"Billie! Stop ignoring me!" Eden sighed banging on his closed bedroom door.
There was no sign of life in the room as I watched her knock some more leaning on the wall, before she huffed and opened the door kicking it open.
"Billie stop being- oh..."
I followed her in looking around the room over her shoulder to see Billie wasn't even in here. We had been shouting him for ages.
"Where the hell is he?" I asked her.
she turned around squinting her eyes. "I thought he was in here?"
"Maybe he's in the car or something?"
"Why would he be in the car?"
"I don't know... waiting y'know? Maybe that's where he is,"
"Well let's hope so." Eden mumbled as she walked past me. I walked out of Billies room last closing the door as I followed her down the stairs.
She grabbed the last remaining piece of toast from the plate on the kitchen side while I swung my bag on, Eden's already on, and we both headed to the front door.
Eden opened the door, with the corner of the toast in her mouth, as it opened and we walked out as I adjusted my bag strap. I looked up from my bag strap at the drive to see... never mind no Billie. There was no car.
"Where is he?" I asked Eden.
"That little shit has gone with out us!"
"Why would he do that?"
"I don't know... shouldn't I be asking you that?" She turned around looking over at me like I would have any clue why he was suddenly disappearing in the mornings knowing fully he was suppose to be our ride to school. He hadn't told us or warned us we was leaving early. We didn't even hear him go out the front door. He just left.
"Why would I know that?"
"Well you're his girlfriend?"
"Fake girlfriend. But no- I'm just as clueless as you are. When we got back I guess he was being blunt with me," I mentioned questionably as we began to walk up the street, accepting that we would be making our own way to school today.
"Was he being weird with you when you was picking your stuff or dropping it off?" She asked, as I sorta looked around uncomfortably remembering the lie I made.
There's no way that's what had annoyed him right? It was just one white lie. We had told millions of them together to other people. Our whole 'relationship' was a lie. So why would that annoy him? Surely he should understand I can't just come back home and tell his sister I was hanging with him and kissed him right?
"Oh- erm- well no, no he was fine. It was just when we got back," I answered finally.
"Hmm... wonder what his problem is,"
We changed topics after that. Eden began to actually ramble on about some school assignment she had been set that she had no clue what she was doing in. I listened, obviously. But my mind was dangerously floating back to Billie and what ever his problem was. Was it me?
He was weird with me last night. And he leaves early in the morning today. Was he trying to avoid me now all because I lied to his sister?
After a while of chatting and walking together we reached school. Both of us tired and aching. Having to walk up so many hills and turns. It was way easier if Billie just gave us a ride like he normally did but oh well.
We entered the school building making our way through the school corridors as I looked around for Billie. To ask him what was going on.
"Eden, I'm gonna go- I've gotta go see a teacher actually, it's for a project," I lied awkwardly interrupting her conversation with another person I didn't know to well. But I knew she was friends with.
She turned around and nodded. "I'll catch you later Blaze,"
"Yeah, see you later." I began to search through the halls. There was a bit longer until the first bell of the day would ring indicating that lesson one had started. Yeah he was in my maths. But I didn't even have maths today, I didn't have any lessons with him today. And I didn't wanna be worrying through anymore lessons why he was so angry, so I made it my mission to try and find him now.
My eyes landed on him at the bottom of the hallway as he looked in his locker, standing alone.
I speeded up trying to catch him before he might walk away and be able to have a decent conversation with him before the bell goes, finally reaching his locker as I said his name to catch his attention.
"Billie,"
He looked around, before he noticed me and gave me a blank look.
"Billie where was you this morning?"
"Here,"
"Why didn't you wait for us? We had to walk to school my legs are killing me right now,"
He shrugged his shoulders with out a proper answer.
"Okay...? Well... what's up with you?"
"Nothing,"
"Why are you being so blunt with me?"
He shut his locker door. "I'm not." Before walking away.
"Billie!" I sighed as I caught up and walked in front of him blocking his path.
He lightly rolled his eyes as he stopped in his tracks looking down at me. "What do you want?"
"Billie what the fuck is your problem man?"
With out warning, he took me by my hand slightly dragging me as he opened the door to an empty classroom and let go as he kicked the door shut behind him.
I rubbed my wrist in pain slightly confused before looking back up at him as he began to speak.
"You really wanna know? I know this whole relationship and whatever is fake- but Eden knows that, so why are you lying to Eden so much about everything?"
"Are you kidding me right now?" I laughed slightly in disbelief. "This is really what you're so mad about?"
"Yes! Blaze it is!"
