Phuwin took a deep breath, leaning against the wall backstage, trying to calm his nerves. The club was packed tonight, filled with people who were eager to see him perform. His hands still shook slightly as he adjusted the mic in his hand, but the thrill of the stage, of singing in front of a live audience, always won out in the end.
The spotlight hit him as he stepped forward, and the crowd cheered, but his attention was drawn to the dimly lit VIP section. There was a man seated there, dark eyes fixed on him, looking completely unbothered by the crowd or the loud music around him. Phuwin couldn’t help but stare back for a second too long, drawn in by the stranger’s aura.
As he sang, he noticed the stranger’s gaze never left him. It sent a thrill through him, making him sing with even more intensity, pouring every note into the lyrics as if they were meant for that one person alone. When the song ended, the stranger was gone, leaving Phuwin to wonder if he’d only imagined him.
After the show, Phuwin was packing up when one of the club staff handed him a card.
"A guest wanted you to have this,” the staff member said, sounding a little impressed. “Left it in the VIP area.”
Phuwin took the card, frowning slightly as he glanced down at it. It was black, with only a name written in elegant silver letters: Pond Naravit. There was a phone number scrawled on the back, with a simple message: “Call me.”
Curiosity got the better of him, and later that night, Phuwin dialed the number, not knowing that it would be the start of something that would turn his world upside down.
The next evening, Pond invited him to a private restaurant, one of those ridiculously exclusive places that only the rich and powerful could get into. Phuwin felt underdressed in his simple button-down, and as he stepped into the private dining room, he was greeted by the sight of Pond leaning casually against the table, looking effortlessly powerful and intimidating.
“You came,” Pond greeted him, a faint smirk on his lips.
“Yeah, well…you kind of left an impression last night,” Phuwin replied, trying to sound more confident than he felt.
Pond’s smirk widened as he gestured for him to sit. They ordered drinks, and as they talked, Phuwin found himself captivated by Pond’s charm, his quick wit, and the way his eyes seemed to see right through him. But Pond remained vague about himself, dodging questions with ease.
At the end of the night, as they stood outside the restaurant, Pond moved closer, his fingers grazing Phuwin’s cheek. “I’d like to see you again,” he murmured, his voice low and filled with promise.
Phuwin swallowed, his heart pounding. “Why me? You could have anyone.”
“Maybe,” Pond said, his dark eyes glinting. “But right now, I want you.”
Phuwin’s breath hitched as Pond leaned in, capturing his lips in a kiss that was both possessive and tender, leaving him breathless and wanting more.
Days turned into weeks, and Phuwin found himself swept up in a whirlwind romance with Pond. They met in secret, away from the paparazzi’s gaze, their nights filled with whispered conversations and stolen kisses. But Phuwin still knew so little about Pond. Whenever he tried to ask, Pond would change the subject or distract him with a touch, a kiss, or a look that made him forget everything.
One night, as they lay tangled in bed, Phuwin turned to him, his curiosity bubbling over. “You know everything about me, but I barely know anything about you. Why do you keep so many secrets?”
Pond looked at him for a long moment, his expression unreadable. “Some things are better left unknown, Phuwin,” he replied quietly. “For your own safety.”
Phuwin frowned, sitting up. “Safety? Are you in some kind of trouble?”
Pond sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. “It’s complicated. Let’s just say…my life isn’t as simple as you think.”
Phuwin felt a flicker of frustration. “If we’re really together, you need to trust me. I want to know all of you.”
Pond’s gaze hardened, and he pulled Phuwin close, his voice dropping to a possessive whisper. “You’re mine, Phuwin. Mine, only f*cking mine. And I’ll protect you from anything that tries to come between us. Even if that means keeping secrets.”
Phuwin shivered at the intensity in Pond’s voice, his heart racing as he realized just how deeply Pond felt. He didn’t fully understand it, but he trusted him, letting the tension between them dissolve as they kissed.
Weeks later, while scrolling through social media, Phuwin came across an article that made his blood run cold. Pond Naravit, Billionaire CEO and Heir to the Naravit Fortune, Spotted at Exclusive Gala. He stared at the headline, his mind racing as he clicked on the article. There, in a photo, was Pond, looking every bit the powerful billionaire he’d read about.
Phuwin felt his stomach twist as realization sank in. Pond hadn’t just been keeping secrets—he’d been living a double life. The man he’d fallen for was not just anyone. He was one of the richest and most powerful men in the country.
Anger and betrayal bubbled up inside him as he grabbed his phone and dialed Pond’s number. Pond answered after a few rings, his voice calm and collected as always.
“Phu?” he greeted him. “What’s wrong?”
“Is it true?” Phuwin’s voice trembled with a mix of anger and hurt. “Are you really…a billionaire? The CEO of Naravit Corp?”
There was a pause, and then Pond sighed. “Yes, it’s true.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Phuwin demanded, his voice cracking. “I thought I knew you, but you’ve been lying to me this whole time.”
“Phuwin, I didn’t lie,” Pond replied, his tone steady but pleading. “I just…didn’t tell you everything. I wanted you to love me for me, not for what I have.”
Phuwin felt his anger waver, but the hurt remained. “You should have trusted me. I would have understood.”
Pond sighed, his voice softening. “You’re right. I should have told you. But I was afraid of losing you.”
Phuwin’s heart ached at the vulnerability in Pond’s voice. “You almost did,” he whispered, wiping away a tear. “I don’t know if I can trust you again.”
“Then let me prove myself,” Pond said, his voice filled with determination. “I’ll do whatever it takes.”
Over the following weeks, Pond went out of his way to make it up to Phuwin, showing him the real side of himself he’d kept hidden. Slowly, Phuwin’s anger faded, replaced by a deeper understanding of the complicated man he loved.
One night, as they stood on the balcony of Pond’s penthouse, looking out at the city lights, Pond took Phuwin’s hand in his, pressing a gentle kiss to his knuckles.
“I never wanted to hurt you, baby,” he murmured, his voice filled with regret. “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, and I was a fool for not trusting you from the start.”
Phuwin looked up at him, his heart full of forgiveness and love. “Just…no more secrets, okay?”
Pond nodded, pulling him close. “No more secrets. From now on, you’re part of my world. And I’ll spend every day proving to you that you’re the only one for me.”
As they shared a kiss under the stars, Phuwin knew that this was where he belonged—with Pond, in a love that was as real and intense as the city lights around them.
