chapter twelve : vanessa
"How'd it go?" Elisa asked.
"Not as smooth as I'd hope, but hey, at least it's over," Nat smiled and Elisa tilted her head.
"What happened?" She asked and Natasha rolled her eyes.
"Wade Wilson," Natasha groaned and Elisa widened her eyes.
"The special ops guy that did the-"
"Yeah, that guy," Natasha shuddered at the thought.
"What did he do?" She asked and Natasha sighed.
"He jumped in through a window and just started shooting everybody, he nearly shot me but I had to reveal myself," Natasha sighed.
Elisa frowned.
"Where did he go?" She asked and Natasha shrugged.
"He was going on about an anniversary, he didn't even kill the guy he came for," Natasha said and Elisa widened her eyes.
"What if he goes after Wades girlfriend, she has to be innocent, no one knows about her," she went on, walking off to the tracking room, putting in Wade Wilson and tried to find everything she could.
When Elisa got where he was living, she left and put on her suit, calling Peter.
"Hey what's up?" She head through the phone.
"I made us a mission, suit up, I'll be there to pick you up," she said and hung up.
Elisa walked out the door and went invisible, getting in her car and driving to Peters building. Spider-Man swung down and quickly got in, Elisa went visible and drove off, following the GPS on her phone.
"So what are we doing?" Peter asked and Elisa smiled.
"You know Wade Wilson?" She asked and the eyes on Peters mask widened.
"The mercenary?!" He exclaimed and Elisa frowned at him.
"He has a girlfriend, and the last little bad guy he ran into got away, and I think he may go after Wades wife, Vanessa," Elisa said and Peter stared at her.
"So you want a protection detail?" He asked and Elisa nodded.
"It'll be fun! Your aunt knows where you're at right?" She asked and Peter sighed.
"I told her it was a Stark mission," he said.
Elisa nodded and swerved into a back alley and slammed on the breaks.
"Good," she responded and looked to him, "because we're here."
Elisa and Peter got out and she looked around with her glasses. She identified Wades window and showed Peter.
"Alright, you think you can carry me up there with you?" She asked and he nodded.
"Hop on," he said and Elisa nodded.
Elisa got on Peters back and went invisible, making Peter invisible with her.
"Alright, be silent, and open the window when no one is looking," she whispered in his ear as he started to climb.
Elisa held tightly and kept her self up as he started to go a bit faster.
"This it?" Peter asked in a hushed tone.
"Yes," she answered and saw that no one was home.
"Go ahead," she said and he opened the window, they climbed in and shut it, Elisa came down from Peters back and made him visible again.
"Alright, we now wait," she said and looked around the apartment.
It was a bit small, but filled with all of the things they loved. Elisa loved it. She heard jingling at the door and she grabbed Peters hand and went invisible, pulled him to the wall and stood flat against it.
A woman walked in with groceries in her bag and Elisa took a deep breath. Vanessa put the groceries down and Elisa went visible.
Vanessa jumped and grabbed a knife from the kitchen until Elisa took off the glasses.
"Chill chill chill!" She said with her hands raised.
"Why are there Avengers in my house?" She asked and Elisa put her hands down.
"We're protecting you, Wade didn't finish his last mission before coming home, he's on his way but with the people he was fighting, it may take more than him to protect you," she said and Vanessa nodded.
"Since when did you guys care about Wade?" She asked and Elisa laughed.
"We don't, but you're still apart of the innocent group, and my dad won't let me go on the awesome missions with him, plus I needed to get out of the house and he needs field training," Elisa pointed to Spider-Man with a thumb.
"Wade talks about him, a little mad about the similarities in the suit," Vanessa said and had a small smile.
"Well we can talk it out when he gets here, need help?" Elisa asked referencing to the groceries.
"Uh, yeah," Vanessa said and they walked over, "it's anniversary dinner."
Elisa smiled as they set everything out.
"Spaghetti?" She asked and Vanessa nodded.
"You might have to go to another room at dinner time," she admitted and Elisa's cheeks went red and nodded.
"Noted," She said and Vanessa smiled sheepishly.
"Alright, well you're in luck because I have been blessed by the god, Gordon Ramsey," Elisa joked as she searched recipes with her glasses.
Vanessa nodded as they started preparing. Elisa had Peter cut up the onion and garlic since he had the mask to cover up the juice from getting in his eyes.
With three people making the spaghetti, it was faster than usual, and Elisa didn't have to ask to know Vanessa appreciated the help.
"You know, I told him that he shouldn't be on his little tangents on our anniversary and the one time I let him go, he's late," she sighed and Elisa patted her shoulder.
"Maybe he's helping a cat out of a tree," Elisa tried and Vanessa sighed.
"You guys like TV?" She asked and Elisa shrugged and looked to Peter.
"I don't really watch it," Elisa and Peter shrugged.
"What channels do you have?" Peter asked and Vanessa looked through.
"I have Nickelodeon," Vanessa said as SpongeBobs laugh filled the empty space.
"Uh, sure?" Elisa said and sat down.
"Incoming Call from: Tony Stark," her ear piece spoke.
Elisa answered with a smile and frowned when Tony had a look of worry on his face.
"Elisa where in the hell are you?" He asked and Elisa sighed.
"I'm on a mission, with Spider-Man, well it's more of a protection detail," Elisa started to ramble and Tony groaned.
"Dad I promise I'll be safe, you have to trust me," Elisa pleaded and Tony sighed.
"I can't baby you forever," he said and Elisa smiled.
"But no Peter for a week! I can't have you tainting him with rebellion," Tony said and Elisa widened her eyes.
"But I have to train him!" She said and Tony rolled his eyes.
"It's final," Tony said and Elisa groaned.
"What's wrong?" Peter asked and Elisa pinched the bridge of her nose.
"My Dad is grounding me from you," Elisa said and Vanessa snorted, interrupting the conversation.
"Uh, sorry, are you two dating?" Vanessa asked and Elisa shook her head.
"No, he's a really good friend, I've been training him that's all," Elisa explained and Vanessa nodded.
"Do you guys think you can go invisible when Wade gets here, just to ease him in and not kill you two?" Vanessa asked.
"Of course!" Elisa smiled and Vanessa smiled back.
Elisa looks to Peter, he was messing with his web cartridges and Elisa got up and sat next to him.
"You ready for this?" She asked and Peter nodded.
"You okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, just," Peter shook his head, "I'll tell you later, he's coming."
Elisa stood up, shutting off the TV and grabbing Peters hand. She went invisible and made Peter invisible as well, backing up against the wall.
That's when Wade walked in the door. Vanessa stood in the middle of the room, staring at him.
Elisa held a hand over her mouth as Wade took off his mask.
"You're late," Vanessa said as she stared Wade down.
"There were disabled orphans stuck in a tree"
