Lute's pov

I was heading out when..

"Lute was it?" Surprised I turned around to see the woman who gave me my job in the first place.

"Justice minister Sera" I stood up straight, giving her a salute "how may I assist you ma'am?"

"You needn't act so formal dear. Unless some other officers here you're actually good at your job" she winked at me "walk with me dear. I would like to discuss your relationship with your partner"

Oh boy "I can assure you ma'am despite rumours me and Adams relationship is strictly professional"

"I believe you but that's not what I want to discuss" she said calmly.

"I'm confused ma'am. What could you want to discuss about me and Adam?"

"We want to talk to you about how much you love each other" her daughter Emily popped up.

"What!?" I yelped.

"Falling in love while working together. Ehehe it's sooo romantic" she giggled "you're going to get married and have lots of babies together"

"Emily let's not overwhelm her" sera gently talked her down "what she's trying to say is we've noticed a certain chemistry between you and Adam that we'd like to see blossom"

"Ma'am?" I looked at her in surprise.

She placed a hand on my shoulder "listen dear. I've known Adam for many years and while he's a reckless and arrogant man he's a good person. I haven't seen him this happy since Lilith" she smiled sadly "he's a stubborn man. Despite how much he may want you he won't confess. It has to be you"

She patted my shoulder before walking away, leaving me with clouded thoughts.
