Chapter 18

I had slept at Bonnie's, not wanting to be at the same house as Elena for the time being, sending a text to mom to let her know.

My eyes were wide open, not being able to sleep specially since I had an annoying ache on the side of my neck.

I scratched my neck, pulling up in a sitting position, my hand in my neck.

"Jill?" Bonnie said groggily, opening her eyes. "What is it?"

I turned to face her, "Nothing" I mumbled, shaking my head and looking toward the mirror, my eyes widening at my reflection. All the side of my neck was covered with blood coming from a double puncture in my neck making me scream.

"Jillian!" I snapped my eyes open, seeing Bonnie hovering above me, holding my wrists together. "Hey, you're okay. You're okay. It was just a dream" she soothed, releasing my hands as I breathed heavily.

I slowly touched my neck, sensing there was nothing there. There was no blood, "I'm not okay" I said, starting to cry. "I was bleeding. I was dying"

Bonnie shook her head, "Hey, no. You're alive. You aren't bleeding" she quickly gave me a mirror, forcing me to glance at my reflection seeing no wound. There was nothing but my skin intact.

"I'm turning crazy then" I dropped the mirror, giving her a desperate look. "Why am I the only one?"

Bonnie had no answer, looking at me in sympathy as she squeezed my arm.

Tears slipped down my cheeks, silently.

I don't want this.

~8~

Next morning I felt better. No more dreams with me or that blonde woman I caught a glimpse of, being bled to death

Bonnie and I were silently sipping coffee when the news caught my attention.

My cup slipped from my hands in shock

Bonnie turned to face me as I stood up shakily, pointing at the TV, tears filling my eyes "T-that's her..." Bonnie walked closer, seeing the same as I. The woman had died last night, apparently from an animal attack. But, I knew otherwise. Someone drained her of blood

"You felt her death" Bonnie realized, looking at me "You predicted her death, Jill. Your Banshee side did it"

Somehow, a weight of my shoulders was lifted but I still looked fearful. Was now my job predicting every dead happening in Mystic Falls?

~8~

It took me and Bonnie a while to get to school as I didn't want to go, upset and scared for what I have felt last night. Bonnie's hand was tightly gripped around mine as we walked around the school, finding Elena. I avoided her eyes, trying to ignore her but Bonnie wasnt letting me do it.

Elena looked concerned "Hey" Bonnie tried to smile. I looked down "How are you?"

"My throat it's raw" I answered bluntly.

Bonnie sighed, grimacing "Jill screamed last night" Elena looked at me in worry "It was a woman in the news"

"Jill...." Elena trailed off

I forced a smile, looking up "I'm fine, Elena" I pulled my arm away from Bonnie's, starting to walk away down the hallway "Shall we?"

Bonnie and Elena followed

~8~

The three of us walked down the hallway our lockers were, looking toward Caroline and Matt. A small smile played on my lips.

"Did I miss something?" Elena asked

I tilted my head, smirking "Consider me cupid" Elena and Bonnie looked at me. "Thanks to me they're hanging out"

Elena chuckled, shaking her head "Kind of weird, don't you think?"

We watched Caroline and Matt back away into a classroom

"Caroline needs someone nice" I told them, "She's a good person"

Elena raised her eyebrows in surprise

Bonnie nodded in agreement "Yes, nice like him. As opposed to a homicidal vampire like Damon"

I shifted uncomfortably

Elena looked between us, "Yeah, how are you doing with all that?"

Bonnie and I exchanged a look

"I'm freaked out" Bonnie answered.

"And I'm confused as hell" I answered, sighing "Damon attacked her. She could be death right now"

Bonnie sighed, "But I'm also grateful" Elena looked at Bonnie in confusion. I tilted my head, looking at Bonnie in disagreement "To Stefan. He saved my life and..." I rolled my eyes. Bonnie looked at Elena "Have you seen him?"

"Not since he told me he was leaving" Elena answered, opening her locker, removing her scarf and shoving it and her bag inside "For all I know, he's already gone"

"He wouldn't leave without saying goodbye" Bonnie told her

"Yes, he would" Elena replied, pulling out books "He thinks he's protecting me. Clean break and all that"

"So, what are you gonna do?" I asked

"What am I supposed to do?" Elena asked, closing her locker "I've already begged him not to go. If I ask again, I'm being selfish. It is what it is"

We began walking down the hall

"Maybe it's for the best" I told her

Elena and Bonnie turned to face me

"What?" Elena asked "Why?"

I stopped walking, making them stop. "I mean, what kind of future could you have had with him, even if he stayed?"

