In the dead of night in New York City, an explosion goes off that destroys part of the Oscorp building. From the smoke caused by the explosion, a body flying out of it which begins to rapidly fall to the ground. However, the falling body seems to snap out of his unconscious state and widens his eyes. He then aims his only working web-shooter at the building and fires a web at it, pulling hard on it to bring him back to the building which he latches on to. Breathing heavily, he pulls off his ruined mask to reveal his head of messy (H/C) hair, his bloody and bruised (S/C) face, and his tired (E/C) eyes.

Then another explosion goes off and the (E/C) eyed boy looks to see something literally fly from the smoke and fire. A hideous laughter echoed through the night air as a man on a glider soars through the night sky before heading straight to the boy in red, black, and yellow. The figure cackles menacingly as he reaches to his bag and pulls out some spheres which he throws at the boy. The spheres then split open to reveal spinning razor "wings" that allowed them to fly.

Green Goblin: "Where are you going, Spider?!"

Spider: "I seriously hate those things."

The (H/C) headed boy states as he leaps backwards off of the side of Oscorp and expertly avoid the Razor Bats. However, one cuts him and he cries out in pain. Then the man on the glider rockets towards the boy and grabs him by the throat. Then he spins him around before throwing him back towards Oscorp, and everything freezes with a record scratch.

Y/n: *narrating* "Hey. I'm Y/n L/n, the guy that just got thrown by Goblin there. Who am I? What am I doing exactly? What in the actual fuck is going on? Yeah, I'll explain everything. But first, I have to tell you the... whole story. Let's rewind."

The scene starts to rewind as time goes backwards. After a bit of rewinding, everything goes black. Then a large explosion goes off, signaling the start of the universe.

Y/n: *narrating* "Wait, I went too far. Fast forward!"

Things begin to go by much faster than usual, and then it stops as the scene shows the present time of New York City.

Y/n: *narrating* "Welcome to New York City, Ground Zero for what I like to call "Super-Disasters". Supervillains? Superheroes? Alien invasions? Demons? This is the place. Hell, even wizards and killer robots. We have it all."

An explosion goes off and the camera pans to shows a group of heroes fighting against some robots. One was a man in red and gold armor who shot energy blasts from his chest and palms. The next one was a man in a suit that looked like the American Flag who threw around a shield. There was also a guy shooting arrows, someone in red and blue shooting webs, and a redhead shooting bullets.

Y/n: *narrating* "You see that guy? That's me."

The scene freezes again and shows the man in red and blue slinging through the air.

Y/n: *narrating* "No, not Spider-Man! Over here! The guy in the back!"

The camera zooms in past Spider-Man and to a boy with (H/C) hair, (S/C) skin, and (E/C) eyes. He was wearing a grey hoodie over a (favorite band) t-shirt with jeans and (favorite brand) sneakers. On his back was a (F/C) and black backpack.

Y/n: *narrating* "Yeah, hi. What did you expect? Spider-Man? Nope."

Time resumes and Y/n watches the "Avengers" fight against the robots who were made and sent by HYDRA. Among him was a whole crowd of people watching from the sidelines, unaffected by the fact that they were in the kill zone. The people trusted the Avengers so much that they never thought that they'd get in the crossfire. People are stupid that way, but Y/n was there with them, so he was kinda stupid, too. Oh, and so was his best pal, Mason Matthews.

Mason: "Dude, I can't believe we get to see the Avengers fight in person!"

Y/n: "Eh. Nothing we haven't seen like, I dunno, every other day? Seriously? Killer robots? HYDRA needs to up their game."

Mason: "Bro, are you criticizing villains now?"

Y/n: "Tch. It's sloppy and unoriginal. At least throw in some super-soldiers or something. Who cares anyway? We're gonna be late to school."

Y/n said as he grabbed the back of Mason's backpack and dragged him away from the fight. He struggled against his best friend as he protested.

Mason: "Noooo! I wanna watch the fiiiiight...!"

Y/n: "You're such a child."

Mason: "And you're a stick in the mud."

Y/n rolls his eyes as he drags Mason to their school. It was a nice school with a bunch of personal labs and nice enough students. The faculty were pretty cool, too. Most of the day there were classes to partake in, but students were allowed in their personal labs the rest of the day. It was fun, and there was a lot of freedom for the students. But there was one thing that still bothered Y/n.

