darryl pointed out.
Andy changed the subject. "This is the fifth woman with ties of the occult that's been found dead since midnight. Now tell me it's not the work of some serial nutcase."
"I can't, but it still doesn't mean those shoes aren't embarrassing," Darryl told him.
A cop looked at Darryl. "Inspector, would you have a look at this?"
Darryl walked over to the cop. Andy looked under the sheet that was covering the body.
Darryl walked over. "The doorman keeps a visitor sign in log. Wanna guess who the last person was to see the victim?"
"I'm gonna guess the killer," Andy told him.
Darryl shook his head. "Parker Halliwell."
Andy sighed. "Parker and Poppy were the last ones to leave the occult bookstore."
Darryl nodded in agreement. "If it's not your ex, it's the twins. Poppy wasn't here, but still."

Quake
All five sisters were sitting at a table in Quake.
Poppy looked at Parker. "What did you tell Andy?"
"I didn't talk to Andy," Parker told them. "I just called 911, and I left."
"Are you sure you're okay?" Prue asked.
Parker nodded. "Yeah. It's just, uh... I can't get her face out of my mind, you know? There was so much fear, and her hair was pure white. The terror that she must have felt... It's just..."
"Okay, I'm scared enough, thank you," Phoebe told her. "So now what?"
"We avoid any place he can use to terrorize us," Piper answered.
"And what about all the other witches?" Prue asked.
"Well, I took Zoe's day runner," Parker told them. "Some of the names in there have got to be witches. I'll start making phone calls."
"I'll help, narrow it down, so we can warn them in half the time," Poppy told her. "I don't want to be late to save another witch again."
Parker nodded.
Prue reached for the salt, knocking the jar over, spilling some onto the table.
"Oh, oh, quick," Piper told her. "Throw some over your shoulder."
"Don't be ridiculous," Prue told her.
"It's bad luck," Piper told her. "You could be attacked by evil spirits."
"Piper, we have been attacked by plenty of evil spirits, and they had nothing to do with salt," Phoebe told her. "And considering our powers, I can't believe that you want to rely on this for our protection."
"My feeling is, you can never be too rich or too safe," Piper told them.
Phoebe saw a ladybug on the plant on the table. "Oh, look, a ladybug."
Poppy looked at Piper. "Is that bad luck?"
Piper gave her a sarcastic look.
"No, actually, Grams once told me that whatever direction it flies in, you can find your ideal mate," Phoebe told them. "We've gotta try it."
Phoebe flicked the ladybug.
The ladybug flied across the room, landing on Lucas.
Piper was surprised. "Oh."
"So does a positive superstition cancel out a negative one?" Poppy asked.
"I don't know," Piper told them.
"Wait, what's going on?" Phoebe asked.
"That guy has been trying to talk to Piper all day, and she has been avoiding him because her superstition about relationships starting on Friday the 13th," Poppy answered.
A waiter walking past tripped, spilling drinks all over Prue.
The other sisters started to clean up the mess.
"You should've thrown the--" Piper started.
"You know what?" Prue asked. "Piper, don't even say it. I'm going home to change."
"Be careful," Phoebe told her. "I love you."
"Yeah," Prue told them, standing, walking away, leaving.
"Okay, she can't say it," Poppy told them. "Maybe she's afraid it'll make her look too vulnerable."
"Ever since Mom and Lucia's mom died, you know, she has to be the strong one to take care of us and everything," Piper told them. "It's probably just all part of that."
"Maybe," Parker told them.
"Hey, I gotta get back to work," Phoebe told them.
"How's the new job?" Parker asked.
"Great," Phoebe answered. "Except my new boss wants me to lie to her husband about an affair that she's been having."
"Oh, how nice," Piper told her sarcastically. "What are you gonna do?"
"I don't know," Phoebe told them. "I'm just hoping it never comes up. Hey, good luck."
Phoebe walked away.
Piper looked at Parker and Poppy. "I gotta get back to work."
Parker and Poppy nodded.
Piper stood, walking away.
Lucas walked up to Piper. "How's it going?"
"Oh, good," Piper answered.
"Listen, um, we've been working so well together on the fundraiser, I was, uh, wondering if you want to get dinner after it's over," Lucas told her.
Piper looked away, glancing at Parker and Poppy. "Uh, I should probably..." Parker and Poppy gave her a look. "I should probably check my schedule."
"You, uh, don't know if you're free tonight?" Lucas asked.
Piper looked at Lucas. "Well, um..." She noticed the ladybug on his shoulder. "Dinner would be great."
"Great," Lucas told her.
Piper smiled a small smile.
Parker and Poppy exchanged a smug look, clinking their glasses together, drinking.

