Chapter 23 (Pt. 3)

Playlist  - Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding

Luna

"Moonlight, wake up."

Air rushed in and out of my lungs, and I felt warm all the way up to my head. I blinked open my eyes to the soft moonlit room. It was still dark and my thoughts were fuzzy from a sleepy haze.

I didn't know whether I was dreaming about my arms being pinned to a cloud-like surface and my legs spread  wide in a straddle, but I sure well knew the aching pleasure I felt inside my warm heat wasn't something that could be dreamt of.

A very familiar body was holding me down. He was thrusting deep inside me, rocking my hips mercilessly and saying things I couldn’t process. His natural scent of wood and lavender engulfed my senses.

Oh, Ares.

“Baby, you're finally awake. Now you can feel me deep.” Ares’ warm breath wafted over my face. “Fuck yeah, wrap me up tight. Look into my eyes when I take you nice and slow.”

My breath caught as the pleasure settled deep within my core. Even in the midst of drowsiness, Ares knew how to drive me to the brink of intoxication.

I tossed my head back and forth as he pounded deep strokes inside me. I felt my walls clenched tightly around Ares and I climaxed, bellowing his name.

He still held me in place as he planted himself deep. My hands came to rest at his shoulders as he covered me like a massive sweaty blanket.

I didn’t know whether it was a figment of my imagination when I faintly heard him whisper I am sorry, before I drifted back to sleep with him still inside me.

He was sorry? Why?

                                  ***

I’m sorry.

Ares’ broken apology played like a nonstop record in my head. I still wasn’t sure if he actually spoke those words to me. I decided to stop dwelling upon something which could be nothing more than my imagination and focus on the present.

“This way.” The hostess motioned me to follow her as she led the way to my reserved table. “Your company is already seated.” Technically, I wasn’t the one to reserve a table in this beautiful french restaurant.

“Luna!” Her cheerful voice caught my attention. “It's so good to see you.” I waved at her as we neared the table. I was engulfed in a tight hug and I laughed off her excitement.

“Charlotte, hello to you too.” I smiled warmly at her. “You look stunning and what did you do to your hair.” The last part came out as a surprise, because she had dyed her hair pitch black.

“Do you like it?” She combed her hands to her waist length hair. “I have extension in as well. I think it makes me look more sophisticated.”

I nodded, not commenting further. Her hair looked fine alright, but it definitely was a bold decision on her part. Charlotte’ brown locks really matched well with her slightly tanned skin tone and the new hair made her look more gothic.

“And I have these too.” She fished out a pair black chanel glasses. “How do I look?” She pouted, flaunting her new look.

I laughed, shaking my head. “You look pretty.” Her new look strangely reminded me of someone, but I couldn’t put a finger on it.

We ordered from an extensive number of choices in the menu. I couldn't even spell half of the names of the dishes. The only one that seemed familiar to me was Coq Au Vin so I ordered it for myself.

We couldn't settle to drink wine because we were still underage. What a bummer.

“So,” Charlotte began. “I have very exciting news to share.”

“Oh, tell me.” I matched her excitement.

“I'm getting engaged. Next week,” she gushed.

My smile wavered, slightly at her words, but I somehow kept up the pretence. “Oh.” It was all I managed to utter. “With Chase?” I asked, hoping that maybe she wasn't going to be engaged to him.

“Uh-huh,” she clarified, nodding. “Our fathers agreed on it. It was a good business decision.”

“You're okay with getting yourself into a loveless marriage?” I asked, thoughtful. I couldn't dream about being with a loveless-anything, let alone a marriage.

She laughed but it sounded like a superficial laugh to my ears as if she couldn't believe how stupid my question was. “What’s love got to do with anything? It brings you pain, insecurity and insanity.”

“But when the person you love, loves you back then it's the best feeling in the whole world.”

“Well, that's rich.” Her chin came to rest on her fisted hand. “Love has no place in marriage. People marrying for love are fools. I pity them because you always fall in love with a person’s exterior. They always show their true persona someday.”

“Isn't marriage about loving your partners imperfections as well? Your notion doesn't sit well with me.”

Charlotte barely retains her gasp. “I beg to differ. Everyone confuses love with lust. It's a facade. You can never love anyone truly than yourself.”

“I wasn’t prepared to hear these words from you,” I said, honestly.

“There’s a lot you don't know… about love.” She seemed to have added the last part to the sentence. “Anyway, I am cordially inviting you to my engagement party. You need to wear something red.”

“Why red?”

“It’s my theme, duh.”

