It was a shiny, spring day in Ponyville. Many fillies and colts were abuzz about how soon summer break was. Lily Dache, a small blank flank filly from Trottingham, happily cantered to her best friend, Royal Blue. Royal Blue was another blank flank, who'd bonded with her over moving to Ponyville from a different city, Manehattan. They've been BFFs ever since. "Hey Royal!" Lily happily chirped. "Hey Lily! Did you have any luck finding your cutie mark last weekend?" Royal Blue smiled, sitting behind her bff. "Nope. But I at least know my special talent is with flowers. I might get my cutie mark in that." Said Lily, as Royal braided Lily's hair. "Lucky! I don't even have a special talent!" She pouted, jealous. "Oh please," started Lily, "Everypony in Equestria ha as special talent. Even if they're a blank flank like you." She scoped the playground. She suddenly sighed, seeing Bolt and Finish Line "Ey' look, it's a couple of baby blank flanks." Finish teased, as Royal finished braiding Lily's mane. Lily put her rose hat on. Royal's eyes grew wide at the word "Blank Flank", and flicked her tail over her flank. She was used to being teased like this in Manehattan. "When are you two gonna' grow up? What are your talents anyways?" Bolt crossed her arms. "For your information, my talent is growing flowers." Lily growled. "And Royal's talent is..." She drew a blank. "That's right, she's a useless, talentless blank flank." Bolt laughed. Royal's eyes welled with tears. She suddenly stomped. She smashed Lily's sand castle. "Lily's the real talentless one." Royal smirked. Lily's eyes watered. Her best friend had turned against her.