"Parker, you wanna tell us what you were doing at that woman's apartment?" Darryl asked. "Like how you and Poppy were at the bookstore."

"You mean Savannah?" Andy asked.
Parker nodded. "Yeah."
"Savannah's been missing," Darryl told her. "When you got to Zoe's apartment, was she alive, or already dead?"
"Dead," Parker answered.
"So you called 911?" Andy asked. "Why didn't you leave your name? Why did you just duck out?"
"Because I wanted to avoid this," Parker answered. "I knew that you'd suspect me of being involved and I'm not."
"Parker, don't you think it's a little coincidental you being one step ahead of death twice in one day, like you and Poppy were earlier?" Andy asked.
"What exactly are you implying?" Prue asked.
"If you were in my shoes, what would you think?" Andy asked.
Poppy looked at Andy's shoes. "First of all, nobody should be in those shoes."
"Told you," Darryl told him.
Andy gave both Darryl and Poppy a look.
"But if I were, I would never think that you had anything to do with these deaths," Prue told him. "And if you had younger siblings, I wouldn't believe they would be guilty, either."
"Prue, five women have been scared to death sine midnight, and we show up, we hear you screaming, we break in, find you terrified in the shower," Andy told her.
"She told you, she had soap in her eyes," Poppy told them.

"Mom used to wear a fragrance like that," Prue told them.
"We were too young to remember," Poppy told her. She looked into the book. "Parker, I thought you said there was nothing in here about releasing your fear." Parker looked at the page. "'To let go of your fear, trust in the greatest of all powers'."
"That wasn't there this morning," Parker told them. "It's in Mom's handwriting.I would have remembered."
"Okay, uh, what do you think the greatest of all powers is?" Poppy asked. "Do you think that's the Power of Five?"
"I don't know," Parker told them. Prue looked around. "What is it?"
"It's like I can feel her presence," Prue answered.
"Okay, maybe you should get dressed and go to Bucklands," Poppy told her.
"No, um, I don't really think I'm up for that," Prue told them.
"Look, Prue, you said he disappeared once Andy and Darryl got there," Parker told her. "So, maybe he only attacks when you're alone. When your fear is greatest."
"Yeah, you're right," Prue told them.
"Of course we are," Parker told her. "Whatever you do, stay away from water. Any water. Don't even drink it."
"Don't worry," Prue told them.
"I love you," Poppy told her.
"You, too," Prue told them.
"Why do you do that?" Poppy asked.
"What?" Prue asked.
"You never say 'I love you' to either of us," Poppy answered.
"I just did," Prue told them.
"No, you just said 'you, too', and you never say it to Parker, Piper or Phoebe, either," Poppy told her. "Have you ever said 'I love you' to anybody?"
Prue nodded sadly. "Yeah.I said it to Mom. And it was the last thing I said to her before she died. When she died alongside Lucia's mother."
Poppy looked at Prue sadly in sympathy, wrapping her arms around her.
Prue slowly returned the embrace.
Parker watched them somberly.

(Song:) In Love - Parker Theory
Piper was walking to somewhere, seeing Lucas, walking back the other way. She stopped a woman dressed up as a black cat who was about to walk past her. "Oh, uh, do me a favor. Uh, walk behind me so you don't cross my path."
"Okay," the woman said strangely.
Piper knelt down to pick up the woman's tail off the floor, ripping her dress in the process. "Oh, wait. Oh! You dropped your tail."

Kitchen
Piper walked into the kitchen, getting a cigar out of a shoe box.
Doug walked up to her. "Are you okay?"
"You seem kind of, I don't know, tense," Doug told her.
"Well, it just seems ever since I agreed to have dinner with Lucas, I've had a run of bad luck," Piper explained. "I broke a nail, the shipment of clams is late, I had to fire a hostess and I just ripped my skirt."
"Well, it is Friday the 13th," Doug pointed out, walking away.
Piper lit the cigar with the flames on the stove, starting to wave it in the air, chanting a spell softly. "Sage so fair, from far and wide, take my troubles and brush them aside."
The smoke detector went off from the cigar smoke.
"Is there a fire?" a chef asked. "Where's the smoke coming from?"
Piper quickly put out the cigar by putting it in a saucepan of boiling water, burning her fingers. "Ow!"
"Is it malfunctioning?" the chef asked.
Piper sighed. "It's just not my day."