Y/n: "I still don't understand how you got in."

Mason: "Hey, I may be a moron, but I'm just as smart as you."

Y/n: "Oh, yeah? What's the weight of the sky?"

Mason goes to open his smirking mouth to say something, but stops when he realizes he doesn't have an answer. Y/n took his silence as his answer and speaks.

Y/n: "Well, water vapor averages 0.04% of the volume of Earth's atmosphere. That means the sky holds 4,824,146,196 gallons of water. At eight pounds per gallon, that's another 38,593,169,564 pounds of water in the air. Add it all up, and the total weight of our sky is 12,107,415,382,493,169,564 pounds, more than 12 quintillion pounds."

Mason: "You're such a nerd."

Y/n: "And you are the worst trouble maker I've ever met."

Mason: "Heheh. Yeah."

As Y/n drags Mason down the sidewalk, many people look at them in a mixture of curiosity and confusion. However, they don't sag anything and let the two go on their merry way.

Y/n: "I'm still surprised that you haven't been at least suspended yet. You're supposed to use your experiments and inventions for school projects and whatnot, not to cause panic and mass hysteria on the first week of school."

Mason: "Oh, come on. I'm not that bad."

Y/n: "You took your mom's old antique dolls and turned them into animatronics. That you sent all around the school."

Mason: "They were just collecting dust in the attic. I found a use for them."

Y/n: "You threw a high velocity ball and let it bounce all around the school. No one knows where it is now."

Mason: "Probably met another bouncy ball and settled down. Think it named one of its kids after me?"

Y/n: "You grew a cyborg tiger in your lab and let it loose on the school!"

Mason: "Don't you dare bring my baby boy Zachery into this! Besides, he had a nice new home in the zoo. So no harm, no foul."

Y/n: "Zachery" tore up Max's office."

Mason: "He was just curious. He'd never been outside the lab before."

Y/n sighs in annoyance as he drags the ravenette behind him.

Y/n: "You're a menace to society."

Mason only chuckles as he takes Y/n's words as a compliment. Then, after some more small talk, Mason had finally got on to his own two feet and joined Y/n in walking. Then they finally arrived to their school. Oh, yeah. Was it mentioned that they go to Horizon High?

Y/n: "Let's go."

Mason: "Right."

The two then walked through the schoolyard. They pass students who were either going about their day or getting ready for their school day. Mason was nodding his head to the music he was listening to in his headphones from his phone. Y/n was just keeping his hands in his pockets as he walked forward with Mason. Then Y/n notices someone wandering around, trying to get the attention of some students. However, no one payed any mind to him. This makes Y/n sigh as he nudges Mason's arm, gaining his attention as he takes out one if his earbuds.

Mason: "Hm?"

Y/n: "I think I found first week's missing student."

Y/n said as he pointed to the kid in front of them. Mason stares at him for a moment before he nudges Y/n back.

Mason: "Let's go help him. He probably doesn't have any idea where to go."

Y/n groans as he wants to make sure he got to class on time. But he knew Mason wasn't going to leave him alone, so he just sighed and walked up to the lost student.

Y/n: "Hey! You the missing student?"

The boy turned to Y/n and Mason, revealing that he was African-American.

Missing Student: "Uh, y-yeah. I was... busy last week. Couldn't make it. But I'm here now."

Mason: "Alright. I'm Mason Matthews, and this is Y/n L/n. You?"

The boy smiles as he answers.

Miles: "Name's Miles. Miles Morales. Nice to meet you guys."

Mason: "You, too."

Y/n: "What're you doing out here anyway?"

Miles: "I, um, am trying to ask for directions to the headmaster's office. No one's helped me, though."

Mason: "We can help. We've been there so many times, we know the path like the back of our hands!"

Mason says as he raises his hand. Then he looks at the back of it and raises a brow.

Mason: "That's new."

Y/n spots a ball flying towards them, but before he can react, Miles reaches out and easily catches it with one hand. Y/n and Mason look at him in surprise as he just chuckles awkwardly and throws the ball back to its owners without even looking.

Miles: "So, uh, let's go?"

Y/n: "Sure..."

Y/n says as he walks past Miles and Mason. Miles looks at the ravenette who just smiles and shrugs.

