"Why would you say that!?" Coby shouted over at me surprised at the new information Eden was now feeding him.
"Shut up shut up shut up!! I know I know! Eden has already scream at me nine whole times for it!"
"What precisely nine times?"
"Been keeping count,"
"Niceee," He grinned putting his hand in the air for a high five. Easily being distracted from the point of the conversation.
I went to high-five him before Eden pulled his arm down. "No! Not nice! She told someone she's dating my brother!"
I rolled my eyes breathing out. "Eden we'll probably never even see that dude again,"
"Hopefully,"
I inhaled looking around the cafeteria of the school. Coby, Eden and I were sat on a table buried in the middle of the hall. Other people around us on different tables, different sort of cliques I guess. I'm not sure what we would be categorised as... but it probably wasn't pleasant.
Not that that bothered me, or Eden, or Coby. Social status sucks cock anyway. Who really cares in the end?
"Does he know you said this?" Coby asked me as my eyes still looked around the large but filled room.
They landed on Billie's table. Where him and his friends had always sat. Only because there was a clear path were the tables went directed to where I could see him. Right near the back.
He sat there with Mike and Tre, them only. It confused me much because Billie was sorta a little popular. Not much, but he was way more liked than I was. But he still stuck with just them. Yes, Billie was an asshole. But he was real and down to earth, I could give him that.
I know how I'll never hear the end of this situation. I didn't even say it because I liked Billie. I don't. He's an annoying little jerk, an immature teenager, a idiotic bastard. I don't think I could ever love him really, not that it would ever come to it.
"Are you staring at him?"
"What?" I asked, realising I was being spoken to as I looked away from Billie who was currently shaking up a can of coke.
"Was you just staring at- oh my god this can't get any worse," Eden said with her head now in her hands.
"I wasn't even staring at him in particular I was just staring at everyone in the cafeteria,"
"What and as I looked over your eyes happened to be on Billie Joe?" Coby joined in, a slight smirk creeping up on his face. I could just tell he found this hilarious.
"Look I know this looks super bad-"
"-Duh! You told a guy my brother was with you!"
"Yes yes Eden! I'm aware! Anyway! I know this looks super bad- but I don't! Have any feelings for Billie. He's not my type. I can't even look at him that way, I can't even imagine looking at him that way! In fact! I can't even imagine me imagining me looking at him that way!"
I looked over at Eden and Coby. Both of them giving me blank stares as they were silent, looking over at me blinking quietly.
"What?" I asked.
"You can't even- sorry- you can't even.... imagine you imagining you... imagining you-?"
"-No Coby I can't imagine me imagining me looking at him that-"
"-but you said-"
"-I know what I said!"
"Hey losers," A voice said from behind me. I rolled my eyes turning around to see of course the trio of idiots.
Sometimes he, Mike and Tre liked to come over to our table. Mostly because Billie enjoyed winding I and Eden up.
"How very charming of you to call us losers," Eden grunted, annoyed at her brothers merely presence.
"What you guys talking about?" Mike asked sliding next to me on the seat that went fully around the table. Meaning it was all basically one chair. One long never ending chair.
"Yeah, let us in on the details!" Tre agreed as he squeezed between me and Mike. His shoulder lightly brushing mine.
Well that was before- "I wanna know! I wanna know!" Billie chanted as he just managed to get between me and Tre. Squeezing in as his shoulder was shoved beside mine, the whole left side of his body touching my right.
Mike refused to move up, finding it funny 'torturing' Tre and Billie. And soon enough Billie gave in and carried on still being right up beside me. Not that I minded, it was Eden that looked kinda annoyed.
I guess I couldn't blame her. She must've thought I really did have a crush on her brother. No one wants their best friend dating their sibling. It's weird.
For many reasons.
"Soooo?" Tre asked looking over at all of us. "What are we chatting about?"
Reason number one: you're suppose to tell your best friend everything. All the little details. But I'm pretty sure if it's between your best friend and your sibling... you'll want to miss out. And sometimes you might even be forced to listen. No one wants to hear things about a sibling that you shouldn't see that side of. It makes things... awkward between the two of you.
