"All I'm saying is he's my friend- and I hardly see him anymore!"

"Just because he's your friend doesn't mean you get to see him every single moment of every day!"

"I'm not asking for every single moment of every day! I'm asking for at least a goodbye before he leaves the house! Or- or just to stop by my room and say 'oh hey Beej,' when he comes around for you! Or at least to show up for band practice!"

I turned on my other side, pulling the other end of the pillow over my other ear. But I could still hear them bickering in one of their rooms.

"You act like I'm stealing him!"

"You are!"

"Well I could say the same about Blaze! She was my friend- you only know her cause of me-"

"-You only know Tre because of me!"

I'm thankful to live here, of course, but is this how Ollie gets woken up? Normally when I stopped over for a night or two before they didn't argue this bad.

"Not the point! You completely shoved me out the room when I was trying to see my best friend! You try to tell me I 'steal Tre' but you're just as bad!"

I didn't wanna move out of bed. I was feeling lazy and droopy. Lack of sleep. I was cold too, freezing actually.

"You can't flip this on me!" Billie shouted defensively.

"Fuck this," I heard her mumble, before I heard the door open. I turned over in bed and looked as Eden walked in effortlessly.

"Hey! I was gonna go in there!" Billie quickly said as I sat up in bed.

"Too bad, I'm in here now," she shrugged.

"I wanted to speak to my girlfriend,"

"Well I wanted to speak to my best friend, go ring Tre up or something." She scoffed, before she flung the door shut. I heard him grunt as she laughed slightly walking over to me.

She sat down on the side of the bed.

"What was that about?" I asked confused. Rubbing my eyes.

"Billie Joe says that apparently I take Tre away too much," She sighed. "But he does the exact same thing with you,"

"Billie doesn't take me away?"

"And I don't take Tre away! He's always focused on you- Billie that is- that Tre has free spaces to do things, and Billie could see him then if he realised. But he focuses on you so much he doesn't realise. So Tre likes to spend time with me. But because Tre doesn't give him one goodbye he gets arsey,"

I stared at her confused, the top corner of my lip up in a confused scowl. Before I shook my head and sighed. I dropped back, my head landing back on the pillow before I huffed. "You guys argue too much,"

"No! Blaze! This is serious- he said to me that he hardly sees Tre anymore and-"

"-Hey guys!" Billie exclaimed opening the door. He walked in with a laid back stroll, trying to show his confidence and cockiness.

"What are you doing in here?" Eden asked.

"Come to say hi to my girlfriend." He jumped on the other side of the bed beside me. The mattress bounced slightly as he crossed his legs. His hands behind his head as he acted causal. "So what we talking about?"

"Uhg!" Eden shouted, before getting up dramatically. "You're a real dick Billie! Hope you know that!" Then she left. Slamming the door slightly behind.

I couldn't blame her for being that way. I didn't have any siblings, but watching how Billie and Eden have been for the past five years. I am imagine it's very stressful trying to talk to your best friend and having your brother smugly walk in, only knowing his entrance will lead to your exit.

"That wasn't nice," I laughed slightly, leaning my head on Billie.

"What! She wasn't nice to me- do you know she said I steal you,"

"I heard, you said the same thing about her and Tre-"

"-Cause she does! I don't even get to see him anymore! Not even at school-"

"-Well Eden doesn't see me in school,"

He sighed. "I knew explaining this to you wasn't going to be easy,"

"No one said any of this would be easy. Dating your best friends sister and letting your sister date your best friend. It's a complicated situation- it's prone to be some what complicated,"

"Alright smart ass," He teased, nudging me with his arm. "So how did you sleep?"

"Well until you and Eden woke me up with your debate in the hallway,"

"Hmm, well get up." He told me, just before he jumped off the bed himself.

I looked over at him as he stood over it with his hands on his hips waiting for me to copy. I blinked a few times before asking. "Eh... why?"

"You told your mom you was gonna see her today,"

I grunted slightly. "I did,"

"Hey- she'll be in Rome soon spend the time wisely,"

"I'm use to her being away,"

"Yeah, for a few weeks. Not forever, now come on!" He held his hand out for me.

I let out a loud grunt, before harshly grabbing his hand as he yanked me up. I, nearly losing my balance completely. "And it's not forever," I added. "I'll see her again some time before she or I dies,"

I walked down the path of the house with Billie following behind me.

Noticing all the garden ornaments that have disappeared that normally sat on our front garden. Like the flamingo we had stuck in the lawn, the rocks that when I was younger my mom and I had decorated with paint and nail polish, and the flower pots with the flowers in I had let die.

"The lawn..." I mumbled, looking around standing in front of the front door. "It looks so..."

"So....?"

"...Naked,"

"I don't think lawns can be naked,"

I rolled my eyes looking away from Billie knocking on the door. We waited a moment in silence before we could hear her struggle with the lock.

