"Have you heard from her?"

"I'm sorry, are you talking to me?" Brows furrowed, I peeked over the edges of the book my head was buried in a moment ago.

The dorm was emptier than usual; Merlin knows where Daphne and Millicent were. But their absence left me alone with no other than Pansy Parkinson.

She rolled her eyes with a loud sigh before nodding slightly, her head still resting in her palms while the rest of her body was sprawled across her bed.

"Don't think there's anyone else here to talk to," She grumbled, her eyes dragging away from the bed next to mine to land on me for the first time. I lowered my book at the snarky comment, one eyebrow quirked before a smirk formed on my face.

"That depends on your mental state, Parkinson. And I'm not quite sure how sane you are," I shrugged, though closed my book and put it on my nightstand next to me. My expression urged her to keep on talking, seeing as there surely was something she wanted.

"Have you heard from her?" She repeated her original question, attention drifting off me and back onto Wren's empty bed. "From Inkwood, I mean."

"Oh," A gust of air escaped my lips at the unexpected inquiry, eyes darting back and forth between the girl and the empty bed next to mine.

When she noticed I hesitated, she quickly shook her head dismissively, letting it fall out of her hands and onto the bed before turning to lay on her back.

"Merlin, this is stupid. Never mind—"

"I have," I quickly interrupted before she could go on. "No need to—"

"I'm not... worried—or whatever else you were about to say," She spat, heaving her upper body off the mattress to send me a quick glare.

"No, of course not," I snickered. "You're only the one who smuggled her a love potion, after all." I couldn't help but crack a smile as the words left my mouth, which only made her narrow her eyes further as she propped herself on her elbows to look at me.

"Shut up," She seethed through gritted teeth, letting herself fall back onto the bed.

"I mean, a few years earlier and it would've been Draco, so—" I continued, the smirk on my face deepening as I watched her cheeks redden.

Out of reflex, she grabbed the pillow from her bed and forcefully threw it my way while continuously shouting multiple variations of "Shut up."

Though, her frantic expression, red cheeks and messy hair only made a loud laugh escape my lips as I caught the pillow she threw at me. Which, in return, only made her yell louder.

Though, when I continued teasing her, and a sharp "Do you ever just the fuck up, Y/n?!" left her lips, not even Pansy Parkinson could keep her mouth from twitching into a smile, even if it was just for a mere second.

As soon as she realised, she replaced it with a frown, but the damage was done. And for some reason, the fact that she was trying to hide her smile only made me laugh louder.

And despite all her efforts; quivering lip as she tried to hold her laughter in, a loud laugh rumbled through her chest soon after.

It took both of us a while to calm down again. Honestly, at this point, I wasn't quite sure what we were laughing about.

The sound of her laughter filling the room made me notice that this was truthfully the first time I had heard her actually, genuinely laugh in my presence—a loud, careless belly-laugh.

We both took a deep breath and inhaled just as loudly at the same time, slowly but surely calming down as we both laid on our beds, eyes steadied on the ceiling.

"About Draco—" She began, though her thoughts trailed off as soon as the name left her mouth. "Like, the way I was acting like a total bitch when you first—"

This time it wasn't Pansy interrupting herself but instead a loud knock on the door that did it for her. She seemed relieved; meanwhile, I couldn't help but grow frustrated.

I knew I was being robbed from Pansy Parkinson apologising to me; a sight that, recently, has become rarer than Draco Malfoy doing the same thing.

And before we could ask whoever was stood in front of the door to come in, Blaise burst into the room as if it was the most normal thing.

I was about to scold him for it, though the amused demeanour in his expression had me change my mind, and instead, I just quirked a brow at him.

Yet, as he scanned the room carefully, his dark brows quickly furrowed; the amusement turning into confusion as his eyes darted back and forth between Pansy and me.

"I thought I just witnessed the most bizarre thing in the common room, and then I walk into this?" He muttered, more to himself rather than to us as his hand rubbed over his short hair, contemplating the sight.

He quickly snapped out of his state, probably remembering why he came here in the first place. "Whatever. I'm not going to ask how you two haven't killed each other yet," He informed, throwing both of us another inquiring look before shaking his head quickly and then turning towards me.

"Now, Y/n," He said, a laugh already threatening to escape his mouth. "There was this loud thud echoing through the common room out of nowhere, and we all weren't quite sure what it was at first. You two should've seen Draco's face when he opened the wall out of the common room and was looking right at a second-year Gryffindor," He explained, a low laugh here and there disrupting the flow of his seemingly hilarious story. "And the look on the boys face. He was terrified, truly. And it got ten times worse when he realised it was Draco he was looking at. Merlin, you two should've been there—" He laughed.

And, though the thought was rather amusing, I wasn't quite sure why he came all the way here just to tell us. "Anyway," He breathed out. "He is here for you; the Gryffindor. Said it was urgent, or whatever."

The boy practically ran down the corridor, not sparing me a second glance after muttering a quiet "Hello," once I stood in front of him.

The last thing he said before breaking out into a sprint was "Neville sent me." It was also the only reason I was currently sprinting after him.

Well, it was more of a jog, seeing as I was almost twice his size.

I wasn't surprised that he had led me to the room of requirements; I didn't expect him to bring me into the Gryffindor common room, after all. I was pretty sure that most houses spent most of their time in the come and go room, anyway.