Mason: "Don't take it personal. He's never good with people, but he'll open up to you. Let's go!"

Miles nods as he follows Mason and Y/n inside Horizon High. They walk through the halls as the two friends lead Miles to the headmaster's office. Miles and Mason were talking up a storm behind Y/n who seemed a bit annoyed, but ignored it as he walked. After all, Y/n was never one to talk as much as Mason did.

After a bit of walking, the three arrived at a door and some noises from inside was heard. Miles looked at Y/n and Mason in confusion, but they just shrug their shoulders before Y/n knocks on the door. After a moment, movement is heard and the door opens to reveal a man in a blue shirt with glasses, along with bright orange hair.

Man: "Ah! Y/n, Mason! What a wonderful surprise. Shouldn't you be in class, though?"

Mason: "We would, Max old pal, but we had to bring in last week's missing student to you since he didn't know where to go."

The man now known as Max looks past Mason to see Miles waving at him awkwardly. However, the man only smiles as he looks at the boy.

Max: "Oh, you must be Miles Morales. Wonderful to meet you! My name is Max Modell, head of the school."

Max says as he holds out his hand to Miles who takes it and shakes it.

Miles: "Nice to meet you, too, Mr. Modell. Sorry that I wasn't here last week. I was... busy. With personal stuff."

Max: *lets go of Miles' hand* "It's completely fine. And please, call me Max. Everyone else does."

Miles: "Of course."

Max: "Great."

Max then looks back down at Y/n and Mason.

Max: "You two can head back to class now. I'll handle Miles from here."

Y/n: "Right."

Mason: *playfully salutes* "See ya, Max-Master!"

Max: "Hahahaha! Don't call me that."

Mason: "Right..."

Mason chuckles a bit and Y/n rolls his eyes. Then he grabs the back of his friend's backpack and drags him away and down the hallway.

Mason: "Nooooo....!"

Miles watches the two leave before turning back to Max.

Miles: "They always like that?"

Max: "From how long I've known them, and that's only been a week, yes. And they have a track record together. In almost every record I have, one rarely never appears without the other."

Miles: "Heheh. They seem fun."

Max: "Yes. Well, come on in. I'd like to talk to you about your schedule and whatnot."

Miles: "Got it."

Max smiles as he moves aside to let Miles inside. He walks in and notices that it was a tad bit messy, and Max noticed Miles' confused face.

Max: "Sorry. I had lost something earlier and was just trying to find it. I'll be cleaning it up later."

Miles: "Oh. I can help look for it if you want."

Max: "Thank you, but I think I can handle it myself. Now, let's talk."

Max said as he walked into his office and his door automatically slides closed. However, neither he or Miles noticed the small spider crawling across the wall and into a nearby vent.

Meanwhile, back with Y/n and Mason, they were finally in class with their fellow students. In front of the class was the teacher: Dr. Otto Octavius. He was giving a lecture on neurology which Mason was barely paying attention to while he drew some sketches for something. Y/n was listening intently, along with other students, as he took notes on whatever Dr. Octavius was saying. Then his eyes drifted over to a girl two rows in front of him. She had messy black hair that looked like an afro, but it was actually tied up to look like that with two strands of hair going past her ears and barely touching her shoulders. She was writing down notes as well and her back was facing Y/n, but her face was already burned into Y/n's memory for some reason. Her dark, smooth looking skin with her emerald green eyes and her small nose. Y/n didn't know her name, but she was in his head for some reason.

"Mr. L/n!"

Y/n snapped his head forward and looked up front at Octavius. There he saw Miles standing next to him.

Octavius: "Are you paying attention, L/n?"

Y/n: "Uh, y-yeah. Of course, Dr. Octavius."

Octavius: "Good. In that case, you will be Mr. Morales' guide. Understood?"

Y/n: "Yes, sir."

Octavius: "Good." *to Miles* "Go sit next to L/n in that open desk. Make sure you take notes, Morales."

Miles: "O-of course, Dr. Octavius."

Miles says and walks back to where Y/n was and plopped down next to him. The boy turned and gave a small wave. The (S/C) boy just sighs as he turns his attention back to his teacher as he goes back to his lesson.

Lunchtime...

After the first half of the day's classes, lunch had come around. Miles had been following Y/n all around since they had the same classes.

