I spent my summer with the Inkwood's again.

We didn't do much over the break. Luna spent some time at Wren's house, too, but we barely left it. I still had nightmares every other night, reminding me of that awful night in the ministry way too many times.

They both understood; I really didn't think I could have asked for a better company during this time. I was beyond grateful to both of them.

And I was starting to feel better now, ready to get back to Hogwarts and get my mind off of things, instead of moping around in sweatpants and a jumper all day.

Of course, we ended up almost missing the Hogwarts Express completely. It wasn't news that Wren's family was absolutely lovely, though they didn't have a sense for time management at all.

That's why we kissed the idea of our own compartment goodbye right away, instead searching for a space in the carriages, and ending up at a table with Blaise and Draco.

A few hours in, Wren's loud laughter echoed through the whole carriage, making a few of the other students turn around irritated, shooting us dirty glares and mumbling to each other.

"Merlin, Inkwood, can you just take it down, like, ten notches?" Parkinson hissed, her head snapping in our direction with an annoyed look on her face. The brunette was sat on the neighbouring table to our right; sharing it with Crabbe and Goyle.

Amused, I rolled my eyes, scoffing at her reaction but not saying anything in return.

"Merlin, Parkinson," Wren mocked her, mimicking her facial expression and body language as she did so. "Why don't you just go back to enjoying your stimulating conversation with dumb and dumber?" She asked sarcastically before shooting both Crabbe and Goyle a quick look. "No offence," She clarified, though there was definitely some taken.

"You're feisty today," The blonde next to me noticed, raising an eyebrow as he looked at her. "Anything to do with your better half not being here?" A smirk formed on his face as the words left his mouth, a challenging tone in his voice.

She scoffed, and I watched, amused, as she tried to act like she didn't even care. "No," She said. "I'm perfectly capable of spending time without my girlfriend, thank you very much," Her brows were furrowed slightly as she spoke.

"Please," Blaise chimed in, his eyebrows raised, and a smile on his lips. "I'm surprised you're not helping her handing out that weird newspaper of hers yourself."

Wren's head shot in his direction, a threatening expression forming on her face. "I dare you to call it that again, Zabini," She mumbled, glaring right at him. He swallowed thickly, leaning back in his chair slightly; the sight making me huff in amusement.

"Guys, please," I intervened once I realised Blaise was actually about to repeat his words. "Let's not bully Wren for being in love." A sigh escaped my lips as I remembered the conversation Draco and I had.

He didn't tell me he loved me, of course. Though, hearing a Malfoy say "I care about you," and genuinely mean it must account for something.

He and I haven't spoken about what happened since. We didn't avoid each other, and we spent time with each other like we always had, but then it was break. And it just didn't come up again.

Wren nodded vigorously in agreement before looking at me with a smirk forming on her lips.

"You'd know all about that, wouldn't you, Y/n?" She teased, resulting in a rather harsh kick to her shin. "Ouch," She yelped, though the smirk was right back on her face when she looked back and forth between Draco and me, her eyebrows raised.

I made the fatal mistake of telling Wren about mine and Draco's conversation that night, and she hasn't stopped teasing me about it since.

I watched as Blaise furrowed his brows at her comment, his eyes darting back and forth between the blonde and me as well before he shifted awkwardly in his seat.

Before he could question her comment, and before I could insult her for it, the carriage suddenly filled with black smoke; students coughing and swearing about what was happening.

I waved my hand up and down in front of my face, trying to get the smoke to clear so I could breathe properly again.

"Who's that?!" I heard Draco ask, a hint of alertness in his voice as he shot up from his seat.

"Relax," Wren groaned annoyed, the dark cloud beginning to clear out slowly. "What are you planning on doing? Beat up one of the first years for a bad prank?" She asked, confused when she noticed him standing in the middle of the aisle. I asked myself the same thing.

He always had a thing for dramatics, just like Harry did.

"Just sit down, Draco, we'll be at Hogwarts soon," I said, patting on the seat next to me he had occupied until a few moments ago.

