"this was perfect ash," poppy said happily as they finished the last of the strawberries from the picnic, looking up at the starry sky.

"i'm glad," ash returned the smile, slyly intertwining their hands.

"why do you bother with me?" poppy asked, looking down. her ex had never treated her the way ash did.

"because i've fallen for you, pop," ashton whispered, a deep blush setting on his cheeks as he watched the girl beside him as her mouth fell open.

"has it not been obvious?"

"no," she whispered out in reply.

"no, because i've been too busy falling for you too"
