Chase's POV

Don't turn into Spike, don't turn into Spike. Please, please, please, don't turn into Spike.

I was in the lab trying to calm myself down after I found out what happened to Leo. How did I not notice Adam come in? How did I not notice Leo's battle cries or the plain disappearance sooner? I could've done something. I could've saved him.

"Chase?" Bree called out me snapping me out of my trance. I turned to her but didn't dare look her in the eye.

"Ya?" I mumbled.

"Bad news or good news?" She asked. I sighed and just shrugged.

"Bad," I said.

"Bad news is that all of Leo's signals are off," Bree sighed. "Good news is we can try to unlock a new ability and track down his bionic chip ourselves."

"And how on Earth would we do that?" I asked.

"I don't know," She shrugged. "Concentrate."

I closed my eyes. Concentrate on breathing. In, out, in out. Is Leo even breathing?

Is Leo even alive? Are they torturing him? Killing him this split second? I need to find him, I need to find him. But I can't. I don't have the ability. I'm helpless. Useless. I hate the feeling. Knowing he's probably out there and doing nothing about it. Ah!

I opened my eyes.

"Are you okay?" Bree asked. Zeeep. Leo is 300 miles away, North.

"I know where Leo is..."

Boom! Boom! Boom!

We were in.

Bree took hold of my hand as she sped into the building to the sound of voices. We came to the source of the sound and got in our fighting stances.

"Bree!" Leo cried happily. "Chase!"

"Bree," A man's voice hissed. "Chase."

I looked around the room with the heat detector. I saw something above us on a metal beam. It looked like a huge bird, big wings, man body. My eyes widened as he pounced for me.

I flipped backwards, still keeping an eye on him.

"We meet," the man hissed. "Face to face."

"We can take you," I said as Bree walked next to me.

"I'm not here to fight friends," bird man said. "Here to watch you fight."

"Shall I attack, Shadow?" Adam's voice said behind us.

"Go!" Shadow yelled and Adam knocked both Bree and I flat on our backs. We both stood up as quickly as possible and surged towards Adam.

"Adam snap out of it!" I yelled. I used my telekinesis to yank a metal pole from the ceiling and smash Adam into it. He lay pressed against the wall. "Adam c'mon!"

My telekinesis wasn't string enough and Adam broke free. His laser vision activated and I ducked as he aimed for my face. Bree wooshed past me as she tripped Adam onto the floor. She made strong, fast movements as she fought Adam trying to trip her as well.

"Adam!" She grunted. "Please!"

The mindless drone paid no attention to her and shot a laser at her, sending her a good ten feet away.

I regained my feet and jumped onto Adam's back. It might seem like a weird movement but I have a good reason for it.

"Bree!" I cried as I struggled to keep on Adam. "Try to tie him up!"

She sped around the room looking for a wire of some sort.

"Get off!" Adam yelled trying to get a grip on me. On hand of mine tried to keep his head as still as possible. The other held a neck brace I had unequipped from my belt. I tried to put it around Adam but he managed to fight me off. That was when Bree came in.

She caught Adam's attention giving me the perfect opportunity. It was on now I had to shut him off.

Before I could get to work, Adam yanked me off him back and send me soaring in the air. I hit a pole and was dazzled on the floor in an instance. I stood up wearily and backed up Bree who was desperately trying to get Adam's attention.

"Circle around him!" I told her and she did. It was not only to distract him but it was also for him to lose conciseness. You see her wind speeds reach an alarming speed for any human body. The being inside the- oh forget it you won't get my logic. Wind equals no breath? Got it?

My plan worked and Adam fell onto the floor from suffocation. He was alive, don't worry, just unconscious. I slid over to him and turned his chip off.

"You fools!" Shadow yelled. "Now pay the price."

Doors shut and bombs dropped. A putrid gas was send all around us.

"Chase! Bree!" Leo cried. "Run! Get out!"

"We can't leave you!" Bree cried. "And plus, there's no way out."

She was right for after the smell filled our lungs, Adam wasn't the only one unconscious anymore.
