'Memories'

Y/n: I was just a kid when my father took me and my pregnant mother to an island far from the Marines eyes. He then kneeled down to my height and ruffled my hair, teasing me while laughing but then telling me to watch over my mother before giving me a huge treasure chest.

Roger: "Y/n, my little princess. What's in this chest is for you alone, I want you to eat it once you see the ship fade away, train hard to become strong to protect yourself, and those you love understand." He asked while Y/n giggled lovingly up at him and hugged him tightly.

Y/n: "I love you, Daddy, and I promise." She said with a smile on her face til her eyes were covered up by her father's pirate captain's hat. "Hey!" She shouted out while looking over her dad's shoulder to see her older brothers and shipmates: Shanks & Buggy. "Big brothers, are they staying to Daddy?" She asked while Roger shook his head. "Ah, no fair, well then, Mommy and me will be waiting for you to return to us." She said while her father hugged her close to his heart.

Roger: "I love you, your mother, and your future sibling so much, and remember, no matter what people will say about me, at least you know the truth." He said seriously before moving back to put a kiss onto her forehead. "Be strong, be brave, and untamed like the wild seas, Gol D Y/n." He said while standing up to hold his lover close as Y/n was showing Shanks, and Buggy her new treasure smiling widely.

Y/n sat on the dock of the island, watching as her father's ship faded off into the distance and opened up the treasure chest beside her to see two huge cutlass blades, a copy of her father's pirate coat, and a shiny platinum fruit with an image of various treasure on it even the stem resembled a gold piece.

Y/n: Looked at the rolling waves of the sea before her as she took the fruit from the chest as she put her dad's pirate hat into the chest for now to keep it safe. "I'll make you proud, dad, Shanks, Buggy, Uncle Ray, everyone..." She whispered before biting into the fruit and kept eating it until nothing was left of it even as she felt sick and her body wanted to throw up the fruit it couldn't.

A few days went by until Y/n woke up to hear her mom crying over a newspaper, and her e/c eyes widened in disbelief at the headline: Gol D Roger the Pirate King is Dead. After that, months went by with Y/n helping her mother with things around the house till a familiar and old man came to their home.

Y/n: "Gramps." She said before hearing her mother cry out in pain, then after hours of waiting, Y/n held her newborn baby brother Gol D Ace in her arms on a ship with her adopted grandfather going to a new island.

Y/n was an orphan now without her father and mother alive, but she had Gramps at least as well Ace who was sleeping in gramps arms.

Y/n: "Gramps, where are we going?" She questioned before getting a soft head pat and an answer.... home I held the last few items I had from my father and mother in the huge treasure chest my father gave me before determination filled my entire body. "I'm going to get stronger than ever to accomplish my promise. No one will ever harm those I love again!" She shouted with a solidified vow in her heart, not noticing tear shaped aquamarine drop into the ocean below from her eyes.