After getting their respective food choices, Y/n sat down at a table with Miles and Mason. They began eating their food and Y/n looked at Miles.

Y/n: "So why weren't you here last week, Morales?"

Miles looks up at Y/n as he had his sandwich in his mouth. He takes a bite out of it as Mason looks at him as well and the boy chews before swallowing.

Miles: "Well, there was some... personal stuff that I had to get situated."

Y/n: "Ah."

Mason: "What was it?"

Y/n suddenly smacked the back of Mason's head. He yelps and turns to his friend in confusion.

Mason: "Dude, what the hell?"

Y/n: "You can't just ask that, man."

Miles: "No, no! It's fine, really. It's just, um... my dad died last week. He was a police officer. Jefferson Davis."

Y/n: "I heard about him. He died in a bombing, right?"

Miles: "Y-yeah. As a hero..."

Mason: "Hey, best way to go out, right? He died doing what he loved, and that was protecting people."

Miles: "Yeah. You're right."

Y/n: "I'm sorry for your loss, Morales. I'm sure he was a good cop, and an even better father."

Miles: "Thanks."

Y/n nods and consumes a whole chicken tender in one go. Mason ignores this while Miles looks at his guide in shock and awe.

Miles: "How did you...?"

Mason: "You get used to it after a while."

Mason says as Y/n smirks and eats another whole chicken tender again in one go. Miles slowly looses his shock and awe and just chuckles as he goes to eat again. Then Max walks past the three, seemingly annoyed, as he had his glasses in one hand and was rubbing his face with the other. Mason noticed this and looked at his headmaster.

Mason: "You okay, Max? You look stressed."

Max sighs as he stops and puts his glasses back on. Then he turns to Mason, Y/n, and Miles.

Max: "I lost something important. It was part of a project Mayor Osborn wanted Horizon to help with and sent it to me. Got most of them, but one's missing."

Miles: "Is that what you were talking about this morning?"

Max nods as he sighs in exhaustion and annoyance.

Y/n: "We can help look for it if you want?"

Max: "No, I don't want you all tangled up in my mess. Besides, I don't want you kids to get in trouble. Enjoy your meals, boys."

And with that, Max walks away and leaves the three boys to their meals. Miles looks at Y/n and Mason.

Miles: "What do you think the project is?"

Y/n: *shrugs* "Dunno. But if Max said to not get tangled in his mess, let's stay away."

Miles: "We should still help him."

Mason: "Why? Like, don't get me wrong. Helping people is nice and all, but Max specifically told us to stay out of it."

Miles: "But isn't it what Spider-Man would do?"

Mason: "Spider-Man?"

Miles: "Uh, sorry. He's just... my hero. Do what you can do to help others, y'know?"

Mason: "Sweet. Mine's Iron Man."

Miles: "Nice. What about you, Y/n?"

Y/n looks up from his food tray and at Miles.

Miles: "Who's your favorite hero?"

Mason bursts into a fit of snickers and laughter which catches Miles attention.

Miles: "What's so funny?"

Y/n: "... Hawkeye."

Miles: "What?"

Mason: "His favorite hero is Hawkeye. The freaking bow and arrow guy! He shoots freaking arrows, dude! That's lame!"

Y/n: "It is not! He is a totally cool superhero, and you cannot change my mind!"

Miles: "Hey, Hawkeye is pretty cool. I, myself, am a Spider-Man fan. And have you heard about that new Spider-Man?"

Mason: "What? That "Kid Arachnid"?"

Miles: "Spider-Man."

Mason: "Whatever."

Y/n: "Isn't he that guy in black and red? Can't he do, like, invisibility and whatnot?"

Miles: "Yeah. He's cool, right?"

Y/n: "Eh. He's nothing compared to the original. Experience is better than power."

Miles: "... you got a point there."

Mason: "Heheh. Y/n always seems to have some way to ruin things."

Y/n: "And you find a way to blow everything up."

Mason: "Touché."

Miles laughs a bit which makes Mason chuckle, and Y/n smiles.

Timeskip...

After lunch, the students were allowed in their own personal labs and Y/n was seen in his. He was on a project he started the week prior and was currently in construction on it. It was rather bulky since it was only a prototype, but Y/n can get the kinks out when he finishes the prototype and tests it out.