The handle moved around for a second, jolting as the keys in the door were in the door. I knew one thing I wasn't gonna miss about this old place was the door. Ancient piece of shit.

Finally, she pulled it open. An exhausted look on her face. "I hate this door,"

"Don't we all," I agreed, walking inside as I heard Billies foot steps follow behind me.

The house was completely bare. Completely.

The furniture was gone. The tv stand and the tv was gone. The table was gone. The photos were gone. The little things my mom liked to keep on the fire place: gone.

"Where's everything?"

"The furniture van," She answered casually.

"Where do you sit?" I asked, looking around as I walked in the centre of the room. I spun around a few times getting a look at how huger it seemed with out everything in it.

"The table is still in the dining room,"

"What about cooking? What's going on with the oven? And the fridge? Where are you taking all the furniture if you're moving into an already completed home?"

"Well some has been sent to your grandma's, and the other things have gone to the tip. Like your bed frame and the-"

"-My bed!?"

"Blaze you don't even need it you don't live here anymore," I heard Billie laugh, he leaned on the door frame connecting the living room and the front door where the stair case was. His arms crossed casually as he stared over at me.

"So?"

"So... it was taking up space. I can't sell a house with a bed frame in silly," My mom laughed, walking out of the room.

I gave Billie a confused look, he stood back up straight shrugging as we followed her into the kitchen.

"So anyway, what do you think of your new home?" My mom smiled happily, as she jumped on to the counter sitting on it.

I walked over leaning on the space beside her, Billie standing beside me as I shrugged.

"I like it- pretty genius actually. I wondered why no one cared why I was leaving,"

"I did promise you it wasn't as bad as it seemed," Billie nudged me as he reminded me.

"It makes more sense now, but at that time I was upset no one cared,"

"Where did you think you would go?" My mom interrupted.

"Rome,"

"You thought I'd drag you to Rome? I'm not that bad- c'mon. It doesn't take a good mom to figure out you don't wanna leave your friends or your boyfriend," she teased slightly.

I rolled my eyes. Before she added.

"I'm only kidding, I know he's not your boyfriend dear lighten up," she extended out her hand and gave me a playful shove on my shoulder. I smiled slightly, only at the lie she had said unaware he actually now was my boyfriend.

Billie also looked at me, with a boyish smile for the same reason.

My mom must've seen and understood the glance because she began to question it. "Is there something I don't know?" She asked, her voice barley containing excitement.

I looked away from her, staring around at the empty kitchen. The breakfast bar which, use to have all the useless things pilled on it, empty. The stools were gone. There were only a few plates left on the draining board which had probably been recently washed.

"No ma'am," Billie replied, almost too quick.

"Blaze Joy?" She asked, gently pushing me again trying to get my attention.

I looked at her confused, trying to convince her I wasn't ignoring her and had zoned out or something. "Huh?" I asked, turning to look up at her.

"Is there something you want to tell me?"

"Uh... no? I don't- I don't think so," I nervously replied, scratching the back of my neck.

"Remember what I first asked you when I saw you Billie Joe?" She brought up.

He looked nervous. I loved it. Because no one ever got to see Billie nervous.

But my mom, as much as being young and beautiful, was powerful. She was intimidating with her bare blue eyes and she was ruthless when she wanted to be.

Of course, Billie hadn't seen that side of her, but there was plenty of times I had cried to Eden about her he over heard.

"Yes?"

"Which was...?"

He nervously dodged her eyes. "You asked me... If I was with your daughter-"

"-Is the answer the same?"

The smile of her face gave away she wasn't mad. I think she wanted to make him nervous a little bit but not completely scare him.

"Erm..." he looked at me, I shrugged just as awkwardly as he looked before he looked back at my mom. "I think so?"

"Huh? What do you mean you think!" I asked offensively.

"I'm sorry! Yes! That's what I meant-" he quickly changed, putting his hands up in defence. "-Jeez..."

"Really?" My moms tone of voice high.

I grunted. "Mom- shut up,"

"But-"

"-Please- stop. When are you leaving for Rome? How about we talk about that?"

"Alright fine," she agreed, but she crossed her arms over her chest clearly not happy about it. "On Tuesday,"

I did the quick calculations in my head, it was Sunday. That would mean she was leaving to go live in another country with Dave in two days.

So I would have that much time- along with having to attend school. Left. Obviously not forever.

But who knows when she's gonna bother visiting? I don't doubt she'll send me post cards and birthday and Christmas presents with 'I'm sorry I'm not a real mommy' money, but actually visiting? Coming all the way back home, on a plane, coming to see me for a special day to two?

I doubted it highly. And if she ever did, they wouldn't be frequent. I know that for sure.

I sighed, leaning my head on her arm. I didn't know if I was suppose to be upset. Cause I was bummed out, but not upset. I had this hole in my feelings where it should've been sadness. But- I was too use to it. "I hope you enjoy Rome with Dave," I said sincerely.
