"so ashton, you're in this band with luke then?" the girls' father asked ashton who nodded in agreement.

"yes sir, the drummer."

"ah, I played drums in high school," mr peterson patted ashton's shoulder, taking a liking to him.

"and how did you meet poppy?" her mother asked curiously, smiling at the boy. after what their eldest daughter had been through with the previous boyfriend, they were both cautious.

"luke and iris actually introduced us mum," poppy answered for him, wanting to relieve him from the interrogation.

they were going to scare him away, she could feel it. but she wasn't going to let it happen.

for months everything was black and ashton had finally brought colour back to her life.