The waiter approached with our order and I salivated at the sight of it. I felt massively hungry this morning because Ares had tired me out with his intense love making last night.

Last night still felt surreal to me. The realisation that Ares loved me and made love to me last night hasn't still kicked in. Memories of him made me blush furiously.

I felt terrible for leaving him alone after spending the night getting my brains screwed by my boyfriend. He had so much energy in him. I was constantly woken up in the middle of the night with his ferocious thrusts.

He looked so calm earlier this morning, I didn't have the heart to wake him. When Charlotte texted me saying she was back from her trio and wanted to meet up with me, I had no choice but to leave without waking Ares from his slumber.

Charlotte paused from chewing her food and looked at me, her red lips pursed tight to swallow her food. “One moment.” She raised her finger up. “So where was I…?

“You were talking about authentic macarons,” I said.

“Oh, yeah. Skip that crap,” she dismissed the topic. “I had this strange question in my head, constantly bugging me. Should I ask?”

“Go ahead,” I muttered.

“I am not sure, but is there anything going on between you and my brother?” Her question suggests that she doesn’t know herself or is very keen to know about her brother's love life.

I tilted my head, unsure whether I should divulge anything to her. I was not ready for answering anyone's questions yet, because Ares and I had been on such a crazy roller coaster ride. I don't want to flaunt my newly stable relationship to anyone yet.

If Ares decided to tell her anything on his own, then it's choice. I won’t tell anyone.

“Uhm… there's nothing much to tell.”

Charlotte leaned back in her seat, crossed her arms and flashed me a smug look. “Why do I have a feeling that you're not telling me everything.”

I bit my lip, heat rushing to my face as Ares’s deep grunts played in my head over and over. It was too weird to discuss intimate details of us to Charlotte, even if she's his sister.

“Aren't you a curious little sister? It's actually not a good time to talk about my relationships, when you're the one getting engaged next week.” I made a pitiful attempt to divert the focus of our conversation back to her.

“Very well. I see what you're doing.”

My lips curled, slyly. “It's working?” I laughed. “No, really. Tell me more. Where's the venue?”

“It will take place at Henry mansion. A lot of debutantes of elite social networks will be dressing to impress. I kinda hate them.”

Oh. “Why?”

“Because they believe they're unreasonably superior and people like us are dirt beneath their red bottoms.”

“You're soon going to join that club of superiority.” Charlotte looked at me surprised, she didn't expect me to be straightforward.

“Huh,” she chuckled, but I could tell it wasn't genuine. “I'll have to change the rules.”

There's a beat of silence between us which isn't all that comfortable. I take a swig of my mocktail, averting my eyes.

“Do you judge me?” Charlotte asked. My eyebrow rose questioningly. “You know… because I have a different notion of love.”

“Not really,” I said, setting the glass down. “I've come to the terms that everyone has a different perspective on different aspects.”

“Have you ever been in love?” I shifted in my seat, not appreciating her tone. It seemed almost challenging. “C'mon, tell me,” she pressed.

“I don't want to discuss this just yet.” I gave her a sheepish smile. “When the time is right then I'll tell.”

“Never mind. I think I know the answer.”

                                        ***
I decided to walk home after meeting Charlotte for lunch. I was relieved when she got a phone call which stated that her presence was needed for an urgent dress fitting.

Somehow, I felt maybe, Charlotte had in a lot of ways and not just in her appearance. She was a very meek, simple girl when first met her, but now there was a streak of arrogance looming beneath her.

I didn't understand why she was so hellbent to discover facts about my love life. I stared blankly down at the pavement, trying to figure out what was up with her.

Lost in my thoughts, I stepped into the road, only to be honked at by a BMW. It slowed down and stopped a few feet before me. The driver’s door opened, revealing a very distraught looking Ares.

“You must have a good explanation of your sudden departure?” He stormed towards me. “I woke up alone on my bed, hoping to find you sleeping right beside me, but you were gone.”

He reached over, clasping my hand in his large ones. Without giving me a chance to speak, he crashed his lips on mine, daring me to pull away from him.

His kiss is urgent, possessive and extremely hot. I bet, onlookers must be enjoying our little show. My hands traveled from his chest to his broad shoulders and finally came to rest at his nape.

I was released momentarily to breathe air into my lungs.I’m hypnotised by him, my heart skipped a beat when I noticed his breathtaking face drenched in distress.

“Hey,” I paused, thinking how best to calm his beating heart down. “I went to meet your sister for lunch.” I combed my fingers to his messy hair. “I didn’t want to disturb you.”

