Rainbow Dash ran through the forest, her heart pounding in her chest. She did not dare look behind her.
"It's ok, Rainbow." She whispered to herself as she dodged through trees and boulders. "They're just zombies. They'd never catch up with you." She screamed as a zombie Apple Bloom stepped out of the bush in front of her. She skidded to a stop, before flying up into the air. She zoomed as fast as her wings could take her towards her cloud house, where she knew she'd be safe.

She reached her home, slamming the door behind her.
"Earth ponies can't walk on clouds," she told herself, trying to calm her nerves. "Zombie unicorns can't use magic, right? A-And pegasi zombies surely can't fly?" A low moaning noise from behind her told Rainbow that she wasn't alone. She turned, seeing her yellow maned, grey pegasus friend, approaching. "Derpy! Please, leave me alone!" Despite her fearful cries, the zombie still dragged her hooves towards the terrified pony. Not knowing what else to do, Rainbow flew out of her home and towards Fluttershy's cottage.

When she reached her timid friend's house, Rainbow knocked on the door. She instantly wished she hadn't. For behind the door wasn't her friend, but a zombified grizzly bear.
"Harry!" Rainbow cried in fear, before flying away.

Dash flew all over Ponyville, seeing that all her friends had turned into zombies.
"This can't be happening again!" Rainbow didn't know what to do, where to go, or who to ask. Suddenly it clicked. Zecora! Fearfully, Rainbow flew towards the most dangerous part of Equestria: the Everfree Forest.

She flew into the thick trees, looking for the very particular one. She found it, just as she heard the terrifying howls of Timberwolves. Rainbow entered Zecora's hut, seeing her zebra friend at her cauldron.
"Zecora, you gotta help me!" Rainbow Dash panted, staring out of the window. "Everypony in Ponyville has turned into zombies! Do you have anything that could help?" She turned to look at Zecora, just at the same time Zecora did. "AHHH!!!!" Rainbow screamed and crashed through the door, leaving the zombie zebra.

"What is happening?" Rainbow asked herself, flying towards Cloudsdale. "This isn't a prank, I know it!" She quickly reached Cloudsdale, and stared looking around. "Maybe my parents know!" Even though she didn't want to ask of her parents' help, Rainbow flew towards her old home.

"Mom? Dad?" She entered, and all was quiet. She walked through the house, looking through everything to find any clues. And she found one, just not the kind she wanted. She looked behind her, seeing her mother Windy Whistles, a zombie. "Mom!" Rainbow flew over her mother and into her bedroom, seeing her father, back towards Dash. "Dad?" There was no response. "Dad!" Bow Hothoof turned around, and again, Rainbow screamed. "Dad! What happened to everypony?" She left her father, flying through the cloud wall in search of her fellow Wonderbolts.

Wonderbolts Headquaters was empty. So was the cafeteria. Rainbow looked towards the training ground, seeing her filly heroes walking around slowly. She flew cautiously up to Spitfire, the leader of the now... Zombiebolts. "No!" Rainbow Dash cried. She left her heroes, flying all the way to Canterlot.

Making no hesitation, she flew in through a window of the princess's castle, looking all around for the princesses themselves.

She flew quietly in and out of doors, until she stumbled into Princess Celestia's bedroom, where she saw the great ruler sleeping.
Rainbow approached the bed quietly, realising that the princess was restless. Suddenly Celestia sat up gasping, her eyes falling on the rainbow maned pegasus.
"I apologise for intruding, princess," Rainbow begins, before Celestia climbs out of her bed.
"Do not worry, Rainbow Dash." The princess sure looked like she was worrying. "I know why you are here. However I do not understand what happened."
"I-It's not just Ponyville, your highness," Rainbow continued. "It's happened to Zecora and by what I know Cloudsdale as well."
"Then it mightn't be long before it happens here."
"It's already here, sister," Princess Luna slams the door fully open. "The dreams of everypony in Canterlot, all the same, horrifying thing I wish I hadn't seen."
"Then we leave for the Crystal Empire immediately." Princess Celestia gives little warning, before her horn lights up and the three ponies are teleported into the castle in the Crystal Empire.