As Y/n works on his project, the spider from before is seen crawling into his lab through the vent. Y/n doesn't spot it as he works on his device. A small explosion rocks his lab, but Y/n pays no mind to it as he simply raises his hand and catches his falling books and pushes them back on to their shelf. Then he sighs.

Y/n: "Mason really needs to learn how to not blow things up."

Y/n says as he rests his hand on his desk. He turns to look at his back wall where he knows that Mason would be sitting since their lab neighbors. However, Y/n doesn't seem to notice the spider crawl on to his desk and to his hand.

Y/n: "I'm gonna need to give him a stern talking to so he doesn't blow up the school in the future."

The boy then turns back to his desk, only to see the spider on his hand. Before he could react, the spider bites down on Y/n's hand and releases its "venom" into him.

However, Y/n just looks at the spider in an unamused manner. Then he smacked the spider, killing it as it falls from his hand and on to his desk.

Y/n: "Wonderful. A spider bite."

Y/n scoffs a bit as he takes a napkin from his napkin box he keeps in his lab and grabs the spider. He then tosses it away into his trash bin and goes back to his desk. He looks at his hand to see the spider bite and a bit of blood. He sighs and wipes it off with another napkin and then grabs a small box on his shelf. He opens it and takes out a band-aid, takes the band-aid out of its wrapper thing, and places the band-aid on to his hand where the bite was.

Y/n: "Gonna have to check that out later."

Y/n tells himself before getting back to work.

Timeskip...

After the school day ended, Y/n is seen walking down the sidewalk. Mason had left to go to his own home as Y/n went to where his grandfather worked and where he went to help out sometimes. Say hello to Food, Emergency Aid, Shelter, and Training. Also known as the FEAST shelter.

Y/n then walked up the stairs, giving some small greetings to the homeless talking outside. Once inside FEAST, Y/n was met with workers inside moving around and working to help the homeless inside. Lots of people were on beds or talking or just hanging around with each other, either playing the games given or watching TV.

Y/n looked around, trying to find his grandfather among the large amount of people inside. Thankfully, he saw someone who could help him.

Y/n: "Yo, Peter!"

Y/n called out to the man as he jogged up to him. The man turns to Y/n and smiles.

Peter: "Y/n! How's it going, pal?"

Y/n: "I'm fine. Seen my grandpa anywhere?"

Peter: "Oh, yeah. Rick is in the kitchen with Aunt May, last I saw him."

Y/n: "Thanks, Pete."

Peter: "No problemo, Y/n. See ya!"

Y/n waves Peter Parker goodbye as he walks to the kitchen. There he sees a bunch of workers making food. Then he threw his attention to two specific people. One was an elder woman who looked like she was wise beyond her years.

The other was a much older man with white hair slicked back and wore some killer shades.

Y/n: "Yo, Grandpa! May!"

Rick L/n and May Parker turn to see Y/n walking up to them. They both smile.

Grandpa Rick: "Heya, sport! How was school?"

Y/n: "It was fine. The missing student finally came."

Grandpa Rick: "Well, that's a relief. They cool?"

Y/n: "He's alright. Hi, May."

May: "Hello, dear."

Y/n: "How was your guys' day?"

Grandpa Rick: "Mighty fine, thanks for asking."

May: "Wonderful, dear. Thank you for asking. Here for your daily "chores"."

Y/n: "Yep. I'm all--"

Y/n stops as he suddenly feels nauseous. His felt lightheaded and his vision became a bit blurry. His stomach even felt like it was dancing inside of his body.

Y/n: "A-actually, can I get some rest in the office? I'm not feeling so hot..."

May: "Of course. Go rest up, dear."

Y/n: "Thanks, May."

Y/n says as he walks away to leave the kitchen.

Grandpa Rick: "See ya, sport!"

Y/n gave a small wave as he left the kitchen and made his way through the FEAST shelter. He groaned a bit as he went up the stairs and to his grandfather's office. He walks over to the couch on tbe far side, tossing his backpack to the floor as he passes by the pictures and drawings that covered shelves, a board, and cabinets. He collapses on to the couch after slowly taking off his jacket, tossing it to the armrest of the couch. Y/n's entire body ached for some reason. Was it the spider that bit him? He knew he should've had it checked out before he left Horizon.

However, Y/n couldn't get much else thought into the situation as he slowly drifted to sleep.