His warm hands cupped my cheeks, he appeared flustered somehow. “I thought…” he paused as if he couldn't bring himself to finish the thought. “I always assume the worst. I don't even…”

“It’s alright, baby,” I reassured him, giving him a bright smile. “It was coming back to you.”

He had held me so tightly against his body, trying to bring me even closer to him, morphing us together.

“Let's go back to my place.” His lips gently brushed over mine, sinking into a beautiful kiss. “Then I'll take you out, wherever you'd like to go.”

“That's a tempting offer, but I have to take a rain check. I have assignments to write.”

“Luna-” I silenced him by placing my index finger on his swollen lips.

“I'll text you when I am done, then you can come over at my place,” I offered. “Will that be okay?” I didn’t allow him to disagree with me; instead, I showered him with tiny kisses.

“Yeah, it works for me,” he grumbled and I swooned at his adorable pursed lips.

                                        ***

Time went by slower than a sloth. Fortunately, I was done sooner than anticipated. I relaxed back in my seat, letting out a big exhale.

“Oh, mighty Lord,” I mumbled, exhaustion taking hold of my body. I felt my eyes drooping and brain retiring.

You belong to me. I command your body and soul.

Memories of last night flooded my head. I felt all the heat rushing to my face at the thought of his words. I couldn't shake the feeling of his tight grip on my hips, pulling me into him.

My thumb lingered over Ares’s number on my phone's screen, contemplating whether I should tease him or tell him to come over.

“Luna, baby.” He answered on the first ring. “You’re really testing my patience here. No texts or phone calls? I should've taken you home with me.”

“Show up here in five.” I ended the call, giggling a little. There's no way he could get himself over to my place within five minutes.

Suddenly, my doorbell rang, I jumped up from my couch at the sound of it. Ares couldn't show up that quickly. Unless, he was waiting right outside my door.

Opening the door in my sleep shorts and a duckies printed t-shirt, I stood face to face with Ares. He really was waiting outside for me.

I crossed my arms over my chest, not wanting to appear fazed by his presence. He looked like my steamy, wet dream. Every hair on my body raised under his piercing green eyes which had seized my heart.

“Are you going to invite me in or continue eye-fucking me?  He chuckled, the sound quiet spreading like a whispering over my skin.

I backed away from the door, a wicked idea popped up to me. He noticed my movements and an evil laugh left his mouth.

“You’re going to make me chase around the house, Luna?” My name had never sounded so good coming from his mouth. “You'll be pinned down within seconds.”

I curled a finger in his direction, beckoning for him to come to me. “I am a runner,” I giggled. He took long, fast strides in my direction and ran away from him.

True to his words, he had captured me within a few minutes. I slapped his hold away, playfully protesting my defeat.

I was pushed to the door of my aunt's study. Ares pressed his forehead against mine, his breath coming fast and hot against my lips.

“You’re in an awfully playful mood.” He pulled me impossibly closer. “Behaving naughty as usual.” I gasped, when his hand swatted my butt.

“Are you going to punish me?” I challenged him.

“I will, but not before I take you right here.”

With a hungry growl, his lips captured my own, his teeth biting at my lips hard enough to draw a gasp from my chest. He took advantage of my open mouth, his tongue surging inside to tangle with mine.

I returned his aggression, my fingernails sinking into his nape as I pulled him closer, demanding more savage passion.

I had enjoyed his attention last night and even now, I loved every second of his passionate kisses and the way he took ownership of my body.

“I love you,” I panted when he pulled back just enough to allow me to draw breath. “I love you, I've loved you since the first time I fell into that pool with you. You're my heart.”

His hands curved into my hips, forcing me against his erection. I moaned into his mouth as lust washed through me. He was everything I'd ever wanted from life. I never wanted to stay away from him.

“Luna, I never realized that my life had a void in it before you decided to make my heart yours. My heart answers to you alone. You're it's master and I am at your mercy.”

His cock was hard, pressing into my belly. I rolled my hips in wanton abandon, stimulating him. Tempting him.His groaned turned me on without any bounds. I was already wet for him.

“Tell me you'll never leave me. Tell me you'll stay by my side even if the odds are against us.” He hands brushed away my hair from my face, caressing my face lovingly.

“I'll always stay with you,” I said, truthfully. “I won't leave your side even if our love is put on trial. I promise.”

“Forever by my side.” He bit my lip. “I want you to convince me that you won't leave me.”

I smiled then, sunk down on my knees.