Blaze?
What happened to Birdie?
"Billie- I'm lying to her because she's your fucking sister and also my best friend," I stated crossing my arms.
"So what else is it?"
"What else? What do you mean what else? There's nothing more else!"
"It's not because... well I don't know, are you ashamed?"
"Ashamed of what?" I asked confused uncrossing my arms.
"That we kissed,"
"Am I asha- no Billie of course I'm not. I wanted that kiss. I agreed to that kiss! I kissed you back! Why would I be-"
"-so why did you tell Eden we was just getting some stuff from yours? You don't want her knowing you really enjoy my company do you? You don't want her knowing you like hanging out with me. That you do it out of choice now and not because of this fake relationship we're caught up in. That's it isn't it? You never thought you'd get this attached... did you?"
Aright... maybe I didn't. Maybe there was a little, or a lot, of truth in what he was saying. But I was not ashamed.
"No... Billie no not at all,"
"So what is it?"
I paused. Maybe I didn't have an answer to that just yet. Maybe he was right. I had always taken pride in being one of the few girls who didn't like Billie. And now I had fallen victim to everything I thought I hated about him. But it all grew on me... like weeds.
"You don't even have an answer do you?"
I shook my head nervously.
"It seems to me that maybe I'm just not worth the ear ache from Eden to you." Was the last thing he said before he walked off. Out of the classroom and the door shut behind him.
Leaving me stood in an empty and supposedly quiet room. But all I could hear was the thoughts rushing through my head telling me he was right and I was wrong and I just had to swallow my pride and accept I can't always be a smart ass.
I guess I didn't think I would get this attached. But it wasn't my fault. Does he think I intended for this to happen? Because I didn't, I never meant to develop anything real from any of this.
The day went on... With or with out Billie as I returned to sitting back with Eden and Coby for dinner. Since Billie and I had our first ever real fall out in a fake scenario.
Y'know what, why did he even care so much? It's all fake anyway.
The rumours were already circling school. That Billie and I had broken up. Although I ignored every person who asked. But the 'news' and the gossip in this school spreads like wild fire and soon enough every one was speculating our relationship status at the moment.
All because people had picked up I wasn't sat with him today. Or walking with him in the halls, or being with him at all. Kinda how we use to be, only now plus the tension from our argument.
"Yes I can, pass me that," Coby ordered in a cocky tone holding out his hand.
Eden rolled her eyes laughing as she passed him over the bottle of water which he took.
He rolled His shoulders and pretended to crack his neck as he dramatically prepared for showing Eden he was right. Before un screwing the lid of the water bottle and beginning to gulp it all down.
Eden counted loudly, with every second passing she banged on the table adding suspense.
"Six! Seven! Ei-"
"-Eden stop banging on that desk!" A loud demanding voice shouted scaring us all as Coby flinched. The top of the bottle slipping from his lips and pouring all down his neck as he quickly dropped it back on the table in shock.
I began to laugh at the sight of Coby looking down miserably at his soggy shirt as Even joined in.
Billie Joe's P.O.V
I looked over at their table. Eden and Blaze clinging on to each other in desperate attempts not to fall on to the floor from laughing so hard at Cobys misery.
"Why isn't she sitting with us today anyway Beej?" A voice asked me as I turned back around to the table.
"Oh, we had an argument I guess,"
"What about?" Mike curiously outstretched his neck as he leaned his chin on his hand. Wanting to know more.
"Well... We kissed yesterday night-"
"-What!?"
"But I thought it was fake!?"
"Shh!!" I hushed quickly freaking out as I looked around me to see if anyone had heard Tres loud outburst. "It is... But I just- I don't know! I wanted to kiss her and she was giving me this look that said the same so I asked if we kissed if it could be fake. She agreed, we kissed,"
An eyebrow arched up over Tres left eye. "And that's why you fell out?"
"No, course not. We fell out because when we got back home and Eden asked us where we had been. She turned around and automatically lied to her,"
"Why is that bad?" Tre mumbled to Mike confused as Mike shrugged.
"Its bad because it's like she's embarrassed or something! Why can't she just admit that she chose to hang around with me last night instead of having to for show?"
Mike nodded his head understandingly. "So you think she's ashamed she now likes your company?"
"Exactly!"
But Tre still looked out of the loop. "Well if it was the other way around... Say one of your best friend wanted to be with your sibling choicefully, wouldn't you be mad?"
Why would I be. Eden has no right being mad, I wouldn't care if it was the other way around.
"No?" I answered confused. "Why?"
"No reason,"