I didn't have much time to take the room in once the door opened. All I could tell right away was that the size was at least triple what it was like when Neville first showed me. And, naturally, the number of students had tripled, too.

When my eyes almost frantically searched the room for Neville, knowing that he was most likely the only person who wanted me here, they suddenly fell on someone completely different.

Someone I didn't expect to see here at all.

And someone I was just talking about twenty minutes ago.

"Wren?!" I gasped, seeing her casually sit on one of the trunks scattered around the room, Luna on her lap, and seemingly in a pleasant conversation with some other Ravenclaws.

When she heard my voice echo through the room, she turned around in a heartbeat, and both Luna and she stood up. We were about to rush towards each other - I had already taken a step forward - when a dull thump caught my attention.

My gaze flew through the room, landing on the picture that hung in the middle of the wall, though was being swung open right this second.

"Hey, listen up you lot!" Neville said, casually standing in a tunnel that was hidden behind the painting. I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to know where it led. "Brought you a surprise."

I didn't realise it, my attention completely on Neville, but Wren and Luna had still made their way over to me, and I startled slightly when my best friend threw her arms around me like it was the last thing she was planning on doing.

My attention diverted off of Neville and onto her, returning her gesture with a loud sigh. When I went to greet Luna, she immediately tightened her grip around me and pulled me closer for a moment before letting go completely.

"Seeing as we didn't really get the chance to last time," She explained quickly, scratching the back of her neck with a slight smile on her lips.

I huffed in amusement as I gave Luna a tight hug as well.

And when I turned back to see what Neville's surprise was, I almost forgot how to breathe entirely at how unexpected the sight was.

The students around us had stood up, clapping and gasping in awe at the sight of no other than Harry James Potter.

I quickly shoved through the crowd, not really caring how much more they were going to dislike me with my elbow in their ribs. It couldn't get much worse than it already was, so I really didn't have anything to lose.

My brother noticed me before I could get all the way to the front, and he quickly hurried towards me, the few students between us stepping out of his way before he, too, embraced me in a tight hug.

He sighed in relieve once I returned the gesture. "How dare you, Y/n Lily Potter," He huffed, shaking his head furiously. "Once we have the time for it we're going to have a serious conversation about priorities, alright?" His voice carried a hint of sarcasm with it, but I'm sure every fibre of his being wanted nothing more than to scold me for staying in Malfoy Manor a month ago.

I couldn't blame him, but I knew I had my reasons. And, eventually, it had all turned out fine.

He was here now, and so was I.

When he went on to exchange quick hugs and hello's with the rest of his friends, I hurried back to get to Luna and Wren just as Neville spoke again.

"What's the plan, Harry?"

He was quiet for a moment, examining the circle of students that had formed around him. He nodded to himself before speaking.

"Okay," He began. "There's something we need to find— Something hidden here in the castle. And it may help us defeat You-Know-Who," He explained.

That made my eyebrows raise instantly, remembering Dumbledore's memory. I'd have to speak to Harry about it sooner rather than later.

Surely, when Dumbledore said I shouldn't tell anyone about it, that excluded Harry? After all, he and I were supposed to defeat Voldemort together.

"Right," Neville nodded in agreement. "What is it?"

"We don't know."

"Where is it?" Neville asked again, Harry's unknowing not affecting his apparent excitement.

"We don't know that either," My brother stated, and now even Neville's posture deflated slightly. "I realise that's not much to go on—"

"—That's nothing to go on," Seamus interrupted.

"I think it has something to do with Ravenclaw," Harry began, itching his nose like he always did when he was nervous. He looked around the room once, and I, too, threw a quick look at Luna. She was intently listening to his words, a hint of a smile on her lips. "Uh— it'll be small, easily concealed... Anyone any ideas?" He asked into the group of students looking quite clueless.

"Well, there's Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem," Luna suddenly spoke up, her voice soft and an inquiring look on her face. When nobody said anything, her eyes started searching the room for a reaction, brows furrowing slightly. "Lost diadem of Ravenclaw? Has nobody ever heard of it?" She wondered, and Wren slipped her hand in hers for reassurance. "It's quite famous," She added, her voice carrying a hint of confusion in it.

Another Ravenclaw quickly informed Luna and the rest of us that there wasn't a person alive who had seen it, and a few of the other students nodded at the piece of information.

Though, Wren just shot them all glares as the grip on Luna's hand tightened a little.

After Ron had been updated on what a 'bloody diadem' was, the explanation was cut short by the sound of the door closing forcefully.

"Harry," A soft voice acknowledged, my eyes wandering over the group of students and landing on Ginny. I hadn't seen her in so long, seeing as she was a year below us and I didn't have classes with her.

Her hair had grown longer since I last saw her, and I made a mental note to compliment her on it the next time I had the time to.

"Hi there," Harry breathed out, eyes a little wider than usual as they just stared at each other from across the room.

Ron snickered in the background, and I had to stifle a laugh at his attitude. "Six months she hasn't seen me, and it's like I'm Frankie first year," He complained to Hermione. "At least Harry greeted his sister first," He mumbled.

"What is it, Ginny?" Neville quickly addressed the elephant in the room, snapping the two out of their eye contact. Ginny shook her head slightly before turning her attention to Neville.

"Snape knows. He knows that Harry was spotted in Hogsmeade."