A banner fell in front of us. The Promise of Your Future

We stared at the banner weirdly

Elena looked up "Did any of you just....?"

Bonnie and I shook our heads

"Ask Bonnie" I told them "She's the psychic one. Not me"

Bonnie gave me a look, looking at Elena sighing "No, I swear"

Elena sighed in annoyance, pushing the banner out of her way, walking down the hall "Oh, God"

Bonnie and I followed after her

~8~

I found Caroline in the hallway, grimacing when she walked toward me, "Hey Caroline"

"You and I need to talk" Caroline told me, grabbing my arm and pulling me toward the bathroom. I huffed as she let me go, fixing her hair, looking at her reflection in the mirror "I was mad at you. You called Matt in the middle of the night when your mom picked you up-"

"I didn't want you to be alone" I told her

Caroline stopped her movements, dropping her arms, "I was still drunk. I was in my PJ's, we cuddled"

I smiled teasingly, "Aw, for once Caroline the Queen Bee was weak in her knees"

Caroline pouted "It was nice"

My smile grew "Shouldn't you be thanking me for that?"

Caroline rolled her eyes "I thought you were doing it to annoy me. That our fresh star as friends was a lie" she admitted.

I sighed softly "I would never hurt you like that, okay? One thing was that I barely tolerate you and said I hated you. But hate is a strong word, Caroline" I crossed my arms, shifting uncomfortably. "I'd never play with your feelings like that. I felt bad for waking you up with me screaming like that in the middle of the night, and Matt is a good friend. I thought he could keep you company and make you fell better for the night you had"

Caroline softened her eyes, smiling a small smile "And he did. Thanks, Jill" I managed a small smile "And, well. We have spent an amazing time since, you know?" She grimaced, "And I think I'm starting to like him"

I smiled "That's nice"

"Isn't it weird?" Caroline asked, biting her lip "He is your cousin's ex"

I shrugged "Elena wants Matt to be happy" I told her. "He looks happy when he's around you. I'm sure Elena will be okay with you two if you decide to pursue something with Matt"

Caroline relaxed, starting to smile "You think so?" I nodded, smiling "Thanks! I was feeling weird for that but if you really think so, then all is good" Caroline hugged me. I awkwardly hugged back. Caroline pulled away, awkwardly "Sorry. I, um-"

"It's okay" I reassured "We're friends now, remember?"

Caroline smiled "We are" I smiled "I gotta go. But it is nice to be friends again, Jill. Bye"

Caroline walked away

"Bye, Care" I told her

Caroline flashed me a smile over her shoulder, leaving the bathroom

I looked away toward my reflection in the mirror and smiled. "Yeah, it is nice"

~8~

Mom draped her arms around my shoulders as we walked down the hallways of the school. It was night and the career fair where we were going to figure out what to do the rest of our lives was ongoing.

"You have tons of options to decide what to do in your future" Mom told me as we walked through the people and tables. "What calls you in?"

I shrugged "I don't know, mom" I answered with a sigh. Mom gave me a reassuring smile "I don't know what I'm good at"

"You're good in a lot of stuff" Mom told me, stopping at a table, picking up a pamphlet "Artist?"

I gave her an humorous smile "If you consider stickmen as art, then sure"

Mom lowered the pamphlet, giving me a look "Amazing stickmen"

We laughed

"My favorite girls" We turned around, our smiles fading as soon as we saw Logan walking toward us, smiling

"Oh, gosh" I gagged, grabbing mom's hand and pulling her away "Didn't you say you rejected him? Twice?"

"I did" Mom told me, this time she was the one pulling me away hurriedly, gaining distant from Logan "I slammed the door on his face"

"It wasn't strong enough" I murmured.

We walked down the hallway where we heard familiar voices, "Elena" Mom sighed in relief, pulling me toward a classroom where there was Elena and Stefan talking near a booth of career pamphlets, walking closer to them "Hide us"

I smiled awkwardly

"What's going on?" Elena asked

"The scum Fell has landed" Mom answered

Elena tilted her head in annoyance "Logan's here?"

I nodded, rolling my eyes "Can't get a hint"

Stefan looked at us in confusion "Wait, Logan Fell?"

Mom and I nodded

Stefan looked at us for a moment, turning around and walking out of the room quickly.

Elena, mom and I watched him go in confusion

I looked at Elena "Can your boyfriend not be more weird?"

Elena gave me a look, walking after Stefan

Mom sighed "Jill"

I shrugged "I'm honest"

Mom shook her head, following after Elena. I hesitated, biting my lip as I reluctantly followed. I had a bad feeling about Logan.