SWA Properties
Phoebe was sitting at her desk. A man named Richard walked in.
"Hi, may I help you?" Phoebe asked.
"Hi," Richard told her. "I was looking for Susan."
"Oh, she's not here, but I can tell her you came by," Phoebe told him. "What's your name?"
"Richard Warner," Richard answered.
Phoebe realized who he was. "Oh, you're Susan's husband."
Richard nodded. "Unless she's got one I don't know about."
Phoebe laughed nervously. 'No, no. She doesn't have another husband."
"I thought I'd surprise her and take her to dinner," Richard explained. "Do you know where she is?"
Phoebe nodded. "Uh, yes. She went out."
"Okay, well, I think we established that," Richard told her. "Do you know where?"
Phoebe couldn't bring herself to lie to him. "Uh, well, she... that's actually interesting. She, uh... I can't do this."
"I don't understand," Richard told her.
Phoebe stood. "I'm sorry, Mr. Warner, but I can't be the assistant your wife wants without compromising my beliefs, and I just won't do that."
Richard stood. "Wait a minute, slow down."
"Don't worry about the office," Phoebe told him. "I will lock up."
Richard sighed sadly. "Thank you."
Phoebe was writing a note. "For what?"
"For not lying to me about Susan's affair," Richard answered.
Phoebe looked at him in surprise. "You knew?"
Richard nodded. "I've tried denying it for some time now, but I guess there comes a time when you have to face the truth."
Phoebe looked at him sadly in sympathy. "I'm so sorry."
"Don't be," Richard told her. "And listen, don't quit on my behalf."
"I'm not," Phoebe assured. Richard left. The phone rang. Phoebe answered. "SWA Property."
A woman's voice was on the other line. "Hello, may I speak to Susan?"
"Uh, no, she's not in right now," Phoebe answered. "Can I take a message?"
"This is Mrs. Joffee," the woman told her. "I'm outside a house Susan's supposed to show me, and she's not here."
"Uh, well, I'm sorry, but she must have forgotten," Phoebe told her. "She's out for the rest of the day."
"Can anybody help me?" Joffee asked. "I flew in from LA just to see this house. I'm under a terrible deadline to move from my other house."
"Uh, no one's here," Phoebe told her. "But you know, since you flew in an all, I guess I can show you the property. What's the address?"

Phoebe walked through the yard. "Mrs. Joffee? Hello? Mrs. Joffee? SWA Properties."
She heard Joffee's voice behind her. "Hello, dear."
Phoebe turned around.
Barbas was there, having been imitating the woman's voice. "Thanks so much for coming out."
Barbas grabbed Phoebe before she could run.
"Let go or I'll scream," Phoebe told him.
"I could use the fix," Barbas replied, passing his hand in front of her face.
Phoebe struggled. "I know how you kill. There are no elevators around here."
"Elevators?" Barbas repeated. "That's what you think your greatest fear is? You mortals need to look deeper. Down where the real truth lies. Your greatest fear is losing a sister, and I get two for one."

Prue was on the phone. "He's only a threat till midnight, okay? All right, well, take care, and don't look in any closets till then." The other line rang. "All right, look, I gotta go, somebody's calling me. Bye." She picked up the other line. "Hello?"
Barbas was on the other line, imitating Phoebe's voice. "Prue, it's Phoebe. I got stuck at a house I was showing. Can you come and get me?"
"Yeah, sure," Prue answered. "Where are you?"
"I'm at 3112 Napa Street," Barbas/Phoebe answered.
"All right," Prue told her. "I'm on my way."
When they hung up, Barbas looked at the real Phoebe, who was tied up with tape over her mouth.

