Like a pretty spring flower, Poppet nestled her feet amongst the green forest grass and swayed so gently as if waltzing with the wind. The maple tree leaves brushed against her brown hair and pale freckled skin as she walked to the forest. Poppet carried along a basket filled with different kinds of mushrooms and flowers, all so colorful but gray and dull to Poppet's eyes.

She settled her basket on the grass and laid her body on the dry earth to rest for a few moments. Is this all there is to life? Poppet thought, and closed her beautiful honey eyes to sleep.

The night came after the few moments and the moon rose to the cotton skies. The stars brought light to the world, and fireflies hovered every tree leaf and river streams. Poppet remained asleep and still as the moon's bright gleam shined over her delicate skin.

As the moon brightened the colorful dark world, it saw Poppet whose being is as dull as broken pebbles. It felt pity for the lonely girl so before morning came, it sent its humble boy from the moon to grant happiness to Poppet.

"I only fish for nightmares and return pretty dreams," said the humble boy, reluctant to go down the earth and help a strange girl. "It is not my duty to grant happiness to a girl."

"Pretty dreams are happiness my boy, what difference does it make?" the moon uttered and gently lowered the boy down to the dry and quiet earth where Poppet rested upon.

As soon as the boy landed on earth, his white hair and cold skin turned darker and more humanlike. Freckles spread on his face, and his once soft voice grew dense and deeper. He was shocked of his transformation, he did not need a whole makeover to give happiness to a strange girl he has not once met nor seen.

The boy approached the sleeping girl, and noticed that she had pale dull skin. For some reason, he wanted to check if she was alive or he was now stuck in a dark quiet world alone. He brushed the back of his hands gently on her forehead and within seconds, Poppet awoke and kicked him on his stomach.