When we walked out of the classroom, we saw Logan had joined Elena and Stefan

Logan looked at us, "Jenna, are you dodging me?"

I stared at Logan, tilting my head aside. A sudden shiver passed down my back making me rub my arms, taking a step back from Logan cautiously

"It's a form of self-preservation" Mom told him

Stefan pursed his lips, looking at Elena pointedly "Um, Elena, why don't you, Jenna and Jillian go somewhere else?"

I looked between the three of them, linking my arm with mom's, pulling her back "We should uh, I think I saw a career over there that caught my attention"

Mom noticed my discomfort, nodding "Yeah, lets go"

We turned around, walking away quickly.

Elena followed after us

~8~

Once we were a nice distant away from Jerk Fell, we could relax.

Elena looked at us, "Aunt Jenna, when Logan came to the house, what did he say?"

I looked at Mom curiously

Mom groaned "Fake flattery. Stupid, dimpled grin. Puppy dog eyes"

"I'm serious, Jenna" Elena told her "How did he act? What did he say?"

I looked at Elena in realization. Is she implying Logan is a vampire? I gripped my necklace, starting to fiddle with it nervously

"He was the usual Logan" Mom answered "Was charming, a little more manic than usual. He kept trying to convince me to let him in" Elena looked at her in realization, worried. I looked at Elena worriedly "What?"

Elena looked between us, "Ok, listen to me very carefully both of you, Jill" I nodded. I was planning on it. Logan gave me the chills, I couldn't stop thinking he was going to do something bad tonight. "Do not, under any circumstances, talk to him again. I'm serious, Jenna, Jill, like ever!"

I nodded in understanding

Mom looked at us in confusion

Mr. Saltzman approached us, "Hey Elena. Jenna. Jillian"

Elena and I looked at him "Hi Mr. Saltzman"

Alaric looked at Mom "Yeah, I was hoping to see you tonight"

Elena gave me a teasing look

I narrowed my eyes at her

"Career night is the new bowling" Mom told him

Mr. Saltzman chuckled

I looked away, fighting back a smile "I'm gonna vomit. Update your flirting"

Elena held back a laugh, grabbing my arm "Ok, um, excuse us"

Elena pulled me away, walking down the hallway. I could see Mom ducking her head, a noticeable blush in her cheeks

"Subtle" I told her

Elena laughed "Jenna and Mr. Saltzman. Something tells me you're going to get good grades now"

I shoved her aside playfully "Shut up"

Elena still had a small smile in her face "I'm really sorry for keeping all this from you. It feels nice being able to talk about it with you"

I bit my lip "I know why you kept all of this a secret Lena. The same reason why I kept a secret what I am" Elena nodded sympathetically. I took a deep breath, "Logan is a vampire, isn't he?"

Elena nodded, looking down "Yes. We should talk to Stefan. He has some serious explanation to do"

I nodded "Oh, he does"

~8~

We walked out of the school, looking for Stefan. He was talking over the phone leaning against a railing as we walked closer to him, but he didn't acknowledge neither of us

"What happened?" Stefan asked over the phone "Are you ok?" I crossed my arms "Well, there's no need. He's here at the school"

Elena and I stopped next to him

"He's working the crowd" Stefan said over the phone, hanging up, turning to face us.

Elena tilted her head aside "So. Anything you'd like to share?"

"Out loud, please" I told him "The entire class wants to hear"

Stefan sighed, looking between us

~8~

Stefan, Elena and I walked down the hallway after he explained everything to us. I scratched the side of my head as if I could feel some wet thing dripping down my forehead

Elena grabbed my hand to stop me, looking at me in concern "You alright? You're gonna scratch your skin"

I shook my head "Sure. But, uh. Do I have something in my forehead?" Elena looked closely where I was scratching in confusion, shaking her head "Weird. It felt sticky and if some kind liquid was in my head"

Stefan tilted his head "Weird"

The three of us nodded in agreement

We saw Matt walking closer "Hey"

"Hey" Elena told him "Have you seen Logan Fell, the news guy?"

"Yeah" Matt answered "He just gave Caroline a ride home"

Matt turned around, walking away.

I looked at Stefan and Elena worriedly "Guys"

Stefan looked at us, "Stay here"

Stefan walked away

Elena bit her fingernails anxiously "Oh, Caroline"

I fiddled with my necklace again, staring after Stefan "She's gonna be okay"

Elena looked at me worriedly

I tried to look reassuring but I was worried. However, some part of me knew she was going to be fine.