"I'm surprised my mum came along on the idea of me going back at all this year," Wren said, her eyes roaming the carriage before getting stuck on the window to her right.

While Wren was rambling about her mum, and how crazy she had been acting the past few weeks leading up to the start of term, my eyes wandered over to look at Draco.

He seemed tense, like there were too many things on his mind all at once. His eyes wandered to the storage space on top of us, suspiciously eyeing the luggage on top of it.

"Are you alright?" I asked, leaning in a little closer in order to not disturb Wren in her storytelling. His head snapped in my direction in an instance, brows furrowed as if he never heard the words 'Are you alright?' before.

"What?" He asked, confused by the question.

"I asked, are you alri-"

"-Yes," He replied before I could even finish my sentence, making me furrow my brows. That was a little too quick. "Of course I am. All this talk about Hogwarts- Let's just say I don't see myself wasting my time in charms class next year," He shook his head slightly as he spoke, his eyes suddenly darting back onto the object laying on top of the storage space.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I inquired, my brows furrowed, and his eyes snapping back to look right in mine.

He thought for a moment but then decided it to be better not to say anything about the topic anymore. "Stay behind with me for a little once we arrive, will you?" He asked instead, a faint smirk forming on his lips, and an eyebrow quirked.

I sighed but shrugged after a few seconds of consideration. "Sure."

✧·゚: *✧·゚:*✧

His lips were hungrily moving against mine, one hand on my hip, while the other held my face. A stifled groan escaping my mouth as he began nibbling on my bottom lip, a smirk growing on his face at the sound.

He pulled away to look at me, to admire my reddened lips, my flushed cheeks, and the way I was backed up against the corner of the seat. My back was resting against the window. Fortunately, it had the blinds closed this time.

And then his lips found themselves on my neck, sucking gently at the skin and making my head fall back against the cold glass of the window. "I missed you," He mumbled in between kisses, his hot breath against my skin making me squirm. "Fuck, I missed you," He repeated, his breath just as heavy as mine was, as his grey eyes met mine again.

His hand moved from my hips up to my neck, playing with the ring that was dangling from his necklace. He was trying to catch his breath, taking deep breaths while his hair was messily hanging in front of his face. It looked better that way, in my opinion, anyway.

"I meant what I said before break," He suddenly said. "I really did."

A smirk formed on my lips and my eyes wandered up and down his body once. "Good," I whispered before pulling him towards me by his tie; his lips crashing onto mine again.

My eyes were closed, enjoying the way my body reacted to his touch; how my stomach was turning, how my face heated up, when a loud rumbling noise made them snap open, and my hands instinctively pushed Draco a few inches away from me.

I thought I was hallucinating at first when I saw Harry standing right behind him, eyes wide, and a disgusted look on his face.

"What the fuck?" I heard myself say, sitting up straight and noticing Draco turn around with a victorious smile on his lips. My brother didn't say anything. He just stood there, his body so still you could almost think somebody petrified him. "You fucking creep."

Once I realised he was actually standing there, actually looking right at us, watching us for god knows how long, something within me snapped. I squeezed past Draco, who was already stood up, and my hand slapped across Harry's face. Not too hard, but hard enough for him to know how mad I was.

The impact made him speak, too, muttering various variations of "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-" and whatever else he could think of. What was he even doing here?

Without another word I grabbed my coat and hurried out of the train, leaving the both of them behind while mumbling all kinds of insults so I wouldn't have to think about how embarrassing the whole situation actually was.

Just minutes later, the blonde was by my side again, hurrying after me, and trying to keep up with my fast pace. "You knew he was there, didn't you?" I managed to say while we walked alongside each other to the castle.

We missed the carriages to get back there, which didn't make the situation any more pleasant.

"In my defence, I did kind of forget after, like, a minute," He admitted, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "You know, believe it or not, I'm not a big fan of the thought of your brother seeing all that, either."

"Ew," I muttered, groaning at the thought once more. "That doesn't make it much better," I scoffed.

"You still like me, though," He teased, nudging my side with his elbow, a wide grin on his face.

"Shut up."
