Chapter 22

Something cold in my forehead was what woke me up, slowly opening my eyes

"Jill!" I heard Elena's voice "Bon! Wake up, guys"

I heard Bonnie groan besides me "Elena?"

"Lena?" I asked, groaning slightly.

Elena looked visibly relieved "Oh, you're both okay"

I glanced around, seeing Bonnie and I were lying on a bathtub in oppositte sides, confused "My head..."

"What happened?" Bonnie asked, looking at me.

Both of us looked to be in pain.

Elena helped me up, "Come here" I stood from the bathtub with her help, watching her as she went to help Bonnie as well.

I held my head in pain.

Bonnie stopped, seeming to remember something, "Oh, my God" She looked at me, "Jill, Ben is a..."

"Vampire" I finished in a whisper, widening my eyes as I remembered what happened.

"Shh" Elena told us, pointing from her ear to the door, "They can hear you"

I nodded in understanding, turning on the tap, looking at them, lowering the lid of the toilet, sitting down on it.

Elena kneeled next to Bonnie.

"I'm so stupid" Bonnie told us.

"No, I am the stupid one" I told her. "All night I had been feeling as if Ben was up to something. It wasn't till it was too late when I realized you were in trouble"

Elena shook her head, "It's not either of your fault, guys. He had all of us fooled"

"How can you fool a banshee?" I asked.

Bonnie seemed sympathetic, sighing "You wanted to see the best of him, didn't you? For me"

"Of course I did" I nodded slightly, "I'm your best friend, I wanted the best for you" Bonnie smiled slightly. I sighed, looking at Elena "What's going on? Why are we here?"

"It must have something to do with the tomb and Emily's spell book" Elena answered.

"Spell book?" Bonnie repeated. She glanced at me, "Like Andrew's?"

I nodded, "Hmm. Damon said it could be used to open the tomb"

"Why didn't I know about any of this?" Bonnie asked.

"We were trying to keep you out of it, hoping it would never come to this" Elena told her.

"Come to what?" Bonnie asked.

"They need a witch to break the spell and let the vampires out" I told her. "Figured if we had no other choice, I could do it. Keep you out of the super freak world"

"No way" Bonnie told me, surprised. "You would have done that for me?"

I smiled slightly, "Anything for family"

Elena looked between us, confused.

The door suddenly opened.

Bonnie, Elena and I looked toward the door.

Elena stood in front of us protectively.

Ben walked in, walking toward the sink, turning the tap off.

"You're wasting your time" Bonnie told him. "I'm not gonna help you" Ben looked at me. Bonnie grabbed my arm, glaring at Ben "She won't help you either"

Ben smirked, leaning closer, grabbing Elena, holding her close. "That's why she's here. Motivation for you to behave. You know, you shouldn't be so desperate. You made it too easy" He pushed Elena out of the room, roughly. "She wants to talk to you"

I tried to walk out.

Ben stood in my way, smirking, closing the door, leaning against it, watching us.

I glared at him, "Dickhead"

I turned around, walking toward Bonnie, giving her a worried look.

Bonnie and I linked hands, sitting on the edge of the bathtub, looking toward Ben.

We had to get out of here.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door.

Ben tilted his head toward the door.

We heard a girl's voice coming from outside "I'm leaving"

Ben pushed himself away from door, opening it, walking to us, forcefully pulling us up and separating us, grabbing each one of our arms and walking out of the bathroom, leading us toward the room.

We were in a motel room.

The girl looked very familiar.

I tilted my head. "Weren't you hanging out with Jeremy?"

The girl, Anna smiled. "Don't you have good memory? That's right. We're practically dating. He's such a nice guy" I narrowed my eyes at her. Anna turned to Ben, "Keep them buttoned down. Compulsion won't work. Just use violence"

"Right" Ben told her "I got that"

Anna opened the motel room door, walking away, leaving, closing the door.

"Sit" Ben pushed Bonnie onto one of the beds before pushing me toward the one Elena was sitting at. "Behave"

Elena steadied me, looking at me in concern. "Are you okay?"

I nodded, squeezing her arm as we turned toward Ben who was looking at Bonnie "So you're the key to this. Literally. The one who opens the door" he glanced at me "And you, the backup key, if Bonnie doesn't cooperate. Tell me, how long have you two been witches?"

I gave him a sarcastic smile, "Is there anything to drink here?"

Bonnie glanced at me.

Ben smirked, walking closer to me. "Are you offering?"

Elena glared at him on my behalf.

I scoffed. "Why don't you try?" Ben chuckled, taking another step closer but what I said next made him hesitate "However, if I were you I'd embrace my heightened hearing. Last guy who tried to feed on me got some broken and bleeding eardrums"

Bonnie and Elena smirked.

Ben scoffed, rolling his eyes, pointing toward the nightstand between the two beds "There's water on the night stand"

Elena looked over, picking up the glass, starting to pass it to me.

In fact, I was not thirsty at all.

I slowly raised the glass of water to my lips.

Bonnie reached her hand to me, "Hey. Can I have a sip?"

Elena and I exchanged a knowing look.

Super badass Bonnie to the rescue.

"Of course" I said nonchalantly, pulling the glass away from my mouth, handing over the glass to Elena who gave it to Bonnie.