~8~

After a while of waiting, Stefan walked inside the school, Elena and I walked closer to him immediately

"Caroline?" I asked without greeting him.

"She's ok" Stefan told us. I closed my eyes in relief that my friend was safe. Elena looked relieved as well "I took her home. She was shaken up. But all she knows is Logan attacked her. Nothing else"

"Where's Logan?" Elena asked

"Damon's dealing with him" Stefan answered

I furrowed my eyebrows "As in...?" Stefan nodded. I bit my lip "Will I feel it?" Stefan tilted his head "If he dies" I clarified

Stefan hesitated "I'm not sure. I don't know a lot about Banshees, Jillian"

I looked down nervously "Me neither"

Elena grabbed my hand "If it happens, I'm gonna be there with you, okay?"

I nodded, giving her a grateful smile "Thanks" I looked between the two of them, figuring they needed to talk privately. "I'm gonna go find mom so we can get ready to leave. Give me a call"

Elena nodded

I nodded at Stefan, walking away, leaving them alone to talk to each other.

~8~

I was at my room, happy that Elena and Stefan had worked things out and that I hadn't sensed Logan's death and screamed over it, though I was certain I did feel it once. But like I never saw his face when I predicted (like Grams and Bonnie told me I could do) people's deaths, I couldn't be sure. So far, I only felt someone was going to die. I couldn't see their faces until I saw them somewhere else.

I was reading a book when my phone rang. I picked it up seeing it was Elena calling, smiling teasingly as I answered "Well, well, well. Shouldn't you be having fun right-"

"Jill" Elena was crying. My smile faded, leaning forward and putting my book aside in concern "Come and get me please"

"What-" I stood up, holding my phone between my ear and shoulder, frowning in worry "Elena. Why are you crying? Is everything alright?"

I started to pick up my jacket and car keys

Elena sniffled, "P-please just come for me" I walked away from my room, closing my room "I'll explain everything, just..."

"Don't worry" I reassured "I'm on my way"

I hung up, walking out of the house

~8~

I was on the road, driving nervously toward the Boarding House, glancing often toward the rear view and the road, feeling as if someone was following me, confused. I picked up my phone, dialing Elena

"Jill?" Elena asked

"Uh, walk away from the boarding house" I told her. "I'm close, I think"

"I know. I think I see your car" Elena told me. "I couldn't be there, I've been walking down the road since I called you"

"You're an idiot" I scolded, "Its the middle of the night, something could happen to you"

"Y-you don't understand" Elena told me

"Explain it to me, then" I told her, looking toward the rear view mirror once again

"Stefan- " Elena suddenly gasped "Watch out. Someone just appeared in the middle of the road" I looked up but it was too late to try to stop the car, gasping, trying to avoid the hit. The car hit the man in the road, flipping over, rolling down the road "Jill!

I coughed, hanging upside down, glad I had put on my seat belt. "Elena?" I asked weakly, coughing up glass.

"I'm here" I turned to the shattered window, seeing Elena kneeling on the side of the car, worried "Are you okay?"

I groaned, "He came out of nowhere"

Elena nodded, looking around "We have to get you out of here" We froze however with the sounds of bones starting to break "Oh, my God"

I tried to follow her gaze, groaning in pain "Lena-"

"Vampire" Elena murmured in fear. I tried to break free desperately, in shock. Elena turned to face me, panicked.

We looked toward the vampire, seeing he was wearing a hoodie as he stalked closer

We screamed in horror, trying to break me free.

N/A:

I suck.

I've had this chapter in the works since waaaay before I finished episode 17. I had written 300 words (give it or take) before I had lost inspiration. But this morning I woke up and said 'I wanna write Power Inside'....

And this is what came out of it. For someone who has ever asked -And if you didn't, well. Your lose cause I'm gonna say this either way (:- I don't think I'm gonna have Jillian to fall in love with someone. This story is more than just romance. I don't want love to be a priority. It's more than just that.

Besides that well, I feel uncomfortable writing love stuff as an aromantic  ace person (There I said it) which is why neither of my stories (well OUAT doesn't count. Love and romance are one of the main stuff in there which I like weirdly enough lol) contain romance or a ship.

I could try but I don't guarantee a nice story with love *shrugs*

All that said, I hope you guys liked this chapter. I have planned this book until season 2 so far (and I'm working on season 3). I accept suggestions of what do you want to happen. I may take them in consideration or not, depending on what I want to happen. But I read them all even if i don't answer.

Thank you for reading, voting and commenting :)

~* Peace and Out
