Chapter 133

Before they knew it, the seventh years' examinations soon came to an end, and now they could finally breathe freely.

Although there was still an atmosphere of worry among Jenna and her friends, knowing that leaving Hogwarts meant joining the war.

But they decided to forget about that on their last day at Hogwarts, knowing that they would never return to this castle as students again.

While the Marauders were off somewhere to manage their final mischief, the four girls went by the Black Lake, enjoying the beautiful sunny day by the water and on the grass.

Lily and Marlene both had taken their shoes off and put their feet in the cool water, trying to relax and enjoy the peaceful quiet. Meanwhile, Alice was sitting behind Jenna, playing with her hair and humming her usual song under her breath.

Alice was bewitching the grass around them to grow beautiful white daisies to pluck them up and placing the flowers among Jenna's long hair.

"Can you turn your hair pink? I think it might go better with the white daisies in your hair," Alice said dreamily.

Jenna chuckled but obeyed nonetheless, turning her hair pink. Alice observed her from behind for a few second before shaking her head.

"No... on second thoughts, turn in back to blue," said Alice and Jenna did as she was asked. "Ooh! Perfect!" Alice exclaimed excitedly, moving forward to kiss Jenna sweetly on the cheek, making her giggle.

"I can't believe our seven years are over so soon..." Lily said in a hollow voice, starting ahead into the calm lake. "I'll miss it here."

"Don't forget our promise, though," said Jenna with a grin, hoisting herself up on her elbows as she was laying down on the fresh green grass.

"What promise?" Marlene asked, frowning slightly.

"In fifth year, when we were sitting right here, we promised that ten years later we would all gather back here," said Jenna.

But with that, Lily, Alice, and Marlene all looked away uncomfortably, not answering her.

"What?" Jenna looked at them with a puzzled expression.

"I think it's better if we didn't promise things like that, Jen," said Lily in a small voice, still avoiding her gaze.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jenna frowned, though she already knew where this conversation was going.

"It means that we shouldn't promise something that we might not be able to keep," Lily whispered.

"You guys are being ridiculous," said Jenna firmly, even though a part of her knew that they were right. "It will be fine. We'll make it through this."

But none of them answered her this time as a deadly silence fell among them. But thankfully they were all saved from the tension when from afar they saw the Marauders walking toward them.

But as they got closer, it appeared that James and Sirius were in the middle of a feverish argument as Peter and Remus walked alongside them silently.

"It was your fault, Padfoot!" They heard James say angrily. "How dumb can you get!?"

"I didn't know it was him, okay!?" Sirius huffed furiously and then quickened his pace to go toward the girls.

"What's wrong?" Jenna asked when the boys reached them.

"Sirius lost our Map!" James said loudly.

"What Map?" Marlene asked, but she was simply ignored.

"It wasn't my fault!" Sirius protested. "I thought I was being pranked again!"

"Technically speaking," Remus started, "that still makes it your fault."

"Whose side are you on, Moony!?" Sirius snapped at him.

"The side of the person who didn't lose us the Map," Remus said cheekily.

"Now is not the time to be sassy, Lupin!" Sirius said sharply. "You know what? Come to think of it, it was Jenna's fault!"

"Excuse me?" Jenna folded her arms.

"It all started when you had the stupid idea of turning yourself into Filch!" said Sirius angrily.

"Okay, can you just tell me what the bloody hell you did?" she asked with authority, looking up at him.

"We were walking down the corridor after dropping ten Dongbombs outside Slytherins' common room," Sirius explained, "and then we came along Filch on our way."

        "And...?"

"W-well, you had once turned yourself into Filch and after that, I was always kinda paranoid whenever I saw Filch, thinking that it was you... and today I hadn't seen you all day and — and I thought Filch was actually you."

"Oh, Sirius..." Jenna grinned. "What did you do?"

Sirius gulped. "I went and pinched his cheek."

By those words, everyone burst out laughing, rolling around as Sirius just glared at them as they roared with laughter for several minutes.

"That's not the worst part," Sirius went on, going pale on the face.

They all fell silent and looked back at him in confusion. "Then what was the worst part?" Marlene questioned.

Sirius gulped, looking traumatized. "I'm not talking about the cheek on his face."

They all roared in laughter, holding their stomachs as their eyes filled up with tears.

"Then what happened to the Map?" Lily asked after their laughter finally faded away.

Apparently, James had already told Lily about the Marauders' Map. Although Marlene still looked confused but Alice seemed to be completely unbothered about the whole situation as she admired Jenna's hair which she had designed with white little daisies.

"Well, when I did that, Filch got real angry. Like... he started getting red and looked like he was about to murder me." Sirius shuddered at the thought. "Not even Jenna's that good of an actor to be able to fake that kind of rage... so I took a step back and took out the Map to check and — and saw that it was actually Filch."

"Uh oh..." said Jenna, holding back a snort. "What happened next?"

"I think he was reaching out to strangle me," said Sirius with a grimace, "and when I tried to make a run for it, he only got a hold of the Map and I had to let go. Although a second before he had leaped forward I got to say Mischief Managed. I don't think he realized what the parchment actually was... but I'm pretty sure he'll never let us touch it ever again."

James turned to glare at him. "And which part of that wasn't your fault, exactly!?"

"The part that I didn't know that he was actually Filch!" Sirius snapped back.

Jenna grinned behind them. "I'm never letting the Filch joke go. And that's a promise."