"Nothing important Tre," I responded as I leaned over the table and looked past Billie over at him.
He gave me a flat expression before hollering. "Bore-ring!"
Reason number two: imagine loosing your own best friend to your sibling? That'll sting. Open the door and they're here to see you- Nope never mind it's for your brother. Seeing you friend ring your phone- only because your sister isn't answering. Seeing them around the house- only because they've been in your siblings room.
That must be the worse possible person to loose your own best friend to.
"Mike can you please budge up?" I asked him, looking over at now Billie and Tre at Mike. Who was perfectly able to budge up... but like I said, enjoyed 'torturing' Billie and Tre.
"Am I that bad?" Billie joked looking over at me. I looked back at him, having to move my head back a little bit so my nose wasn't touching the end of his. That's how close we were.
And probably most Important and the first one that comes to mind.
"Yeah, you annoy me," I answered, trying to shove him away from me by pressing up against his arm. In an attempt to slide him further down the seats.
Reason number three: what the hell happens after the break up? Who's side do you take? Who do you stick up for? Who do you backstab? Who's right? Who do you pretend is right? Who do you tell straight and say what they did was wrong and risk the bond you have?
You can't betray your own family. But you can't betray your own best friend. Especially when they're near enough like family.
One way or another, one of them won't be happy.
Eden cracked a laugh at my insult to Billie as Billie scowled at me. Finally Mike let go off the bottom of the seat as he slid further down. Tre and Billie budging up top now they had the extra room.
"You don't mean that," he muttered. I pretended like I didn't hear him, like I did with most of his comments as Coby spoke up.
"Mike- you're in my science right?"
"I think so...?"
"Did you do the homew-"
"-Don't turn our conversation into homework!" I cut Coby off in a whiny voice.
"Agreed!" Eden nodded backing me up.
"Sorry, how about we go back to talking about what we was then,"
"What? How Billie annoys me?" I smirked as I heard Billie mumbled something under his breath which I also ignored.
"No... before Billie, Tre and Mike came over,"
My smile slipped away, so did Eden's as we looked at him warningly. "Don't you dare," I scowled.
"Ooh! Tell us!" Tre loudly shouted, before Mike hit his arm and told him to be quiet. Since he did shout with more volume that was probably needed, turning a lot of peoples attention who were originally just sat talking in the cafeteria to us.
"No!" Eden quickly shouted, even louder.
"Oh great," Mike sighed dropping his hands on the table.
I looked around to see a lot more of people's heads turned. Which was way more than embarrassing. Embarrassing isn't even enough to explain the discomfort and awkwardness I was feeling right now.
Slowly, we all in unison, turned back around to face each other around the circle table.
"Whatever it is... you guys sure are secret about it..." Billie slowly said, his eyebrows slightly slanted in a state of confusion at Eden's sudden volume.
"Yeah..." Tre nodded beside Billie in agreement catching on as the three of them looked over at the three of us, I, Eden and Coby, suspiciously. While we tried to look un guilty as we most possible could. "Are you guys smuggling drugs or something?"
"Ooh! I want some!"
"Billie there are no drugs," Mike breathed out sensibly. "Are there?" He asked as his eyes shot to look at me widened. Maybe there really is no brain amongst the three of them.
"No! There are zero drugs! None! Nada! Zilch! Zerooo! N-"
"-Okay way to rub it in that we have no drugs," Coby nudged me with his elbow.
We all laughed for a moment, as I did I spotted a much familiar face walking into the hallway as they looked around.
The laughter died down as soon as I had stopped to watch where he was going. He made his way to the end of the line to grab some food. As he looked around impatiently waiting.
So since when had he attended here? Or had he always came here? I didn't think I had ever seen him around before until when he showed up behind Eden and I at the arcade games.
None the less. The one who got me in the little mess of a situation I'm in now that Eden is so very annoyed about. There he was in all his flirtatious and problematic glory. Justin.