Bonnie took the glass, tossing the water on Ben, focusing harder, turning the water into flames making Ben scream in pain, patting down the fire from his arm.

Immediately, the three of us stood, running to the door.

Bonnie reached first the door, opening it, looking back to us. I pushed Elena outside first, following right after when Ben grabbed me.

I screamed as loud as I could, closing my eyes.

Luckily for me, a bubbling sensation ignited from my throat, my scream gaining strength and intensity, my hair blowing back from my face. The windows from the room shattered violently.

Vaguely I felt Ben shout in pain, letting go of my body, a whooshing sound as if he ran away from me.

"Jill!" As if under water I heard Bonnie exclaim.

I gasped out, suddenly feeling weak on my knees, having to use the doorframe to steady myself.

I looked up.

Bonnie grabbed my arm, looking worried, helping me stand. I glanced toward Elena who was lowering her hands, walking closer and wrapping her arms around me.

Out of nowhere, Stefan appeared next to us, glancing toward the room, raising his eyebrows.

"I heard the scream" Stefan informed, "Because of that, I knew exactly where you were"

Stefan glanced toward the room. I followed his gaze to see Ben hiding in the dark between the two beds, blood pouring heavily from his ears, nose and eyes.

My eyes widened, gasping slightly, holding onto Elena "I did that?"

Stefan raised his eyebrows, impressed. But still, he pushed wide open the door, getting Ben to hiss and try to get away toward the dark corners as Stefan ripped off the curtains.

"We should leave now" Stefan told us.

We exchanged a look, nodding, relieved we were safe.

~8~

Stefan took us to Grams' house.

Bonnie and I were sitting at the kitchen table, we both had a cup of tea in our hands as Grams sat in front of us.

She helped Stefan find us.

I was feeling a bit guilty about that. We weren't meant to involve neither of them. I didn't mean to involve Bonnie nor Grams into vampire bussiness. They were the normal ones (as much as we can call witches normal).

"How did you know where we were?" Bonnie asked.

"Many things can fuel a witches power" Grams explained. "Worry. Anger. After Stefan told me they had taken the two of you, I had a lot of both. Simple locater spell was easy after that"

I sighed softly. "I'm sorry" Bonnie glanced at me, shaking her head "About all of this"

Grams smirked, grabbing my hand and squeezing, "Not as sorry as they're gonna be"

Bonnie and I chuckled a little.

Stefan and Elena walked into the room.

"So what do we do now?" Elena asked.

"Well, for now, you need to stay here" Stefan told her.

"A prisoner, in my own home?" Grams asked skeptically, shaking her head. "I don't think so"

Stefan looked between all of us "I can't protect you if you leave the house"

"We'll protect ourselves" Grams told him sternly.

"We need to let him have Katherine back" Elena spoke. I looked at her, shaking my head incredulously. What the hell? I may like Damon but I had a super bad feeling about the Vampire Tomb. "He's not going to stop until he gets her. If we help him, maybe that ends it"

"No!" Bonnie and I exclaimed.

"It's not safe to open that tomb" I spoke at the same time Bonnie said, "He doesn't deserve to get what he wants."

We looked at each other. Well, at least we both wanted the same even if our intentions were different.

Elena looked at us, frowning "What other choice do we have?"

Elena looked up at Stefan, expectantly.

Grams sighed, shaking slowly her head "Witches being pulled down by vampire problems. As much as we tried to do to stay out of it. I'll open the tomb. You get your brother's girl and destroy the rest with fire. Then this will be all over"

Stefan hesitated. "We still have to get Damon to agree"

"He already agreed once" Elena pointed out.

"Yeah, and then we double crossed him" Stefan countered. I looked between them, confused. I was missing something. "So now he's angry"

"He's hurt" Elena corrected "There's a difference. I think I know what I have to do"

They exchanged a look.

I looked at Bonnie and Grams, biting my lip.

I...

I knew my Banshee powers were a bit sensitive since I screamed earlier. I wanted to believe that instead of the feeling of not wanting to open that tomb.

The more I thought about it, it screamed death to me.

It'd bring death.

I know it.

I felt it.

A/N:

Well, I had gotten into a big writer's block which apparently I got rid of?

It is always nice when this happens. Now, if only that could also happen with the hundred other books I have unfinished, that'd be awesome.

But baby steps. Baby steps. Also, I've been super busy with the last stuff of college. Got my degree which damn, feels it's way more complicated than the whole career. Then, I've been going here and there getting my license, then permits to work which apparently it's like mandatory to have if working on the health area. Then job hunting and blah blah. It's been an entire busy year of permits... And I still haven't gotten a job.

Who knew it'd be hard for a nurse to get a job?

Oh well, that's my entire paragraph of excuses as to why I haven't updated some books. The ones I get to update are because I have already a few drafts made of them or because inspiration for them comes easily.

Hopefully, this one won't return to the pile of not updated books for almost a year again.

Hope you liked this chapter cause it's the one that got me out of the writer's block. If I don't update in a few days, I will next week. I'm trying to create a writing and updating schedule to become more organized (if that's possible) so, if any suggestions on how to do that is very appreciated through Private messages :)

I never know when to end author's notes so I'm awkwardly gonna wave until you guys leave....

~*Peace and out,
De*~
