Chapter 153

After her parents left to visit Lily and James's new house in Godric's Hollow, Jenna went back upstairs into her room. She wanted to stop thinking about Sirius, but the harder she tried to get him out of her mind, the worse she felt.

What if he had actually thought that they had broken up? What if that was what he wanted?

That was the last thing Jenna wanted. It hadn't been even twenty-four hours since their fight and their split separation, but even so, she still missed him with all her heart.

The reason she hadn't gone to Lily and James's house with her parents was that she felt scared to meet Sirius. She was scared of his reaction.

What if he pushed her away? What if he actually wanted to split up?

When she thought back at their fight, Jenna realized how ridiculous they both have been. Even though Sirius was trying to talk Jenna out of it and she hated it, she realized now that it was only because he worried about her.

And even though Jenna was rather harsh on him, the only reason she refused to tell him about her mission was to keep him safe. Because like Dumbledore had told her, if he knew something about this, the Death Eaters would try to torture him for information.

Before Mr. and Mrs. Potter left that day to visit the newly wed couple, they double-checked on the protective enchantments around the house. Because no matter how much Jenna told them that she was going to be safe, they still worried, seeing as they weren't going to return back home until the next day, due to a mission.

So after they finally left and Jenna found herself alone in the enormous house, she went upstairs to her room and took out the wanted poster of Alecto Carrow which Dumbledore had given her the previous night.

Since that morning, Jenna had turned her hair back to her own original brown color and let it take its natural form, which turned out to be messier than what she used to let out.

When her mother had asked her why she wasn't turning it blue like always, Jenna only shrugged and said she had gotten tired of the weird colors and wanted to look this way for some while.

But the truth was something else.

Changing her appearance to someone else might've been easy for Jenna, but to keep herself that way for a long time was the real trick. She wasn't sure how long she could hold her face like someone else's, so she changed her hair back to normal to save as much energy as she could for the real transformation.

So Jenna stood in front of her mirror and looked down at the picture of the grim looking woman for the hundredth time. With that, she finally looked at her reflection in the mirror before focusing and turning her face into Alecto Carrow's.

She felt a shiver run down her spine when she saw her new face in the mirror. Disgusted, not because of her feature, but because Jenna thought of all the people that woman had probably killed or tortured.

But before she could get overwhelmed by her emotions and allow her hair from changing color, Jenna shook her head off the matter. She had agreed to this. She had known what she was getting herself into. She didn't want to back out.

Dumbledore wanted all the information Jenna could get from Voldemort's side; whether it was the names of his followers, his future plans, or the things he had already done but had gone unnoticed by the Wizarding world.

Jenna knew how crucial this was for people on her side, and so she tried to put aside all her fears and so got to work.

She managed to hold her face as Alecto Carrow's for around an hour at first before it started to get painful and make her weak. She could feel all the energy get drawn from her. So she gave herself a long break before trying again.

It was around eleven o'clock and the sky was as dark as ever, yet it was clear of any clouds despite the fact that it was the beginning of winter.

Jenna wasn't awaiting her parents' arrival, knowing that they weren't expected to be back home until tomorrow, because of their mission.

In fact, she didn't expect anyone to show up at that hour as she was sitting in the living room for another break, turning her face back to its original state again.

Jenna was staring blankly into the fireplace that she suddenly came to a halt when she heard a sound outside the house.

Someone had Apparated.

Knowing that her parents wouldn't be back until tomorrow, Jenna's heartbeat picked up and so she reached out for her wand, getting to her feet.

Only when she neared the door did she hear that it was raining. So with her wand clenched in her hand, Jenna opened the door, only to see a big black dog outside, sitting there under the pouring rain with puppy eyes and wiggling his tail.

"Seriously?" Jenna raised a brow at the dog, who barked at the pun. So she just rolled her eyes and turned on her heels to leave back inside.

"Okay, okay! Wait!" Jenna stopped when she heard Sirius say.

Turning around, she saw him standing there now in his human form with his black leather jacket on, wet from head to toe under the rain.

"I — I just wanted to apologize," said Sirius.

Jenna was still standing by the doorframe so she wouldn't get wet under the rain as Sirius went on.

"Look, I know I'm not the most thoughtful person in the world, but I care for you, Jenna. Maybe a little too much. The — the only reason I feel protective about you is not because I think you're weak, but because I love you. And the thought of you getting hurt... it kills me."

Jenna was speechless as she stared at him. But when she paid a close attention, she realized that it was only raining above Sirius, and not a few feet away.

She stared at him in disbelief. "Are you making it rain!?"

"Well, you're kinda missing my point here," Sirius smiled sheepishly, "but yeah. I thought it would be more romantic."

Jenna started laughing, shaking her head at him. "You're unbelievable, Sirius Black. You really are."

"Does that mean I'm forgiven?"

"Well... you're not the only one at fault here... but yeah." Jenna nodded, smiling at him. "I'm really sorry, too."

"Hmm... I'm still not convinced that I'm fully forgiven, though."

"Well, how do you want me to prove it?"

Sirius's grin widened. "How about a kiss under the rain?"

Jenna chuckled. "I swear you're the most dramatic person on earth. And that's saying something, considering the family I was raised in."

"Hey! What was even the point of doing this extraordinary magic and making it rain if we're not gonna kiss under it?"

Jenna smiled at him and so without any other word, she walked into the yard and under the pouring rain, flinging her arms around Sirius's neck and bringing him down into a kiss.

When they finally pulled away after a long while to catch their breath, Sirius took a deep breath as he pressed his forehead against hers.

"I love you so much, Jenny," he whispered, opening his eyes and gazing into hers as he held her in his arms. "And every moment when I think that it's impossible to love you more, I look at you and I fall for you even more."

Jenna smiled at him and then Sirius took a step back, digging into his pocket, taking out the Golden Snitch which he wanted to give her for years now.

"Did you know that Snitches have flesh memories?" Sirius asked.

"Yeah..."

"Well, this one opens up at your touch."

Jenna's head snapped up and she looked at Sirius in surprise. "Really?"

"Here, take it," he said, raising the Snitch in his hand for her to take.

Feeling excited, Jenna took the Snitch from him and held it in her hand, running her fingers over it, her stomach lurching as it started to open up.

But her eyes widened the moment she saw a ring inside it, shining bright through the dark.

Shocked at the sight, Jenna then looked away from the Snitch, only to see Sirius down on one knee before her as he smiled up at her and said,

"Will you marry me?"
