Chapter 136

In the middle of the night, Jenna woke up to the loud sound of Sirius's breathing, which was closer to her that she expected it.

Blinking a few times to be able to process what was going on around her, she realized that Sirius had wrapped an arm around her waist tightly, his body against hers.

Jenna raised her head slightly and looked over her shoulder, seeing that Sirius was asleep behind her on her side, taking all the bed's space, meanwhile she was close to falling off the bed.

"Sirius." Jenna whispered, trying to wake him. But the boy didn't even stir. "Sirius!"

Sirius groaned, but didn't even open his eyes and only tightened his grip on her, still fast asleep.

"Oh, for Merlin's sake," Jenna mumbled angrily to herself before shouting, "SIRIUS!"

Sirius jolted awake, eyes wide as he looked around in shock before his gaze fell upon Jenna while she glared at him.

"What?" he said grumpily, rubbing his eyes as he sat up, yawning.

"You're taking all the space on the bed!" she said, pointing at the empty side if him and at how she was close to falling off.

"That's why you woke me?" Sirius raised a brow at her as if he deemed the matter worthless of having to give up his sleep.

So with a huff, he turned his back on her and went back on his side, quickly falling asleep.

Happy that now she finally had her space, Jenna moved a little back from the edge of the bed and closed her eyes, going to sleep.

But the morning when she woke up to the sun beaming through the room, she found herself once again at the verge of falling, with Sirius right behind her and his arm once again wrapped around her.

She tried removing his hand from her, but it was so tightly clutched that she was unable to do it. So regretfully, she moved her feet and kicked Sirius's leg hardy from behind.

"OUCH!" Sirius jumped awake from the pain, looking around in confusion.

"Oh, I'm sorry... did I wake you?" said Jenna in mock sweetness.

        "You kicked me!"

       "Oh, did I? I didn't realize that."

        "It hurt!"

"Oh, don't be such a drama queen," Jenna laughed, getting off the bed and making her way over the bathroom to take a quick shower.

Sirius usually took his showers at night before sleep, saying that it helped wash the tiredness away. But Jenna liked it in the morning, claiming that it gave her a better fresh start for the day.

When she got out of shower, already dressed, she saw that Sirius was already out of bed. Hearing noises coming from the kitchen, Jenna walked out of their bedroom, only to find Sirius cooking, shirtless.

"What are you doing?" She chuckled, going into the kitchen.

"Cooking, Jenny. What does it look like I'm doing?" he said cheekily.

"Well, what are you cooking?" she asked curiously, going to hug him from behind.

"Pancakes!" Sirius said cheerfully, making her giggle. "I mean it's my first time, but I saw you do it once, so I thought it wouldn't be too hard."

"Are you trying to make up for the fact that you kept taking all the space in bed last night?"

"Oh, don't act like you didn't enjoy me holding you, Kitten." Sirius grinned, turning around to face her as he wrapped his arms around her, bringing Jenna closer to his chest.

"Enjoy?" She scoffed. "Sirius, you nearly kicked me off the bed last night!"

"But if I recall correctly, it was you who literally kicked me in the legs this morning."

"Be grateful it was your legs, and not a little higher."

Sirius laughed, shaking his head at her. "Why are you so violent, Jenny? That's not healthy for our relationship."

Jenna smiled, her eyes suddenly falling down his bare chest automatically. "Are you always gonna be walking around the house shirtless?" she asked, wrapping her arms around his neck.

       "Are you complaining?"

"Not even a little." Jenna grinned, going on tiptoes to bring him into a kiss.

But not a few seconds later, a weird smell filled up the kitchen. Sirius's eyes widened. "Pancakes!"

"Er... my name is actually Jenna," she joked, but Sirius wasn't even listening.

He ran toward the pancakes, groaning when he saw that they had burned a dark shade of brown, no longer eatable.

"Damn it, Jenna!" he huffed but she only laughed.

        "What did I do?"

"You distracted me!" Sirius said angrily, but Jenna only laughed. "With your temptress ways!"

"Temptress?" Jenna repeated, raising a brow. "Would you rather I turned myself into Filch instead, so you wouldn't be too distracted?"

       Sirius glared at her.

Jenna chuckled. "Here. I'll make us bacon. You throw your pancakes away."

Grumbling grumpily to himself, Sirius sat behind the kitchen table as Jenna got to work to make them breakfast.

"By the way, I saw James's two-way mirror last night. Found it in my trunk," said Jenna.

"What? Why do you have it?"

"Rememberer when you gave it to me so we could talk to each other in our separate detentions? Well... I put it in my trunk so I could give it back to James later, but completely forgot about it."

"Where did you put it now?"

"In our bottom drawer," Jenna answered. "Remind me to give it back to him, will you?"

"Yeah, sure," said Sirius flatly, still in a foul mood because of the ruined pancakes.

Jenna waved her wand to make the plates fly out of the cupboards and land on the kitchen table, serving the delicious breakfast. But Sirius said nothing during the whole time they were eating.

"Sirius! Get over it!" Jenna said, rolling her eyes. "They were just stupid pancakes!"

Sirius gasped, as if personally offended. "Don't call my pancakes stupid!"

"Why do you have to be so dramatic all the time?" Jenna chuckled. "Besides, cooking isn't for everyone."

      "Hey, I can cook too!"

"Sure. Say that to your burnt pancakes," she said wittily, trying to provoke him and holding back a smirk.

But all jokes aside, Jenna didn't expect him to take the matter so seriously. But that night, she was proven wrong.

Jenna woke up that night and found the bed empty. She looked at the clock overhead which was clear by the moonlight, seeing that it was way past midnight.

But then, she started hearing noises coming from outside the bedroom. Just in case, she took her wand off the nightstand and walked out, only to find Sirius in the kitchen.

"What on earth are you doing?" She asked him sleepily.

         "Making pancakes."

         "It's four a.m."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Sirius started sarcastically, "I didn't realize it was illegal to make pancakes after midnight. Send me to Azkaban, why don't you?"

Jenna giggled, making her way over him, only to see a bunch of ruined pancakes laying on different plates on the counter.

"How many have you made?" Jenna asked, her eyes widened.

"Yeah, well... turns out, you weren't the problem," Sirius said moodily, his focus completely on the new pancakes he was making. "Turns out, I suck at cooking."

"Well, maybe you don't have to —"

"Oh, look! These ones are finally turning out good!" Sirius said excitedly, and after some while, he served the pancakes ans placed the two plates in front of himself and Jenna on the table.

"Pancakes at four a.m..." said Jenna, looking down at her plate. "Sure. Why not?"

But the moment she took the first bite, she regretted ever putting it in her mouth. It tasted terrible.

"Well? How is it?" Sirius asked her hopefully.

So Jenna just forced a smile as she tried to swallow it without grimacing. "G-great."

Happily, Sirius took his first bite, only to spit it out immediately. "Ugh! What the heck is this?" He then looked up at Jenna guiltily. "Wow... you must really love me to be able to lie and say that this is good."

Jenna laughed, nodding. "I really do."
