Sometimes it's sudden, sometimes it's lasts
No one really knows the amount of sand
That remains in our life's hourglass
How long we have left to hold a loved one's hand
Our father in heaven called another angel home
He left our world quite sudden
All his family left here alone to mourn
At peace now to walk in a flower filled garden
One that lacks all the troubles and weeds
No longer wondering what was the need
For all the materialistic things
Now amongst the angels he sings
I didn't know you
But I'm sure your life was full of love
Maybe you didn't accomplish all you wanted to do
Just think now you can do them up above
While watching and keeping your family safe
In the comfort of God's warm embrace
You may be not of this earth anymore
But your here in spirit
So you can keep up with the ones you adore
Excuse me one second while I shed a tear
Then hug my loved ones a little tighter
A constant reminder that we aren't guaranteed tomorrow
When a loved one leaves we are left in sorrow
Picking up the shattered pieces of our hearts
Trying to remember all the good parts
Not the moments that your life slipped away
But the loved filled happy moments here to stay