Night - Quake
(Song:) The Answer - Brooke Ramel
Piper was having dinner with Lucas. "I can't remember when I enjoyed a dinner more. I'm so glad you suggested this."
"You know, I almost didn't," Lucas told her.
"Really?" Piper asked.
"I'm pretty sensitive to people's feelings, and I got the sense this morning that you were totally turned off to me," Lucas answered.
"How odd," Piper told him. "So what's it like being one of the city's most eligible bachelor?"
Lucas laughed. "That magazine article was so lame. I'm, uh, really a very simple guy. I value home and hearth, I'd like to settle down, have kids. I've got two nieces I'm crazy about, I even carry pictures of them."
Piper froze him. "You sound too good to be true." She reached into his jacket, pulling out his wallet, opening it up, seeing a photo of his two nieces. "You are too good to be true." As she was putting the wallet back in his pocket, time unfroze. Piper brushed at his jacket. "Lint. A little lint."
"Oh, thanks," Lucas told her.
"So, your instinct about me this morning was right," Piper told him. "I was sort of sending out negative vibes."
"Why?" Lucas asked.
"Well, there's this superstition that any relationship started on Friday the 13th is doomed," Piper explained. "So I was determined to avoid you, but then there's another superstition about finding your ideal mate--"
"Wait a minute," Lucas told her. "You were gonna reject me because of a superstition, but then decided I was worth going out with only because of another superstition?"
"Yeah," Piper answered.
Lucas was disappointed. "Well, it doesn't say much for me, then, does it?"
"Oh, um, it's that..." Piper trailed off.
"Piper, I'm sure you're very nice, but someone who lets things like superstitions or omens to determine their lives..." Lucas trailed off. "Well, I just had an experience like that with my last girlfriend, and it was a disaster. I'm looking for someone who's just not into that stuff. I'm sorry."

Nice Property - Outside
Prue arrived, opening the gate. "Pheebs?"
Barbas/Phoebe called out. "I'm in the backyard. You won't believe the view from here."
Prue walked into the backyard. "Pheebs, where are you?" She walked near the swimming pool. "Pheebs?"
Prue turned around, seeing Phoebe tied up.
Barbas was standing next to Phoebe, imitating her voice. "Isn't that a great view?" He pushed Prue into the pool, speaking with his own voice. "That's right." Prue sunk to the bottom, trying to swim back up to the top, but she couldn't. "Feed me your fear."
A bright light appeared in the pool.
Patty Halliwell appeared in the water. "Prue. Prue. You must face your fears, Prue. You must trust in the greatest of all powers. Love."
"Mom?" Prue asked.
"Save yourself," Patty told her. "Save your sister." She held out her hand. "Don't be afraid."
Prue reached out, taking Patty's hand. Patty pulled her up to the top.
Prue broke through the surface of the pool, gasping for breath, glaring at Barbas. "It's over."
Prue used her power, sending Barbas flying across the yard, making him fall, pulling herself out of the pool.
Barbas stood, in shock. "Your fear."
"I'm not afraid anymore," Prue told him.
Barbas started to burn. "No!"
Barbas exploded. The ropes binding Phoebe disappear, as did the tape on her mouth. Phoebe and Prue embraced in relief.
"Oh, my God, I was so scared," Phoebe told her.
Prue held her close. "I know. I'm just glad you're safe."
"I don't know what would happen if I ever lost you," Phoebe told her. "I love you."
Prue smiled sadly. "I love you."

Halliwell Manor - Living Room
Poppy, Parker and Piper were in the living room in front of the fireplace.
Poppy looked at Piper. "Hey, what are you doing?"
"Kicking myself," Piper answered. "I just lost probably the greatest catch in San Francisco."
"What happened?" Parker asked.
"He doesn't like women who rely on superstitions to make decisions," Piper answered. "And I'm not so sure he's wrong."
Phoebe and Prue walked in.
"So, Prue vanquished the Demon of Fear," Phoebe told them.
"Well, at least put him back in the bottle for another 1300 years," Prue told them.
"Wait," Parker told them. "Whoa, what? What happened?"
"Well, he pushed her into a pool, and then..." Phoebe trailed off.
"And Mom helped me out," Prue finished.
"Mom?" Poppy repeated.
"Okay, I know it sounds crazy, but I saw her," Prue told them. "It was just like my dream. She was this incredible vision, so peaceful, and she took my hand and brought me to the surface."
"That doesn't sound crazy," Piper told them. "I wish I could've seen her,"
"Me, too," Phoebe told them.
"I'm just glad you're okay," Poppy told them.
Phoebe, Piper, Poppy, Parker and Prue embraced.
"I love you," Prue told them.
The sisters pulled away.
"What did you just say?" Parker asked.
"I love you," Prue answered.
The other sisters smiled.
"I think that's the first time you've said that to me," Piper told her.
"Yeah, I know," Prue told them. "I wish I would have said it a long time ago. Ever since Mom died, I've been afraid to say it. I didn't want to lose anybody else."
"Well, we're not going anywhere," Poppy told her.
"Okay," Prue told them. "I'm exhausted. I'll see you guys in the morning."
Prue walked out, leaving.
Parker looked at Phoebe. "Uh, what happened to her in that pool?"
Phoebe smiled, shaking her head. "I don't know. But whatever it was, it must have been incredible."
